Denninger's Foods of the World - Hamilton Downtown

Denninger's is always a treat to shop at. They have a good selection of imports and the food bar is delicious. A bit pricy but that's to be expected with imports.

The sausage on a bunch with sauerkraut was great. The Big Ben Schnitzel was a hardy lunch. A continuous stream of people lunched here.

Pack your own bags, not even an offer to help, felt like the volume of my purchase was annoying to her, probably the best excuse for automated checkouts. Hoping Denningers in downtown Hamilton considers hiring new cashier (s).

A perfect example of what a European/German-centric grocery should be!
Sadly, the volume of customers in the store today (a Saturday afternoon), like many for years now pales in comparison to how busy this location used to be on weekends. Sign of the times unfortunately.

Love the selection here. Staff is friendly. The hot food station is bumping. The bakery guy is awesome. Then there is the cashier who talked with ppl ahead of me but frowned and didnt speak to me. Will have to avoid her if I think to spend my money at this location.

Always love their potato salad but today wow it was terrible! They for got some ingredients or it was spoiled. Worst salad ever!

Great comfort food that’s fresh tasty a lot of selection of desserts of all kinds. The staff is always a delight:) bravo

Good food at the counter, and a wide selection of international items available in the grocery portion. Bear in mind that the prices reflect the variety, obscurity, and rarity of the items, so probably not for every day shopping unless you're hankering for something from across the ocean.

When I was traveling through Lisbon, I bought a bag of freshly baked Portuguese tarts (yes, they sell them wax paper bags). They were the best dessert I've ever had. Sort of like custard meets crème brûlée. In the years since, I've tried to find equivalent pastries in cities across the US and Canada. The Portuguese tarts at Dnniger's are the closest I've ever found. Amazing.

Hi end Deli / grocery store with some nice deals. Staff were friendly and helpful. First time. Planning to return.

This place out to be ashamed of themselves the at they gouge their customers. You know damn well you're over charging for a great many things in your store. I'm sure many things are in the correct price range for you to make a profit but I also know most of the things you gouge on are certainly not worth what you are charging. Fruits and vegetables. Breads. Eggs. Give us a break! Greedy.

Always a great specialty food shop to browse, with friendly, helpful staff, a bright & spacious seating area to enjoy a meal, & also a reliable source year-round of terrific, yet affordable gift baskets with varied prices, up to $100.00.

Great selection of (mostly European) products. Definitely a great place to shop if you like European chocolate, cheese and cured meat. Price are pretty reasonable!
Their pastries are quite good too, loved the maple walnut butter tart! Nice staff too!

When I visit from Toronto regularly, this is my go to place for European treats. Being of European background myself I appreciate the quality and many options that you provide, especially the Bakery. Whomever manages the bakery does an awesome job, customer service is so helpful & pleasant. Love this place.

Good for a quick meal at their deli restaurant plus they have a full line of popular and hard to find European food items. The store also sells gift baskets of various sizes for any occasion. Watch for weekly specials. They also offer premade meals fresh or frozen for take home. A fresh meat and pastry selection is also available.
