Delta Hotels by Marriott Waterloo

This was a perfect location for my activities. Within walking to U of Waterloo and downtown. Lovely restaurant with good food and excellent service. A nice weekend.

Great hotel, fantastic staff. I found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable but the room was beautiful and very clean.

Price point for a double room at $400+ is CRAZY! I stayed in a king size bed with a free upgraded jacuzzi tub and kitchenette for $240 in Niagara a month ago at a Hilton. Could have at least included parking for free. The bathtub didn't even drain when showering. We stood in a half a foot of water to shower.

Ate at Proof Lounge on Sunday. Very disappointed. My smoked salmon eggs Benedict took over 30 minutes to arrive. Eggs were hard, salmon cold, biscuits dry and minimal hollandaise sauce. The fruit on the side was old looking and totally unappealing. Not sure what went wrong today but this was not what I expected from a Delta Hotel restaurant.

What a pleasant surprise! The Delta hotels affiliated with Marriott was fantastic - clean, well furnished and bright, fantastic and courteous staff, a clean gym and pool area, really nice restaurant and bar area and relatively cheap parking. It was also walking distance to king st and shops and restaurants there.
Also - daily cleaning if you want + free water. In an age where most hotels are taking these perks away unless you pay an arm and a leg - this was a nice surprise.

Excellent hotel, nice clean spacious rooms and prices matches what you are enjoying, great staff good reception will do it again next time in this city.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and a pool, gym.etc.only problem is that there was loud construction going on outside that made some noise

Clean, quiet. 7 minutes walk from restaurants and supermarket.

Huge bathroom but tiny shower.

Connectivity for LAN internet and HDMI for tv.

Front desk service was satisfactory.

The dining experience was not as good as everything else at the hotel.
Thankfully there are several great restaurants in the area.

Very unprofessional sales team. They waste our 2 days for rooms booking and when we confirmed the they said rooms not available. Very disappointing.

Prix excessif avec de nombreux surplus mal indiqués: parking, Wifi. Facture abscons: pleins de lignes incompréhensibles: HST, MAT, Outlets.
Petit-déjeuner correct mais peu varié (omelette et bacon trop cuits à mon goût).

Very friendly.clean rooms. Bed very comfortable. Quiet never heard anyone else while I was in my room.

Made a reservation for a room with a king bed, arrived and was given a room with 2 queen beds. Not a big deal but a bit of a red flag. Food in restaurant was tasty by pricey. There was a problem with my bill, which the first manager said she would take care of, but never did. I had to call back again, and that time Amal took care of it right away which I really appreciated.

The staff are very friendly and provide good service, the room is big and very comfortable. The location is very good. There is a nearby shopping centre, and a beautiful park. They have a good restaurant also. The rooms are clean. They provide the basic things you need such as towels, shampoo, hair dryer, coffee, tea, water. There is an internet connection specific to each room, they have a big TV (I did not need to use it so I cannot give feedback about it). But in general it is a nice place.

Unsanitary pool. Deceptive staff. After a visit to the hot tub, we discovered a thick, viscous layer of black filth in two of the corners. Had not been cleaned in ages. Front desk feigned an apology and then lied to us about our bill. We will not stay in such a place, nor should you.

A very modern hotel. The rooms are very well kept and up to date and offer a lot of technology and just all around smart design. They have USB ports for charging and they also have night lights to read with that are on adjustable arms that you can bend and twist so that you don't blind your partner. The heating system is easy to use. The bathroom was large with a big mirror and a walk in shower. But best of all, it had a night light below the cabinet that would automatically turn on when you came into the bathroom so that you don't blind yourself. At night. The pool was very clean and modern and warm! The hot tub was a good size and they also had an infrared sauna. The workout room had just the right amount of equipment and again was very modern. Overall, it is one of the better hotels we have stayed at.

The hotel was what we intended it to be. It was clean and fresh.
However we encountered an unpleasant woman in the pool asking us if we booked an appointment when there was no reason to as there is not much people.

Made a reservation for 3 adults which was accepted, and the sofa was clearly visible on a picture of the room on the website. Upon arrival, was told that all rooms with the sofa are taken. We have been very explicitly told by the receptionist that she does not care and if we do not like it - we are welcome to just leave (of course, without refund). It was too late; all three of us had to share one king bed.
On top of everything else, the dinner reservation I made well in advance got lost. We dined at the lounge which was inconvenient since my mother-in-law has to use a wheelchair. As it happened, I should have called the restaurant directly, but the lady on the phone never mentioned that and gave assurances that she will take care of everything. Well, she did not.
I put down 3 stars only for the sake of good all times when my wife and I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Everything changed, unfortunately.

Twice this week - Monday night and again this evening - reception and room service were both called a half dozen times from the room in an attempt to connect with the on-site restaurant. Tonight I think someone at reception picked up after 5 tries? Monday A VOICEMAIL WAS LEFT AT RECEPTION FROM THE ROOM, and someone eventually got back to the room to order room service. Tonight this happened shortly after 6PM (not midnight!) ; similar timing Monday.

I know staffing issues are real, however having a front desk that is manned at key times during the day feels like a security piece, as well as it’s just a part of the expectation when you’re paying to stay at a hotel, especially a large chain.

If no one is physically at the front desk, perhaps a call forwarding service could be implemented to make sure people can get through? Everyone has phones!

Never had this issue anywhere, ever. This complaint sounds trite I know, but when you’re travelling for work with limited time and there’s a restaurant on-site and room service offered, not being able to order a mea between meetings was extremely frustrating.

This hotel boasts first “4-star full service hotel” in the area and while our stay was nice it did not live up to that expectation. The staff were incredibly kind, thoughtful and very accommodating. We were disappointed to have to pay for parking and that no meals are included at all in the price. The food at the restaurant, though, deserves 5 stars—it was fantastic and well priced.

The room was nice and clean, but the sheets were so old the elastic was gone and not soft at all. We had a broken TV remote so we had to get the desk to send one up. Also there were 2 TVs and one remote. So when you turned off one TV the other one turned on…annoying. Frequently we tried to call for room service or to have them send up something and we were unable to get through on the line - we were put on hold for a long time and then asked to leave a message that was never returned.

The pool area was in disrepair. The ceiling plaster was falling apart. There was a faux skylight in the center of the pool area that had tiles missing and wires just hanging down…over top of the pool…it may have been safe but it was very disconcerting to look at. Pool area was messy with used towels and we had to call the front desk again to have someone bring down clean towels. It was 1pm and empty so it seemed strange to have such a messy pool space and no towels. The sauna was amazing and definitely deserves 5 stars. Absolutely delightful! And they had a hot tub like area with jets and that was a fantastic surprise.

Overall, we were disappointed by our two night stay. We were expecting more from a “4-star full service” hotel at this price point. It is priced too high for what we got. The staff and restaurant though were fantastic which is why this review gets 3 stars and not fewer.

Nice hotel, staff were sorry helpful and kind. Nice, modern hotel, modern rooms. I'd go back again.
