What a find…can’t believe how good the food is and gluten friendly option’s amazing. The cauliflower wings…yum!

This is definitely the best coffee shop & vegetarian restaurant on Locke Street and my favourite place to stop for a coffee or snack. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. It’s a great spot to meet-up with friends or to work and read. The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. Best chai tea latte in town!

Came here for brunch while touristing in Ontario, ended up coming here three days in a row! Fantastic everything, with extra credit for the cupcakes!

Great food, but extremely disappointed that they serve dairy milk for coffee.

Beware that this is not a vegan restaurant.

Service is ok. They’ve gotten a few things wrong but have always been happy to correct it.

They had a sign outside about a review they had on Google. Not sure if they were being smug, but the sign said "iced coffee and lukewarm service"! I couldn't agree more more about the service. I have went in a few times eager for healthy food, and in return I felt dismissed and unwelcome. I avoid going there as a result.

Best cauliflower bites in Hamilton but you should think about changing the name for the cauliflower appetizer…. I would definitely recommend you change your menu to cauliflower bites instead of cauliflower wings - Cauliflower never had wings before unlike chicken wings. Get your facts straight.

Both food & drinks are good, environment is great, would be perfect if the service was a bit warmer. (could be because it’s our first time in this location)

Delicious! Got the cauli wings, bahn mi and the earl grey lemonade. Very tasty, full of flavor, with fresh ingredients. Will definitely come back!

Very prejudice and judgemental as a medically exempt person they would not allow me in as they are required by health canada.

My roommates and I love this place. We would go quite a bit. We are uni students so we try to not spent much money on take out but Democracy is always a must. Last week I ordered their cauliflower wings (that I love) and they were not cooked at all. The batter was still coating the cauliflower and I also found a hair in one of them mixed in the batter. I emailed them, with pictures, and they never got back to me. I also dm them on Instagram and also never got a response. I was quite disappointed since they are quite pricey. I just would like a response back. Thanks.
**UPDATE: They emailed me back. Not sure they quite believed me about the hair. Did refund me $20 which was nice.

The best and I mean the best bakery goods. Yes they have a limited number of baked goods but what they do have they have mastered the trade! The GF cinnamon buns are the best I’ve ever tasted! Scones and muffins OHHHH my! I would not past them over it’s a MUST if you find yourself on Locke street.

First I must say that the customer service is top notch. I came in at around 11: 30am to pick up a beyond meat sandwich combo, nachos, and the banh Mi sandwich. The lady that took my order over the phone was very nice, patient, and accommodating. Must I say that the food was unbelievably delicious! You can taste the freshness. I can guess that the chef in the back
was having a blast laughing up a storm while cooking the food with positivity. You can taste the love in the food! I will definitely stop by for another bite!

Some of my favorite food in the city.
I'm absolutely hooked on the fries supreme, it's probably one of my fav foods ever. The BBQ cauliflower wings are always on point and all the desserts are to die for.
Highly recommend to any vegan, or non vegan. The food is spectacular for ANYONE

I was in Hamilton the other day and did a take out for 4 people. We shared the barbecue cauliflower, taco salad and a vegetarian sandwich that had grilled tofu, and assorted sliced vegetables in it. The sandwich was small for sharing, but we managed. All the food was delicious.

I had the Vegan Ban-Mi with their fries supreme and my wife had the Beyond Burger and Mac'n'Cheeze

Fantastic vegan options. The Ban-Mi was better than the beyond burger. The mushroom pate was delicious. Great portions too! We had enough leftover for breakfast the next morning.

First I need to say the coffee drinks and deserts are out of this world. Super cute space to hang out before COVID and hope it can be once again!

Such a great place! The cauliflower wings and the Mac and cheese are sooo delicious! It’s cool that you can use chalk on the wall and tables while waiting for your order

What began as a very not good day.ended in a better good feeling day thanks to Democracy service and delicious fun foods. I came for a coffee and a treat. What warm and kind service can do -great choice in staff- AND a dip of homemade smore's in rich damn good tasting coffee can do! Thanks a ton Democracy. Don't forget what you do as a small local business!

Disappointed unfortunately, based on the reviews I was expecting more. Couple points. The food prep time is long at this restaurant, you must order ahead or don't be in a rush. The person who took my order that was intended for take out did not tell me I ordered the longest wait time item till when I was going to pay. I changed my order and asked for something fast. It still took 15 min to get a salad, when I left the restaurant by-law had already pulled up on the street- this is not an area you can do a short park with out a ticket. When I got home 10 minutes later I was surprised the vegi meat on the taco salad was cold (not room temp) I am unclear what took so long to prep this salad, no fresh vegis are cut on it ect.it is all from pre made or bottled product. This is a 2 min salad. As a side note the mixed green mix was poor quality and one of the 1st things I learned when working in restaurants if a item is low quality, take it off the menu that day and don't serve it. (for the price point I would expect better from this place) I have been a vegetarian for 20 years so I was happy to try this place.: (

We did take out yesterday of their banh mi sandwich and nachos. Very flavourful. Fresh. A little pricy. But I guess to get good quality vegan food that tastes good too, have to shell this much out haha. At least looking at the market pricing. Their staff is super friendly. There’s a good ambience in their. Seems clean. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant has delicious food, reasonable prices, and great service. They accommodate gluten free very well which is a big plus. Definite recommend!

The food is always fantastic! The Big Mac Pizza is one of my all time favorites. The staff are always helpful and friendly.
