Don Mills Walk-in Clinic

I have had nothing but good experiences at this clinic. The receptionist, Sharice (I hope I spelled that right!), and Dr. Chacko in particular have been heroes (an understatement) for me during a very difficult year full of dismissals by every other clinic and nearly every other doctor of my now-chronic concerning and worsening symptoms. Dr. Chacko is the first doctor ever (truly) to take me seriously, to not reduce my symptoms to weight and anxiety, to listen attentively, and to be proactive in my care, and I am so grateful.

The clinic has a very organized check-in system and while the clinic itself is small, the building it's in is comfortable and well-tended so it's not at all a bad place to be in if you have a long wait. Wait times vary, but usually the line moves pretty quickly. In my experience, the doctors are usually willing to give you more time if your medical issue needs it. Keep this in mind if/when you're frustrated about the wait - that courtesy would be extended to you too if you needed it.

There is a lab and diagnostic imaging centre right upstairs which is convenient. The clinic hours (while sometimes subject to change) are also really good, with fairly late open times toward the end of the week. Clinic is conveniently located right by a bus stop on a major bus route. Shops at Don Mills (Lawrence & Don Mills) is also only a couple of bus stops south of the clinic.

They explained the reasoning for wait times. It was at least truthful. Unpleasant, but truthful.

I'm not sure why this place has so many negative ratings but I went there for the first time on a Sunday when most walk ins are closed and saw nothing but an organized office with a professional doctor (Dr. Chacko) and kind receptionist.

The don mills clinic was amazing, I love how u can check in on an iPad. And the Dr in clinc Dr chacko, he so kind and amazing. We will be back worth the drive from durham to Toronto. Thanks for providing this service. Best walkin clinc I've been too in long time and so very clean

The worst experience I’ve ever had. So unprofessional and disorganized. The admin needs work. Patients are never the priority in this walk-in clinic. Waited more than two hours for a 5 second consult with the doctor. Total waste of time. Ended up going to another clinic the next day.

Don't say that your open till 5 if you close at 4: 20

My wife isn't feeling well and I called and paid for and Uber to come here to wait at a locked door.

They are scam artists who charge significantly more for services. They have zero respect for you or your time. They put me on hold for more than 30 min just to send my call to a machine. I go to the office to find They charge 160 for something thay costs 50 in a nearby pharmacy. Don't go here.

Edit. Found a nearby clinic only charges 60 for the exact same test. Complaints are being filed with the MOH.

Made me wait 7 hours for a note just for her to tell me in 2 minutes she can’t do it. Told me it’s gonna take an hour and had me wait 7 hours. Ridiculous doctor this place deserves to be shut down.

Posted hours are not the hours this clinic is open. Terrible to be sick a turned away. Adjust the hours online and on the door. If you're going here - call first and find out the actual hours.

A wonderful experience - a warm and friendly receptionist, quick service, an inquiring, reassuring and kind physician.

Had a doctor here lie to me about not being able to access ADHD assessment and treatment. And I knew he was lying so I went online and found several doctors offering services that are covered by OHIP for ADHD diagnosis and treatment for adults. I will be notifying the CPSO of this behaviour immediately because no patient deserves this. If you are not medically literate I don’t think that this clinic is the best place to go for you because you will need to stand up for yourself in front of the doctor.

Thanks to Dr. Caspari we waited for more than 2 hours just because he is gone to see other patients while I'm still waiting for my treatment that he didn't finish. We used to come here for the same purpose and spent only a couple minutes, today is insane.
Must avoid going on Wednesday

This place is clean and well-organized. The reception desk is doing its work well, super polite and patient.
The most amazing doctor is Dr. Matthew Hum, who only works there on Thursday. He answers each of your questions with his expertise and professionalism. He always tries his best to help his patients. Sadly, Dr. Hum is not practicing as a family doctor. After having my family doctor, I rarely go to see him, but I will never forget this best Dr. I have ever met and his support to my family. Thank you

I would give my experience 2 stars mainly because of the receptionist and her obnoxious attitude, she has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. On the other hand my wait time was surprisingly very short and for that I was grateful.

2 stars only because the hours are good and the receptionist was good too. But the doctor insisted my colic was because I am not vegan without any evidence for it, and even after I explained I'm severe iron deficiency anemia. If I stopped eating meats high in iron, I literally wouldn't be able to go up a flight of stairs without getting dizzy. But no, he just kept going about how I HAVE to become plant-based. He even told me that eating animal products will cause me infertility! The lack of respect and professionalism! He has no idea if I want children, or if I have struggles with fertility. And in either case, the amount of anxiety he caused me and can cause other women with his "doctorly" comments is INSANE. The entire appointment you could see his irritation at me for not being vegan, rather than paying attention to any of my health indicators. Didn't even feel my very painful abdomen.
Stop scaring people into becoming vegan when they come vulnerable to your office where you have the power. It doesn't make you a good doctor, it makes you a bully. And guess what? I'M STILL NOT VEGAN

The physician on duty Dr Ladak, didn’t even look at my 2 year old but lectured me on plant based foods mocking me repeatedly because I’m a non-vegan… I had to take my daughter to another after hours clinic after the visit, waste of my time.
Pushing your vegan agenda on patients in a condescending tone, Who do you think you are? Who feeds raw vegetables to a two year old?

Your job is to treat patients, not push your agenda.

Showed up with my sick wife today only to find a “sorry we decided to close early” sign on the door. Of course no mention on their phone system or online channels of the last minute change in their schedule - and we weren’t the only ones who showed up. Really disappointing. It’s 2023 guys and you have an online presence - it’s your responsibility to ensure it’s up to date!

Came on a Saturday morning and was the only one here. After a quick COVID test in my car the doctor saw me within 5 minutes. Very clean, quick and professional. Will definitely come back if I need to see a doctor on the weekend!

I told the doctor I had a couple issues, and he immediately cut me off and said we can only address one of them. I’ve been to walk in clinics in the past and no one has ever said that to me. Almost felt like he wanted a second billing.

I was caught off guard but then mentioned the itching I was having throughout my body for the last few months. Without really investigating further he immediately said I need to cut out dairy, told me of all of its issues, including that I was ingesting enzymes meant for babies and estrogen that would make me feminine, and aggressively asked if I had read the Canadian guidelines. While it’s possible what he was saying is true, it’s very obvious he was trying to use his medical profession and position of authority to push down an agenda - particularly because he didn’t do any investigative work to arrive at his conclusion. He never asked about any changes in diet, if I had been exposed to a new environment, If it could have been an allergic reaction, etc.

Overall, he was very rude and unproductive. My issue is not resolved and I’ll have to go to another doctor now. Seems there are a lot of similar complaints of this clinic, it’s curious how this has not been rectified.

Receptionist was quite helpful. Wait wasn't too long. The doctor however hardly wanted to answer questions. After writing the prescription, he was ready to go. I know there are other patients but each is important.

Sincerely appreciate the time of the person who gave me a call giving me assurance that a doctor will contact me to attend to our medical need and to Dr. Lee, thank you so much for your time. She is so professional and kind enough to give her time to speak to me in regards with the medication my daughter needed even it’s quite late already. Hope all doctors are like her.

Don Mills walk in clinic deserve a high recognition.

Dr. Ladak is very rude. He has no sympathy toward a patient and his behavior makes you feel terrible (Not to mention about his misdiagnosis).
If you have to visit this clinic, stay away from Dr. Ladak.

Made an appointment, waited a week for the appointment, office didn't even open at the time of the appointment but someone popped out at 10 min after to let us know that the doctor was sick today so he contacted someone else and they would be there shortly (whatever that meant). When asked about what that meant for the appointment that was set up, the response was that they did not know because they can't register anyone.

I made an appointment specifically to avoid the hours of waiting. From what I read about Dr. Ladak in reviews online while waiting, it is likely for the best I didn't get in to see them as it appears that they have zero bedside manner and narrow scope analysis. If you have an appointment with Dr. Ladak, it seems you're better off just saving the trouble and going somewhere else.

Sadly, I wish I could recommend a good place but I have yet to find one in the area (but I'll keep trying).

Dr. Amin Ladak is an insecure person with HUGE attitude problems. He jumps into conclusions quickly without having minimum chat with the patient. He is utterly rude and medically illiterate.

STAY AWAT FROM HIM AT ALL COSTS.

In our specific case, he misdiagnosed a simple skin leishmaniasis for MRSA. His prescribed treatments could have had life treatening consequences which we avoided. Make sure they dont assign you Dr. Ladak at the front desk.

Front reception was nice. Great experience. Nice Dr's. Never knew about this hidden gem. Very clean. Wait time is not bad.

This clinic was an absolute breath of fresh air after an awful experience we had being turned away for an appointment with a family doctor after my elderly mom got sick. The receptionist was extremely helpful and cheerful.
Getting an appointment for a callback was a breeze and we had an option to see a doctor in person if needed. We got a callback from Dr Hsu on a very timely basis. Thank you all for your professionalism!

I was there with 2 small kids and they told me I had to wait for an hour. After an hour I went to the front desk to ask them when I was going to see the doctor and they told me that I had to wait 40 more minutes! Of course I took my children and left this horrible clinic.

It's not easy to find a walk in clinic without appointment due to covid. Don Mills Walk In clinic literally saved me life by taking me walk in. Dr. Hsu is super helpful and supportive! I'm depressed for a couple months, and tried to suicide yesterday. Dr. Hsu is really professional and easygoing. He provided me a suitable prescription and a doctor note. After a conversation with him, I felt much better. The reception girl is also really sweet and patient!

I walked in with my vaccinated son to have his tonsils checked, as he had a white/yellow patch on his left tonsil. We were refused service because we weren't able to provide a negative Covid test proof. Regretfully, a real waste of our time. Please make sure you inform the patients about this "little" detail by posting a clear and visible note on the website. We really hoped for better when we walked in.

I wonder why everyone is giving this place 5stars. Well, I had and am still having a bad experience. First, they didn’t accept my health insurance (morecare) saying it’s not valid. Funny enough, this is what even drug stores accept. I even used the same health card for an ultrasound and an X-ray without paying any extra cash. Secondly, my X-ray, results were sent to the doctor but it’s been a week now and I haven’t had a call from the doctor or clinic (at least to acknowledge the reception of the results and give me an appointment) I wonder if they have forgotten that I came there because I need help regarding my health. I even called the clinic last week and the service representative said they haven’t received the lab results. He promised to verify and call back same day to confirm but till today, I haven’t heard from him. I had to call the pharmacy I went to for the lab tests and I was told the results have been sent. I regret ever stepping into this place. I just wish they can send the results to me so I can see another doctor for prescription especially because they don’t accept my health insurance. I do not have enough money to spend out of pocket for health. Am just a student.

Horrible. Waited about 2 weeks for my results after being told that I will get them in 4-5 business days. Dr gordon fu then told me that I will have to go back into the clinic because the lab disposed of one of my samples.before testing it. I only went to this place because it is close to my workplace and it was convenient. I will be going to my usual walk-in clinic from now on.

Very nice clinic, clean and modern. The staff were friendly, quick, and good with my kids.

Very efficient for phone consultation. The doctor gave me the prescription/medicine which completely cured my dermatitis.

I highly recommend this place! Professional treatment and warm experience from start to finish. The doctor and staff are really accommodating while thoughtfully listening to my concerns and providing the medical expertise in an easy way.

Great and fast service. I was able to get a quick appointment at a time that was convenient for me. Doctor was very friendly and thorough. Highly recommend!
