Lalin is a hairdresser my friend had gone to for years, and had done previous work that was similar to what I was asking for.
I asked for a balayage to make my hair as cool and as light as possible. I said I understand if she can’t make it that light in the first session in order not to burn my hair, she said this would be no problem. I specifically asked for a root smudge so that it would grow out and be easier to maintain, she agreed but then clearly did not do what I asked.
She had me facing away from the mirror when she was applying the bleach, and so I only saw the terrible application when my hair was in front of the mirror after washing. There were huge chunks of brown hair untouched, the tone of my hair is completely uneven, which she kept pretending not to see before I asked again if she could please re-foil it and fix it. In all she had to put in about 12 foils to fix missing chunks, as well as areas where there were huge uneven bands of colour.
She also wouldn’t tone my hair, refused when asked specifically, when I have had other hairdressers tone platinum parts of my hair to get them cooler. She asked me specifically at the beginning if I wanted a balayage and I said yes, then at the end said “these are more highlights actually, ” so she did whatever she wanted I guess? She also said that she “had” to leave dark areas or it would be one colour, where the photos I showed her had the hair as one colour. I showed her and explained exactly what I wanted and she did what she wanted anyway. It’s clear she didn’t have the skills to do what I wanted, but she wanted the money and did it anyway. I will be going to another hairdresser to fix these mistakes, after a 5 hour appointment where my hair came out uneven, a thousand colours, and I paid full price at the end, I am disappointed and upset.
