Delta Hotels by Marriott Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront

Good location, good restaurant but conference and facilities need improvement. We have our meetings there, and appreciate their recent Indigenous language signs. The service at front deak is also very attentive. Recent renovations are nice and the location near the water was good. Restaurant is good - salmon was perfect (but was a 4 hour total experience with heavy wait times). In terms of conference facilities however, for the price, there are several areas for improvement. The food has not changed since we had meetings there - the eggs are powdered and next day didn’t even include toast or eggs (aside from boiled). The lunch is either a super small wrap or cheap pasta - all carbs and little protein. Many of us noted that. At $32 a head for food alone, not worth at all. The internet is horrible, and booted everyone off every 5 or so minutes which was distracting. The staff took away food very quickly and no snacks provided. Also, there are no windows in the conference room and the rooms for stays have very bright lights that beam in - peeling wallpaper and rough condition office chairs. Parking lot security also needs attention - rough area downtown and car was keyed. Would be highly recommending future meetings at Quattro or Water Tower which are more up to date and with less issues in conference facilities.

Tops In Town

One of the most mentionable areas of our stay was the competent and professional staff. They all appear to be well trained and provided service with class. I don't know what other properties are available in Thunder Bay but would certainly stay here again and recommend it to all looking for a first class experience.

Hotel in an excellent location, facing the Saint Marie river. The rooms are excellent - large and clean, the bathroom large and well stocked, the beds comfortable and the TV big - there is a Starbucks for breakfast and a restaurant (which we didn't use). Highly recommended.

Service is deplorable
Food was cold and over cooked.

Waiters acted like they really didn't have any interest.

Restaurant cleaning staff was not good.
Very haphazard.and sloppy

Waited 20 minutes to be seated and the restaurant wasn't busy.

Then we eventually had to go and ask if we could get a coffee. 37 minutes later we got old cold coffee.

Never ever again

This was one of the best Marriot properties we've stayed at. The property is a bit dated, but charming, clean and well maintained. The staff here is the real difference in what made this a great stay. From the front desk to the bartenders, all were simply fantastic. We will definitely return!

Amazing hotel, the kind of quality you'd expect coming up this north! Lobby is beautiful and staff friendly, there is a Starbucks in the front, and a restaurant with a patio in the back. The rooms are amazing, beds are very comfortable, the TV has good channels (most of them) and the washrooms are also nice. Depending where you are, you can get a view of the river! Would definatly come back (if not for the drive).

Very nice hotel right on the waterfront. Most comfortable bed and pillows we’ve had since beginning our journey four nights ago. The food and beverages in the restaurant were well-prepared and presented. Pet friendly with a “wall of fame” for visiting dogs.

I got an email of the bill that I didn’t make. I was calling to confirm if this is a scam email (because everything is correct) or someone steal my identity. The customer service was keep asking the name of the hotel. I said it, and he didn’t explain what exactly he wanted and hang off the call. I stayed in this hotel at 2018, it’s a good experience. However the customer service staff should be trained properly before holding a post.

The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a great view of the river. Loved the river walk. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is right on the water by the boardwalk.
Our server was great after check in and also when we had breakfast. Staff extremely pleasant. The hotel is also dog friendly

The Delta is one of my favorite places to go in the Sault. Their patio is unmatched, cocktails are some of the best in town and the food is consistently good.

Costumer service was not good compare to other delta hotels They didn’t mention about any complimentary breakfast

Great location. They messed up our reservation even though we had a print out of it. Room was not cleaned 3 out of 5 nights until we called, and one of the front desk clerks was snarky and very defensive. Overall don't think i would go back.

Pros: The hotel is right on the water and convenient to town and to the lovely boardwalk. We were in room 824 and had breathtaking views of the canal! The room was clean and beautiful. It was very spacious and had a big comfy sofa in addition to a large desk with plenty of workspace. The bathroom was also very large with lots of counter space and the shower was great!

The staff at the front desk and restaurants and bars were magnificent! So friendly and helpful! We had some great food and nice drinks at the View bar. There is an official Starbucks store on site which was also wonderful.

Cons: According to the front desk, our room was recently renovated. It was a lovely room but there were several design flaws. First of all, the curtains on the window were extremely hard to open and close. Secondly, they put a big black coffee table in the middle of a room with a dark carpet, which can be very painful to one's shins. Also, the lights on either side of the bed were so high up that you couldn't reach them from the bed. And lastly, there was no USB or 110 outlet on one side of the bed. So that person was out of luck as far as charging any devices. These were relatively minor inconveniences but kind of frustrating.

Amazing staff! Hotel is undergoing repairs and so improvements are being made and yet still feels pretty upscale. The boardwalk and nearby park is beautiful. Did I mention the staff is so wonderful!? Nancie and Debbie are so great and made our day for our 5 day workshop. I loved joking with them and they really made our workshop awesome. Abbie was super sweet and encouraged all of us during the workshop. I love this place!

Can't think of a single problem or complaint. Just fine for the business traveller. Oh, and because there's a Starbucks right at the lobby, breakfast has Starbucks, even the buffet.

1. Room was not up to hotel rating.bathroom ceiling pealing off.ventilation not working.
2. Alarm clock was set for 6 am. Probably set by by previous guest and kept on by housekeeping.there was no manual to reset the alarm.
3. Coffee machine not working probably never maintained.
4. We had to disinfect the bed as did not look the sheet were changed by the house keeping

Stayed with family in a double queen room. Had a beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake. The restaurant had good variety, even some vegan options. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Couldn't give 5 stars as it was pricey for a basic room.
