During the darkest days of the pandemic Di Rienzo’s took it upon themselves to send their wonderful sandwiches to the worst hit hospital departments, including the ER I work at, on several occasions. That gesture meant so much to us, especially when we were at the breaking point with all we were dealing with.

We encountered so many negatives, the fear, stress, aggression from outside forces, but Di Rienzo’s contributions reminded healthcare workers that our community cared about what was happening, and reminded us of the caring community spirit the people and businesses of Ottawa had for the healthcare workers during an unprecedented crisis.

I for one will always remember their contribution to us.

Not only the customer service is AMAZING! But also the food. Such a nice place with such amazing people. First time visiting this place and one of the owners welcomes us and ends up not letting us pay for our food as it was our first time in there. I will be certainly going back and buying their food.

I have had about 1000 sandwiches and meals here and it's always perfect. I'm moving out of Canada, so today was my last ever sandwich.from Di Rienzo's.
Going there never felt like going to a store or a restaurant, it felt like going to the home of a family member. I always feel welcome and always get very well fed!

I left this review years ago. Time to update it. Paul and the family make the best sandwiches and traditional Italian food to go in Ottawa. This place is amazing. They have tonnes of traditional Italian food. This is one of the secrets of Ottawa! Just had my first sandwich in a while as I was out of the country. This food makes you smile! Thanks

It's exactly what you expect a neighbourhood almost new-york style bodega corner place to be like. Home made pastas, veal parm, ready made for pick-up sandwiches, made to order sandwiches - all so good. Great service always.

Did you know that this place won Ottawa’s best sandwich of the year multiple years in a row? I didn’t. But after going there 4-5 times now I can see why.
Starting off with the amazingly friendly staff, they were incredible. Great at explaining options and were very nice.
There’s is a lot of variety in sandwiches, and everything they serve is fresh. They also have hot food but I haven’t tried it yet.
I always go in and get a sandwich, along with their incredible cannolis. They are the best I’ve had in Ottawa.

If you’re looking for a nice local spot, I can’t recommend Di Rienzo’s enough. 10/10!

Best sandwiches in the city and a staple of Ottawa culture. I’ve been going here for years and I never had food disappoint, friendly staff and great location in the city.

Haven’t even tried the food yet but the first time I walk into this place to buy a Gatorade on a hot day, I hadn’t realized they were cash only, buddy spots me the drink and says to get him back next time. I’ll be back for food very soon. Protect this deli.

Nice enough place. I arrived when they had a shortage of bread so I couldn't get the sandwich I wanted to buy. But no complaints from me because they made up for it by giving me a free pasta. No nonsense. I didn't ask for it or complain. They just understood that they weren't able to offer the service that I was expecting and made up for it in the best way that they could. I will go back next time I am in the area.
