Donaldson Heating and Air Conditioning

Called with an issue with my heat pump at approximately 11: 00 am and by 12: 30 I had a service technician at my door.
After explaining what the issue was he got straight to work and was able to narrow down the problem. It turns out that the company that installed my heat pump (not Donaldson Heating and Cooling) had cut more than one corner which was causing the problem. Nevertheless I now have heat again with some recommendations of a what to look for if the problem returns along with an itemized estimate of what need to be done.
The only charge for today’s call was the initial diagnostic of $89.95 + HST for almost 3 hrs work.
This was my first experience using Donaldson Heating and Cooling and I’ll be using and recommending them from now on.

If you are looking for a reputable company that is honest and has great technicians (Maddison) choose Donaldson Heating & Air Conditioning. Before I called Donaldson in to look at my furnace, I had another large company whom many are using in Ontario to rent water heaters, tell me that I needed a whole new system costing 12 to 14k and get this, to shut it off immediately because it will blow up. This other company had a sales person at my place within a hour to measure and have a system installed. I was shocked because my Lennox looked to be in good condition. I read Donaldson reviews and knew that I had to call them. Although they were really busy with customers, they had a tech out within hours. When I do need a new AC or furnace, I will be spending $$ with Donaldson. Thank you!

They were efficient and friendly and fixed it right away. We’ve dealt with Donaldson for over 10 years, they are very dependable.

I called to have a quote from Donaldson and the appointment was booked for the following day which was super quick! The salesperson Derek was knowledgeable and answered all questions I had. Pricing was reasonable and the best deal out of the four different quotes that I gathered for the same system. Four business days later my heat pump was installed! Milton and Mahmoud were very efficient with the install of our new system. I would definately recommend Donaldson to anyone!

I was in need of an emergency plumber on Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend. I had no idea who to call and found this company with an internet search. Stephanie came to Strathroy in less than 2 hours including travel time. She was professional and very pleasant, explaining everything she was doing including the charges as she worked at the leak in the ceiling. She worked quickly and got us and herself to our Thanksgiving dinners on time. And I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was less than I would have gladly paid for this emergency service.

Damian was wonderful! He's very knowledgeable and was very detailed in his answers to all of my questions. He also took the time to show me how all of the plumbing was connected and where all the water was going. I had called because I had two wet patches that appeared on my basement ceiling, but and there was no known piping above the wet patches (bathrooms and kitchen weren't above that ceiling). He discovered that the water came from a hole in the roof (requiring a roofer's visit to resolve) and not from internal plumbing. On the same visit to address the aforementioned problem, he also moved the inside water shutoff valve for the garden hose to a more reachable location.

Used Donaldson to repair a hose faucet in the garage. Very prompt service and they took pictures of the repair. Definitely recommend.

In the initial phone call we had already diagnosed the problem and given the part number required. (HVAC certified) The technician came without the required part so we were charged $100 to diagnose a problem we had already diagnosed. We discussed this with them on the phone. The company had the part in stock. The technician said if he had been given the information that we supplied, he could have brought the part with him. He called the manufacturer and found the part was still under warranty.
Now they will return with said part and proceed to charge labour for 4 hrs while it is a 1 hour job. Not the way to get repeat business. I can't recommend doing business with this company.
Update I spoke to Nathan on the phone. He says this is industry standard. I was told this $400 included the cost of the part (which should be $0 since it's under warranty). It also includes a lot of just in case.
A different technician came out to install the part and did a diagnostic again.
So $400 for 1 hr of labour. At the end of the day I still would not recommend them.

Had to get a tub spout replaced, Donaldson sent Megh out and he was awesome. Very professional, laid out exactly what he’s going to do and what he MAY have to do in a worst case scenario. Luckily the replacement went through without a hitch. He did have to run out and get a certain spout, but he came back quick and secured everything for us. Even gave us a few tips on how to keep our spout from breaking down again!

Highly highly recommend Donaldson, and if you get Megh, you’re in for good work.

Donaldson installed a new furnace, heat pump and thermostat in our home. Reed came to our house and provided quotes for a couple different manufacturers. He was professional and answered all our questions. Josh and 2 co-workers arrived promptly on installation day and completed the work. They were professional, courteous and neat. I will use this company again.

I am writing this on behalf of my Mother. Last week she had a service representative from Donaldson Heating and Air Conditioning come out to do some service on her furnace. Loved the fact that Donaldson E-mailed the name and a photo of the service technician before arrival. Great idea especially for people who live alone and who may be cautious. The service tech was friendly and polite, very personable, and very professional. He fixed the problem, keeping her fully informed. He did not try to upsell or create any unnecessary worry. I know she was extremely happy with the service and with Donaldson.

All the service people explain everything clearly and they make sure what they are doing is the right thing. Communication in the company seems to be really good. Many thanks!

I am very pleased with the service I received from Donaldson Heating and Air Conditioning. When my air conditioner quit working I chose Donaldson based on their great reviews and rating. My technician Jason quickly identified the problem but the outlook wasn't good. He was very professional in outlining my options and arranged to have a follow up visit with a comfort advisor to talk about a heat pump system.

My comfort advisor Chris was great, very personable. Chris took measurements of my place and then provided me with some clear no fuss quotes on a heat pump system, as well as air conditioner options. I appreciate that Chris took the time to explain the Government rebate process but did not try to include the rebate as part of the quote, this way there are no surprises. I also appreciate that there were no high pressure sales tactics, no pushing to make a snap decision, he just armed me with options and information and let me know he'd follow up in a few days.

I took some time, ran some numbers and ultimately decided to go ahead with the heat pump installation. I made an appointment with Energywerx for the initial Energy Assessment who came out right away at the start of the week. I emailed Chris with my decision and let him know the initial assessment was already complete. Chris was at my place the next day, he put in the work order on speakerphone right there in front of me which was a nice touch, full transparency, and I was set for an install that same week; could have had the next day but needed to visit the bank.

Installation day I had Saleh and Evan at my place, they arrived right on time and got straight to work. They took the time to explain their approach on each step of the installation. These guys worked tirelessly for the full day but that effort speaks for itself in the quality of workmanship they did. I really appreciate the attention to detail, Saleh even colour matched the patch in the brick where the former air conditioner line-set ran, remarkable. Evan walked me through the tests they were performing at the end and each of the changes they made as well as a demo of my new thermostat. My place at the end looked like they were never here, except for the shiny new Trane Resolute heat pump outside; everything was all cleaned up and the floors were protected while the guys worked.

I couldn't be happier with the folks and service at Donaldson, you are a credit to your industry.

A simple installation will cost you over 1k for less than 1 hour of work
