We found the food to be okay, although some may find it a bit bland. There wasn't enough salt, but it was alright for us. The food was quite healthy and not too heavy on the taste. The restaurant opens at 10am and is quite expensive. Inside, there is lots of space and it has a modern style, unlike a traditional Hong Kong dim sum setting.

This place is so low key but so good. Best bubble tea spot in Richmond Hill and has great food. Service could use some work

Use to be a bubble tea place, menu full of bubble tea and various types of drinks. That's been reduced now, focus shift to restaurant dinner meal foods. Still good, tasty foods but just be aware the drink menu is not like before pandemic times.

We had a nice lunch with lobster and noodles and dim sum. Food was tasty and it was not too busy when we went on a weekday. Will go back again.

We got several dishes and two different salted lobster dishes for dinner and it's good. Although I still prefer dining here for lunch, because there's more on the menu I like most.

We were looking for a dessert place and actually just came in because we had nowhere else to go. But their desserts were good! The toast tower? I'm not sure I remember the name right but the toast tower thing was really good. Drinks were nothing special.

Came here for lunch. Atmosphere is nice and feels high-class, but very little sound absorbing materials were used so it can get quite loud. No padding on booth chairs. The food was disappointing. I had the hoinan chicken rice, and it was just regular chicken with white rice. Dim sum is also ordinary quality/quantity but they charge higher prices. There are better options in Richmond Hill.

I recommended to my family to celebrate Father's Day in this restaurant (family of 6). We've been in this restaurant for few times in the past. Last Sunday was the worst dining experience we had. June 19,2022 we arrive at around 11am, we place our order using their APP (QR code displayed on the table) at 11: 30.

Drinks came after 30 minutes, but we waited for the food for a very long time, no one actually cared enough to ask if we had ordered already or at least infirm us what caused the delay. We reach out to the one who looked like she is in charge, long haired rude person (as we arrived, i asek for the set menu, I extended my hand but she threw the menu on the table) she just said 'I don't know, it was already 1 1/2 hour wait. The other server was kind enough to check our order (print out copy on the other table, as drinks were served already) in the kitchen, our order was not in the kitchen, it took another 30 minutes to have our food, we all list appetite, I already have a headache because of not being able to eat on time. Btw we are diabetics, who need to eat by schedule.

We had our not fresh food after 2 hour wait. This is unacceptable!

I asked if i could speak to the manager, we were told manager is not around.

This experience is really frustrating, the food is pricey, mediocre, service is poor and has a rude employee.

Worst service. Got mad at us when we decided we weren’t gonna have food and basically kicked us out. The server was apparently the manager and there was nobody to reach out to about it, never go there. They are rude and unprofessional.

We used to love going to the Destiny Restaurant in Scarborough. Since that closed, we decided to give this location a try. We arrived early to beat the "Father's Day rush". Our first was very friendly and accommodating. We were able to order and get our drinks within 30mins. But when the crowd started coming, she got very busy and didn't have the time to check if we got our food our not.

Our family knew it'll be a busy time so we're very patient in waiting for our food. We followed up several times and the lady who looked like the manager/supervisor didn't even bothered looking at us when we tried to get her attention. She was very rude too when we finally got her attention and asked her what happened. We got our food after 2hrs. The temperature seemed like it was sitting in the kitchen for some time.

Sadly, I wouldn't come back to this location and won't recommend it as well. The food is not worth the wait.

Came here on Saturday night with a girlfriend because this is one of the very few places that open until late in the area. Haven’t been for years and happy to know they are still standing strong. Surprised it turn into a full blown all day restaurant with lots of choices!

My family came in yesterday as our neighbourhood lost power and we needed some place to eat. We decided to come to Destiny and it looked super busy when we got there but we were able to get a table of 4 and was quickly seated. The waitress was super nice and although the food took awhile it was understandable as it seems a lot of other people also came because of the power outage. We spent around 2 hours here and we were able to charge our phones with their power outlets. Everyone was super friendly and will definitely come back and check out their morning dim sum!

Super bad experience in this restaurant today. We wanted to eat the roasted duck in another restaurant but they sold out then we chose to try this restaurant tonight. I was so regretful to try it because of the mandatory 15% service charge and unfriendly service.
We came in and sat on the table for five minutes, no one came to us for water or tea until we called the waitress a few times then we had tea finally while the soup came to us. We ordered a combo but it writes cash only on the corner with the super small words. You may need to see it very careful. Also, we ordered a veggie fried noodles but we changed the noodles to Udon. And, the waitress said she did not know how much is going to change the Noodle to Udon but it would be a few bucks. We said ok.
When we were almost done the dinner, and we wanted to see the bill. The bill charged us 15% service fee and there was an unclear charge called La something (forgot the name) on the bill. It was a charge for changing noodles to udon after we asked them but there was another charge $1.5 called changed Udon already on the bill. We got so confused. The waitress said our policy was that we needed to charge 15% of service charge if it overs $80 before tax. Our bill was $78 before tax so that I did not understand why we needed to be charged 15% service charge. And, I did not want to pay that much service fees since their services were so rude and bad. It was a bad experience I had in Richmond Hill. Never come back again!

An absolutely terrible experience. Customer service was also a disappointment. Waitress did not take our orders correctly and we had to keep reminding them what our order was. This caused us to waste even more time at this horrible establishment. After sending back my drink (when they got the order wrong because they did not write it down), there was a HAIR in my replacement drink with the tapioca that’s at the bottom of the drink! Absolutely a horrifying experience!

UPDATE: I am now sick with the flu the day after I had my drink!

Fun Asian diner/dessert/bubble tea place with an expansive menu. They have lots of great classics like HK toast, dim sum, fried chicken, slushees, etc. You're almost guaranteed to find something that suits your tastes. It's not the cheapest, but it's a nice splurge!

Toronto being such a huge hib for bubble tea and asian desserts i felt like Destiny is on a higher end side which is not really my thing. The peices are definitely on the higher scale for what it is. However dont get me wrong the product was good. It wouldnt be my first choice for a craving. This is more of a treat myself and friends type place.

Haven't been here in years! But the service was exceptional. I had stopped in to do some studying:). Very tasty tea and food

There was plastic in my bubble tea and it tastes like water. And 50% of the cup is ice. There was hair in my bubble tea,

Family dinner @destinycuisine. Feels great to be able to eat out with the fam after soooo long. We sat outside in the spacious patio that has good cover to protect us from the outdoor weather.

The popcorn chicken and fish cakes were the best dishes out of the bunch.
Mango drinks have real mango bits and coconut jelly at the bottom.

The rice could have used more pineapples and the udon had a burnt taste.
The lamb skewers were dry and octopus tentacles a tad tough to chew. Service is good and COVID protocols are in effect.

Would return and try other dishes.

Tried dim sum for the first time. They offer a good selection of dishes. Presentation is good, flavour is good. Would come back for dim sum

The restaurant is huge, nice and clean. They have a robot that brings you food to the table and sings happy birthday. The food I got was very good and tasty.
The reason I'm giving 3 is because the food took too long to be served and they would bring 1 plate, 20min later another, and so on. That killed it.

Good space. Ok for meeting friends and chatting. Foods is not special but ok. A little high price.

Very nice, clean place, good food, I wish more people should go and support restaurants like this, I feel sorry for their high overhead, just hope they can continue to hold on to the business. Local people and neighbors, please support them.

I use to come to destiny all the time before the pandemic and a lot has changed since the pandemic. We were planning to play board games and cards but the staff kindly told us that we weren’t allowed to play due to Covid protocols which makes sense since a lot of other places don’t allow board games anymore. The prices have gone up since the pandemic but still reasonable for a night out with friends or family. We ordered a snack set, popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, and beef noodle soup and 4 drinks and the price was quite reasonable since we were all sharing and splitting the bill. Before the pandemic, the drinks were served in glasses and now they use plastic cups. I like the plastic cups since it’s covid friendly and easy to take away. We really enjoy the bubble tea and my go to order is the mango mix. My friend really enjoyed the Mango Pomelo Sago Milk and the Brown sugar QQ milk tea is also good and grass jelly milk tea is a classic. The servers were very friendly and the food came out pretty fast except the beef noodle soup which did take awhile. Overall, my friends and I really enjoy coming here and make sure you make call in ahead if you have a big group since it’s pretty busy on Friday’s and Saturdays. Will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend Destiny if you’re looking for a place to hangout with friends and family.

I haven't been back here in years and was surprised by their new menu. I used to always get the ice cream drink here so I was disappointed they no longer had this available as their drink and snack menu used to be a lot more extensive. Instead, they now have dimsum and a later night menu with more dessert and dinner items. I came here on a Wednesday by myself to get some work done on a laptop and occupied a two person booth which was nice because it came with a dedicated outlet too + reliable wifi.

I got a white peach yakult, fried shrimp balls, chicken sticky rice, and egg tarts with tapioca. The prices were reasonable and service decently fast. Food was pretty good too, though the yakult was a bit on the sweeter side. It isn't the Destiny I remembered from 10 years ago but still a decent hang out place. Note that during covid they are not allowing you to bring games to play here anymore.

Really enjoyed the meal, they offer real cheap yet good quality lobster, also really tasty how they cooked it, I used to come here for snacks and drinks didn’t expect such fancy food here. Also the drinks are still as good. Although board games are not allowed now bc COVID which I think is reasonable, and the prices are raised too, I think the runner still trying their best to offer the best service and food as possible. I think I feel good vibes and mentalities here.

Destiny has been the go-to tea and snack shop since I was a teenager - it was the place to hang out Friday evenings with a group of friends.

The location hasn't changed since then. They have kept their decor setup well and overall the restaurant is clean. Of course, because of COVID, they space apart diners, and have now lots of partitions between large tables.

Their food hasn't changed much either. It's not stellar but predictable. I do find their dishes quite oily, and many of their dishes are fried. Recently, I shared with a friend the pan fried beef rich noodle and salt and pepper vegetables - both were quite oily.

Naturally, Destiny is known for their wide selection of tea and other non-alcoholic drinks. These are good - you can choose to have different gradient of sugar and ice level. Again, predictable beverages but nothing spectacular or innovative.

What is great is they have a large, spacious, neat patio. Felt quite safe dining in given the times.

Glad to see such a longstanding restaurant still around and happy to return again.

We came here for dinner and ordered a couple dishes. While I would give the food 4 stars, I must deduct one because it took a full 45 minutes for the first dish to arrive. This was on a Monday night at around 7pm, when they were not even busy by any means.

Huge parking lot and comfortable space in the restaurant. The food is excellent and prices are reasonable.

Food was on point, waitress was so friendly and welcoming，especial the short hair who wear glasses. Social distancing measures are in effect with masking and cleaning. They are doing their part with contact tracing. It was great to have a meal in the restaurant. Absolutely will come back again.

I'm not going to lie I think a lot of things about the place have gone downhill.

I used to come here a lot pre-COVID and I guess management changed I don't know.but a lot is different about the food and service.

I don't like the new menu or lack of?
Rather than most places doing a QWERTY code they have paper menus where you check off what you want.
Every time I've been between 2020 and 2021 they've missed at least one or two items I've ordered - this also leaves very little room for customization.
I dont know how thoroughly they check the sheets.and they're double sided.

I've had trouble with one server letting me do one thing and one another. Or not understanding my substitution.

Ex. Peach sparkling drink with popping Boba.
I just want Mango sparkling drink with tapioca.
One time they gave me Mango sparkling with popping Boba and tapioca.
Another time the server wouldn't allow me to make both changes - and we found out she served me Mango sparkling with Mango jelly.which was wasted because of the amount of ice blocking the straw from the jelly.
All of which could have been avoided if they just took down orders rather than relying on a check list paper sheet.

For me personally I don't know what happened but I find the Mango syrup too sweet.either they use too much or there's too much sugar in the syrup I'm not sure.

The food portions are quite large but quite pricey. Way more pricey than they were pre-covid. And the selection. I'm just not impressed.

Yes they've added Dim Sum to the menu but I think it was like 8 dollars or something for 4 pieces of har gow.
I ordered popcorn chicken and rice and it was like 14$
Beef short ribs with no rice - just onion on the bottom was like 15$

The only reason we still come here is because we can come hangout, bring laptops, do work, play cards, and are not kicked out - we can chill here.

I will say the one really nice change was I believe the owner or manager came to our table quite a bit and he was joking around with us and making us laugh which was really nice (it didn't seem like he was doing it with the other tables. We think it was because we looked like we could take a laugh and a joke - other tables looked pretty serious - but that's just me). He was so fun. And made the experience really nice.

Other than that I really don't enjoy coming here as much as I used to.
I really only come here because we can hangout - the table sizes are big, and we won't get kicked out for working or chilling.

Change the menu back.
Bring back the variety.
Don't make drinks so sweet or add too much ice.
Have the servers take actual orders with a pen and paper or iPad so food/drink items are not missed and substitutions can be made.

The bubble tea with tapioca was awesome. The servers are friendly and respectful. We highly recommended this place to anyone.

Felt pretty heart pain when we came in. A very big and aging restaurant. Kinda empty and smells. Drinks and service are no longer good.

My partner and I waited for 15 minutes and no one came to serve us. The table in front of us, despite having arrived only seconds before us, had their orders taken and already served while we have not even been spoken to once. I saw that the hostess/waitress serving them was eating ice cream as we left. I was surprised by this horrible service because we came on a Sunday night before 10 pm and the restaurant was not busy. In the past, when we came here during a busier time, we were served promptly and didn't have any issues. However, because of this experience we won't be coming back.

I would give it a zero if I could.
My Friends and I decided to come here for desert after having dinner at Moxies.the menu was not interesting and 2 of my friends decided not to order anything and I was craving a bubble tea so I was like fine I can be only one to order.

The server said she would charge my friends a SITTING FEE if they dont order.ridiculous.the restaurant was not even busy.

Extremely greedy Establishment and their decor looks super dusty and outdated ambiance. We left and ordered chatime where things looked more appetizing

Great bubble tea. Probably one of my favourites, however the price is ridiculously overpriced so I dont go here often. Taro mix is for some reason around 10 dollars including tax. FOR 1 DRINK! LOL i wish this place wasnt as greedy otherwise i would support this location with 5 stars and bring all my friends, but my friends find it inconvenient due to bad pricing menus. Atmosphere is good and etc. Only backlash and downside is the price.

Come here to eat hot snacks and study. Good service but the food is just ok. Some items are hit and miss. The drinks are not great

Great service and interesting menu items. I ordered the dragon ball tea and received a kettle with delicious flavours.

I find the service needs to be better here, long wait for seating when empty and for food to arrive.

One of my favourite dessert places. You can come here for some comfort food too. Bonus points for the restaurant’s decorations. Staffs are usually nice and polite

The food is not bad, if you want to spend the whole day there. We arrived for lunch on an empty restaurant and after taking the orders it took more than 1 hour to get the food. It also took 30 min to pay the bill. There's only one waitress and the chef can probably cook only one dish at a time. The place is certainly not prepared to cook for the number of people that go there.

Opens late during weekends. Good selection of food and drinks in the menu. Price is average.not crazy expensive but definitely not cheap either.

These people add on 15% service charges on your bill and they don't even really give you proper gratuity worthy service.

We went as a party of 5 and some of us were paying for each other for a party of 5 there were 3 bills total and they charged me for 15% tip on my bill plus 15% tip on the person's I was paying.

Otherwise there's lots of seating and selection of food and dessert.

Friday for lunch took over 45 min to start getting our plates once we ordered, when there was only another table with people in the whole restaurant. Food is ok. Clearly understaffed.

Overall good service. Food was pretty decent and served quickly. A bit pricey. Atmosphere is a plus.

The seats were very dirty! We told the server and she literally shrugged and pointed at another table (which was equally dirty). When we asked her about the combos, she said "they are fixed choices, no change! ". Poor service, dirty place, pricey food.good luck to this place.

Terrible service! Rude hostess/server. We were told we didn’t order enough and that we HAVE to order 2 more drinks? For real? What kind of establishment tells customers how much they have to order? Do not recommend.

My friends and I sat for almost 20 minutes before a waiter arrived. We tried to get one of the waitress' attention but she seemed to actively turn away from us. Servers kept trying to place drinks on our table even before we had ordered.

I ordered a banana-strawberry drink which was bland and came in a flimsy, plastic takeout cup. The cup was only slightly larger than the size of a McDonald's small drink. With tax, the drink came to $9.

Horrible service. Overpriced drinks.

On the plus side, the decorations are nice and there is free WiFi.

This place used to be very popular, but now it's usually empty. Drinks are good and they offer a wide range of foods and desserts as well. Service is good and staff are friendly.

Super chic place for bubble tra anf drinks of the sort. They do serve food but I would stick to drinks. They're much better done. That's not me saying their food is bad. Its average.their drinks are just amazing

The place is absolutely amazing. Came in for a quick bite, stayed for two hours.
Kimchi hot pot is out of this world.

Fried rice was great portion and I shared some of shrimp pad Thai with my friend. Definitely thought this would be a reasonable amount but definitely a little too much food even though we finished it. Would come here again even though this wasn’t my first time but definitely to try new menu items. Service is average but not exceptional.

Nice spacious eatery that is also fairly clean and modern decor with a good variety of desserts and drinks. They also have appetizers & entrees for the really hungry. It is good enough for repeat visits.

Came here when there was the seasonal dinner specials available with a friend. I dont think its available anymore, but it included one dinner menu item, their daily dessert special and a 5 dollar drink for a total of about 15 dollars. Also bought takoyaki, 8pcs/~$8).

The stir fried udon was great; it had a smoky flavour and was seasoned well with generous portions. I came with an empty stomach and couldnt finish it in one sitting.

Takoyaki was also amazing-chewy and savoury. Food came really quickly (about 10 minutes or less).

Its bound to be more expensive now but Id recommend those items if you dont mind the food being a bit pricy.
