Food is delicious, just on the more expensive side, but with that being said portion sizes are pretty big.

Arick gave me and my girlfriends great service. The food was not too good as I was on the toilet for a bit after. But overall great experience, will probably come back, however try something different this time. 4/5 stars

I absolutely love this place and I love the food they serve y enjoy it every time, and I have no complaintsaboutthe service, the staff is veryfriendly.
I do have a comment dough, I recently went there with my parents that live in USA (is not Demetres there) and my dad, a diabetic, could not eat or drink anything, what was impressive is that they do have vegetarian options. Is very important to remember that been vegetarian is an option, but been diabetic is not, will be very simple if they add a couple of options with sugar substitutes, in that way they can include more people.

I had a banana brûlée waffle and ice cream. Service was quick and efficient, we were seated after a short wait, the server made us feel welcomed. The waffle itself was delicious, and the presentation was visually appealing. Would come back again!

I want to pre-face this review with saying I have been coming too this location since I was in highschool and never ran into an issue until yesterday.
It was super hot when we walked in (no air conditioning), which was fine and just figured we'd be having ice cream and cold water when sat down. Once me and the three others who were with me were seated our orders were taken and the food came quickly enough. The issue was that I asked for a water 5 times and never received it for the entire duration of our stay:
1st time was during the initial order taking
2nd time was when the food got to us
3rd time we were told the water "should arrive shortly"
4th time my boyfriend went up to physically ask and the server looks at someone else surprised that they hasn't given it to us (I guess it was suppose to be someone else?)
5th time she, the person who gave us our food, says "oh we're still out of cups" to which was a huge surprised as we were never told this and she goes "oh did I not tell you? " which is probably the worst excuse at a restaurant I have ever heard and most likely a lie.
The worst part is when we got up to pay I saw a table next to us with about 4 others all get water and water glasses.
The server must have known we weren't happy because she didn't give us the option to tip and said nothing further to us as she probably didn't care either. The weather was almost 30 degrees outside and to not be served water is a joke lol

Delicious waffles as the brand standards, surprisingly- The cafe latte was very tasty unlike other locations

First time at Demetres, we ordered a Belgian waffle, a sundea and a parfait. The sundea comes in huge portion, good for two maybe three for kids, same with the waffle. Taste wise, its average for me, just chocolate ice cream with junks of brownies and caramel. Maybe other flavors are better.

My experience at demetries today was incredible. I got the Katy Berry and it tasted very good. The service was excellent as well, there were a lot of good staff members such as my server: Marie-Ange and Jada along with Luka, Shruthi, and Wyatt. They were very nice, talkative and always check up on me. Overall 10/10 service and I would highly recommend people to come here at any hour of the day. The managers have hired a great group. The decor of the place is very eye-pleasing, the layout of the place is good and I love the flower on the tables. I’m happy for my experience today. The managers have hired a great staff and they clearly know what they’re doing.

We arrived for dessert in the evening and were seated quickly. We placed our order for the pomme pilot waffle and got it pretty quick. The waffle was big with lots of apples, and sweet crunchy crumble. The cold vanilla ice cream complimented the warm apple of the waffles. This was tasty and I would get it again. Overall the service was quick, friendly and the waffles delicious.

Best Demetres location ever! Love the vibe whenever I go, the staff are super friendly and take care of you without being overbearing! The deserts were solid as always and came out pretty quick considering how busy this location is. Service is on point, thank you Ridge!

One of my favourite cafe spots! I go here often with friends to hang out and enjoy some tasty desserts. The atmosphere is always warm and the staff are always friendly. Highly recommend!

Server was friendly and helpful.
The build your own dessert option was great for us.

I haven’t been to Demetres in awhile and while I thought it was expensive before, it seems like it’s way worse now (obviously I recognize COVID could be factor). However, I really don’t think it’s worth the price at all. These two desserts with tax and tip cost $57… how? ! Mind boggling to me. Definitely do not think I’ll be back. They were noticeably understaffed, that being said our server Jonathan was doing the best he could given how busy it was.

As an American, this restaurant has amazing service who are kind and polite. The food is so delicious. Come try if near Whitby

Great place to visit for your date or meetup. Specifically best place for desserts after movie. Hot employees, great atmosphere. I order the Blush on waffle and it's was Delicious.

Horrible customer service i orderd take out when my friends car broke down so i asked politely if i can dine in and right away they gave me attitude and told me no one that orders take out can dine in.will never come back again!

Overall very tasty desserts (hard to resist!), also love the coffee. Fast, friendly servers.

Worst customer service I've ever seen anywhere. I originally brought in a gift card and asked the server to check it's balance, there where no problems they said there was $10 on the card and even brought a receipt showing the balance. After the meal was finished I went to pay with my gift card long story short after waiting about 20 min apparently there is no money now on my card and instead of taking the $10 off my $15 meal. They force me to pay full price after wasting my gift card and 20 min of my time. Not Happy.

Went here for ice cream with a friend. We were sat separated from everyone else. Was not served or greeted for 30 mins and made eye contact with server multiple times. After complaining we were served but still no water. Asked for water 3 times and finally got it. No accommodations were made for the inconvenience

Our go-to place for large portions of cake and ice cream. We love hitting the cinemas and grabbing late dessert. The portions are humongous and they are definitely sinful. Can’t think of a better ice cream and cake place south of Whitby.

Service is so unbelievably slow. We sat there for almost 2 hours waiting for our food while people who came before us got their food. When our food arrived the food was incredibly sugary. Like seriously the D in this place should stand for diabetes. Prices are ridiculously high and portion sizes are absolutely ridiculous. For such high prices, you would expect them to actually make quality food. So disgusted and will not be returning. #imdone

Felt like the AC could have been on as it was quite low but otherwise, a nice location.

My family had a horrible experience. First of all, almost every table that was empty was dirty, it was hot, and the window was all boarded up.looked very old and unkept. We actually were seated but none came to take our order or acknowledge us. I have no time for this kind of customer service. If the employees don't care why should we! We got up and left, and will never go back. Takes some pointers from Sprinkles and Dip!

Food: Was good but pricy.
Service: Non-existant. Had to ask for water after sitting down for an extend period of time. Asked for the bill multiple times but the server seems to have forgotten about it and just says "sorry, we only have 1 machine. " (5 mins later we see 2 machines working in the store)

Had a really great time here. It was really busy in the store so I expected a long wait. Even though it took long the staff were still friendly and patient. They did a good job, we'll be back soon and hopefully it won't be as crazy haha.

Poor service. I was ignored by staff and was never acknowledged until I walked up the counter on multiple occasions, I basically served myself? No other table was getting this treatment. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

One Star is good enough, 52 Dollar bill and honestly I don’t know for what, half a parfait glass of graham crumbs and some blended pudding and fruit, Way over priced for what you get.staff disorganized, brought one dessert that sat melting on the table until the others came. Nope never again!

The dessert was not up to standard. It lacked both toppings and sauce. I asked my server to put some chocolate sauce on the actual ice cream, she said her manager (Alex) would charge me extra. What a world we live in where you can get below par food and service and then be asked to pay extra. What a joke, worst managed Demetre’s I have been too.

By far the worst Demetres i have been to in Ontario. The Decor and service are awful. Its very unfortunate that we dont have a Demetres that is a bit upscale around us.

Although the food quality is nothing to compare with but the customer service is terrible. I have been here twice and both the times I had to wait for 1 hour. Last time I asked for a latte which did come on time but was cold. Then I waiting for another 30 mins and left the place.

I ended up having amazing Davidoff coffee made with hand frother and 2 cubes of ice. Enjoyed while watching Netflix. (Recipe by myself)

Desert was good, but very slow service and the place wasn’t even busy. Waiting 25 mins after we finished the food to get the servers attention.

Visited last night for dessert at around 9: 00 pm. The place wasn't too busy. We were seated fairly quickly and our server was nice. Small incident with the glass we were served water in, it had a lipstick stain on the rim which was gross but the server apologized and switched it out for us. We ordered 2 crepes and both came out ice cold. I've been visiting demetres for over a decade and I have never had a cold and gummy crepe before. Isn't the point of going to get fresh crepes to have them warm or at least somewhat warm? I asked the server to feel the crepe and she agreed that it was cold. She offered to switch it out but I noticed in the back there were two guys working, one was clearly the one making the crepes, watching as I spoke to the server. They were snickering and laughing as if the mistake they made was hilarious. Even when she took it back, she explained the mistake the person making the crepe and he laughed and had a huge smile on his face. Then she was explaining what had happened to someone in a darker colored apron, he had a smug smile on his face the whole time and rolled his eyes while she was explaining the situation. If you're going to charge 19 dollars for a cold crepe, the least you can do is throw in some decent customer service. I have never been so turned off by an establishment and its staff. Will never be coming back.

Waited 30 mins after being seated and no service what so ever, so walked out and went to one of the other restaurants in the area.

Amazing staff but they need a bigger location! Had to wait about 30 mins for a table and it was weird just standing there staring at people that were literally sitting right beside me. Portions were amazing. You can definitely share!

I review my visit based on environment, food and service.

Food, I only had a coffee I normally do soy milk which is not available at this location. I find that extremely strange. Even Tim Hortons have soy milk. So I had a black coffee my friend had a chai tea and she enjoyed it.

Environment was fine music playing a lot of people enjoying. Washroom was clean as well.

Service was ok. Nothing out of the world.

Overall a decent experience. I will like you guys to bring soy milk and also give some non dairy options on the menu. I mean it’s 2019 and a lot of people just don’t do dairy anymore.
