Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre

Ice is great for summer ice. But the facility. Especially the change rooms needs to be re-done. No bathrooms in the rooms. Benches are tight on the ice. But great summer ice.

I'm trying to get into any program drop-in / registered. However, registered programs are always booked even on the first day and first minute of the registration day. If luckily, I was able to register myself in one program, and that got canceled at the last moment. And always no drop-in program available. I literally wanna get into some program at this place because this is the nearest one. However, staff is good and answers queries respectfully.

There are no complaints about this place at all, but my only concern is that I wish they have a basketball program for girls only because boys are not playing with girls and they felt left alone or end up quitting for the entire season. I noticed many girl s don't continue to come after first or second lessons. I hope the city will make a basketball program for girls only in the next season.

Convenient and well equipped with amenities, services and staff to accommodate everyone including the handicapped.

Very disappointing centre, I have registered my daughter cooking classes for two seasons every week they send class cancellation notice.
What's the point then we waste our time register, my child get very excited then every week they disappoint her by cancelling.

Free community centre for senior activities within the scarborough community. Arts and crafts, painting, fitness and drop in schedule. Terrific helpful staff. Check out the website for monthly schedule. They also offer children's activities and have a skating rink for hockey practices. Love this Place

It's still the same old community center as it used to be a long time ago nothing has changed really

For the gem show, large community center, various programs, hockey arena and a decent size gym.

Building needs some TLC. Some programs require pre registration with the city of Toronto parks and rec. Many drop in programs and fun activities for seniors.

What a beautiful center this is very clean lots of programs it's after a very helpful it's a great community center

Leisure skate every day. Stick and puck for older guys. Met some old friends while checking out a hamstring problem.

Clean and for the most part the sightline at the hockey arena are decent.

Only down side is that their change rooms are kind of small and it's hard to space a whole hockey team out

For an older arena it was very clean. Covid screening was quick and easy thanks to the staff member that was waiting at the front desk.

A great facility has 2 rinks used for from beginners to competitive hockey players. I hope their tuck shop is open when classes are taking place.

The facility is worth 4.5 stars, I give it 3 because of the overall running of the community center, much more could be done here, so as to optimize the purpose of this center. Good Location, Spacious, lots of programs, buuuuut under utilized

Great hangout place, equipped with a senior's billards lounge, many activity rooms, two ice rinks, cooking room, youth space, and dance room. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Teenagers were obnoxiously loud, rude, and seemed like they were trying to destroy the place. No employee around to deal with it.

Great community centre. I mainly use the free running track but weekday mornings there are a lot of activities for seniors (e.g. Ping pong, lawn bowling, yoga, tai chi). They have wide range of classes for all ages. What you may be turned off on is when there are hockey or lacrosse games the player jersey smells sometimes go up. So runners/walkers upstairs may smell that.

I go there after school on fridays and i simply love the environment. The staff is great and are ontop of everything. Playing volleyball with my friends after school at don is the highlight of my week. Just an amazing place to be yourself and have some fun.

Great teacher and community centre!

I joined Line Dance with Grace at Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre three years ago. From the first contact Grace was super friendly and it made me eager to start.
Grace is a nice and patient teacher who has a real passion to teach line dance. Any simple dance step, she is very patient and repeat teaching until everyone learned.

Grace not only teaches line dance enthusiasm, but also provide excellent service to our seniors when she is on duty in the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre Senior office. Thank you Grace!

Good place. Provide all training for the kids! One of the place where you can get free programs!

SHA Ice Raiders hockey is excellent, some areas of the center are under construction but facilities are clean.

Really nice community center and rink. My kids have been in some of the city programs and they really enjoyed it. Lots of parking (located in the back as well)
I attended a skate exchange there and was able to get a pair for my daughter and I.
Inside of the center could use an upgrade but everyone is always friendly and helpful.

Two ice pad arena. Seldom turn on the heaters even in sub zero weather - just another example of how Scarborough gets screwed after amalgamation when GTA took Scarborough's budget surplus and spent it downtown.

Good rink for watching games. Stands are elevated above ice. Nice snack bar and decent pro-shop. Ice is usually good as this is a colder rink.

Nice venue, played hockey here. Lost a star for dressing rooms being so small, and snack bar being slow. Got both stars back for being on the doorstep of a subway station. Super convenient for those Friday evening tourneys when coming from the west end.

Nice clean community center in an area that definitely benefits from its presence. Staff are great, tons of programs for both kids and adults and is easy to get to via TTC, GO and car.

Great place to go skating and the home of the ice raiders. My son plays hockey there and the people and coaches are great. They have 2 ice rinks a snack bar and a heated seating area. Wish they turned on the heat lamps in the seats more often, that's why I left one star out. I freeze my butt off Saturday mornings.

So big 2 skating rinks, the down side is that it is not very wheelchair friendly on the inside so you have to go out side and up if you wanted to get to the top floors and if you wanted to go to the bottom floor you would have to go outside and down and in an other door

An older facility that could use a bit of repair here and there, but still being put to good use nonetheless.

Elevator always breaks down.catches fire and remains broken for months. Snack bar is overpriced and food isn't great. Rinks are always cold. They don't turn the heaters on even when colder than the -1 outside protocol they claim. I could go on.but our butts won't be going there for hockey anymore lol.thankfully.

Older building.centre been around long time in this busy neighborhood.very diverse visitors and members.large space inside.many services in facility to choose from. Many young and teen basketball players. Comfortable location.many walk to and from kennedy Subway station or MetroLinx Go Transit Train Station. Good hours of operation as well.
