It was clean but kinda sad looking. Staff was weird and made me pay in advance.

Got the shawarma plate. It was in the top 5 I've ever had. Great shawarma, would return.

The flavor and meat is good. But never in my life have a had bread this stale and hard served to me. Waste of money to buy a meal you can't eat.

Been going to this spot since before covid.

Sadly, I'm going to have to add Doner King to my list of boycotted food joints due to price hikes. Years ago a Classic Chicken Doner Sandwich was ~8$, now it is $13, I understand inflation this and that. However, when the owner hiked the price from the 8$ to 10$, he pleaded it was due to ingredient costs going up which is fine. But a 62.5% price in crease when the quality hasn't gotten any better, if anything went down, is ridiculous.

Today was the final straw, it seems every time I go into this place now I am paying more money for hit or miss food. What you get really depends on who is making it, some employees are rude and barely fill the sandwich, some employees load it up with meat and sauce, and sometimes you just get a mediocre sandwich. There is no consistency at Doner King other than the prices consistently rising.

More of a rant part here, but during my visit today I put my order for 2 doner sandwiches in. Walked over to pay and put a 20$ bill and a 5$ bill on the table, because previously that covered the order. The owner just looks at me and says "do you have a dollar? " Me being confused thinking he just wanted to round the change out or something. Nope, he didn't tell or show me the total, he just assumed I knew the prices went up again. Left me standing there like an idiot.tldr; Food can be good but its a coin flip each order whether it will be or not. Definitely not worth it for the price though, there are so many cheaper options that are better quality.

It should be called Indian Döner. The quality and taste are different than a real döner (and it's the same for shawarmas). I've tried two other places where the workers were Indian and I disliked the food. I gave it another try today (and last time) and this one was the worst. You could also smell a little bit of sweat in there.

One of my favourite shawarma places! Meat is so tender, juicy and flavourful. Portions are also large - definitely a must when you're in the scarb/markham area!

I just got take out. Worth trying. Got the dinner plate. Nice big portions and it tastes good!

Got an awesome doner for takeout. Was so huge, I had to share it. This doner was amazingly delicious.

This place is a health and food safety concern, end up with food poisoning after having their food. Would stay far from this place.

I don't review a ton of places but the food, service, and overall vibe of this place made me want to leave a good review to counter some of the recent negative feedback this place has received recently.

I have to say I was surprised. I planned to go to a nearby restaurant for lunch but when I found out it was closed, this was my alternate choice. A nice couple runs this restaurant and were friendly and efficient with their service.

The restaurant was very clean though I will say seating is limited.

This is the first time I've ever seen "Doner Kothu" (pictured). This marriage between Turkish and Sri Lankan cuisine is TO DIE FOR. It was so good, I find myself saddened knowing my lunch today is a miserable little ham sandwich. The spices, textures, flavours, are all on point. I will say that the "Doner" in the Kothu is actually more like chicken shawarma but I'm not an expert. In any case it was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area or passing through!

Wasn’t much of a wait. There were 2 people ahead of me. They were very courteous during the wait offered fun chit chat. I ordered doner fries and a sandwich. Food was so juicy especially the doner fries. That was probably my favourite eat of the week. You could tell it was made with love and I will definitely be back on my next cheat day:)

This is my go to lunch spot for a HUGE and affordable lunch (seriously I have to go nap in afterwards.).

The only issue is that sometimes the service can be a bit slow as others have stated, there’s roughly a 7 to 10 minute wait per customer in front of you. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and the owner has additional people in which reduces it to a reasonable 5 minute wait.

I’d recommend going between 2: 00PM and 3: 00PM as this is the time I’ve found it to be the slowest during the lunch hours.

Always get hot sauce and garlic sauce on your fries, you won’t regret it! (At least not until the next day)

The bread they use for their sandwiches aren't the best to eat with. The bread is small so all the ingredients fall out and creates such a mess eating.

The service at Doner King was trash. The owner is the kindest man but his staff are not fully there. The three stooges I had to deal with seemed high or tipsy. I ordered three items but they only had one completed. When I let them know my other two orders they then proceeded to make me pay, thinking everything was in there and I went home to realize they forgot my third item… I had to call three times before they asked me to come back and they let me know they were closing soon. Once I arrived, the person in the back gave me the last item and apologized. I should mentioned when I ordered another order came right after for 3 sandwiches and they completed their order and proceeded to tell me how busy they were but no one was there. When they found out they forgot my two missing items the two staff in the front ran to the back giggled and proceeded to be klutzy and I could hear a bunch of stuff falling on the ground. My wings were still pink when I took them home to finally eat them. I have attached a photo for proof. Please use caution when going to this place to order. Maybe just order their fries and salad cause they cannot screw that up.

Doner King used to be my favourite cheap-eats spot! But the quality is now inconsistent, gave me and my boyfriend diarrhea for a few days. The service is hit and miss, usually good. Prices have gone up to a fair price. Portion size is usually good.

This place should not be called Doner King.the bread is dry and there is no real authentic sauce. The food quality has also diminished over the years. Do not go here

Yummy Chicken Doner. Great value for your money. Speedy service. It would be a 5 star if bread was better or offered Turkish deserts or salad was chopped smaller etc.

Hands down the BEST Kothu Roti spot in Scarborough! The whole variety of high quality food the restaurant offers is amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is my go-to doner and kothu roti place in the city. Flavor never disappoints and the portions and prices are worth it. Highly recommend you check it out

First of all I have eaten doners across Canada and to call yourself doner King u need to have doner sauce but the food was good the beef had a good flavor. It's 2 stars because they had no sanitizer and would not alow us to wash our hands b4 eating

One of our go-to restaurants for quick, fresh comfort food! We usually go for the kothu roti, but this time also ordered the chicken doner sandwich. As always, the food is super fresh with generous portions. Come with an appetite!

Food is delicious. However the service is completely out of wack. Very very slow service especially during the lunch hour.

Definitely worth a try. I had the doner mini and it quite filling. For $5, you can't complain. There was a decent amount of chicken and the sauces were tasty.

Best place for doner in the area. Ask for extra meat and they will load you up on protein. Delicious sandwich and plate year round

Love the doner items such as the sandwiches and fries, highly recommend them, tried the white pasta today and disappointed. Feel like $14 was too expensive.

Was in this plaza and wanted to grab lunch, so checked this place out as the reviews are very high.

I got the large doner sandwich, and the bread was SO stale that would have choked on it had I not bought a drink.

The toppings and sauces were decent, but the meat was cut into chunks rather than thinly sliced like doner should be.

An ok place. We came to get cocos next door and noticed this place, thought let's give it a go. Good value for sure and the sandwiches tasted good, but the second time we came chicken was super dry. The bread was really good, and am not usually a fan of buns, but this bread is almost like Persian focaccia.

Staff was pretty rude when I was asking questions as I haven't been here before. The food wasn't very good. The bread was extremely dry and stale which made the sandwich unenjoyable.

The food was good. But really bad experience with employees. Had to wait for 45 min to get a shawarma sandwich. The employees were busy walking around and not sure doing what. I don't think I will go back again to wait that longer again.

Ordered Doner poutine. Took 20 minutes for them to get it ready. The customer service people were nice but incompetent. The doner rotator was not even on! Kept turning the heat / up down. Pretty pathetic to see how they “manage” the place.

The poutine was okay - too salty to taste any flavours. Never going back. Paid $12 for small amount of food that took forever to serve and was too salty to enjoy.

Great food, reasonably priced, and friendly staff - I always travel a decent distance to get food here.

So far so good. Tried Chicken fries and chicken rice platter. It's very tasty and salad is fresh too. Love the sauces they put on it.

Prices increased. Food is inconsistent. Do not go too close to opening time or they will serve you leftover dry chicken. Staff is friendly though. Overall, not worth going anymore.
