All the staff here are SO nice and helpful! I've walked in here many times with an idea, but zero experience in whatever project I've decided to take on. The staff here have always been so encouraging and enthusiastic about my projects. They also have a nice selection of items and art supplies, but it's the team that makes this art shop shine:)

DeSerres seems to have carefully removed just about anything a serious artist could want from their inventory. On my last visit I had a laundry list of basic supplies to shop for, and walked away empty-handed.

Except for the lady in the framing department, employees on my last few visits just shrugged and said they'd never heard of.anything I listed. Without even looking things up, or asking around. Or anything, really. Even when the store was empty.

Examples:

* Kolinsky brushes
* chalk pastels
* certain kinds of artists inks
* satin glazing liquid
* entire ranges of other products

Everything I looked for was either MIA or "oh, we used to carry that 10 years ago, but discontinued it (shrug) ".

Nobody was interested in helping and the only thing this location seems willing to do is sell $10 sets of felt markers to school kids for the "sale" price of $20, with student ID.

Maybe try Above Ground's main location or just order online, but don't bother with DeSerres.

Excellent location, albeit smaller than some other shops. The employees were super nice and helpful.

Amazing stuff, excellent art supplies, a bit expensive but you will get everything you are looking for.

Comme j'habite dans le quartier, c'est mon endroit de prédilection pour me procurer le matériel dont j'ai besoin pour mes projets d'art ou de bricolage. Ils ont une vaste sélection à toute gamme de prix/ As I live close by, this store is my go to place for art stuff. They have a lot of choices and a large selection of materials for all sorts of arts or craft projects.

I got a sketchbook from there and it was a really good experience. If you're a student, you're gonna love it because you'll be getting some discount as they'll make you a membership card right away if you have your student ID with you. They're super helpful too, I recommended this shop to some of my friends and I would definitely visit that place again.

Great place to find any art supplies you need. They even have some Lego if you're looking for a place to grab a quick birthday gift for a kids party. I have used the framing service in the past and been very pleased with the results.

Great, well stocked art supply store very close to the subway station for easy access. Although pricey, you'll definitely get good quality for your dollar.

Really friendly staff, amazing location. For craft supplies in East Danforth, this place can't be beat. Right next to Coxwell station, *huge* compared to most stores in the area, and they offer their full suite of products and services. Usually big stores like this don't make it on this strip, but DeSerres is just small enough to make it work. Hoping they stick around so I can avoid buying supplies off of Amazon or driving all the way to Scarborough.

This shop has most of what I need to complete my art pieces. Families with young children can also get supplies for young budding artists Very helpful, friendly service with discounts for people who become members.

Everyone was very nice and I found exactly what I was looking for. Getting the student discount is nice and easy just have your student ID with you.

The staff were knowledgeable and I found more than I was looking for. Everything was neatly organized too.

Stock is dodgy at times at this location. Sometimes you go in and they have just what you need, other times you're looking at a row of empty shelves. The staff are all very kind and helpful, and it is good to have a craft and art supply store in the neighborhood.

Ordering for curbside pick up was fast and efficient.

Sent an email with the supply list, and an employee got back to my within 5 minutes of sending. They did not have everything in stock, which is totally fine (it's covid times) but the employee gave me plenty of alternative options. I am very happy with my purchase:)

They are literally turning sales away at the door and shipping items that are already in store. No wonder the prices are so terrible.
Competitors take an hour for curbside pick up.

Wonderful people and store. Was looking for a particular marker to autograph our upcoming album on vinyl and the lady we dealt with knew exactly what I was looking for. A great help and everyone there was so nice to encounter. Definitely a return visit will happen

All those hard to find items are always here. Great art place, my family buys a lot of stuff from here

Great Customer Service staff was very helpful with me getting all my items, I even went back with another friend the next day for more items SUPER TEAM.

Very helpful staff. I was looking for a large sketch board I couldn’t find anywhere, and the lady on the phone suggested an alternative solution that was pocket friendly. They are very knowledgeable and their service is amazing. I love how easy it is to order and pick up curb side. And they offer a student discount, which Above Ground is not doing right now. Right now is the time when student discount is especially helpful - not that many jobs. Every little bit helps. Thank you DeSerres!

The customer service here has really suffered as of the COVID era. Shoulder empty and you're always looking for products that aren't there.

I called around 5: 05 and put my order for pick up. I called again around 5: 55 and said that I was running late but i am on my way. I got at the store around 6: 02 and there were 3 ladies at the store staring at me at the door. I called 4 times and nobody pick up the phone. Then, one of the lady finally open the door and told me that they closed at 6 and I told that I called earlier to pick up my order and I am running late. The lady even told me that they already closed the all cash register but When Ingot there at 6: 02, they haven’t started closing the cash register yet. I’ve been knocking at the door for 5 minutes and the three lady inside just stare at me.

Wish they knew when they would get more white alcohol ink in. Other than that. Not bad prices and a neat store.

Good inventory of art and drafting supplies. Unfortunately the prices seem high, which may be the result of the months of shutdown. For example, a one foot/30mm ruler would have cost $5.50 + 13% HST - $6.22. This was what I was looking for when I visited. Even though $6.22 is not a lot of money, I didn't buy it because it seemed such poor value.

I like this store and shopped there frequently before the shutdown, but fear for its survival, because uncompetitive prices will lead to customers not coming back, or like me, simply not buying anything.

I hope the proprietors can find a way to more competitive pricing while keeping the business going.

The store customer service is so so bad, they not only mistreat people but also shout at their customers, I would recommend a visit here ever again.their stuff is so expensive, I would never come here again, please think 2 times before walking in this store! Angry at the way i was treated

Great store for all your art and crafts supply needs. Great prices too. The staff is very helpful and walks you through the store if you need anything. Well- educated and friendly staff.

I'm no artist but this is my go-to for kids' arts and craft supplies, reasonably priced writing instruments and a terrifically friendly, helpful staff. Great place to find interesting birthday presents for children aged 2 to 12 also.

Love this art shop in the hood. The employees know their stuff and have helped me with everything I've needed art wise.

Knowledgeable staff, have everything you might need, and Green P public parking at the front. Just don't park DIRECTLY in front, I got a hefty ticket one day.

Get most of my art supplies here. Good prices. Bit too much kid's stuff - and less art supplies these days.

Very good customer service. Good size store, but a bit expensive (hard to complete with big box stores).

It has a great selection but it was better when it was on Danforth and Woodbine it had a better selection at that location

I like the fact that there is one around East York, even though I have to travel from home to there, but otherwise is ok. The only problem is that there isn't that much of a variety when it comes of the items that one needs but other than that everything is good.

I've been coming to this Deserres at it's old location for my entire life, from when I was legit a toddler. But sad when it moved but the old location was huge.
Staff is always very nice, pretty well organized and always has what I'm looking for.

I am solely rating this off of the lovely help I received over the phone from Caitlin (sorry if I got the spelling wrong). I'm not a crafty person but I had to make a poster and needed help. She was very helpful over the phone and gave me great tips! Very kind and knowledgeable. Thanks Caitlin. My partner shops at this location regularly (including when it was closer to Woodbine) and loves it:)

This is a good DeSerres store around Coxwell and Danforth, about less than 5 min away right outside of Coxwell subway station. The store is very tidy and have a good selection of art and framing supplies. Furthermore, there is a good selection of kids' craft supplies and toys. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff and services are quick. Nothing to complain. Btw, this store near Coxwell stn so it's easy to get there. A good place for students who don't drive
