Everyone was so nice, to our pets and to us. The vet knows what he is doing! It can be hard to find good vets for rats, this is probably the best vet I’ve seen for them. They also sent us a condolences card in the mail when one of our rats died. Their prices are also very reasonable. I would 110% recommend coming here.

I recently took my dog here after switching vets, and was very pleased with the entire experience. The vet is very friendly, and really playful with my dog which helped calm down his anxiety. He exudes a passion for animals, so I feel comfortable trusting him as my veterinarian. The technician was great too, very friendly and helpful. Happy to have found this clinic.

I brought my newly adopted “foster-fail” to see Dr. Ravi Rai for a checkup, and I was scared my cat was going to be anxious like he was at a previous clinic. To my surprise, he was immediately very comfortable and happy to receive pets and treats from the caring staff and Dr. Rai himself. The clinic was calm, clean, and welcoming. Everyone was incredibly gentle, kind, communicative, and made us feel well cared for during our first appointment here. You can tell that Dr. Rai is very passionate about the well-being of his patients. Most importantly…Mr. Duke loved his experience there so we are here to stay! Thank you for the awesome visit on behalf of both of us!

We have had to bring our little guy in a couple of times, the most recent being after-hours in an emergency situation. Dr. Ravi Rai has always treated our little guy with such care and compassion, and has always been very professional. Although we always hope our little ones stay safe and healthy (as I am sure most pet parents would agree) and hope to never have to go back (kitty agrees), I am very glad there are people like Dr. Ravi out there to take good care of them when we have to.

Dr. Rai has been caring for my pets since soon after he opened Downey Animal Hospital. He is kind and compassionate and has provided excellent care to all of them, at times going above and beyond my expectations. The other members of his staff are always helpful, welcoming and also wonderful with the animals.

They have taken good care of my dog for the past 6 years and are always pleasant and knowledgable to work with making sure we're both good!

Dr. Rai is amazing. He is great with our big strong bouncy boxer and gives very straight forward service. If we don’t need something he tells us. Highly recommend Downey Animal Hospital!

Dr Ravi Rai and his team at the Downey Animal Hospital are completely amazing! They saved my little Abbey's life, our beautiful 7 year old cat! We thought for sure we had to put her down because she had a couple large masses on her stomach and she lost tons of weight in a very short period of time. We assumed that she had cancer and that there was nothing that could be done. We were devastated to say the least as she means the world to us.
I think any other veterinarian would have said that there was nothing that could be done, but Dr. Rai is not like any other veterinarian. He said that he didn't feel right to put her down before trying something first. He even covered some of the costs because he wasn't sure if it would work. He gave her some medication and monitored her closely every day, and even throughout the night.
During her stay, all of the technicians and Dr Rai were so loving and caring towards her and ensured that all of her needs were being met. After a few days later, and to our surprise the masses disappeared and Abbey started to be her normal happy self again. Throughout her stay, Dr Rai always gave us updates, at least twice a day to let us know how she was doing. He even did extra x-rays and had her stay there longer, and even covered some of the expenses, because he wanted to ensure that what he was doing was working. He also figured out the root cause for her to become so ill, and recommended steps to prevent this in the future.
We are so grateful for all that he did and his team of technicians. They are always so friendly, positive, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. You can tell that everyone that works there are so passionate about helping animals and will do anything to help them. There are not enough words to describe how amazing they are at this animal hospital. They are also very affordable and truly care for the well being of the animals. They always go above and beyond our expectations! I highly recommend him and his wonderful team to anyone. Thank you for everything!

I am delighted to inform that my experience at Downey Animal Hospital was amazing! The vetrinarian, Dr. Ravi, and the entire staff welcomed me and my kitten for our intial visit with genuine kindness and respect. I was given an appointment immediately on the same day that I called, when other vet clinics that I called, ignored my requests and could not accomodate me until one week later. Dr. Ravi took great care and interest with my 'unique' concerns and 'requests' regarding the kitten and the 'unusual' circumstances I found myself to be in. He provided excellent care, medical, nutritional and treatment information. He's the 'finest' vetrinarian I have ever had in all of my 50 years in owning and caring for my pets. I truly mean this! The entire staff was friendly, courteous and very organized. The clinic is very clean and well managed and provides excellent nutritional products. I was assured that should I ever require after-hour care or that in case of an emergency, or experience another unique circumstance with my pet, they would be available and only a phone call away. And of utmost concern, I found the fees for the care and services my kitten required and for follow-up care to be very reasonable and affordable, given the current inflationary market. My dear pets are as much a part of my family as my children and grandchildren. Thank you Dr. Ravi and staff for understanding and respecting the important relationship that pet owners have with their pets and for your expertise and knowledge.

I trust Dr. Rai and his friendly staff to care for my 4 month old Papillon Rocky. For many years Dr. Rai cared for my Papillon Lorchen who passed away at 17 years old last year.

Highly recommend downy animal hospital. We can not express
enough how incredible the Dr and his staff are! They all are very nice and you can see how much they care and are very knowledgeable.
His prices are very fair compared to many other places he is not out for the money he Genuinely cares of your loved one. My 6 month kitten (a sphynx) had a bladder stone the surgery was a success the care she received was fantastic and so full of love from them all and stone was removed and she is great. Can’t speak highly enough about this place. You can genuinely feel the care from every staff member and prices are reasonable to care for your furry loved ones. Every time I’m there, there are several animals in for appointments and you can see the high quality care each of them are receiving. I feel my dog is in very good hands here.

They were really good at handling my dog who was very stressed out about being there. They were calm, patient and the vet was very understanding about my dogs special needed. Would definitely recommend.

Our guinea pig injured her leg and we were so happy to get an appointment quickly. Sam at the front desk was friendly, kind and helpful. The vet was great with our guinea pig and we were very happy with her services. We will definitely go back the next time we need veterinarian services.

I have used Dr Rai for my dogs since I moved to Guelph 4 years ago. He is kind, extremely knowledgeable and great with my pups. You will not regret taking your animals here
