Since my last visit with Malik I have reduced the cream application to help make it last. I have had significant improvements from the cream. The itching and pain are are minimal as of the following from visit. Currently I continue to apply the cream only on affected areas. I have noticed I am still getting some small pimple like bumps in some of the old areas but nothing significant. I have taken photos which will show mostly scared areas from previous issues past.

I was told a shaved mole would leave a scar similar to a cigarette burn, but mine turned a dark brown with a black circle in the middle. Returning for a follow up appointment, the doctor looked, said it was okay and that was it. Reading reviews online by other dermatologists, they say their work should not leave any dark circles when healed. This tells me that they did not do a good job at removing the mole. The mole was smaller than the scar left behind which is now the size of a dime. Would not recommend.

Have been going to DermEffects for a little over 2 years. I find the entire staff very friendly. Dr. Loo runs a professional, efficient operation. My entire experience has been very positive.

If there ever was an example of medical professionals hosing OHIP, this is it. I paid to have something removed to avoid the option of multiple return visits. Had a follow up a month later and the nurse (who had to scrape my foot on her knees with my foot resting on an office chair till I offered to adjust so she could sit on a bench) indicated all was well and they got it. Doctor sprays again however, and I ask if that's it and she said oh no, it takes multiple treatments. Did not comment on its condition or anything, did not say when I should return, didn't really say anything. TERRIBLE communication. Will not be returning.

I am very grateful to have connected with Dr Loo and Lin at DermEffects for a psoriasis drug study and then for treatment! My experience during the drug study was always positive. The office staff and research team are very efficient, friendly and supportive despite it obviously being a very busy practice. I have been a patient in this clinic for almost 2 years now. Dr. Loo sent away the mole for biopsy that came back as nodular cancer, and is diligent about regular follow up for a full body exam to determine if there are any new areas of concern. She has also said that any time I have a problem with something on my skin, I should call and they will see me asap. I have done that just once.and I got an appointment within 36 hours. I appreciate the care and concern.

A visit to Dr Loo, s office is a pleasant experience. Staff is pleasant, you are always treated with respect and when you leave you know you have been well looked after, all your questions answered and all your needs meet. You are in good hands

Worst experience I've had with a doctor.

Waited around 6-8 month for an appointment. Then got there on time. Sat in a room for 45 min, only seeing the doctor for a total of maybe 10min (max).

I had to have a cyst removed. She said if I wanted to do the procedure today or book another appointment in the future. I said let's do it today. She verbally quoted me $125. I agreed and the procedure took 5 min.

I get the bill. IT SAYS $225. I tell the receptionist that she quoted me $125. She says no it's $225 on the paper.

Terrible communication and service. Believe the reviews that are similar to mine because by the looks of it, the good reviews from th place are due to some sort of free trial that patients underwent to boost the rating of this business.

Went here to have moles removed. Her staff were rude when after an hour i had not been seen. Instead of apologizing I was sent back to room. Dr apologize for wait. Nor that staff had misplaced my appointment chart.will never go back

I highly recommend DermEffects. The staff are wonderful and the office is run super efficiently. I wasn't kept waiting long at any stage of my appointment. I checked in, was seen by the dermatologist's assistant Nina, seen by the dermatologist Dr. Loo, given freezing, got biopsied by Nurse Tammy, and booked my follow-up appointnent, all in 30 minutes start to finish. Phenomenal!

I participated in a clinical trial through Dr Loo. The process was very well laid out and all appointments were efficiently booked and scheduled. The team was friendly and professional and I would not hesitate to participate in a trial i the future

I see Dr Loo periodically for skin cancer issues. She is professional and very efficient with her time. It is a busy practice. So I do not really expect bedside manner, I am just glad she is so experienced and extremely qualified. I could use a dermatologist in Hamilton at half the distance but I prefer to see the doctor I have come to trust.

I participated in an intensive short-term Botox study for frown lines. This consisted of many appointments over an almost 3 month period. It is a very busy clinic but I found the staff and Dr. Loo friendly and efficient. Tina, the study organizer, is a powerhouse and a definite asset to Dr. Loo's team. I am looking forward to getting more information about procedures that may help with my one stubborn frown line and would recommend this clinic to anyone.

I would not recommend her, her professional attitude is not acceptable. Being up in age she could not give you the time of day. Looked at me with my mask on and prescribe a bunch of stuff that I was not interested. I went to her with a problem not for cosmetic treatment. She is more interested selling products and ignoring the problem.
She is not a specialist.

I absolutely love to come see Dr Loo, the staff are always welcoming and smiling and each one brings different talents and are beautifully smiling. Dr Loo herself is someone I look up to, and that’s not easy. She’s smart, personable, talented, professional, dresses well (is also pretty and pleasant) she’s an artist in many ways. I’ve learned all of the art in the building was by Dr Loo herself. The building is also beautiful and I always feel happier after coming to see her. Also she really has helped with my skin problems. I couldn’t like this Drs office more.

Worst dr I have ever met. The whole appointment took less than 5 min. She refused to listen to my issues and wanted to leave to see other patients. I wish I can give 0 stars.

Dr. Loo and the staff are all professional, friendly and polite. Never had any issues with being rushed like previous written reviews. Been seeing her for over a year now for HS and using AbbvieCare (which is an amazing company also)! She has never pushed her products, art or the local pharmacy on me. I take my prescriptions to my local one in my town.

I was struggling with both eczema and acne to which I was referred to her for my eczema. She was able to prescribe me something that made my eczema so much better to live with. When I showed her my acne and how much it was impacting me she also agreed to help me out and first started with multiple topicals. They didn’t work and gave me bad rashes so we decided I should go on accutane which worked amazingly for me! My skin is beautiful and clear now and I can’t wait for the dryness to settle out a bit. She was always pretty much on time for her appointments which is really important to me. She never spent too much time in the room but got to the point of the issues which is how I think she keeps such a busy schedule manageable to see so many people. It was a six month waiting list to see her but thankfully I got in on a cancellation list.

After waiting for an appointment for a whole year, the dermatologist did not know why I was there - She told me that herself!

She gave me a medication that i reacted very badly to and a steroid medication (which I didn’t even know she prescribed till I got to the pharmacy… of course I declined)

I had used Betaderm cream 2 years ago which made my condition worse. This information is right there in my file….

If she had at least read the file at anytime within the 1 year waiting period. She would have been better prepared to prescribe or diagnose.

Since I don’t need cosmetics to make my face look better and CARP is a more complex skin disorder, I’ll schedule with a doctor that actually studies and believes in making their patients better.

Dr. Loo and her team were very pleasant. They knew exactly what they were doing and were very polite.

Wait for more than 8 months for a 3 minute appointment, just 1 issue per appointment, if you have 3 issues is going to take you 3 years 1 year per issue. So dissatisfied

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Loo, and would return there with confidence should the need arise.

Dr. Loo's work was careful and deliberate, with any of my questions were respectfully addressed. The mood projected throughout the minor surgery was calm and steady.

Dr. Loo and her staff were professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process from booking through to follow-up lab results. Communication was prompt and reliable.

Dr Loo listened to my concerns and prescribed me a medication. When I came back to see her with concerns the medication wasn't working, her response was that she felt my skin looked better, yet initially she had barely assessed my area of concern so I was unclear on how she drew that conclusion. When I told her that no they were not better and indeed worse, she appeared quite defensive and basically shut down all the questions I had about managing my issue. She also suggested I find a new job in order to manage my issue long term.a very inconsiderate thing to say to someone who is looking for assistance with a work related skin injury. It was an unprofessional way to act.

I felt I recieved little guidance and she is simply drug prescriber, no suggestions of strategies to reduce my eczema except for drugs. Sadly she stood up to leave the room before I could ask any more questions. I felt it was unprofessional and that she didn't want to spend the time with her patient.

I participated in a clinical trial for the nodular prurigo skin condition
So far I don't know if I got the real thing or a placebo.
My condition has improved slightly.
The requirements and due diligence imposed on the ground staff can be quite daunting as they have to remember all the steps of various studies they are working on.
1. This causes some anxiety for the patient as you see in real-time confusion on steps required for the study I'm involved with.
Further anxiety is contributed on the monthly visit day because of
2. (fasting). The procedure should first eliminate the end of fasting as soon as possible, by taking the blood and urine sample first, rather than having to wait sometimes 30-45 minutes to complete those tasks.
3. Interview, testing room. There are two rooms used for this process, unfortunately, these rooms are far from soundproof as I can clearly hear another patient's private information.
This issue frankly exists throughout all Dreameffects patient waiting rooms!
4. Interview room also has a locked refrigerator storing unit. Too often interruptions are made for the need to access the refrigerator, often people come in unannounced.
5. Front line staff. As I have mentioned in the past all organizations are only as good as their weakest link. It's important that staff project calm confidence in their dealings with patients. Staff that is out of breath or seemed disorganized or simply behind in their work, project the wrong vibes.
6. Customers (patients) feel the strain or pressure emanating from the staff. The Dermatologist business is a volume business that rewards the owner for the more Customers (patients) seen.
This makes perfect sense for the owner, however, the Customers (patients) don't share that feeling.

She doesn't act as a Doctor with doctor responsibilities! She just want to sell her expensive services and products in 1 minute appointment. I asked for specific item and she said No! I do not prescribe it but I have other things that you can buy here! If Skin Doctor does not prescribe then who does! So Disappointing, I waisted my time to wait almost a year to meet her!

Was referred to Dr Loo for a skin lesion biopsy and removal. Extremely professional, and was treated in a timely manner. Dr Loo and her team completed my surgery successfully and I am completely satisfied. I highly recommend Dr Loo

I used to struggle with terrible psoriasis on my hands, knees and elbows. Several doctors tried countless treatments on me. Creams, patches, lights, pills, I tried them all and none of them worked. Then I met Dr. Loo and my life changed. She recommended an injection called Tremfya. After three injections and a few months my skin was already looking and feeling better. After six months it was completely cleared up. I've been self injecting every 12 weeks for 2 1/2 years now and it's never returned. Hand modelling career back on!
Nobody enjoys spending time in doctor's offices, but at least Dr. Loo's office will get you results. I highly recommend her practice and Tremfya.

The most unprofessional doctor's ever my eyes seen. Lack of dermatology experience. Poor quality and communication. I don't recommend anyone to visit at all.

As if the lack of consideration for my time wasn't enough.when Dr. WEI came in for the assessment SHE DID NOT ADDRESS MY CONCERN AND REFUSED TO ANSWER MY SKIN ISSUE other than the main issue. She responded arrogantly and want to run fast to other patients.

Also artist with injections, relaxers and fillers. I wish I would have started coming here sooner.when I leave I can’t wait for my next treatment.

Everyone at Derm Effects was wonderful to my mother and me. First, we had to change the appointment due to bad weather. Knowing my concern about getting my mother seen quickly as the growth on her temple was getting larger by the day and she had other skin cancers in the past, the staff made sure to get us in the very next week. They also said Dr. Loo would likely remove the growth the day she first saw it because getting my 95 year old mother to her office, wasn't easy. Dr. Loo did the surgical procedure necessary plus spot treated some other suspicious areas on my mother's skin even though we should have had other appointments for those. Dr. Loo and her staff are professional, helpful and accommodating. We couldn't ask for more.

We have been going yearly for years and have always been well taken care of. She always checks what we asks her to and sees things that we don’t. If we need to have anything removed it is done gently and quickly. We both would fully recommend Dr Loo to our friends

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience getting my wife a surprise for her birthday. Dr. Wei Jing Loo was very helpful giving me knowledge about the products I was purchasing because I literally had no idea what I was doing very glad they were able to help my wife out and give her the birthday she deserved.

I had a Facial with DermEffects. Dr. Loo is very knowledgeable and let me know what she was doing ever step of the way. Very thorough and she advised me on a good skin care routine for my skin care type.

DermEffects is truly an artist In her trade I’m always happy with the results she gives me, very natural She is honest in telling you what she thinks and if you should not get a particular procedure done I love her conservative approach and friendly.

Two words come to mind. Cold, heartless. Dr.never introduced herself, which I find unprofessional and generally bad manners. Gave my little 89yr.old mother needle in her back, jabbing it in 6-8 times making my Mom jump each time. We weren’t aware this was going to happen. Knew there would be a needle but not like that! Also don’t know what the injection was. My fault, should have asked I guess, but all happened so quickly. Appt, was for 1pm. We waited for an hour. Dr. Loo had no bedside manner what so ever. Totally unprofessional and would not recommend to anyone. We will NOT be returning.

I was examined thoroughly and on my way 5 mins BEFORE my scheduled appointment. Very friendly. Nice building.

As a patient I felt more like a number than a person. The doctor didn't even introduce herself once during my first visit. I wouldn't have known she was the doctor if I didn't do some research previous to my appointment. The staff doesn't answer phones. I called and the automated system said there were no callers before me and I was #1 in queue. Phone rang for 10 mins and auto hung up. I also left a message on their other line and never received a call back. It's been 3 weeks. I also haven't received a call for my results from bloodwork or any follow up appointment. I was told they would be calling me to schedule a phone appointment. The doctor gave me no additional information regarding my condition. She just regurgitated the notes the nurse took. She didn't even perform any closer inspections or even look at me. I also called inquiring on the prescription she wrote. The pharmacy I go to is having issues finding the right dosages. I called for advice and haven't heard back.

I am a patient of Dr. Loo, she is very thorough and really does care about her patients. I struggled with acne for years and shes made me feel more confidant than ever. Her staff are very professional and so kind. Would definitely recommend her.

I went in for mole removals. I waited for an hour in a room by myself. Dr Liu came in before her nurse did and put a scalpel against my skin before asking if the area had been numbed - it had not. She said 'I almost cut you! ' and laughed. I was advised to keep the stiches in for 14 days - my skin reacted to the stitches and I now have a white scar where every single stitch was for all three incisions. The nurse who took out the stitches at my family doctor was surprised and angry at how they looked. She asked me who had done the mole removals.

Like most doctors in London, Dr Liu is overwhelmed with the number of patients and her responsibilities. I felt invisible any time I was at her clinic. If you care about how your skin looks, I would advise you to go to a cosmetic surgeon for any mole removals.

I had a skin scan done here. Dr. Loo always seems to be in a rush. Doesn't take the time to explain. Took a mole out, In and out in 5 minutes. No way she did a complete skin scan. I have other spots. When I told her I had other spot, she asked where. Maybe because I am a man. Not sure. My follow was no better. In and out in a minute. Told me to go to my Dr. For follow up's. My Dr wouldn't know a bad mole That's why he sent me here. A proper skin scan should have been done. I am unhappy that more time wasn't spent on the scan.

I have been going to Dr. Loo for awhile because she has a caring personality and her office has very nice staff and friendly. You do not get that often enough.l will keep going back. I find when you have an appointment with her you are in at that time none of this an hour later.

Had a problem I was struggling with for years. Now I feel more confident than I have in a very long time. Very happy with DermEffects.

I wanted to help with this study because it is important to find medicated creams to help to keep psoriasis under control or better yet to cure people from psoriasis.
The study went well for me. I had a hard winter with lots of discomfort from psoriasis. The cream I had did not help me a lot. But knowing that I was under the care of a good team made it easier. Now that I have the real cream and simmer is around the corner it's already must better.
I was treaded with respect and things were explained well.
