Downtown Doctors Walk In Medical Clinic

The consultation lasted for one minute, even though I waited for 40 minutes. I was feeling very unwell with a fever of 40 degrees, and he told me to leave because I had nothing, without even checking my temperature. He dared to tell me that I had nothing when I was in extreme pain. Dr. Uhlig is an incompetent doctor. I wonder if he really completed his medical studies. Update: I had pneumonia.

Truly the most reassuring experience I've had at a walk-in clinic. The receptionist was realistic about the wait time and let me come back 2 hours later (at the estimated time when an appointment would be available.) The doctor was very kind and helpful and he even did an extra test for something I was concerned about. And then the in-house pharmacist was friendly and gave clear instructions. Thank you for taking care of me.

Accompanied a client here for first time (due to not being able to find available walk-in doc at 5 other walk-ins) Admin staff is a good communicator, efficient and kind. Thumbs up to nurse and doc as well. We waited about an hour or so, but that’s expected at a walk-in. (walked over to the Tim’s). Pharmacy is convenient and very good as well.

This was one of the most pleasant walk in experiences I’ve had. Receptionist was excellent. She was professional, friendly and caring. She always kept us informed of the wait length and was kind to everyone who walked in. Dr. Spring was also kind, professional and caring. I felt like I was in good hands with her. I strongly recommend my family see Dr. Spring at this clinic. Wait time was just over an hour. Thank you Downtown Doctors Walk-in Clinic for helping to ease the pain.

All five start to the front desk Staff and even more than five starts to dr. Lee, Dr. Lee from Vietnam, Dr. Lee make you feel so welcome like if you would be visiting not a dr.but your family member. She listen to you with patient, She discuss medical thing with you in a very clear way and she is always willing to listen to you without rushing you, Another five start Dr.there is Dr. Gagneo, I am not sure of my French but he speak Spanish with me very well, and he is very very sweet dr.
High five to Dr. Lee, the woman will soon be a super master of the medical feel.

I have been to this clinic twice and had a very positive experience. The staff is very friendly and the wait is exceptionally short. They seem to know what they are doing and don't mind prescribing blood tests to find the root issues as soon as possible, which is very much appreciated. Do call ahead to see if it's open, though. The website is not accurate.

Very helpful and friendly staff and doctor. Provided me with prescriptions that address my symptoms and pain. Also helpful with providing verification of illness note for school (it’s $20 extra though). The in-clinic pharmacy is also very fast and has very friendly staff.

All they’re interested in is cycling patients through quickly. Sent me home with no meds, requisitions for testing, or next steps when I absolutely needed that.

The wait was kind of long (1.5 hours) but they fixed my ear infection with antibiotics so I can’t complain.

I tried several 'walk-in' clinics closer to where I live downtown, where I was told I actually had to make an appointment and the soonest would be in a week. Downtown Doctors actually operates as a walk in clinic. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful, including the doctors. Should I ever need a walk in again, I will go here without hesitation.

Great walkin clinic! Only waited about 30 minutes to see the doctor. She was very knowledgable and listened to my issues without rushing.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the doctor (since he didn't even introduce himself), I have a sore throat, a fever and a week-long cough, the doctor said that everything is fine. I prescribed a gargle, although the instructions say that the side effect is a sore throat. I wanted to have an X-ray, but he didn't let me. Horrible in one word, very dissatisfied

I have been to this clinic twice and had a very positive experience overall. The staff is very friendly and seems genuinely concerned by your health. The wait is exceptionally short. One doctor even spontaneously spoke to me in french because he noticed my name, that was a nice attention. Apart from that they seem to know what they are doing and getting tested for various issues is very easy. The doctor even ordered multiple tests at once so we would know what's wrong as soon as possible. That was much appreciated and a very refleshing experience.

Front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Both Dr. Freedman and Dr. Spring were caring doctors that helped quickly and were knowledgeable. Worth the walk-in, and wait times aren't anything crazy

Amazing walking clinic. Front desk and nurses are wonderfully nice and take good care of you. Dr Spring was really nice to me too, she cared and listened about everything I was telling her. Waiting time of literally 5 minutes (I came at the opening). I highly recommend! (Note that it was my first experience in Canadian healthcare system)

It was ok. The receptionist is nice. Most doctors will just refer you to a specialist without carefully taking a look at your disease.

Unfortunately had to see Dr. Called Freedman. He has no bedside manners, dressed very poorly, look unhygienic, unprofessional and made racist comments and rooms poorly decorated with his joke posters. Not listening symptoms, and when checking heartbeat pressed himself from behind. Disgusting to get assessed by this person.

I have been going this walk clinicin for many years all staff are very kind. Dr. Darcy Gagnon best Dr ever.

Sad to say I’m a regular here, but this walk-in honestly has some of the nicest, capable staff and doctors! It’s never fun to have to see a doctor but everyone here makes the experience that much better.

Don’t recommend. If you expect to get a call when your test results come in, or when you require further medical care, go somewhere else.

Deeply appreciative of Dr Spring’s compassionate style and touched by receptionist Lynn’s reliable follow up and authentic kindness. A place where good people do good work in the field of healthcare. Definitely my top choice for walk in clinic

Front desk was very lovely and helpful but doctor has no bedside manner and is very curt. I was very clearly disoriented off balance and shaky but doctor didn’t take any vitals like temp or blood pressure. Got home and it turned out I had a fever of 39.3 degrees. Got a referral for a pre-existing medical problem which was helpful but that’s all. Will not be visiting again.

Extremely helpful and caring staff. I walked in carrying my 11 year old who had a sprained ankle but who also unfortunately had just fallen and hurt her elbow very badly, and they helped me right away - bringing her ice, finding a chair with wheels to wheel her into the room. So thoughtful and helpful. Very appreciative of their help and attention. What a wonderful staff.

Amazing team at this clinic. They work so hard and remain in good spirits. Always feel taken care of and they show compassion. If you go to this clinic, PLEASE be kind to them and say thanks. They're in the trenches all day to take care of us.

Awful Doctor. I went in to see him about my sprained neck that is out of place and I cant look to the left from an injury. I went into office and seen no medical charts or licenses just posters of 80s hair metal bands. The doctor had faded Jean's on, a 5clock shadow, and messy hair. He told me I have arthritis from old age and asked me if i wanted any tylenol. I am 35. He did this simply because I am indigenous and expressed how triggered I was by all the B. S.in the world today and he didnt like me. He sent me to a sports medicine doctor and DID NOT provide the report of my xray to that new doctor. I am now being told to do excersises to strengthen neck and it is getting worse everday. I have snapping and popping and cracking at every motion and my chronic headaches are getting worse everyday. I try and be nice to people but I am getting very aggressive and violent now because I dont understand why no one will help my neck. May your kids suffer for eternity for what you people do here. The office message machine gives you a 5 minute B. S.run through of their chaotic, unorganized, inconsistent operating hours and then tells you "this machine does not take messages" and hangs up on you. This country needs less of these pharmaceutical drug mules who only follow Stupid Canadian textbook procedures and policies in order to make the pharmaceutical companies rich and only send elite people to specialists.

A wonderful medical team who showed so much care, concern and comfort during a very worrisome time - I cannot thank everyone there enough for their help and advice. It was very apparent that the team is comprised of excellent physicians/nurses who are problem solvers and truly care about providing assistance and achieving a desired outcome for the patient. I was actually shocked by the level of service at this clinic and am so thankful!

The nurse and doctor were both very kind. They took time to explain things, and asked if I had any questions.

Very friendly helpful staff at the front desk, pharmacy, and the doctor too - they clearly care about you. I didn't have to wait at all to be seen which was a huge plus.

I went to this walk-in clinic because I was having kidney stones crises. Dr. Friedman saw me for only 2 minutes and requested an ultrasound. After I have done the ultrasound, and been diagnosed with 2 kidney stones of 6mm each, they never called me because the doctor had signed my reports off. I’m under pain for more than 17 days waiting Dr. Friedman to contact me for the next steps and he did not contact me at all, he completely disregarded my health!
This is so unprofessional and I cannot believe that a doctor did it to me! I’ll for sure report it to the right health department in the province of Ontario!

Good clinic. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and doctor. Little to no wait time if you go during weekdays.

5 stars is for the receptionist that has been with them for the last 6 years.at least. So lovely. I wish more front desk staff could learn a thing or two from her manner and patient disposition. Saying that, the new offices aren't the best. The old office had its charms but this move was not an improvement.

Not a beautiful space, but I felt very taken care of and dr. Spring listened to me and She made me feel very well looked after.

I’ve gone here a few times since I moved to the Bloor & Spadina area. I caught a virus on a Saturday which resulted in basic chills, fever, weakness.and coughing up phlegm.

I went to the clinic this past Tuesday to be checked. When I arrived there were a few people ahead of me. What I thought was odd was after all of them went, 2-3 other white males (varying ages and separate parties) who entered after me and signed in were taken care of before me (a person of colour).

When I finally got to see the doctor he stated he heard nothing in my chest and sent me off without antibiotics or anything else (still coughing up phlegm which means there’s a disconnect).

You might be treated differently here if you’re a minority ‍️

Front desk won't let you see a doctor if you don't look sick enough. Outright lies when they don't want to do their job.

Doctor does not refill medication I've been taking for several years because 'we don't do that medicine here', despite them having done it in the past. Prescribed me something completely new with a preface, 'They're incredibly addictive'?

Would not recommend.

Dr Friedman is awfully dismissive. He disregards my health history and minimizes the issue.other doctors here are generally very nice and thorough

I just moved to Toronto from out of province a couple of months ago and the stress of moving takes a toll on your immunity. This clinic has been nothing but great in helping me get through those illnesses. The wait times are quick but the doctors never try to rush you out (which is common in walk in clinics). Dr. Spring and Dr. Friedman are excellent physicians and I'm so glad that they helped me get through the move.

The clinic itself is very dingy, dark and dirty. Considering its in a medical setting the chairs, floors and rooms are visibly not cleaned.

The staff was friendly, but one particular receptionist/lab tech was not friendly and did not greet me and no eye contact was made.

During my visit, I over heard the doctor and nurse commenting on what my issues were which I thought was unprofessional considering it was out in the open for anyone to hear. The second time I was there two receptionists were screaming across the room whether or not my test results came back, again unprofessional.

Doctor prescribes me one week worth of anti-biotics, only to call me 2 hours later to come back in for a re-fill - when I asked about forwarding the prescription to nearby pharmacy close to where I live, the receptionist was rude and claimed they did not do that and I had to come back.

I go back to the clinic only a few days after and see the same doctor, and he did NOT to remember me, and I had to remind him he was the one that called ME in. Prescribes me two more weeks, and the pharmacy in the clinic is staring me down as they wanted to charge my insurance.

Overall, the wait time was fast, and I was in and out, however I would not go back as they doctor was looking to take advantage of my insurance and have me unnecessarily to come back only for a refill that he could have forward elsewhere.

To the front desk, its important to be at least greet clients as well as not giving attitude over the phone.

I do not recommend this clinic.

They don’t get back to you, you have to wait a long time. Very unorganized. Don’t waste your time.

On first visit the doctor listened, then examined, explained, and prescribed. He suggested a follow up visit, which I made a couple of weeks later. Excellent in every way.

Great experience at this clinic! Doctor and pharmacist were very kind and helpful. Will definitely return if I require walk in clinic services again!

First time here.good bedside manner. Went here just bc I was in the area & family doctor was way out of the way. It was easy to ask him questions & the way he answers and reassures you is comforting compared to my usual dismissive Dr. That I became reluctant to ask questions or see unless it’s absolutely necessary. Only thing that keeps it a 4 is the wait time.

I've been using this place as my primary health provider for nearly 10 years. It's pretty much always fast (in and out in under 45 minutes, often much faster), super central, accessible (now it's on the ground floor, no stairs, etc) and has a pharmacy built in.
Yeah sometimes the doctors are a bit harried but, dude, it's a downtown Toronto walk-in clinic, what would you expect?

The receptionist is not suitable to be a frontliner. Rude on the phone and in person. The doctor spent less than 2 minutes with me and was out the door before I even finish talking. Did not do a thorough checkup.

I went all over Toronto and Scarborough for effective treatment for a skin issue I was having. I was given the run around repeatedly, asked by each clinic to sign themselves up as my family dr and given numerous ineffective treatments. In a last ditch effort (it's far from my home and I thought I had to be Jewish to come, which is not true at all) I came here and was seen almost immediately and the Dr that saw me was so pleasant and helpful. He prescribed a super simple treatment that worked right away. This is easily the best dr's office experience I've had in my over 10 years in Toronto.

I have never experienced a walk in clinic doctor with such an attitude problem as Dr. Uhlig. I saw him today with a chest infection to which I prefaced my mom had been sick with pneumonia over Christmas and I was exposed to it, and that I was concerned because I had a history of pneumonia myself. To which the doctor commented, as an accusatory mumble under his breath, “why do you think you’re PRONE to it? ”. He then listened to my chest and after listening to the crackle asked what I’d been prescribed before. He seemed unimpressed by me when I couldn’t remember, as it has been years ago, and then angrily scribbled down on his prescription book and said he was giving me some antibiotics. When I asked him what he thinks is wrong with me he snarkily said “I don’t know, pneumonia? Since you’ve had it before. ” And when I asked whether I should have chest X-rays done his response was “what’s the point? You either get better or you don’t and then you come back or go to the hospital and then we’ll get X-rays”. I struggled to thank him for his prescription because I was in total shock of how he felt he could treat me with such disdain. Had my dad not generously left his job to come take me to the clinic today and I had gone alone I surely would have broke down crying after leaving the room.

I worked in the medical profession at a family practice for almost two years and I can say if our physicians treated any of our patients with such a flippant and misdirected lack of compassion they would have been reported to the college. I will certainly never return to this walk in clinic and I hope for other patients sake this doctor learns to treat his patients as people in need, not inconveniences.
