Unlike past reviews, they hired a new security guard (I think) they were pretty chill and greeted me. I got some winter gloves, and had a normal shopping experience <:
One of the best options to buy all types of products at a very good price and quality, with a large number of stores in the area, very popular and of great help for the traveler and the local,
One worker was extremely rude, wouldn't let you leave the register before yelling "next in line" right in front of the customer grabbing their bagged items, also with the renovations (which are practically done except replacing some tiles) she seemed extremely impatient with this lady with a walker kept repeating "ma'am" louder and louder as if she was going to move any faster. Very rude to practically any customer that walks in
It's usually super quick and easy to get in and out. One bummer about the staff is they are usually in the way with their carts and they ain't got no time for moving their behinds out of the way of customers. They need carts that are slimmer and learn to what song says. MOOVE B**CH GET OUT THE WAY.
On the plus side.most of the crabby staff are gonzo. The newish security guard who's apparently now a dollarama shelf checkout attendant is a nice feller
Staff weren't helping customers - luckily found items on my own and cash self out - not sure why there is a brick and mortar store if the experience is going to be the same as an online one - friendly tip, self serve should not be the only method of cashing out, not only will you drive customers to buy online which will cause you to loose your customer base - but if you are going to have staff in the building make sure they are there to help customers not simply cash a paycheque
I really love Dollarama you really have everything that I need a beautiful prices when you really wants to do a quick pick up for anything else you needed that's the place friendly service I personally recommend it
The Follarama us the best store to buy so.me of your weekly groceries at discount prices s d save quite a bit of money. The Dollarma Store is the store to shop & save money!
Changing it to 1 star after today's visit (Jan 18,2022 between 5: 40 to 6 pm) Older lady beside our checkout counter was being yelled at by one of the employees (Asian lady) because she didn't understand the self checkout process. Couldn't believe how loud and rude she was. I couldn't just stand by and watch. After a minute I started helping the older lady who told me she had very poor eyesight and understood very little English. After I was done helping the lay, I made a remark that her attitude towards the customer wasn't right. And what do you know, I was being yelled at by this Asian worker. (I'm only referring her as Asian lady because 3 other staff members refused to give me her name to make a formal complaint.) Instead of understanding the problem and helping the customer, she became more aggressive with me. When she got too close I asked her to get away from me and I was told to go away. None of the other staff members intervened or said anything even though I felt they knew that what was going on wasn't right. All I was given was owner's name and was asked to call back the next day when the owner will be at the store. I do not expect to achieve anything from this review as most of the other reviews are ignored/unresponded. All I can do is to choose another location to shop at.
Last time I’ll be shopping here. Asked representative to be served at a proper register vs the set check out (expressed job loss is a serious concern of mine) she assured me all her cashiers are putting stock away. Open your eyes everyone as jobs like this won’t be available for loved ones or people without the skill set to obtain gainful employment. This type of behaviour is what we need to avoid and keep jobs in Canada. Automation will ruin pricing and future for all.
One lady complains shes helping 6 people at one time while she ignores the people who are asking for help there wasnt even six people waiting adding the self checkouts at a dollar store just shows how lazy employees are and they dont care about costumers id suggest removing them and go back to the way it was poor service and rude staff
As is typical, one dollarama is much like any other. Perhaps the advantage to this location is a bank of self checkouts that allows for rapid processing
I give 4.3 stars. For it is a great place to find those items that you need the most. When you need them, and at the price we all can afford. One thing more often than not you have to use self checkout. For me, I'm good with self checkout.
So i thought about it, and i might have overreacted a little.
Although “security” persons don’t have any police powers, I hadn’t considered that the mall cop harassing me was probably just frustrated and i was his victim that day. Frustrated at the fact that they make minimum wage to babysit a store and high five customers during COVID times. (something tells me you didn’t sanitize after, either)
So it’s okay; you don’t have the brightest mall cop watching your store but you have somebody. That’s counts, right?
This 5star is for the gentleman who was working alone this evening. Very friendly and helpful. He and the security guard found a way to ensure customers are sanitizing their hands. Your words are your greatest weapon.
0 stars. Not one human on cash, self checkout only. Left in disgust without buying anything. It's near impossible to find a job as it is and I refuse to support a store that removes jobs. Went to rexall for my drinks (paid in cash at the casheer) and the dollarama on Main st instead as they don't have robo cashiers.
Well stocked, great location although it's often very busy. I also personally don't like it when there's no cashiers available cause then people are forced to use the self checkouts.
Dollarama is getting crazy these days, the store at Queen ston Rd in Stoney Creek, an employee waits outside with you and screens you prior to entry, I could see this before but not now. The store at Jackson Square in downtown Hamilton was busier than usual today around 4pm, there is a security dude standing well inside the store but does not screen shoppers, this store also has automated self checkouts, I don't recall that at this particular store.
Honestly this store is good but it kinda busy all the time and I just fell like in a rush. I fell like you can only come to this store when you want to buy only one specific thing
I would normally give a 4 star, excellent prices.and usually good customer service.
Today, however, there were workers not wearing masks. When I asked them to put them on they refused, saying it's not the law. There is, also.no law that people have to shop at Dollarama.
If everyone doesn't cooperate this virus will never go away. If people can't wear a mask they can wear a face shield. It's disappointing that Dollarama would allow this.
I don't like machines so I was standing in line and cashier served person ahead of me and when customer left cashier said ti use the machine and walked away
I was Ok. Found what I needed with a little help, which was great. A few of the staff were hanging around in front of the self check out machines talking. They were blocking access to the machines.
I'm a regular here as my office is in jackson Square. Staff are normally friendly and bhsy sanitizing the store anytime I go in. Security is helpful and cheery. Pleasure to shop here
Always great customer service even with the chaos of the many diverse customers that they endure daily, enjoy the new self check out. Was also informed by staff if I have bigger orders and want to use my tax card to request for counter service. Was impressed and glad to have the option, on the brighter side of things also have had the opportunity to teach a few workers a quicker way to process the card, which is time saving. So we all win.
This is certainly one of my regular dollarama’s i go to.and my experience there is never a bad one.but today, one worker was rude to a man whom didn’t know how to use the self check out he was elder.and was also rude to another customer whom was going to wait behind someone at the cashier to be checked out.then this worker also kept telling people to use self check out cause the one cashier wasn’t open cause she already “did a big line”. The only person whom was so nice and friendly there today and every time is the security guy.they need to put more workers on cashier and not to be so rude to those whom aren’t familiar with self check out.the worker could of spoken nicer to the customers.
Dollrama It is a good place for variety items, where you can find a lot of variety and for all aspects of uses, for example you will find a complete kitchen set and a lot of household utensils and utensils of one use for trips and even home. There is a lot of varieties of electrical supplies, decorating supplies, festive supplies, greeting cards, and everything needed for the house and the car. The prices are very acceptable and even cheap, the only disadvantage of this shop is that you cannot return or exchange any product.
Went for Halloween decorations. They have a lot still on shelves and it's well organized. The store was not overly crowded and I didn't have to wait in a line for check out. They were using only self checkout however (I was hoping for a cashier as I had my baby wish me) so that was a downfall.
No social distancing though everyone seemed masked and there are markers for each aisle directing customers for convenience. There's a Security guard posted at the front of the store who tries to ensure everyone is following the rules, but only he can do so much. Overall, the store was well-stocked and well-organized which made for a quick and easy shopping experience.
They don't even have cashiers it's all self checkout (I understand this is the future but at least have a cashier or two) plus it's in the middle of Jackson Square. It's a nah from me.
Went there 5 minutes ago. Have an American 100$bill and the lady at self check out responded to my question, "you accept American money" with "No, you know where we live, right". Proceeded to a 'cashier' and they basically said no and asked if I had any other form of payment. So it's cool if Canadians go to the states to shop however not so cool if Americans shop here. Or if Canadians have US currency. Absolutely ridiculous. I frequent this location often and to be 'technically' refused of the money I earned is disgusting
