Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre

It was a short 2 nights in Ottawa to visit the museum as a family with kids (6-8y). Will not stay here again. Price was good but Hotel rooms are outdated (they look modern but not functional). For example our bed was squeaking, mattress is bumpy, door is chipping (not the paint but the wood), safety chain was ripped off the door. If u can’t sleep because the bed is u comfortable what’s the purpose of staying there! We left at 10 am for the museums, came back at 5 pm room was still not made, I was told that room cleaning goes till the evenings. Not the best experience with kids. However my kids did enjoy their pool in the evening and we liked the gym.

This place was a soup sandwich.

We had a large contract in place for a work related event. Check in took 3 hours for some as rooms were unavailable and being cleaned still.at 6pm.

My room did not have a shower curtain, and hot water stopped working after a planned outage to repair it resulted in water that was hot, then ice cold for an hour, then dangerously scalding hot for all floors below 15.

I had a 4 night stay at this hotel while travelling for an important exam. I can’t thank enough these people for providing us with anything requested. They were quite helpful and understanding. I recommend breakfast at Prova too, nice and polite staff. Will definitely go back if I travel to Ottawa again. Only thing to improve is the water pressure in bathroom which may be related to the area.

Of I could have less than one star I would. The worst hotel I stayed in. The bathroom was so tiny they did not have space for the tap in the sink in front. The tap was on the side. The tiniest sink I've ever seen. The shower was 2 feet by 4 feet and my elbows were hitting the walls every turn. I was I. The toilet and my wife opened the door and knocked my knee off.
Please don't stay here if you can. When somebody opens the tap you can hear a loud whistling noise in your room.

Dead center of Ottawa and a beautiful property. The people went above and beyond on several occasions and why we'll always stay at Delta when we're visiting.

A bit of a disappointment. I doubt I’d stay at a Delta hotel again and I would advise against anyone reading this to do so either.

Everything at this hotel is functional, but certainly not 4 stars, unclean, a bit falling apart, and I would say certainly not worth the price. It gave a strong feeling of motel, rather than upscale hotel.

The room I was in was very shabby. There was water damage on the walls, thick dust caked onto furniture, doors and paint were chipped and there were mysterious stains on the walls - coffee? Pudding? Blood? Who knows. Either way, ew.

The bed in my room was very bad, I would say probably broken. The springs were so loud they woke me up when I rolled over and the bed was absurdly uncomfortable and the sheets didn’t fit so the mattress was poking out the bottom. The air conditioning system made random hissing and clunking noises. Even the dining menu looked like it had been crumpled up in someone’s pocket then smoothed out again for use in the room?

The restaurant was also quite awful - the first night I was seated and no one even acknowledged me being there for 15 minutes. It took another 30 just to get an appetizer and then I bailed after waiting 15 more minutes for a whiskey. The second night I waited at the “wait to be seated” stand for over 10 minutes before giving up and going elsewhere.

All in all, it was not a *bad* stay, things worked, mostly, and staff were kind. But it certainly didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel and certainly didn’t feel like it was worth the money I paid. I may as well have saved the cash and stayed at a travel lodge, the experience would be the same.

If my stay had been longer than two nights I would have checked out early and gone elsewhere. If you’re staying in Ottawa, I cannot in good faith recommend this place. It costs luxury but the experience is one step below “meh”

Front desk girl was awesome. Greeted us with a smile, apologized for the construction in front of the hotel and topped it off with an upgrade. Highly recommended with service like this.

Staff were very friendly and check in was slow, but pleasant. Good services at this hotel with nice on-site restaurants. Fitness center is well equipped and open 24 hours. Remembered status and welcome gift. The lounge is still not open, but they did provide breakfast vouchers.

Awesome week! Shout out to Ricardo and the bartender at the restaurant. Super cool dudes and made our evenings very enjoyable. Will be coming back just for the restaurant! Overall the staff were great

Awesome customer service, specially by Samantha (new front desk staff). We had to change our room due to some personal reasons, she didn’t make us ask twice. Very clean and organized hotel. Parking is underground unless u have a big vehicle.

Stayed the weekend here. Walking distance to the sites to see downtown. Beds were a bit small and squeaky, carpets in the room are close to or at that point of being worn out (keep your shoes on). Pool was great for the kids. Overall good hotel to stay at. Oh yes and the parking garage is a bit tight.

I loved staying at this hotel. Very clean room and bathroom. It has fridge and coffee machine, and no microwave. Near the downtown. The front guy “Mohammed “ was very nice and welcoming. But one thing make to take one star the neighborhood wasn’t quiet because of the constructions.

Made a reservation for one night under my name with my sister’s credit card. Both our name was on the reservation. Fast forward to the night of our stay, I arrived before her to check in and the employees said I can’t check in without her because the reservation was made with her credit card. I called her explaining the situation and they told me that to fix the issue they just needed to talk with her. As I was already on the phone with her I wanted to pass them my phone but they refused and were insisting that she had to call herself. They were asking her what company we used to make the reservation but she didn’t know because I was the one who did it. She asked them to ask me directly but they didn’t want! She had to call me back and then call them again. After talking to 4 different person and 25 minutes later we finally manage to sort things out. They were making everything so complicated and it was ridiculous at this point. It get worse. We specifically chose their hotel for our staying because they are mentioned as pet friendly. Their hotel shows up as ”cat friendly hotel” when searching online.
They made me sat down and wait 15 minutes for them to come back and just tell me that I can’t check in because I have my cat (which they saw because it was with me the whole time).
They said they only accept dogs, even snakes, birds, whatever you name it, but no cats. They should’ve spare us all the trouble and tell us right away when I first tried to check in. After all the fuss we then told them it’s not possible for us to stay that night because I can’t leave my cat obviously, we are from Quebec. We had to find new accommodation and cancelled the reservation. We confirmed with them 3 times that there is not charges or cancellation fees. The next morning, my sister saw she was charged 213,57$ on her credit card. I had to call them. The lady on the phone said she was going to add a note on our file and was asking for the last 4 digit of the credit card. The whole thing was complicated and sounded not clear at all. I had an odd feeling so I called again to make sure it was fine. Talking to someone else and explaining AGAIN everything, the new lady on the phone told me no note was added to our file and she just hung up on me. My sister called them back again and they were refusing to refund her. Took everything for them to finally agree to refund her.

After you get hit with the municipal “accommodation” tax and the fact that the hotel has no parking for 600 plus rooms so you have to pay an extra $25 a day for a private parking you’ll end up paying too much and will soon forget about how nice the decor was

Hôtel propre, belles chambres avec vue sur le centre-ville. Le service est excellent, et les employés sont chaleureux.
Cependant, la salle de bain était extrêmement petite, et la construction à côté de l’hôtel était très bruyante. Les chambres semblent mal isolées, car il était possible d’entendre tout ce qui se passait dans le corridor et les autres chambres.

Terrible rooms, terrible parking, definitely gone downhill since they sold out to Marriot, but I've noticed this with all the poor delta hotels that are left, they've all gone to the dogs. It's clear Marriott doesn't care about them. Its not worth it anymore as I don't get my discounts I used to either. Won't be back.

Nous avions choisis une chambre 2 lits Queens. Nous avons eu la chambre 615 collée sur les moteurs des ascenseurs. C'était hyper hyper bruyants. À toutes heures du jour et de la nuit, on entendait le bruit dérangeant de ces moteurs. Nous étions là 2 nuits, nous avons donc demandé de changer de chambre. C'était impossible. Toutes les chambres avec 2 lits Queens sont sur le bords des moteurs. Très décevant

Dans la salle de bain, le robinet coulait de partout. On devait faire une barrière les débarbouillettes pour éviter de mouiller le plancher. Dans la douche, le plafond est hyper bas, je mesure plus de 6 pieds et je ne pouvais pas me laver les cheveux. Il n'y a aussi presque pas de pression dans la douche.

L'avantage est la situation géographique, et c'est juste en face de la ligne 1.

It was a bit expensive, but we enjoyed how close it was to so many different tourist attractions, the hotel offered a pool, fitness centre, and dining itself, and the staff were very polite and helpful.

This Delta is in a quiet spot on the west side of downtown Ottawa. South of the Supreme Court of Canada. Unfortunately, the convoy was around when we visited and blocked Lyon and Queen in a part of downtown inconvenienced with one way streets.

Friendly front desk staff, pet friendly hotel is a bonus, modern decor, nice lobby, wouldn't call it a 4 star, 3 at best. Has a small bar fridge in the room which is good. Some are family rooms with a shared door I'm between. Parking is $25 per day with in and out privileges. It's a shared garage though with the office buildings around it.

Update: Inclusive, non-discriminatory staff, evidenced by their behaviours towards both guests and visitors. Very impressed.
Original: I attended a professional conference here today and was very impressed with the conference rooms and all the staff involved in making the day run smoothly. Staff were always on hand to provide assistance and information. Refreshments provided were plentiful but very few options for the vegan guest. The gala dinner provided was incredible, with the offering of a vegan menu option for the main course. Staff seemed a bit confused about what a vegan diet was, attempting to offer me soup drizzled with cream and salad covered with goat cheese. Food aside, this was an excellent venue for the conference and gala attended. Plenty of underground parking and within walking distance of Parliament Hill, Sparks Street and the Byward Market.

Great service, great room and the food from their in house restaurant was to die for. Their pizza was cooked perfectly, full of flavour, the soup of the day was tasty and warmed me up from a long day out in the cold. Will definitely recommend this hotel if you're headed to Ottawa.

I had an amazing experience here. 3 blocks from parliament hill. Walking distance to most restaurants and downtown attractions. The hotel staff was amazing, Very supportive and kind. I would recommend anyone wanting to stay here to do so! Thanks team Delta️

Great weekend getaway destination and located just to the west of Parliament Hill. The staff was very kind and the room was quite comfortable (however, for a room with a king-size bed, I found that the bathroom was surprisingly tight to maneuver). The pool and workout room were very clean and well-maintained, while the in-house dinner and brunch restaurants were reasonably priced and welcoming.

If I could give zero star I would.
I had a non-refundable booking from a third party site. The stay was definitive as I had an exam but due to protests the exam venue changed. Whole downtown and the area around Delta hotel is locked. These are dire conditions but Delta Hotel Management is just being super greedy & stubborn. They did not hear my concerns and they did not listen to third party requests for cancellation too. I guess Delta Hotel just wants to make money at poor people's expense! It's a shame that Marriott name is being brought down. Very very disappointed.

I visited for one night during the protests. Not as a participant. I feel so bad for the staff for having to deal with that. The hotel was seemingly quite full of protestors not following any protocols. Staff can't really do anything about that. I felt for them. They stayed polite and professional through it all. They were probably used to it at that point.

I can't wait to return to Ottawa once all the bozos are gone.

A very nice stay at the hotel. Washroom was a bit small. In downtown so everything was super near.

No microwave in room, other then that great experience, hotel staff is friendly and quick to help.

I got lost in the parking lot after a long day and when I called the front desk the staff immediately came to help me find my car. Great hotel in downtown Ottawa with great city views and close to parks, restaurants and other attractions. I would say the rooms are quite modern looking, which I really like.

Good location. Parking 25$ and dangerous to drive through. Hotel had hockey team and we didnt sleep all night because the kids were running everywhere and did nothing. Not worth for the price

Haven't really checked the services, but my overall experience was ok. The pool had hot and cold pockets. The internet wasn't good enough for HD streaming.

Not a 4 star hotel by any mean.
The parking structure is in poor condition and has very tight passage, the building elevators are very questionable, and the worst is costumer service at the front desk. They charged me twice during check in for deposit without my authorization.

Had a great stay. Room was clean. Bed fairly comfortable. Pillows were a tad too thick.

Staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Only thing we had a complaint about was the highrise construction across the street. So good luck try to sleep in. I'm sure it'll be completed by Christmas.

No laundry, ice machines, or Continental breakfast. Your breakfast options are a restaurant on the mezzanine level which is only open Friday thru Sunday, or a Tim Horton’s on the ground floor where the employees are very slow.

The only way I got sleep was because of my AirPods noise cancellation.

The elevators are obnoxiously loud (and my room wasn’t that close to the elevators) there’s also weird outside noises that weren’t coming from another room but sounded more mechanical.

Stayed 2 nights. Couldn’t sleep until 3am from natural exhaustion. Ironically writing this review at 2: 30am because I can’t sleep from all the noise

I was part of CanFURence and the staff was great. Some even went out of their way to find out a little more about our Furry Fandom. Great place nearby really great food in Downtown Ottawa.

Decent place with lots of amenities and a central location. During the pandemic the delta has be reduced to only rooms and expensive overnight parking. However, the delta is clean, provides great views and the pool and games room is still a good pick for families.

There's a Tim Hortons connected to the lobby, and an Italian inspired restaurant on the ground level.

Good value for money. Will stay here again if in Ottawa.

Always go here for my weekend getaways.really nice amenities and helpful staff. I'll book a Friday stay, parking for Friday night and Saturday is $10. I'll leave my car parked and explore the city during the day.

Très Ordinaire pour le prix. Service en anglais seulement. Chambre petite lit petit salle de bain petite. Ameublement dans le hall sale, stationnement au plafond très bas nous avons passé tres juste avec un pick up Tacoma. Manque de raffinement. Chambre propre et correcye. Sans plus.

Good hotel, nice mezzanine section to just chill out and work or read one of the many books on shelves, restaurant not open yet in premixed not very good for this hotel chain! There's a doorway into Hortons tho if u want that for breakfast. Nice fitness center and good size conference rooms u can book or any special event. Staff takes care of their customers here. They go Electra mile like most Marriott's I've stayed at. No parking tho unless u like to pay 20$ overnite in le "underground garage

We enjoyed our stay. Jenny (front desk) was friendly and helpful. The room is clean, the location is nearby everything.

The location is good, hotel is good and the staff are great. But the wifi is terrible. I constantly faced connection drops (Can't even hold steady connection for a minute). For the price we are paying, the quality of wifi is no where near it. Please fix the wifi issue.

The Washroom are very small, and the room is not big either. They didn't provide any food service during weekdays and the most store close early and the elevators always broken. Only advantage is close LRT Station

The wifi is constantly cutting in and out. The parking is unfairly expensive $25/day. The tv in the room is good for a hotel

Very convenient location for someone travelling by Via rail. Staffs are professional and quick to respond.

Booked a two day stay, first thing we did was order food from skip the dishes and then eat. By then we found some hair on the mattress, some on the pillow, and urine stains on the toilet seat. We decided to leave right after we ate. The front desk did not charge us for the second night but said only the manager can refund the first night and that they would call me the next day. He did offer another room but at this point i was not going to stay in this hotel anymore. I never received that call from the manager and this was a week ago. Ended up paying $150 dollars for 2 hours in a hotel.

Very nice hotel that makes a good base for a downtown visit. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Walking distance from Parliament Hill and the War Museum.

Good Hotel, awesome customer services. Alex, the front desk manager went out of his way to accommodate our requests. Breakfast was much better then expected. Valet service was great. They preheated our vehicle and cleared all ice and snow. The suite was spacious and had connecting rooms for our larger party. We can be difficult customer but these guys had us covered with a smile on their faces. Thank you! I highly recommend this location. We typically stay at 5 star class hotels, this is an awesome deal for a 4 star.

Great hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful, the restaurant food was phenomenal and the room was pretty big with adequate amenities. Sadly the club house and pool were closed but there was lots of notice about both things on the site before booking and we were told as such when checking in; so no surprises there.

Very comfortable beds, and nice and spacious rooms. Very clean and pretty quiet (we were here just before Xmas). Nice little extras like complementary water, coffee and tea in your room. Explent location to visit Parliament Hill and byward market by foot. Parking is a bit pricey (20$/night) I feel like if your paying 100-200$ for a hotel room by night it would be nice if they give you a discount.

Pas de coffre dans la chambre ce qui peut paraître surprenant mais pour le reste tout était impeccable. Le matelas très confortable ainsi que les oreillers nous a permis de passer 2 très bonnes nuit.

The room was wonderful and looked really clean. A friendly staff member helped us find parking since the one way streets are kind of confusing. Bathroom was smaller than expected and the tv was difficult to set up because with our laptop because the cables seem to be broken. Service calls to the front provide quick service though! Waking distance of everything. Really enjoyed our stay!

It was a very nice hotel in a prime location in downtown Ottawa. It is near the parliament and a twenty walk from Byward market. The room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I do appreciate that the hotel acknowledged the issue and provide appropriate compensation for the issue. But it is the second time I gave had an issue with little to no water in the shower.

Are you looking for a hotel close to Parliament Hill, near Light Rail, and within walking distance to a multitude of sights and shopping?

If so, this renovated Delta property may be your answer! The service is wonderful and accommodating - an early morning checkin on Christmas Eve.

This particular room, a suite, was very spacious, enough that you could host a dinner party or other such event. On top of all that - very affordable.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful and quality! The sausages, home fries, and smoothie shots were the highlights.

The staff provided excellent service and the executive lounge provided a good selection of breakfast and hors d'hoeuves. The location is very conveniently located in downtown Ottawa. The one issue I had was that the underground parking is complicated as it's a shared parking space for a number of buildings in the area. The paths in the garage were also narrow.

Annie, Eric and Steve are such amazing hotel staff! They were so informative and helpful with our decision to go to Ottawa. Thank you guys for making our trip so special!

Excellent stay over New Years for a local staycation. Front Desk help was the start. Excellent, very helpful. Lobby, modern & clean. Room.clean, modern, a little small, but I'm sure there are other choicesupgrades. Restaurant.clean, stylish, friendly & affordable. Breakfast Buffet. Outstanding - lots to choose from, fresh, healthy or the big breakfast is also available. Real bacon & eggs and home fries/wedges. Well worth the stay. Thank you.

The location can be difficult to navigate due to one-way streets, but upon arrival, the staff are informative, helpful, and courteous, and friendly. The rooms are modern and nice, bathrooms are modern, but a little small. Nice walking distance for tourist destinations like Parliament Hill, Museum of Nature, and others. Close to restaurants, from pubs to upscale dining, also walking distance. Parking can be difficult to navigate, but once settled, its extremely easy to get from your car to your room. Overall, would definitely recommend!

I can't believe how much it cost for a 3 night stay.over $1200.for what? ! A bed & tv.with a bathroom.no complimentary body wash, q- tips, mouth wash.no fridge or microwave, thank goodness for 24 hr Tim Hortons in the lobby.the complimentary coffee in the room was discusting.but there was bottled water.thank goodness because the glasses were dirty.speaking of dirty.the bathroom walls, door and light switch had stains and finger prints.the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. I have stayed in way nicer places in rural Manitoba! Expected more in Ottawa!

The front desk staff was not friendly I had to deal with 3 different ladies and not one had a smile and it seemed to me that they don't like to help me

The stay was great but no information on the event that was happening at the hotel which caused delays with the elevators due to the students from university.

The rooms are a little smaller than I'm used to but comfortable and clean. Great view. Good staff. Rained a bit while staying and they had umbrellas to borrow. All hotels were booked solid and they could not upgrade me to a king, but all in all it waa a good experience
