SANDRA! She is amazing. Let me start this review from the beginning.

I went to Donato Don Mills for the first time a few months ago and had a fantastic facial from Jamie. Unfortunately, on my way out I had an extremely poor experience with the male at the front desk.
After this exchange, I emailed the manager Ashley, and she was so apologetic, kind and professional. She offered me a complimentary facial and of course I accepted.

I booked my facial for my birthday and ended up getting a call back letting me know Jamie was no longer there, and therefore I couldn't get a facial. They explained that Ashley had allowed for me to pick any service/services that would be equivalent to the facial. So I booked a hair moisture treatment, trim, and blow out.

I have long thick hair that I am super picky about it, after I cut it into a Pixie and have been growing it back. I was a little nervous to go to someone new but SANDRA, oh Sandra, she did not disappoint. She listened to what I had to say, asked questions, showed me what she was going to cut before she did it and did a phenomenal job. She was quick, but took her time with details. Thank you Sandra, my hair feels so healthy!

Also, there were two different ladies at the front desk this time and they were phenomenal. Super kind, professional and attentive.

The place has gone down. The stylist are questionable. My touch up colour did not match and I am so disappointed as I paid so much for the base colour. It's over priced and under whelming. Stay away.

I absolutely loved my experience at Donato Salon and Spa at Don Mills! I been to this salon a handful of times! Each time, my experience has been nothing but great! The staff at the front counter greet all the customers with a smile and make.them feel welcomed! My stylist, Liana was just amazing!

The quality of the cut isn't much better than other places that are a third of the cost. Also, why are they not able to accept tips by credit card like every other place?

An excellent first time experience! Liana was really nice and professional. She saw the style I was going with and gave me recommendations on what changes should I make to improve the look.
These days it's not that easy to find professional like her. I hope she'll be valued by her management accordingly.
Would be very looking forward for the next appointment.

I requested for a long bob cut with volume in back and it’s certainly not what I got. It doesn’t even look like a bob anymore which is the hairstyle I had previously which had grown out. Definitely not worth the price for the quality of outcome. I am also frustrated that she took out a lot of hair, it looks like a full layer cut. I will not be going back.

I love this place and one of my favorite experts here is Jaime Chang. She is so kind and nice. I always prefer her to manage me.

I finally went to Donato for a haircut and it made my day! The talented Aqsaa cut and styled my hair and she did a FABULOUS job. It’s been a couple of weeks and I still love my haircut - that’s because she was so kind to to guide me how to take care of my hair and style them in my own. The salon is chic and the nicest staff - special mention for the sweet and gorgeous store manager/owner. Looking forward to my next appointment! ️

Ivy was incredible. I saw the haircut she did before starting mine and i instantly knew i trusted her with my hair. My haircut was perfect!

My experience at Donato Salon (Shops of Don Mills) with Tashana was amazing and so luxurious. Tashana did my highlights and hair colour. She's absolutely wonderful and made my experience so great. Tashana chose the perfect shade of colour and highlights for my skin tone and she executed on what I wanted. Her shampoo and hair colour techniques were so smooth and relaxing. I appreciate her customer service and the way she treated me. I will only be going to Tashana from now on. Ivy did my blow-dry and she was super gentle and styled my hair perfectly. Thank you Donato Salon for the most amazing hair experience. I look forward to my next appointment.

I have been going to this salon for a number of years, and my most recent visit with Andrea for balayage was excellent. The staff are friendly, considerate, and professional.the space is clearly managed very well & I would not hesitate to book another appointment for a touch up.

First time after 3 years, booked appointment at 5: 30. As arrived I was asked to wait 30 minutes, then another 15 minuets… then when I returned, waited another 10 minutes, so receptionist can finish her phone conversation… She asked me to wait another 30 minutes or perhaps reschedule for some other time. So rude and arogant. This is not the service the drive me there when in Toronto since 2010.

Great hair cut (thank you Sandra). Loved my babylights (Ivy you were great). That is where my positive review ends. The over all salon experience was very disjointed. It seemed like every service provider was on their own. Front desk staff were distracted and seemed uninterested in client care. There is clearly a management issue, not a hair care/stylist issue. When you go to a salon like this (and pay prices like they charge) service from front desk to hair washing should be top notch.

This is my first time visit at Donato Hair Salon I came out there very impressed and happy. Ivy was really nice she even came back and ask me how I like color that she did on me. I will definitely coming back in the future

The best! My hair was boring and heavy. Ivy gave me volume, layers and the best scalp massage. During covid we all need to feel safe and glam. Thank you for another great cut

I always get complimented on my hair and it's all because of Sherry @ Donato Don Mills! I trusted her ever since she helped bring my hair back to looking and feeling great. I always leave loving my hair and enjoy the experience. She's great at talking through the process and delivers great results while keeping the integrity of my hair. The salon has been great even during covid, following safety precautions with taking temperature, requiring questionnaire to be answered, and staying on top of cleanliness/sanitizing.

Visiting Donato Salon and Spa at Shops of Don Mills is so therapeutic for me. All the staff is very nice and welcoming. I also felt very safe considering the pandemic circumstances. Ivy made me feel and look like a million bucks! Cannot wait for my next appointment.

I’ve been going to this salon for over ten years and I have watched this place decline significantly. This location requires quality control and the Manager Sarah needs to go. She does not like her job and she will be the reason why u have lost all your customers. Very rude, terrible customer service, staff moral is low and it is obvious because the staff appear not to care, and overall you DO NOT get what u pay for as a paying customer. I’m never going back.

Sherry coloured and cut my hair, and it was the best experience I've ever had at a hair salon! She is very friendly and informative. She explained all of the effects of bleaching and taught me a better haircare routine. I wanted ashy, grey tones, and she managed to do just that. The end result was beautiful. I recommend Sherry to anyone looking for a hair change!
(note - the salon covid regulations made me feel comfortable and safe)

Always great service when I come here. I love when Ivy does my hair. She's done my hair twice, big blow out with waves and they always stay until the next day. They also call to confirm your appointment. I'll always come back to get my blowout here.

I like the fact that everyone is given a temperature test offering a measure of ease during these crazy times.

I got my hair colouring with Tashana; and hair cut/blowdry with Sandra. I'm so grateful for both of them. Tashana is kind and attentive. They both did an amazing job. It took me forever to find a someone who can do the hair colour I had in mind. I'm very satisified.

If you are someone who hates going to the salon because you never get the results you want or are someone who has been spending & looking for years for the perfect place to receive dream hair.let me introduce you to Donato Salon. More specifically, Sherry. She is not only talented but very thorough, communicative, and most importantly educational. Unlike many, she does not force what she believes to be the “right look” onto you, she merely suggests. There is no such thing as coming out of the salon with the exact look you want (if you are using a photo as reference) however, she will have you coming out with a look you didn’t even know you wanted whilst looking 10,000X better! Your time with Sherry will be filled with tossing ideas around, each person contributing towards the goal of giving a client their dream hair! 10/10! She’s on the pricy side but it’s worth paying good money for good hair rather than paying lots of money overtime for many trips of bad hair.

I came here as soon as salons opened again in stage 3! Im actually from Mississauga so it was my first time coming to the Shops at Don Mills location and it was amazing. The service was lovely, and Tashana my colourist did a phenomenal job with the balayage treatment I asked for. My hair was black prior to the balayage service i went in for and Tashana was willing to work with me to do endless treatments and sessions to get the desired hair colour. Shes also fun to talk to and I enjoy seeing her!

I love Sammy, but I got my hair colored by Yasi and not only was it an awkward experience but she doesn't know how to blend.

Booked a cut/style w Aqsa. She was amazing and so sweet. I loooved the blunt cut she did for me.
Will book w her for my next cut.

Sherry is amazing. She takes the time to provide education about your hair type and how the cut/colour/treatment you’re doing is doable. I have gone to her for cuts and colour and it’s the first time my hair has stayed healthy. I have never experienced the crunchy yellow hair that can happen when going from dark to light. She is realistic about your hair type and will work with you to make sure you achieve the look you want. She ensures she checks in with you about price whether it’s your first time or a regular. She actually cares about you as a person and I love that about her! Also as someone who was working and then went back to school she has always provided cost effective solutions to the products I am able to afford. With COVID- she ensures that she has enough space between appointments to clean effectively and always has her mask on. If you’re visiting donato- definitely ask for Sherry! She won’t let you down.

Sherry makes this place the best place! She has been taking care of my hair and helping me reach all my hair goals for years. Every colour I have asked for, she gets it to look even better than I expected and even when I’m not 100% sure what I want, I trust her enough to do what she thinks is what I want based on ideas or pictures because that’s how good she is! She is literally the best at what she does. From start to finish, she makes you feel comfortable. Always sets the right expectations with price and process of what you want. She’s so honest. She is also one of the cutest, sweetest people I know and I’m so glad we have become friends over the years!

A very well-established salon with great team of artists. Sandra is the great hairstylist who always takes care of my haircut in the best possible way. She does it with passion. She deserves to be awarded 5 shining stars.

I had the most incredible experience here with Sammy today. I showed her just one picture of my hair from 13 years ago and she took the time to ask important questions like how my hair and my hair care routines have evolved over the decade so that she could do that style some justice. I have honestly never had such a pleasant experience with a stylist before. She's so intuitive and professional and very highly skilled - I actually want to be friends with her. It's probably the best haircut I've ever had, so much body. Wish I could give more stars.

Paid a lot of money to get my hair colored here a year ago. It was overpriced, I had to dry my own hair, and I swore I would never go back. Then I decided to give it one more chance due to convenience. It was more expensive, they got the color wrong, and I paid an extra $100 for a series of keratin treatments. Just found the treatments online for a fraction of the price. Disappointed. Very nice ladies though.

The women at the front (answering their phones) are extremely rude. For the amount you pay, you would expect better service. I spend a minimum of $500 each visit and their colourist/stylist always try to up sell their products. I have found a better salon and don't plan on wasting my money here anymore. I hear the Don Mills location is not doing well (according to the workers - I understand why). Perhaps the owner should take some time to visit this spa and ensure stricter hiring standards.
