Manager at night was so rude while taking the order. I wasn'tgiven the name after asking but the tone she kept using throughout my visit in the store was not appropriate. I asked to mix one more sauce on the pizza and we paid for that as well. But manager was shouting that I'm not gonna be here guys please start charging more even if they want extra sauce and everything should go on receipt, we can't give free food those were her words. That's not the customer service you provide at least by the manager but all other staff were polite.

Went there yesterday for lunch. We ordered a pizza and the apple pecan salad. Both were delicious.

We did a take out order of 4 pizzas (one for each family member). The were accurate on timing. The the crust, sauce etc was great. However, the toppings are very sparse. For example, I ordered a "make your own" with kalamata olives, chicken, onion & mushroom. There were maybe 5 pieces of each of these toppings on the entire pizza. Overall, the pizza was good, but they could certainly be more generous with toppings. I may try again.

If customer service was offered as program at McMaster, the team here at this dough-box deserves a 4.0 GPA for going above and beyond for our large group dining.

A bunch of friends and I visited this restaurant and were welcomed in at the cash register in the most spectacular way. The staff member assured us about the kitchen process, portions, giving us a Beef Pepperoni sample prior to ordering. All prior to cooking maintaining freshly made pizza’s that were full of flavour.

Our ‘Electric avenue’ pizza and Nutella dessert pizza really hit the spot with an awesome balance of sauces, aroma, presentation, and the serving temperature was hot.

Thank you so much to our host and staff team for one of the most meaningful dinners of 2023, from our greeting, to our goodbye. Would visit again 5/5! Especially with a party of 10 people or less.

Improvement Idea: Drink lid and Napkin Signage could be useful.

There’s a good variety in the recipe options and the time within which dish gets served is reasonably well! I’d definitely recommend this place for a nice pasta-pizza-oriented lunch.

The Pizza was really good bit the girl who made it was so rude, can't believe that people really have no respect for others. I would ask her anything and she would respond like I am speaking another language. I was there with a client, like I was professionally dressed and still got this behavior, so I wonder what it would have been if I was in my shorts

Dundas location: Ordered the twisted club for takeout because we’ve had it before and loved it but it was so overcooked that eating it was like chewing leather. Chicken was really dry (only found a few pieces) and the sauce was basically on just one half of the pizza. So not worth the money - very disappointing!

This is a slick operation: sort of Subway/Chipotle meets a real Napoli pizza place. Oven read 590F and had burning wood. Good ingredients that feel healthier than a typical pizza joint. Margherita was a little runny but tasted great, with good crust.

We always stop by at DoughBox to get a wood fired pizza when we go to Dundas area. I would say that we definitely going to try other pizza restaurants next time. We wanted to give them one more chance after our last pizza experience but something definitely has changed. The box feels so light when you get the pizza compare to what it used to be. Our pizzas were about 40% smaller than before. Almost no cheese.and toppings went down by 20%.

Pizza was great, but we were absolutely disappointed with the service. We were the only ones in line, and the staff member saw and ignored us for 5 minutes before asking what we would like. When ordering the pizza the staff member roller their eyes and sighed before responding. Customer service was not there what do ever. A shame.

I think this place is great and personally enjoy their pasta's! I will say that it does seem to be hit and miss sometimes with the quality/flavour of the meal - nothing to do with delivery as I go straight there to pick up my food! Looking for some consistency and maybe accept cash (you guys are in a University town after all!)

I have a complaint about service like others here. My order was called in. I arrived at the pick up time and stood at the cash and was studiously ignored by all behind the counter. When I did hail the closest person he checked the pasta orders that were ready and found only the order ticket. He appeared flustered and offered that they must still be making the pasta (it should have been there with the ticket). I waited another fifteen minutes and finally the young fellow came back to my ticket again. This time he conferred with someone else and it was decided that my pasta was mistakenly given to someone else. I waited for the order to be made up again, and left feeling very frustrated. I think the people there would have left me standing there indefinitely if I hadn't kept pushing myself forward. This isn't business 101, it's business kindergarten, ACKNOWLEDGE AND ATTEND TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!

Great pizza shop! After a small hiccup with my pizza they fixed the problem instantly. Very friendly staff, super clean dining area and great music

Super disappointed. My order was placed at 251pm because I know they get busy with long wait times. Supposed to pickup at 515, at 530 my husband was still waiting. Our food was cold, nothing was hot out of the oven, so I guess there was some mix up. No one at the store could explain what my husband was waiting for. The crust was good but would have been nice hot. May have been ok waiting on a weekend, but for a weeknight family dinner with young kids I'll never order from here again.

My location doesn’t have the ability to order online. We tried calling and no one answers the phone. We tried calling other locations and none answered. We tried driving to the restaurant,: guy in front ordered with an hour wait then staff disappeared.

Went first time to this cute pizza place! We enjoyed the wood over pizza. The pizza crust was so soft that my son did not leave anything in the plate! The veg grilled pasta and the salad was awesome too! Will definitely come again.

Based on the reviews we thought we'd check out Doughbox. Inside was roomy and looked clean and inviting, unfortunately the experience was a disappointment. Though we told him it was our first time in, the first person who processed who processed our order wasn't very helpful. I don't know if he was the one responsible for charging us for the unlimited topping pizza or if it was the girl at the end who rang us through but we ended up paying $45 for two small, two-topping pizzas. We had both on cauliflower crust (which we knew had an up-charge of $4) one with pesto sauce, chicken and green pepper and the other with red sauce pepperoni and green pepper. Both crusts were pale on the bottom and tasted bland. There was scant chicken and no pesto taste on the first, the 2nd was a little more flavourful but not by much.it was a miss for us and we won't be back.

Second time here and the food is amazing great tasting and fresh. The reason for 3 stars is both times now have found the girls serving to be not very customer friendly and appear to have an attitude which doesnt make a pleasant experience especialy when you order the make your own and dining in. The reason to dine in is to be out and enjoy dining and to take out it will be cold by the time you reach home. Customer service is also a big part of dining not only the food.

The dough is limp, not well done enough. The herbs on the pizza were excellent, but the sauce was a bit bland & the pizza to soft for my taste. I'm not sure if it's the way all the pizzas are made, but it wasn't very good.

Well this was my second time coming here.ordered 8 pizzas this time, took them home, saved two for the morning. I can't stop thinking about them, I want more. Fior di latte cheese is the BEST! Order the unlimited pizza, get whatever you want on It.seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.but it's really the whole experience too, staff is very friendly and strangely, way hing the whole process, you don't seem to mind the wait! I would recommend this place over and over again. I will never eat pizza from anywhere else again!

This place is awesome! The best way to describe it is like it's Subway but for pizza. Staff was very kind, patient and helpful qhen I was creating my pizza. There are so many options it was a little overwhelming. I recommend getting the unlimited pizza since that is were you get your money's worth.

Second time here, first time my Fiance got sick. They were super good about it and offered a free pasta. Came back in today and the service was outstanding. A prime example of how service should be. The entire staff was super wonderful the whole time and the Manager Matt was amazing. Highly reccomended as the food is just as incredible as the service. Red velvet cookies are a must have add on as well!

I heard a lot of good things about this place. So I wanted to check it out. However I unfortunately ran into some problems.
1. The pizza was under cooked and soggy
2. The wait times were extremely long. Half an hour to forty minutes
3. They got my salad order wrong
As for the pizza itself other than it being underdone, was decent. Nothing I would “go crazy for” but definitely better than many other pizza places out there. Given the price tag I would have liked the pizza to not have been under done. For this I am giving it 3 stars.
However the staff were friendly and were apologetic about the salad order and the undercooked pizza. They were busy tonight so I understand the long wait times.

Absolute con, went down as I saw on Instagram there was a promotion for pie day. Would not honour the deal and was expecting me to pay $30 for 2 pizzas as opposed to $6 as per the deal. This was because you had to download the app the day prior as the app only updates every 24 hours-who would know that? It says no where on the Instagram and it actually says come to the store or order online giving the impression that you could also just ores at the store. When I questioned the manager and told him that he should honour the deal he said no and that he will take it up with marketing, he was extremely rude and lacked any notion of customer service. I have been a regular here since I discovered it over a year ago, I will not be back and will be telling others to do the same!

Not as expected low quality cheese and the meet has no taste like it’s an expired products.
It looks like he is using very cheap ingredients to save cost.

On the other hand I don’t know what is wrong with the owner come on bro not only you who owns a pizzeria in oakville.

We have been to dough box before and the first few times they were extremely timely and everything was delicious.

The past few times we have waited upmost 45min for 1-4 pizzas which is unacceptable for something marketed as more of a quick service spot.

The latest time we ordered 2 pizzas there were only 2 guests waiting for their pizzas but we were in the store for 45min waiting for our 2 pizzas as we watched tour employees not prioritize in store orders and proceed to make orders for people that were not there to pick up. When questioned about this staff were rude.

All in all will probably not be returning

Great pizza but was very disappointed on how they handled the gluten free pizza. You can’t use the same ladle and container of sauce as the regular pizza. This is cross contamination and you need to educate yourself on this. This is where Blaze is stronger. I think the pizza in here is fantastic though but bad when it comes to this part.

From the moment I walked in, the ambience and atmosphere, the customer service, right down to the food, I was so impressed and satisfied. Love how the food is prepared right infront of you, it's actually quite interesting to watch.
The carbona pasta was amazing, the rustic veg pizza delish.can't wait to try everything else on the menu!

Had a great time brought the whole family. The pizza was awesome. Great hospitality too! On a side note my son and I loved the Habanero Pepper Sauce.

If you want to experience wood fire pizza. Than this is just that place that will make you want to come back every single week to get one of these pizzas. The way the pizza is made, to how the staff is always supee friendly, to how the dining room is super comfy. Heck, even the music they play is hella sick! This place is all around awesome! I live for thd four cheese pizza and they never disappoint when they make this pizza. I bow down to whomever created this franchise because it is definately one of a kind and amazing! *slow clap *

Love the pizza! The pasta is a little under sauced in my opinion. The dough is great, and the pizzas are completely made to order. Will definitely be coming back.

The concept is cafeteria style. We were greeted by a worker who said it was ‘just like subway’. You choose how many topping you want and the choices are 1 or 2 or unlimited. The topping selection is good except they use canned mushrooms, hot peppers. I think the concept of the homemade wood fired pizza is what people would look for in a pizza. The fact that all the toppings aren’t all fresh is disappointing. The pizza crust was thin which I appreciate. The pizza turned out well. I don’t mind choosing my topping in a line but table service would be an improvement in the restaurant. It took 20 minutes from lining up to having a finished pizza which we waited to have baked whilst we stood in the corner on the way to the washroom. The location of the cashier and the fountain pop machine left us in the way of others and we were all left shoulder to shoulder. Not a well planned area considering how the food needs to be waited for at the end of the line. At the beginning of the line, the staff person said it only takes a minute and a half to cook the pizza but the line wait was considerable for a self serve type restaurant. I think it would be a fine takeout place but you are still forced to do the whole line as well prior to waiting. I’m not sure I would return to this concept. The idea of the concept is good but timing wise, didn’t cut it.

The pizza is legit. Thin crust. Perfectly cooked. You can customize whatever you like. Ready in no time. Right across from Ronald McDonald House so that's really handy. I'll be back!

It's like Subway but for pizza. Friendly staff, great range of toppings. But in they pricy side given the format.

Went for lunch. Different style of ordering. My pizza was ready to go in the oven but the girl bumped into one of the guys and most of my toppings flopped on the floor. Rather than starting all over again, they straightened up the dough and put more toppings on it. Almost as good as new.cooked up in a couple of minutes. Prolly tasted exactly as if it hadn’t been repaired but it just threw me off.
Really thin crust. Tasted, felt like a machine produced pizza.
No liquor licence. Fountain drinks - using Hamilton’s own chlorinated, fluorinated delicious water.
Overall, it just seemed gimmicky.
I hope it gets better.

Fresh ingredients baked fresh, quick. Friendly staff and very clean. Wife and I came in around 7 and seemed to just beat a rush. Liquor license wasn't ready yet but apparently in the works. Well definitely return with the rest of the family in tow sometime!

The restaurant is similar to a Subway, in that they assemble your pizza in front of you and then you wait for it to bake. Unfortunately you can't call your order in ahead of time, so I had to wait while 4 pizzas cooked (and then they made an error so I had to redo the process). It ended up taking over half an hour. I imagine that the dine in experience is probably better. The ingredients were fresh and the toppings selection is extensive. However the crust was floppy, so I would recommend ordering the thicker crust. The staff was very friendly, and apologetic about the long wait.

I think this is a great idea. Pizza made your way in a sub sandwich style of delivery and order. From your choice of many toppings, sauces, cheeses crust, made to eat within 15 minutes. Sit down or take out. Bear, wine or fountain pop to wash it all down. Some of the toppings are not fresh cut, ala the mushrooms, atleast the ones i chose, were from a can, i thought. Overall, a great pizza. Definately worthy a repeat visit to try an item from the pasta menu.

Yummy pizza made right there, under your eyes. Lovely service, it was a busy day and everyone was smiling, patient, and extremely helpful.

The wife and myself are very picky eaters. To give this place a try based on a recommendation from a friend is hard to believe. HOWEVER we loved it! My 4 year old loved customizing her own pizza, and for a picky momma on morhers day it was the highlight of the weekend! Staff were helpful given our first time confusion. Only thing I can think of that would improve Dough Box is the parking. Although we found somewhere close by. I'd give it a 6 star if I could. Anyone leaving anything less then a 4/5 star are just there looking for issues.

Excellent service.guy taking orders was very personable and efficient. Great prices and pizza was good, crust excellent however needs more cooking on top.need a broiler or more heat above. I had to put it in the oven at home.
But yes staff needs to keep wiping down the counters and out front where we line up since you're so busy. A little cleaner please but really really good pizza & toppings!

Really wanted to like this place. I'm sure once the students come back it will be popular, but I couldn't get past the mess. Pizza wasn't terrible but the quality of the toppings I was expecting better. Pasta was tasteless if your looking for a good creamy Alfredo this is just not it. In fact our pasta was ready before our pizza was even started even though the were at least 3 staff members doing absolutely nothing and no line up in front of us. As we watched them dress our pizza (which is the point of this chain) the mess of the counter tops and the state of the topping counter was extremely off putting not to mention the leaking ceiling. I like to mention that is was not in the middle of the dinner rush and there was an abundance of staff, there is simply no excuse for the state of the service area. Again the point is to be able to see it all.it should be kept clean at ALL times. Someone may also want to remind the staff of the FIFO as they were refilling toppings by simply putting fresh items on top of the already used items not to mention dirty containers. Be careful your health inspector will have a field day! If ya got time to lean ya got time to clean! I hope you can reel in your staff it's like watching money being thrown out the window. Someone needs to be in charge and show your employees how to take pride in their work environment.

Seriously the best pizza I’ve had outside of Europe. The staff was friendly, and the one building our pizza did it with lots of care and made sure toppings were evenly spread. I don’t enjoy most pizzas but I had four slices of my Dough Box one! Also, my bf appreciated how super clean the prep area was:)

Good pizza. Love the crust. Lots of topping selections and good combination of flavours in the pizzas on the menu. Friendly service, but a little slow in assembling the pizza. Had a large takeout order of 5 pizzas, and was told could not call ahead for pick up. Each pizza had to be assembled while standing at the counter, so by the time the last pizza was baked, the first one had been boxed and cooling for some time.

The people who made my pizza were very nice and welcoming. They explained everything very well to me, added extra toppings when I forgot to say them the first time, and they were smiling and looked like they enjoyed their time working

Then came the cashier. I went over to pay for my food and the cashier gave me a very cold “not ready for you”. Um excuse me? I am trying to pay for my food and it’s my first time here, if there is a certain order to pay your bill then at least explain that! There was no customers at the cash so I assumed it was my turn, not like I was cutting in line or anything. When she called me to pay my bill, I asked for a small cup for water, and she again rudely said “we don’t give cups for water, you have to buy a bottle”. Which restaurant doesn’t provide water? I didn’t get water and proceed to pay my bill. The POS Machine asked me to tip! Why would I tip if this place won’t even provide tap water and get rude comments when I tried to give them my money.

I am pretty sure it is illegal to refuse tap water, ESPECIALLY at an establishment that sells alcohol. I would have rated this place at 5/5 if I didn’t experience the cashier and lack of water. That was a solid 0/5.

I would like to shout out the lady clearing the tables, she was very sweet and attentive. Too bad I didn’t have cash, I would’ve left her a tip because she deserved it.

The environment is easy going and comfortable, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They made everything in front of you, there were lots of people ahead of us in line but the pizzas were made very quickly. The food is unbelievably good. Can't wait to go back again.

Was looking for good pizza places in the area and noticed this new place just opened up. I love the idea of making the pizza right in front of you. We shared the meetlovers pizza and I added onions and pepper to my half. The staff was extremely nice and helpful answering all my questions. The Pizza was Amazing! Nice thin crust pizza made the way you want, with those delicious burnt edges. I hope to be back soon to try the salad and pasta options. 10/10

Good pizza and it's great to have a decent restaurant by McMaster, but the canned mushrooms ruined the pizza for me. They have lots of gourmet toppings and I'm not sure why they wouldn't use fresh mushrooms.

Tried this place at grand opening and was pretty good. Went back to try the unlimited toppings version and pizza was completely burnt. Aftertaste of burnt crust overshadowed all pizza flavor, waited too long in line to even bother sending back.

Amazing Pizzas loved it, and the service is so quick.
Dine in was very neat and clean.
Staff is amazing making sure to checkin in regularly if the customers had a good time or not.
I definitely recommend this place, the prices are a bit on the higher side but it was totally worth it because the quality justifies it.

Nice thin crust pizza, and you can make your own. It's like Subway but for pizza. Really liked it. They have great seating and even a few big tables for larger groups. They have free condiments at the back of the store, too. Sadly I didn't see it until I was leaving. Will try next time though!

You get unlimited toppings! And they are all very high quality. The standard pizzas are not all great, but some of them are fantastic, like the Twisted Club.

First time I went I was disappointed by my margarita pizza because I felt it had too little cheese and basil. But they seem to have fixed that. Also I was told that I can just ask for more cheese/basil/anything for no extra cost. So make sure you do that!

Great, thin crust pizza. I've tried every pizza on the menu and love them all! My favourite and the one I recommend most is the twisted club. I love the environment and the fact that they take the time to get to know everyone's name and create a friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely Impressed with Dough Box. The building went through a high quality construction overhaul and looks great now! Staff was helpful and friendly and showed us the process for making our own custom pizza. Timely cooking and great taste. Definate repeat! (Pending liqour license will only take it to the next level!)

Doughbox is a long overdue wood fired pizza place in the neighbourhood a little west of McMaster University. I tried the Twisted Club pizza, which has parmesan basil pesto, grilled chicken, pancetta, mozzarella, topped with wild arugula, fresh avocado, tomatoes, and lemon pepper mayo. Although it was great to finally see a decent wood fired pizza place, the pizza tasted okay. The dough was good but the chunks of avocado were a bit hard. Overall taste was a bit bland. They didn't seem to have proper plates and cutlery yet so the pizza came out on a paper plate. They just opened early this month so they probably need time to fine tune their operation.

I know they just opened but the line and wait was too long for the end product. The staff were working hard and trying but its perfect for students not for real pizza lovers, sorry. Crust and toppings such as canned mushrooms just ok. Didn't try any of the pastas so can't comment on the pasta. The guy taking out the pizzas didn't have enough room to put pizzas in queue for slicing.

The dough actually tastes good here, combined with the toppings makes its like 98% perfect. Some burnt edges on some of our pizzas but expected from a wood stove. Very clean tables, lady works hard to keep everything nice add tidy. Price is fair as it's a personal pizza.

Came for their taste test trial run where they generously handed out free full pizzas and medium/large pastas to everyone that walked in! The owner also went around asking for everyone's honest feedback. Super nice, very welcoming, polite, all of the above.

The spicy buffalo chicken pizza I ordered was made 100% to my liking. All the staff asked if I was happy with how many toppings and sauce they put on each step of the way, always using my name to keep my attention and make things personal, which was interesting and nice for a pizzeria.

My friend's pasta order got mixed up with another girl's, but it was still good nonetheless. Can't complain considering it was free, just hopefully it doesn't happen often once they officially open.

Their gluten free crust is just as good as the regular crust. We ate in, the restaurant atmosphere is nicer than most take out restaurants. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
