Downey's Apple Farm

They have so many different types of apples and they give us enough time to taste and take apples

I visited the farm today with my senior parents. It was an awful experience to them since staffs are outwardly ill-mannered, arrogant and rude. I am not exaggerating but all staffs seem to be grumpy.

My mom was holding an apple and was warned that she will be paying extra for the apple on her hand in a "threatening/ridiculing" manner. The staff even said that she can call for back-up in an instant. Imagine, just for a single apple. The $42 we have paid for the visit is not worth it.

We DID NOT enjoy our visit. A bad experience which we will never forget.
Save yourself from a bad day, go to other apple farm people.

Good place with reasonable price for picking apples. However, they should pay more attention on the toilet. It’s horrible: (

The worst apple farm i've ever been.staffs are so rude and unfriendly. All staffs have attitude.

One staff is shouting - "No tasting, no eating, no phototaking, no throwing whatsover" as if she we didn't pay for a ridiculous fee. You will feel shamed in this farm.apples are just lying rotten on the floor and yet staff keeps on warning no eating and no tasting. SO GREEDY!

Trees are tall and old.
Better go to Dixie Orchards. They have younger apple trees.

WILL NEVER VISIT THIS FARM EVER AGAIN.
WILL NEVER RECOMMEND.

Rude workers and the owner seems to stand with them. Will not be visiting this farm again. Will go somewhere where they still appreciate business.

Love this family farm, it's to. Its got everything you need in a fun, family farm outing.

I make 2 trips a year to this farm with my family. Great for picking fruit and making memories with the family. We love it so much, that we have started taking our yearly family photos at the farm.

My family enjoyed the taste of different kinds of apples. And the Apple Fritters made by the two ladies over there were so delicious.

As beautiful as Downey’s is My experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival there were signs that said no bags allowed inside the picking area. Which I assume is because they want to minimize “theft”.

However, having an 11 month old I assumed they would allow me to bring my diaper bag and a bottle of milk for my son.

After a bit of conversation with the ladies at the front and trying to reason with them by letting them know I would happily show them my diaper bag on the way out, I realize this may not be a place to bring young children.one of the ladies at the front even told me I wasn’t allowed to change my son there even if bags were allowed.

Obviously I took my family elsewhere where my child’s necessities could be accepted.

However, your response [Downey] to my post only further proves MY opinion that it clearly isn't as family friendly as advertised.

I loved that you could pick fresh strawberries from here:). But reason why I gave it a 4 star is because some of the strawberries were rotten. No offense #Strawberies #Fresh

Great variety of fruits to pick -especially apples-we’ve been coming back every year.

We visited Downey’s Strawberry & Apple Farm for raspberry picking in mid-July. Shown in the picture is the 3L basket. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and we would definitely visit again!

Note that they require a minimum spend of $8 (equivalent to 1L) per person.

Love going there for the strawberry picking and then going there in the fall for pumpkin picking. The grandchildren have a great time.

Our recent strawberry picking experience was a letdown. The strawberries we found were small, sour, and damaged by bugs and birds. It took us a frustratingly long time to fill our baskets with subpar strawberries, and we had hoped for better quality and size considering the price we paid. No wonder they had a no-refund policy posted upon entering the farms. We wouldn't recommend this farm to others looking for premium strawberries.

I have been to this place for strawberries and raspberries picking. It was an amazing experience and staff was very friendly.

I haven’t been there for now, b it I think, it is interesting there too as well as in Downey’s family farm where the strawberries grow.

We loved picking strawberries from the farm. This was our first experience at Downey’s and I was impressed with how the entire picking activity was organized in spite of the rush. The staff was very helpful. They had a small farm with domestic animals and was a good experience. They also had ample water points to have ourselves cleaned up which was good.

The strawberry was big in size and were very sweet. Looking forward to their apple picking season.

Came on July 8 2023 and the farm was extremely busy and the strawberry fields very picked through. The berries are quite sweet but small and hard to find. You will need to squat and look very hard to find good berries. Took a long time to fill a small basket. Raspberries were plentiful however. Wish I could have checked out the rest of the farm’s features like the petting zoo but doing all farm activities other than U-pick was an extra $14 charge per person. Wouldn’t recommend people coming for strawberries anymore this season unless there are more fields they plan to open in better condition.

Incredibly sweet berries! Friendly staff who are eager to help with just about anything you can imagine! They help make everyone's experience a wonderful experience whether it's your 1st time or 21st time!
Since it was my first time 2 weeks ago, I checked their website to see the 'do's & don't"s" of our visit. The kind staff reviewed everything when I arrived (eg/ no backpacks, respect any field boundaries, etc) and I enjoyed my time picking the most delicious strawberries I've ever had!

Had a bad experience strawberry picking here. The vast majority of the strawberries were rotten and the only ones that were okay were tiny. I accidentally walked out of the area they said we had to pick in and there were a lot better ones there, which leads me to believe they give people who come to pick the short end of the stick. Will not be coming back. Andrews scenic acres is a much better place for strawberry picking.

Hi, we went there with our 2 yr old daughter. Surprising they are charging for my daughter too. Upon asking they say its for all age. Not sure how others reviewed this but i will say one star as I paid for my 2 yr old daughter. Who can go freely anywhere in any other strawberry farm.
