What a great place to purchase tires for other mechanical work. I bought some be a good Rich radio TA tires for my classic 1963 Pontiac Lemans and was having a employee discount at my auto parts store job. I got a fantastic deal and good follow up service I would highly recommend this place. The staff is amazing. Friendly and honest. What do you think do the tires and wheels look good on the car?

Great service! Quick and easy, no arguments or upselling went there took care of what i needed and was on with my day could've easily been a take care of it on my break kind of errand and id've made it back to work without even realising i had gone there to fix my cars troubles.

Amazing! We've bought at least a handful of tire sets (of four) from Dettmer. They always provide a selection (good, better and best) depending on what quality of tire you're looking for. The prices cannot be beat. I've compared to many other places and they are byfar the best. Great service! Highly recommend!

Spent almost $900 on new winter tires last year at this place. When I had flat tire last week due to nail in one of my vehicle tires, I was told that neither the manufacturer not Dettmer is covering your flat tire repair, I was told that I'm on my own. I found it sad and disappointing

They said they were too busy and booked for the day I drove there for half an hour

My new favourite "go to" location! I was ready to head out for a nice weekend and noticed my tire was flat. The Dettmer team was able to get me in right away, were professional to deal with, charged a reasonable fee and expertly fixed my tire. I highly recommend this team.

I always thought that this was a place for real "Motor heads", specialty tires for specialty cars, if you know what I mean. But, I was in pinch once and I needed an inner tube for a really small wagon wheel and all my typical go to stores were sold out. I checked online and to my surprise, it said that Dettmer had one. I called and received a really welcoming, friendly response and was told I could come get it, I went and picked it up. I was a better quality tube for less than the other places and the guy there was super nice.

So, with that good experience I went there when I needed to replace my summer tires. The kind I needed were hard to find as my car has pretty small wheels, but they found a set for me, again better than what I was looking for and for a better price. They just needed to order them in. They let me know right away when they came, by text. I was really busy around that time and when I asked when I could come in to get them put on they said, anytime. And as I do, I ended up coming in late on a Friday before a long weekend, but they said not a problem. Everyone I talked to was great, including a mechanic who told me about his weekend plans. I got my wheels without an issue and I was super pleased with everything!

We use Dettmer Tire for all our tire purchases for our trucks and trailers. We likely buy somewhere around 75 tires a year and they are always great to deal with and keep our fleet in great shape when it comes to our tire needs and light service work.

I went for a snow tire swap at Dettmer Tire followed by a trip to the Ford dealership. The dealership noticed that my lug nuts were all damaged from Dettmer using the wrong size socket swapping my tires. Dettmer refused to replace or pay for the new lug nuts claiming that they were damaged from ice and freezing conditions. I may have believed this if it was one or two nuts but all 24 were damaged. The staff was very rude and would not pay the 140 dollars I paid Ford for the replacements. I have been a loyal customer for 30 years. I will not return to Dettmer Tire again and would not recommend them to anyone. Bad service and no customer appreciation.

The gentleman who helped me (a car novice) was very kind and friendly, and was able to get me a couple winter tires at a great price.much cheaper than I had been looking at online. Service was very fast!

Love the folks at Dettmer. Always very upfront and helpful at explaining the issues of our vehicles. Most recently helped us contact the manufacturer for our car that had a recall and helped set everything up for us, and after helped us landing a great deal on some winter tires. Have been going to them for awhile and will continue to do so:)

Brought my car in for work in the spring and had the tires changed. Went to change to winter tires and can't find my wheel lock. I tore the car apart and it's not there. Dettmer wants to charge me $40 for a mistake they made. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. Very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Most companies contact the customer when they happen to break something not just try to hide it and let the customer go around the corner and find the part hanging from car! But apparently not dettmer, wasn't impressed with the lack of communication.

In exchange for currency, they modified my vehicle in a manner such that it became less broken. It is now a superior driving machine, without a failing wheel bearing.

I brought my car in as soon as they opened in the morning. I know it’s a busy season but instead of telling me that the chances of my getting my summer tires changed over to winter tires (and they were already on rims) would be impossible.they told me it would be done by late afternoon. I said okay then I will have to take a cab home instead of waiting 8hrs and they called me a cab. I called at 3pm and they said they still hadn’t gotten to it. They didn’t say they wouldn’t.they said they hadn’t gotten to it! So I arrive through a snow storm another $30 later by cab only to be told that they didn’t get it done and that I would have to come back tomorrow. Really? ! $60 cab fares and they tell me I have to do it all over again tomorrow with no promises! Not even a “we will pay for your cab for our miscommunication”! This is the first bad review I’ve ever written but it was well deserved.

I bought tires and rims in the summer. Came time to put them on, and they don't take appointments. You have to sit in your car at 7: 30, and race in when they open. By the third day I still hadn't gotten in, as they only take so much work per day. Fourth day finally got in, but they had sold my rims to someone else, despite my $500 deposit. I asked for my money back, but they offered me a deal, but could not install them. I had it all put in my car and went to another dealer. Of course, the tires were the wrong size, but the second dealer swapped them out.
How on earth does this place stay in business?

TL;DR:
Better prices than Canadian Tire generally. Maybe got unlucky with Supplier shipment issues or maybe Dettmer dropped the ball on my order. Too busy to call me to say my tires came in (bad weather was upon us and they were in their peak season mode). Lost two days of work to get my tires on (one I assumed wrongly, another day-of to get this over with). They did have satisfactory customer service, and were generally pleasant. Made sure I was able to get my rebate from the supplier for buying new tires. On this experience I would give 2 stars, but if I were to have asked for new tires even 1 week prior to when I did, it would have been a good experience. 4 stars, probably.

Overall, ok experience with these guys. Bought 4 brand new winter tires a week or so before the first big snow hit, and was told they would come in on the following Monday/Tuesday. When I went in on he Tuesday, apparently my tires weren't being shipped from the parent company, and Dettmer told me that they don't know when they will come. Getting into the first snow storm, they became over-run with demands, so I can't fault them for that, but another week went by before I CALLED THEM hoping that my tires would be in. Thankfully, they did come in a few days prior, though I was never called. Luckily again, I could take the day off and drop off my vehicle for the day, and they managed to get my tires on my rims by closing time. The guys were nice when I was there, so in terms of customer service they seemed quite satisfactory. During the checkout process the clerk did make sure I had the right info in their system to get my Promo Rebate from the supplier company, which softened my gripes with this experience.

They obviously never check the email they have on their card when they give you a quote as my emails were ignored so i purchased elsewhere

Oil change to my volvo was done with bulk grade oil and then leaked out all over my garage floor. When I returned to have it fixed, no apology was made and again lower grade oil was used. After a phone call to complain I was begrudgingly offered a free oil change, not going to trust them with my vehicle at this point

Once they found our tires on rims in storage, job was done quickly but the fact I had changed to summer tire at Cork St. Address confounded your system and they sent me home saying they couldn't find our wheels! I went home, they were not there so I phoned back and told them I am sure they are instigate and we had it done at Cork st. Centre. They acknowledged they found them so I came all the way back. What should have been done by 10: 00 was done by 12: 15 instead - time is money. They kindly repaired a winter tire they found a screw embedded in and balance the wheels, and did not charge me. That was kind, and great customer service for thanks for that. We always come to Dettmer but my office used to be located at Royal Plaza downtown, so obvious choice for such wheel changing - not there any more. You system should ID with customer name with either a C or an E showing where tires/wheels were changed so this won't happen again to somebody else, simple software addition or code beside car owners name or car type. Thanks

WOW! I've been to many tire centre's and I have to say, Dettmer has THE BEST customer service and selection. The brand of summer tire I just recently bought from them are a very specific type and size. (255/35/20 and 275/35/20)
I called several tire centre's and no one was able to give me a straight answer if they carry that tire or what sort of wait time I could expect if I ordered them.
Both tire specialists that I talked to at Dettmer were friendly, experienced and got my new tires ordered up in a matter of minutes. I installed them the very next day and was completely satisfied with my entire experience.

I had a bad experience here a very long time ago, I tried it again a couple decades later and I was once again disappointed. They had pretty good prices but the quality of work just wasn’t there. I wouldn’t recommend.

After 4 shops finally Dittmer tire fix harsh vibration after 4 other shops failed to do the job

Found a screw in my tire. Although it was in such a place that could not be repaired, Dettmer Tire got a replacement OEM tire installed within hours and had me on my way.
