After being told that I should have my upper wisdom teeth removed soon by two different doctors (although no issues involved), I had a chance to have a consultation with Dr. Alavi. Unlike other clinics, he suggested to have a thorough examination: X-ray and pictures of my teeth from different angles. His determination was that it does not look or feel urgent, and I have an option to monitor rather than remove them right away. He was very detailed and professional. (So was his team who ran the examination)
I appreciate his honesty. I am going back for cleaning soon!

Best dental experience I had in Canada. I did cleaning/ x-ray and check up with Dr. Alavi.

CHECK UP: I really liked that Dr. Alavi was very rational and reasonable in his recommendations. Clearly provided me a picture of what will happen next to my teeth. And as some other dentist did in the past, he did not try to sell me some additional or unnecessary procedures but rather made me aware of what I can do / should do / and need to consider.

EXTRA: To add he also provided with additional information on mouthwashes etc that was never brought to my attention before and i appreciate it since that will help me to take care of my teeth even better.

CLEANING: I hardly remember having non painful cleaning where i was asked what I did like and did not like in previous cleanings. Hygienist was also very considerate of how I feel and what she was doing.

RECEPTION: Also to mention two girls that work at reception very polite, quick and informative. Submitted my claims and provided with print out on reimbursement. Great.

Really admire his approach and would continue coming here and definitely would recommend to others. Thank you:)

I’ve been going to Dentistry on King to see Dr. Alavi since I moved to Toronto a few years ago. As I have a not-so-mild fear of dental work in general … it might be more meaningful when I say: THIS PLACE IS GREAT. The Doctors and personnel here are lovely, the technology is top notch, the office is super clean and they have great art to top it off. They have been gentle with me given my phobia and I’ve had nothing but great experiences here (even for more serious procedures). Highly recommend.

I was visiting Toronto from Dublin, experienced really bad gum pain. My friend recommended Dentistry on King to me. In less than 2 hours I was able to get an emergency appointment. I originally went to Dr. David Cheng for over 14 years now. Over that time, I have found David, an excellent professional dentist who really cares about his patients. This has become more evident now that he has selected Dr. Mahan Alavi to join him on his team. Having Dr. Mahan Alavi as my dentist for the last couple of years has continually made going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. He and his kind and caring staff that work at their office changed my fears of going to the dentist into a pleasant experience. I would also like to point out that Mahan and David continued to embrace all modern kinds of technology to benefit the patent in many ways. The two examples of this are digital x-rays allowing everyone to instantly view x-ray results and a CNC (Computer numeric control) machine that can create replacement teeth. Quite an impressive office, I must say. Having a fantastic dential team like Dr. Mahan Alavi and Dr. David Cheng is one of the great benefits of living in Toronto.

I usually afraid of going to dentist office. But Dr. Mahan and staff make you feel comfotable and relaxed. Very friendly and professional. He is trusting, caring and explains procedures clearly. I have never felt more relaxed and comfortable in a dentist office. A very nice person!

Dr Alavi is so wonderful! He is dedicated and very gentle. He put a crown on my tooth today, all the procedure in the same day.

Not pleasant experience for the first consulting appointment. The doctor was late for almost 20min not because of anything but talking to someone else even I arrived and was waiting for him in the room. Also, the doctor suggested a bunch of non-necessary charges including sedation and PRF for my wisdom teeth removal (I asked again to ensure I was hearing correctly from a perspective that I have went through couple dental surgeries prior). The doctor Alavi didn’t check my mouth before I go - the appointment was booked for 45min with 144$ and the doctor simply talked for most 20min. I was told I should expect a follow up after the doctor takes another closer look into my CTs - but I never heard back. In short, thought it would be a long - term dental office choice but was disappointed.

The staff at Dentistry on King are always professional and do so with a smile on their face. I recently had a situation that needed to be addressed and Dr Alavi provided me with a detailed account of my options. I would highly recommend Dentistry on King for your dental needs!

I've now been to Dentistry on King a number of times and I love the service. Dr. Alavi makes each experience extremely comfortable and the appointments can always be made for the very near future, which is wonderful if you want to be proactive with your dental journey. It's right downtown and in an extremely convenient location. The hygienists and dental assistants are also always friendly. At this point I feel like I'm just listing things I like about the office but hey, that's probably a great thing.

I came here last year during COVID, I did not currently have a dentist but I desperately needed a chip fixed. Dr. Alavi helped me out and I was so happy with the experience that I became a patient.

I’ve been there four or five times now and every experience has been great, from the front desk team to the Dental Hygienists and Dr. Alavi as well.

I’ve have never had a dentist sit down in an office with me and go over my X-rays and treatment plan in such detail before, and discuss options instead of just telling me what he thought I should do. I really appreciate that kind of “educational” part of medical appointments, it gives you more sense of control over your own care.

I’ve noticed that everyone there explains everything they are doing and why, which is great…especially for people anxious about dentists or just anxious about not understanding what is happening to them in a medical setting.

I’ve read other reviews and they echo how I feel as well. It’s just a great team of people and they are very kind and good at what they do.

My first visit was great, The front desk staff and doctor's assistant were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
Dr. Alavi explained all the work to be done in detail. He took the time to answer all my numerous questions and was nothing but patient, thoughtful, and professional!
I feel that I am in good hands. This place is the best I highly recommend!

Recently I visited dentistry on king with Dr. Alavi. I had a problem with my denture which was complicated. I was treated with courtesy and scientific solution. This clinic has helped me a lot. My thanks to Dr. Alavi and his staff.

Definitely recommend, based on my personal experience specifically w Dr Alavi (routine fillings and a molar extraction). Great work on the extraction, I was in and out of the office in 30 minutes, the actual extraction was probably ten minutes including the local anesthetic. It healed quickly and nicely. He has a great bedside manner (or should I say chairside in this case), relaxed even under stress, works with you based on your needs and budget, expresses what’s the ideal course of action but definitely no aggressive upselling. He also has great connections if you need an endodontist for complex root canals etc. Lastly I like the more modern and client centric vision he brought to this practice, staff is great, they do personalized follow ups after bigger procedures, more of a holistic view, things that can be digitized got digitized and save time, etc.

This is an excellent clinic. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Tatiana is an exceptional hygienist who shares observations and solutions for dental health. Dr Alavi is knowledgeable with excellent professional judgement. He is also a highly skilled surgeon.

I went there back in 2020 for toothache and my tooth removed and I thought everything fine and I was happy. I just thought about only their price that $357 as very expensive comparing to other dental clinics. I discovered a new dentist, their price cheaper and my dentist super good. So today my dentist saw that on the gum spot where tooth removed by Dr. Alavi, there was a one piece of root was stucked on my gum! My dentist said, when tooth removed this piece was forgotten in gum and when the time passed this rooth piece comes down to out of gum like new tooth coming out. I was shocked! I couldn't believe that for such a expensive service there was rooth piece forgotten in the gum. I don't suggest this clinic to anyone.

Got my 4 wisdom extracted and with the indications altogether it's been 2 weeks and it is going great.

I highly recommend Dentistry on King and Dr. Alavi and his team. From the very beginning everything happened promptly and in a timely manner. Very accommodating atmosphere. All measures were taken to create a clean environment and all the COVID protocols were in place. Dr. Alavi is a very through and passionate dentist with a very comprehensive approach to oral health taking his time to go into depth and explain things. Honestly, I have never seen any dentist explaining in depth and emphasizing prevention as much as Dr. Alavi! Norie at the front desk, the assistants and the hygienist Mina were all great and welcoming as well. I have done some fillings and wisdom extraction. All went great with minimal pain and absolute no discomfort. Highly recommend this place. They have amazing arts too!

Just had my wisdom tooth extraction done with Dr. Alavi and it was the easiest dentist appointment i’ve had. Dr. Alavi walked me through the entire procedure and made sure i was comfortable although out the entire thing. Staff were amazing and very attentive as well. Before the surgery Dr Mahan Alavi explained everything to me in detail. Next day after the surgery the clinic called me and checked that I'm doing fine.

*Message for those who nerveous about their wisdom teeth extraction:
My wisdom teeth extraction was under the iv sedation (check youtube there are lots of examples). Until the end I doubted that the sedation will work on me 100% but after the nurse connected the iv to me I asked her "when should it start working on me? ", the next thing I remember it's waking up at home.

I had an excellent experience with this Dental Office. I work in medicine and thus have a high standard for who I choose to look after my personal health. I have had recurring dental issues since I was a child that I been reading/studying/consulting on in order to get to the root of the issue (pun intended). This is the first dental office and dentist (Dr. Mahan Alavi) that took the time to answer questions, discuss my dental issues/lifestyle/diet etc and take time afterwards to explain everything surrounding his initial assessment. I’m lucky to have benefits through work but I would recommend this dentist to everyone as it is worth the investment to prevent further issues down the road. Dr. Alavi is humble yet confident and is genuinely interested in bettering himself as a clinician by reviewing the emerging science on holistic dentistry that considers the effects of diet/lifestyle/sleep on oral health. I will be returning for regular checkups at this office and will be recommending them to my friends and family in the area.

Amazing service. I came in for a checkup and was referred to a periodontist for a follow up. I realized afterwards that I’d forgotten to ask about the specific diagnosis, which wasn’t an issue at all because I was able to ask follow up questions via text - the clinic really goes above and beyond.

I had the best experience here. The environment was very friendly. The place was CLEAN and when your appointment is on 4: 00 o'clock the doctor will be working on your teeth at 4: 00. Doctor Alavi is very knowledgeable and very friendly at the same time. I did a full checkup the other day and he explained why I need a filling and talked about my teeth and gum with me patiently.

The staff are extremely friendly! And the way they carry out their cleaning procedure is so efficient that it is the only dentistry location I feel best comfortable at.
