Desi tadka food and Tiffin

Best food i have eaten in ottawa. Channa bhatura and Amritsari kulcha is ultimate and Nature of Uncle (owner) and servers is also friendly. Best thing is only this restaurant opens early in morning.

Tried Aloo kulche, Chole bhature and chicken kabab. Everything was authentic and tasted great. Already planning my next time.

In My last 4 years of experience, it is my first time that i ever had a food taste likes a Home… It was totally worth… I wouldn’t feel like heavy stomach but ate until my belly got satisfied with the flavour they provided to us… I would highly recommend to everyone to come to this place and try their food… Their food and welcome internally forced me to leave a review for them…. I must say that real taste still exists somewhere in canada…

Kulcha is real amritsari……. Totally authentic, the crispness and freshness is unbeatable. No place so far but so close to the Amritsari taste.

Such friendly service, good quality food made with love and friendly unpretentious service. I loved it and will definitely be returning for the veg items and tandoori chicken

Great food. Parathas (Potato and Paneer) were delicious. Tried Chole Bhature can’t beat the taste.

All the items I have tried here are very good but special mention for Amritsari Kulche chole, they are extremely good. The flavour of Chole is as good as you can get. Highly recommended.

I just stepped out of the restaurant after having the most delicious aloo and Gobi paranthas. I couldn't wait to post my review. Trust me it is a must visit place. And the owner of the place is super sweet. Had a wonderful experience.

I recently visited an Indian restaurant that offered some of the best paranthas and kulchas that I have ever tasted. The restaurant's name is "The Desi Tadka" and it is located in the heart of the city. I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food and the delightful atmosphere of the restaurant.

The restaurant's menu offers a variety of dishes, but I was primarily interested in their paranthas and kulchas. I ordered the methi parantha and the paneer kulcha along with a cup of chai. After having an argument about a hair I found in my plate he finally took my plate back and took the hair out then casually handed it back literally saying “it’s good” - the older man with the turban an argument then happened again because I wanted a full refund but only would refund me half of what I paid for. Dirty and disgusting I WILL NEVER GO BACK Indian food lovers BEWARE!

Found a plastic in my sambusa, he was trying to convince me everything was okay. Didn’t even apologize acting like I did something wrong and owed him an apology. Great place to go if you want to get poisoned due to their lack of professionalism, I was speaking with the older man, that’s the owner that spoke to me like this. I ordered 16 sambousas he took 10 back with the sauces so he can resell them, I am sick now!

No compromise in taste of the food.

Nice Indian Food. Had Chaap, Pav Bhaji, Samosa, and Mango Lassi. Their Malai Chaap was simply awesome. Must try for people wanting to try Indian food nearby. Owner is really friendly.

We were visiting Ottawa and were craving good Indian food. We tried a couple of (highly rated) restaurants and then we tried Desi Tadka on a whim. Desi Tadka came out on top! Everything that we tried was delicious, reminded us of the streets of India. Portion sizes were generous and filling. We loved their paao-bhaaji, veg chowmein, chaap dishes the best. Can't wait to visit Ottawa again to come dine here!
