My husband and I had a wonderful time at Dog Tales. We originally went just to see the open house and check it out but as we were going to leave we happened to see Melody. Immediately we knew that we wanted to adopt Melody so we put the application in as soon as we got home. The process was quicker than we anticipated. After the dog meet we got to bring our girly home about two weeks after meeting her. It could probably have been quicker but we live a fair distance away. Despite this, Dog Tales was very flexible in their timing to accommodate our travel.

But what really impressed us was the support afterwards. We had questions that were answered promptly and the staff even helped make sure Melody was settling in nicely. I really can't say enough good things about the team!

We adopted our lovely Shih Tzu Ewok here and could not be more pleased with the experience. All the staff were very friendly and they were doing their best to make sure that the dogs find the right fit for them instead of just trying to pawn off dogs as quickly as they could. Even after the adoption process was complete they continue to support us as needed by quickly responding to emails about anything we ask. The location is also wonderful, it's a whole animal sanctuary, not just a dog kennel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dog and we will return if ever we can take in another one.

An absolutely incredible, clean, and well maintained establishment. The animals are so well taken care of and the volunteers are passionate. Aesthetically pleasing and they even serve snacks! Highly recommend you go to interact with some of the animals, and even hopefully to adopt your own ray of sunshine!

Amazingly green space hidden in midst of pristine nature. There are plenty of surprises for the visitors including well mamaged rescued dogs home, horse farm amd a love restaurant cum coffee shop serving you free.
28 April 2023 6:18
Such an amazing rescue and sanctuary! Next level standards and care for all the animals who get to call this place their temporary home until they find their perfect forever.
17 April 2023 6:08
Looks like the animals here have a TON of outdoor space to enjoy. The staff are friendly, if you're visiting with young kids just be aware that not every dog there is friendly (they are all leashed either way). Some are very friendly and waiting to be adopted while others are being worked on for their behavior. The staff are very good at telling you if the dog they're walking is being worked on so I didn't feel concerned at all. Definitely worth a visit, just be sure to book an appointment if you're not going on an open house day.

Found my best friend Bruno, now known as Duke back in 2016 here:) He is 12 years old now and going strong. Everyone that has ever met him just loves his sweet personality. Thank you Doggy Tales for making the process so smooth and for helping us find such an angel!
08 April 2023 11:38
The most incredible rescue with amazing staff who treat each animal with individual and specific care that they need
28 March 2023 19:22
This place is truly spectacular. The love and care they provide to each of their animals is unmatched.

Beautiful place, very relaxing time by walking and looking around.
Beautiful horses.
04 February 2023 12:35
What a wonderfull place, animals are all well taken cared of, they look happy, as a matter of fact we are looking to adop from Dog Tales
26 January 2023 15:47
Loved the place! To see dogs privately you need an appointment. For open house tour its only on Sundays 12-2 pm
10 January 2023 11:31
Having rescued two dogs before, I thought I knew the process pretty well. Dog Tales is a whole other level. Their care for their dogs is exceptional, we got to spend time with our adoptee’s handlers and vet techs to ask all of our questions. We’ve never felt so prepared to being a dog home.
For all they do for the animal community and how hard they work to place them, I can’t imagine a better adoption experience.
05 January 2023 4:32
I reached out for help with my dog. Unfortunately we aren’t the right home for him. He needs a quieter house with someone who has experience in dog training. Anyways they weren’t able to help claiming no space. I ask to be put on a waitlist. Apparently no wait list. Thanks for the help NOT
12 December 2022 5:03
They do absolute phenomenal work and don't try to push dogs on you, go here if you are curious about adopting a dog. They give a great tour of the property (which is massive by the way) and have a ton of different animals such as dogs, horses, cows, pigs, and sheep. I highly suggest anyone to go here if even you don't want to adopt because you get to meet a lot of different dogs, which is the best way to spend an afternoon.
29 November 2022 3:39
Have heard so much about this place…Could you please look into getting the dogs and cats out of Ukraine. They are starving and some are injured. My heart is breaking for these animals but I have no means or income to do anything to help.
24 November 2022 3:52
Breaks my heart every time I read the reviews.seems like they are more about the donations then of finding loving homes for the dogs. Too many qualified and truly deserving applicants just denied for no apparent reason. What gives? ! (yes I too was denied over a year ago.dog I wanted is still there. I have a rescue now, and man is she loved and well cared for!)
15 November 2022 22:49
I don't want to take publicity away from these people (hence the two stars) for how well they treat their dogs and (for the most part) run their business. But I had a frustrating, disappointing experience with their horrendous customer service.

When I sent an adoption application they blatantly refused to let me adopt without explanation. When I asked for one they were extremely dismissive, saying they wouldn't share with me because they didn't want a confrontation. I was very put off by this treatment.

If they were a business I would say "don't give them what they don't want" but instead I'll say "go in for the dogs, but be cautious and have a backup option".
24 October 2022 2:28
Unfortunately this place is all bells and whistles which dogs don’t need. They claim they need homes for dogs but reject everyone for no reason. 0 communication so dogs will forever sit in this shelter. You can see that many of them have been there for years and years, and many have had multiple applications from great qualified families. They are also incredibly rude-

“This decision is not affected by which dogs were listed on your application. ”

I was told that it’s not the dog I chose- it’s me. For no reason at all. I live in the country with a HUGE fenced yard, beautiful home and own other dogs currently. Such a loving dog home- we truly spoil them as they are our kids.

I feel sick for the dogs there, honestly. They will likely never leave and it will just continue to get more crowded. They like to show off but don’t actually understand what it’s all about.

On the bright side- I didn’t let them ruin my search. I applied elsewhere and was told I have a wonderful application. Within a few weeks we got our beautiful rescue home and she’s a spoiled baby! Sad to think of the dog that could have had this spot, but happy to see someone getting to enjoy it:) Read the reviews before applying and don’t let them hurt you when you are told off for no reason. Go somewhere that cares about dogs and families rescuing!
27 September 2022 14:51
Rejected for no valid reason.
At least it would have been nice to hear that in a phone call
And not 15 minutes after applying.

We absolutely love everything about Dog Tales! We adopted Bruno (formerly Lima) one of the puppies of Nella. Bruno is doing absolutely amazing and the whole adoption process was fantastic. I love how thorough Dog Tales is when you are adopting. They really truly care about every single pet and they really make sure that they are going home with safe, loving and kind families. I love Dog Tales so much that I decided to start volunteering there. That also has been absolutely incredible, it’s such a great experience and feeling knowing that I can play just a small tiny role in each of these puppies lives giving them some love and taking them for walks until they get adopted by there furever families️
21 June 2022 23:07
We dropped off a donation to Dog Tales a couple of weeks ago. Our gift was so graciously accepted with the most lovely thank you. An amazing facility.

Dog tales rescue.was as always great place to feel the great vibes. Staff and animal's included.lol
17 May 2022 17:21
How is it that you advertise for an animal and then just reject someone’s application with no rational whatsoever? When prompted this is the response I got?
“ We're sorry for any confusion and we understand it can be difficult, however, part of our application states that we reserve the right to not move forward in the process. In our experience sharing the rationale can lead to negative communication, which doesn’t serve anyone. Our intention is not to hurt or offend people who have taken the time to invest in rescue cats and we realize we won’t always get it right. Once again, we hope you can understand that we are doing our best to find the right fit for both the animals and the family. ”

What does that even mean? Then don’t advertise and ask for people to adopt. If your intention is not hurt or offend someone, you sure did offend me! Never Again!
01 May 2022 9:24
We bought a cat from here. Thinking we had done a good thing. Thins cat was not spayed and we were called liars by them even after we explained she'd gone through 3 heats. Following we got a second cat from them that died within 3 months. Our vet diagnosed heart failure. We will never adopt from them again.
27 March 2022 12:34
Makes no sense to me… The wife and I applied for Sophie a cane Corso.we have 2.3 acres that is fenced in with a 6 foot privacy fence here in Warkworth Ont that keeps out bears, wolves & bobcat from the back yard, but supposedly isn’t secure enough to keep in a dog because the front of the house has a 300 foot gps fence. Any one else have this issue with king city rescue. Would like to here your story.
21 March 2022 12:10
Horrible place they accuse people without proof, they lead you to think the adoption is going through then tell you that you aren’t a good pet parent and try to accuse you. Such horrible places never recommend it!
20 February 2022 17:25
I love this sanctuary, they are so loving towards the animals. I give them a big round of applause for the work they have done. -

Definitely check them out when you have some time
09 February 2022 1:57
Wonderful animal rescue in York Region. The facilities are modern and well maintained and the adoption process is thorough and friendly. They will always have my family's support.
29 January 2022 16:01
Application denied for unclear purposes despite being a picture of an ideal home for a rescue animal. It's easier to get CSIS clearance. Places like this is why the puppy mill industry exists
14 January 2022 5:34
I cannot say enough great things about Danielle and the employees at Dog Tales. From start to finish - a wonderful experience. I adopted a bonded pair from the Bahamas. Thank you for bringing me my best friends. I owe you guys the world.
12 January 2022 20:41
Our 7 mo pup came for Daycare (something they don't normally do but did it for him) and he loved it! The owner of the business is easy to contact, updated us on our dog, and combined with requiring a Kennel Cough vaccine we feel so much more comfortable bringing him here than other popular kennels nearby.
01 January 2022 23:11
Not for people who live in condos, apparently. Couldn't think of an alternative reason for my application to be declined. It's upsetting how the application process robs deserving dogs of a proper home while simultaneously contributing to back yard breeding practices.
25 December 2021 21:50
Pretty terrible owner who resorts to attacking people rather than addressing complaints, as can be seen in responses to other reviews, as well as the content of other reviews themselves. Might be good under new ownership or after a severe attitude adjustment but just not worth interacting with if the owner decides they don't like you for whatever reason.
06 December 2021 1:37
I do not normally post reviews, but I feel the need to warn anyone who thinks that Dog Tales will be helpful to any owners who are dealing with the possibility and or very saddening reality of surrendering their dog to this apparent rescue. My interview was with Danielle (the owner) who admitted that she had not even read our file that had been submitted prior to our interview, that which, included a comprehensive account of our situation. From the minute the interview started, I was interrogated and made to feel like a terrible person for even considering our options. Please save yourself the time and energy and seek out help from other rescues that will not make you feel terrible for trying to do the right thing. As a working professional who works within the government and directly with the public, I was disgusted with the treatment and behaviour exhibited by Danielle.
.
Danielle,

I emailed the meeting organizer the day of our initial meeting and fully indicated that I would be 5 minutes late and never received a response. I have the email to prove this. In fact, you very well knew that this was the case given that we scheduled another meeting only after I called the receptionist to book another meeting.

Second of all, I never confirmed that I wanted to surrender our dog to your company, and wanted to explore our options with you first as was indicated on the form we filled out prior to us meeting. However, I most definitely made the decision to end the meeting early when you so rudely blamed us for our situation and berated us for essentially reaching out for help. Why would we accept your services after having that experience with you. You need to be aware of your patronizing and inappropriate approach during meetings. You can slice things however you want on here, but we both know you are extremely inappropriate and unprofessional in your manner.

Lastly, your response to this review truly shows the type of person you are
28 November 2021 16:18
We had a wonderful experience at Dog Tales! As first-time adopters, we felt very supported by the staff who were patient with us, and explained everything we asked about. Special thanks to Sam and Cassandra for helping us to bond with Dougie! We're very happy to have adopted him and for the support that continues to be provided by Dog Tales. We would absolutely recommend Dog Tales if you're looking to adopt a pet!
25 November 2021 6:18
Amazing organization! Amazing people! Dog Tales made a life long mission to help these animals! Thank God there is a place like this for the animals to find sanctuary like Dog Tales! You guys are amazing in how you help these animals get a second chance in life. Thank you!

My partner and I adopted a dog from Dog Tales and had the best experience. We made multiple visits to Dog Tales with our own dog to make sure the new addition to our family would fit in with our current dog. During every visit all staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. They responded to our emails quickly and professionally. We wouldn't hesitate to adopt from Dog Tales again. They are an incredible rescue and sanctuary.

A performative and degrading “rescue”organization.

My experience was a few years ago, but I can see from more recent experiences of other reviewers that not much has changed. I felt the need to write a review now because it took a long time to come to terms with how we were treated by the female owner in-person and via e-mail. You simply do not forget how someone made you feel. After reading many reviews and the wildly petty responses from Dog Tales, it just further attests to the unfortunate experiences people are sharing.

In brief summary, we visited the organization during one of their open houses, completed an adoption application afterwards, and had an in-person appointment following that. I can echo most of what others have said about their distressing in-person appointments (ie.chaotic, uninformed, & superficially judgmental) while also adding that I left the appointment in tears as I had never experienced such blatant judgement as I did from the female owner. Communication via email was equally as belittling and demoralizing. I was accused of things that contradicted what I had included on my application when I called them out on the wildly unpleasant in-person experience.

I also wanted to write a review now because we’ve thankfully learned that not all rescue organizations are like this and are so grateful we did our due diligence and found another local organization that treats humans and animals with compassion, dignity, and respect (while still maintaining discerning criteria for potential adopters/fosters). We have now become successful fosters and also adopted a dog who survived the meat trade (and have been able to support him in overcoming some challenging behaviors that inevitably come with the horror he survived).

Fortunately everything happens for a reason and we were spared a lot more heartbreak than others we know that have also been demoralized and mislead by this organization.

I would like to thank dog tales for the wonderful lunch provided by them today for the staff and volunteers for the vaccination clinic. The food was absolutely delicious! That was very thoughtful and kind of y'all, thank you so much and stay safe!

Dog Tales has to be one of the Best pet adoption I have worked with. I first sent in my application and they got back to me quickly. We talked and the dog I was interested in was a but of a handful however my family and I went out to see her and they were right she was very scared of almost everything but I went out to see her on several occasions and she really warmed up to me. The people at Dog Tails really know what they are doing. They treat every dog as #1 you can just tell they love what they are doing. I know the application can be long to some even unnecessary but I will tell you it is a Great thing they do this. The dogs they have can be the sweetest loveable animal you have ever met but they also take in the more difficult ones too. They have to make sure the dog you want will want you as well and this can be difficult however they do their due diligence and make sure everyone leaves happy especially the dog. I can not say one negative thing about Dog Tales the experience I had was Great and will recommend them always!
Rory now Darcy is doing GREAT at her forever home and will always be loved.

Similar experience to many here unfortunately. While I commend the sanctuary for the work they do, I find their lack of communication and stilted, impersonal responses towards rejected applicants unfortunate.

In terms of practicality, it is very difficult to be rejected without feedback as to how to improve when you are dedicated to providing a safe and healthy home for rescue animals (despite having plenty of experience and the means to care for them). It’s even more difficult to see how many animals are still in this shelter when there are people willing and able to work with rescues on so many levels to move them into loving homes. I’m not quite sure what we put on the extensive (and as others have said, intrusive and somewhat prescriptive) application that caused so much concern, but the process lacks the nuance of getting to know potential adopters on a realistic level, which is at odds with the reputation Dog Tales portrays to the public. While I certainly appreciate the scrutiny with which rescues evaluate potential homes, it seems counterproductive to dismiss applicants without feedback based on a faceless application - what’s worse is this is built into their policy. Subsequently, I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but with a rejected application comes a life-long ban. To quote the response I received: “Once our adoption team has decided not to move forward with an applicant, we are unable to accept future applications from that household” - another bizarre policy considering my application didn’t present anything that would remotely justify this decision.

I have always hoped to work closely with this sanctuary to adopt, especially considering their reputation, but I am left to question the motives and general effectiveness of an organization so unwilling to work with potential adopters.

I forever fostered a sweet boy from Israel. The Dog Tales team treated us like family and celebrated every win, gave us support and advice. They were upfront with what we could expect with our fur-boy. We went into it with eyes open. We are so happy with our furry addition and feel like a part of a family.

Dog Tales is a sanctuary I could live in.wonderful staff, the Animals are taken very good care of.and just a beautiful place.

This looks like a nice place.but! We applied for dog and were turned down without so much as a phone call. Experience tells me they think more of themselves then they do of their animals. Dogs should be in a home not locked up here, but for some reason they have other views. If you fill out one of their applications lie about it. Otherwise you won’t be up to their standards.

New post
For others looking for a great place to adopt a dog we have found DIBS (dogs in better spots) they bring most of their dogs in from Mexico. Great organization and we have found a great dog, his name is Rio. Look for them.

I am writing this review as I celebrate 90 days of Boss joining our family. I think Dog Tales is an amazing place. Not only because the grounds are themselves absolutely spectacular, but mostly because of the way they care for the animals and the incredible support they provide during and after the adoption process. I love that they are selective when pairing their dogs with the right adoptive family. I also appreciate that they allowed me to take my time and get to know my dog before taking him home, being very generous with their time and facility. That's especially important when it comes to dogs with some issues - as was the case with Boss. I am incredibly grateful for the handlers, vet techs, volunteers and admin staff who have all contributed to rehabilitating dogs like Boss so that they can find a forever home. And I am especially thankful for the support and ongoing guidance Boss and I have received since the adoption. Special shoutout to Daniella for creating an incredible environment for animals in need and to Cass and Stephanie-Bossy misses you both!

Great staff and facilities. They truly care for the animals they are entrusted to look after. We adopted from them and the experience was simple and painless
07 June 2019 1:41
Exactly like what other reviewer said, if you want to adopt, look elsewhere and don’t waste your energy here. Not only they require you to fill up a ridiculously long questionnaire and have very limited visiting hours, they will also send you a copy and paste response to reject your application with no explanation.
05 June 2019 16:21
Wonderful staff cares deeply for the rescue dogs, horses and other animals.
Great place to adopt dogs from.
04 June 2019 9:09
As far as dog shelters go, this is as good as it gets. It is a huge property with dogs, horses, pigs and even a cafe
27 May 2019 3:55
Very professional. Dogs very well cared for. Rescue for many types of animals. Well worth the visit. Great place if you are looking for a dog.
25 May 2019 15:24
In dog language: GRRRR.
If we could give negative reviews, we would. This is an absolutely horrible institution and no one should ever walk through the doors. We drove 2.5 hours to see the dogs. We applied and found one we loved - and were rejected with no absolutely no explanation, BEFORE we even met the pet. They would rather keep the dogs there in small little rooms looking sad then find them a good home and family to go to. It's a total shame that this place prides themselves on matching dogs with owners but won't even let you meet the dogs before their incredibly biased team determines that you aren't a fit. I would never return and will be confident and thorough in spreading the bad word about this place - I hope they get far less than 4.3 stars and that no one else is convinced by the internet that this is a good place to adopt a dog from. GRRR.
24 May 2019 23:47
Very disappointed in this organization. Visited many times and supported, but never again. We put in an application for one of their rescues and got a response saying they weren't going to move forward with the application. After politely asking for the reasoning behind it, they mentioned that part of their application states they reserve the right not to move forward and sharing the rationale can lead to negative communication, which doesn't serve anyone.

There is no negative communication on our end, we just appreciate honesty as we are first time rescuers, so we are aware of what we need to do to adjust or accommodate.

I think it is much more negative on their end to not be told why someone cannot adopt a dog. I don't think reasons can be offensive, it just means someone is not a great match for that particular dog and that is okay!

Really disappointed in Dog Tales lack of response and how they conduct themselves.

For this reason alone, it has altered our decision to submit future applications to other Dog Tales rescues. Such a shame that they treat people that way! We have dealt with other dog rescues who are much more honest, open and non-judgemental and we appreciate that!
09 May 2019 12:43
I wish I could give this place negative reviews. Their adoption process is based on discriminatory criteria. They have no intention to find homes for all their rescues. Many of their rescues have been locked up for years! They truly take the heart out of this process. MY story is like many others and to be told at the end when meeting the dogs and falling in love that “unfortunately we have decided that we cannot proceed with the adoption since we don’t feel your family is the right fit”.
Really? Showing us 6 dogs out of 130? Not even the ones we were interested in from their open house. Showed us dogs locked up in “quarantine “ in garages on the property who showed signs of stress.
My question is; I agree that it is discretionary to say a particular dog may not be the right fit for a family. But to say that ALL 130 rescues are not the right fit for a family is discriminatory!
Please don’t lose site of the reason to adopt a rescue. What Dogtales did to my family was cold-hearted and broke the hearts of my children. How can this organization and their owner state that they are compassionate to these rescues when they treat humans (potential adoptive parents and employees) with no compassion, lack of care and are simply CRUEL!
Please DO NOT SUPPORT them. Read their reviews from their own employees on Glassdoor. It’s SHOCKING! All my friends in King City, please do not rescue from this “For-Profit” organization. Beyond the Crystal chandeliers and marble floors there is something very dark and sinister about the owner and the sanctuary.
If you haven’t been already tainted to adopt a rescue please contact FreeKoreandogs. Amazing work they do and all volunteer base. Their rescues are thoroughly assessed they are not caged up and locked up on display for promotional purposes. These dogs are housed in boarding rooms where they are free to roam with their brothers and sisters to simulate their natural environment as a pack. They only experience positive stimuli and LOVE. The goal of THIS owner is to ensure ALL her dogs find homes and happy endings.
Good Luck!
08 May 2019 19:21
I wish I could get into more specifics with what happened with dog tales. I just want to let everyone know to look into your rights as a pet owner before letting these awful people strong arm you into doing anything, including surrendering the dog you adopted from them. A few quick phone calls could save you a lot of trouble when dealing with Danielle or any of her staff.
04 May 2019 13:05
Visited the sanctuary on the day it's open to public (Sunday). A lot of dogs are available for adoption and you can see them get taken for walks outside and play with other dogs. Cows and horses are also present on the premises of the sanctuary. There is a small cafe on site operating on donation basis. I haven't adopted an animal from these guys yet but considering to do so in the future, will update the review then!
04 May 2019 12:13
Amazing space, amazing staff. Always busy so you light have to park on the road but there's tons of space to do so.
01 May 2019 21:35
I always love to start with a positive before a negative so here goes. I love the attention to detail that are given to these dogs in the sense of cleanliness and care.

DO NOT WORK HERE!

I am not impressed with their employment rate. They have new people every week it seems. This isn’t healthy when it comes to dogs with special requirements and can lead to injuries!

Second, they are very unreliable. Tv makes them seem like saints, but in real life they are a bunch of a**holes. They don’t respect the timely matters of documents and shove people out the door, both employees and potential adopters. Just beware that they are snotty people.

I recommend checking out the facility and the dogs, but as for ever working there - I wouldn’t recommend it.
20 April 2019 5:29
Had the same experience as many on here. We're told "adopt, don't shop" but you soon realize it isn't so easy. Many pet shelters don't seem to want to adopt their animals. Why? What do they really do with the funding they receive and with the animals in their care? Let's get a conversation going - join the FB group "Pet Shelters Exposed".
14 April 2019 6:29
Horrible experience! They put up fancy chandliers in the dog prisons to distract you from the fact that these dogs are suffering.they all deserve a real home and btw you probably will not get approved. The dog we wanted to see we couldn’t because the lady we were dealing with felt that the dog was too much to handle! Really? You rather have him in prison forever then show him to people that can help him. She then proceeded (without warning!) to bring out dogs missing limbs. As we were leaving I could tell the staff was judging us. Go to your local SPCA. We adopted a puppy the same week and the experience was great! We left with her same day.
14 April 2019 2:50
Great place to come visit. They take in many dogs that would be turned down and or put down anywhere else. Their cafe is all based on donations. I hope they continue the great work.
26 March 2019 20:17
So impressed wth this organization. I have read lots of the comments and the negative ones revolve around people not having their application accepted. I can understand their disappointment but remember, these dogs ended up there for a reason, and thank goodness they have a second chance. Picking a forever home for a dog that has or had issues is a hugely important job for the dog and I am so happy to hear how hard they work to ensure they go to a suitable home.
22 March 2019 19:10
Our adoption experience with Dog Tales had highs and lows, with none of the lows being due to anyone's fault there.
My husband and I were going to be first time dog owners and decided that we wanted to adopt through a rescue. We decided on Dog Tales and put in a general application. Danielle and her team were incredibly accommodating and patient throughout the process.
We had our heart set on a timid special needs dog they had recently rescued from Israel. We were absolutely thrilled when we were approved to adopt him after approximately one month of our initial application.
Unfortunately after 2 months in our care, despite obedience classes, and his physical condition vastly improving with thousands of dollars in physical therapy and equipment, his once timid behavior became aggressively protective of my husband and I towards everyone (including people he saw regularly) and other animals. We had a bite incident and decided that the most responsible thing for us to do would be to return him to Dog Tales where he could undergo further behavioral training and eventually be placed with a more experienced family who he would be a better fit with.
We were horribly embarrassed and felt like we had failed this poor dog completely. Danielle and her team were more than understanding and recognized the issues as soon as we brought him back into their care. He was held back for behavioral training before being put back up for adoption again. Though they didn't owe us any of their kindness, they were incredibly supportive and even encouraged us to come back whenever we felt we were ready to try and adopt again (we have yet to take them up on this offer).
We will never forget this invaluable learning experience, and the kindness and understanding we experienced with Dog Tales. It wasn't a fairy tale ending but we're grateful for the experience and what it taught us.

Absolutely stunning place. So not only a rescue for dogs, but a sanctuary for horses, chickens, lamb, cows, pigs, And the dogs are living in luxury! They have their own living quarters that rivals a downtown Toronto bachelor condo! Equipped with a chandelier and furniture too! All taken care of to the max and given plenty of love and tlc before they're adopted out. Wonderful place to visit. They are certainly doing great things here.
