As others have already noted, this clinic is ridiculously overpriced and the vet is keen to suggest expensive battery of tests for minor issues.

We brought our cat is for a relatively minor problem. She had been recently accessed at another vet clinic and her health was deemed good for her age. But after a pricy assessment at the Downtown Cat Clinic, the vet told us our cat would need: blood tests, procedures, dental work, all adding up to just shy of $2500. We knew that our cat’s teeth (as different vet had recently told us) were in great shape, so this all seemed entirely unnecessary, especially since none of this had anything to do with the issue the cat was currently having. We then had to ask directly to have the vet look at the issue we were hoping to resolve, telling her that this happened in the past and the solution was not (previously) this complicated, which she finally and reluctantly agree to do. She quoting us the cost for treatment.

Upon pickup, we were surprised to find the charge was almost $200 over the quoted price. We asked to look at an invoice and the receptionist seemed confused by the request. Upon looking over the itemized bill, we noticed we were double-billed for the same exam. Again, confusion ensued when we asked for this error to be resolved.

The only positive interaction at this place was with a vet technician, who took time to patiently show us how to apply the medication to our cat.

Other than that, this place seemed like a complete money-grab. We will not be returning and encourage others to look elsewhere.

I really liked this clinic for my cats. They’re not well socialized so going somewhere that there weren’t dogs around helped ease them. Dr Kennedy and the techs were so wonderful and I’ve been generally happy with the treatment. My biggest complaint has been that their systems are really old and leads to a ton of confusion and lack of empowerment of the staff (from what I see). But if your kitties need special care, pls consider it. I’ve left mostly cuz it’s far for me and wanted a place with more modern systems, but Dr Kennedy made me want to stay with the way she treated me and my cats. It was a tough call. I’d recommend this place for any cat owners.

Pretty bad vet, overpriced, loves pushing for extra tests and fees, and not very compassionate. At one point they gave me some bad advice which led to an expensive emergency visit, I switched vets after that. They also have a ton of signs in the clinic threatening people who leave online reviews which is a huge red flag. The techs were nice though.

The vets are very patient and good with my upset & very vocal cat. They always explain pricing before they do a procedure and give me options. I appreciate that they take my questions and concerns seriously and have helped me learn a lot as a cat parent. Outstanding office, I've had good experiences with all the vets so far:)

Had to go elsewhere. Never had an issue but a 58% increase in price over 9 months for the same service is price gouging even in this inflationary market.
20 June 2023 19:27
I've been taken my cats to various vets over the years, this was the first vet in 7 years to identify that my cat likely had an allergy. For years the vets have told me that my cat's over-grooming was an anxiety issue, but using the medicine for allergies has worked! My other cat is very angry, I was told to medicate him and bring him back, which I did, he was still angry. Even angry, they managed to look at him and also provide medicine for a dandruff issue he was having. Very positive experience.

This is a wonderful cat clinic! I brought my cat, Zuzu, here a couple of months ago as a friend recommended them to me. The clinic has been nothing but kind, patient, and super attentive! They check on their patients, and really seem to care. I highly recommend!

Very competent. I understand that running a business and maintaining a pets health are both costly; however, it got to a point where I had to do some research re their pricing and learned that everything costs more, especially the medication. Every med I had purchased cost 45-50% more than the 2 local vets I called.
At this point, I still didn’t want to leave DTCC and enquired about having my prescriptions forwarded to an online pharmacy in order to save $$$.
Answer: Yes, but they charge a fee of $40 for every script to be filled externally, including refills.
The other two clinics fee. $26.
I don't enjoy giving a negative review but this atrocious overcharge was insulting and made my final decision to switch vets, unfortunately.: (

I have brought my cat here for years and just brought my new kitten for her first check up. The service was really great, the price was reasonable for the service and they were so good with her. Highly recommend.

Friendly knowledgeable staff! I know my princess pancake is in good hands when she's at downtown Toronto cat clinic!
23 February 2023 16:17
The downtown toronto cat clinic has been the best vet I’ve ever taken my cat to. You can tell that every single person who works there actually cares for your pet. My cat usually gets stressed out when going to vets but the fact that it’s a cat only vet really helps her anxiety.

She recently had a big treatment done (dental cleaning) and the team took such great care of her.

10/10 recommend

We took our cat in to see Dr. Kennedy (and Ms. Peckford). They were incredibly sensitive to his needs and triggers, very skilled at handling/soothing cats, and Dr. Kennedy was very thorough and clear. The front desk was lovely as well.

Very attentive and caring to my cat. Professional, friendly and timely care. Relaxing environment for cats

Remarkably cold and condescending phone call about the difficulty of bringing my anxious cat to the vet. Provided false information about pre-appointment sedation.
25 November 2022 22:09
I highly recommend DTCC - Dr Bonder is honest, professional, caring, and patient, both with humans and fur babies. I’ve sent friends and family to Dr Bonder over the past 15yrs. She’s the best!

Displeased with my first experience yesterday at the cat clinic. 3 months ago I found a stray cat on my driveway and took her in without knowing she was pregnant. Now I have her and her two 8 week old kittens who are still breastfeeding. I took them in for their first vet appointment at Toronto Cat Clinic yesterday. The technician was super sweet and personable but the other person did not leave a good impression on me. She did not introduce herself so I don't know her name. She came in and started asking me a few standard questions. When she learned that they were still breastfeeding she said it was absolutely terrible and not safe for the babies and that I must cut them off from their mother immediately - not only must they stop breastfeeding cold turkey but they must be separated from their mom immediately. I was really surprised to hear that and asked her why and she made me feel like I was being negligent and careless, saying I should have done more research about taking care of kittens and that they must be separated because that's the way the world works (how condescending!). I probed a bit more and she explained it's because it's bad for their gut bacteria. I called my dog's vet today and asked them if they agreed with the information she provided and they were shocked and completely disagreed with her instructions. They said that the mother cat will wean them off when it's time, that it's very healthy for them to breastfeed and that I should let nature run its course basically. That the mom will swat at them when she wants to stop breastfeeding. They said that kittens can breastfeed up to 12 weeks and it's totally normal and wonderful because I'm able to provide a safe environment for them.

All this to say, I'm disappointed in the experience and information provided.

My cat is a little nervous about strangers but they were great and loving with her, and her visit went without incident.definitely will return

For five years, Dr. Bonder and all her staff have always taken such amazing care of my cat Felix—I highly recommend this clinic!
11 August 2022 21:51
We recently moved to Toronto, and were looking for a new vet. Our last one was aboslutely amazing with our cats, and we wanted to find a similarly good experience in Toronto. Unfortunately, Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic failed to meet our expectations. The first time we brought our cats, they couldn't examine one of them. They told us to give her some calming medicine and come back again, but they charged the examination fee despite there not being an examination, and told us they would just not charge us the following visit. This didn't sit great with us, as we felt they were keeping that money hostage and we had to return even though they clearly were not good with our cat. We came back after giving our cat the medicine, and once again, they were unable to examine her. The fee was, of course, not refunded, even though both visits amounted to about 15 minutes total, and we even provided the treats ourselves. They also kept pushing us to sedate her just for a routine examination and vaccines. Our cat has an autoimmune disease that means we've had to take her to the vet about 8 times in her 1 year of life, and we've never had such an experience before. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this clinic is very good at calming and treating cats. We won't be returning, and we do not recommend it.
22 July 2022 20:12
I'll start by saying that the staff there are very nice. Unfortunately I do NOT trust Dr Bonder. I went there with my cat because he was vomiting and it was nearby. I was told that he needed a dentistry urgently - in his report it stated that there were loose teeth and he would need extractions. I ended up going to another clinic later and scheduled a dentistry there because I have a friend that works there. I just got a call from the vet at the latter clinic, and he said that the level of concern was not as grave as the notes from Dr Bonder and that NO teeth were loose (none ended up getting extracted). Feel free to go to this clinic to get ripped off
13 July 2022 19:43
Outrageously expensive. I was quoted over $500 to euthanize my senior cat. In my opinion, this predatory pricing designed to exploit our grief. I've been going to this vet for years and I have always found them to be quite overpriced but this absolutely over the top.

If you need to say goodbye to your furry family member, go to the TORONTO HUMANE SOCIETY. The staff there is compassionate and respectful. The doctor stayed late for us, gave us a lovely private room and let us take our time saying goodbye. The cost was $180 including the sedation and cremation. It was the best experience for the worst decision I've ever had to make.

For anyone who is low-income and can't afford to pay the astronomical price to have ashes returned; I suggest collecting cat hair from around the house (from a vaccum or cat brush) and burning it yourself so that you have something to keep. Nobody should be denied a keepsake of a loved one because of artificially inflated prices.
13 May 2022 14:59
Receptionist is rude. She put me on hold a few times, gave me answers to questions I didn’t even ask instead of listening to my concerns. I asked her for a breakdown of the $450 cost of neutering and her response was I don’t know what other clinics are charging but that’s our fee? !? Not to mention she said she was gonna call me back.didn’t hear from her. I’m not even a client and my first interaction with this company was just awful. I would never bring my cat here. Level of care and concern is at ZERO.
02 May 2022 3:47
I highly recommend this clinic for anyone with a cat! My cat had been suffering from potential a urinary tract blockage and they got him in for a same-day appointment and he was assessed within 45 minutes of being there. Dr. Kennedy and the staff are all incredibly kind and give thorough explanations of the examination findings and treatment plans. The staff were also very transparent with the billing process and went through my entire bill with me item by item so I knew the exact costs of everything. Definitely a great place to bring your cat.

After realizing that my cat was potentially ill, after not eating for several days, and then starting to throw up, I had to call a number of places to find out their last minute emergency availability. After calling a few nearby places, I got ahold of the Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic and was pleased that they were taking new patients and had time to see my cat the same day!

They were friendly, welcoming, accommodating, and so patient with all of my questions and concerns. It was an emotional journey for me, and they made me feel comforted about the situation. My cat stayed there for a few days and overnight to get treatment and seemed like she was treated well. She got to come home and has been better ever since!

Even when I got home, I had a lot of questions and the clinic was so patient and kind with me over email and on the phone and got all my questions answered. I can tell the staff really care about their clients and kitty patients.

I was also pleased to take my cat to a cat only clinic, which reduces their stress of going to the vet, by not having dogs around.

I had such an overall pleasant experience with Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Bonder and their whole team and will consider continuing to come back for future visits!

The Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic is an amazing place that basically saved our cat's life! At our previous vet, we were told that our only option to treat him was humane euthanization after we received some really horrible blood work results for him. While we could tell he was definitely pretty sick, the sole recommendation we were getting just wasn't jiving. We sought out a second opinion from Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic. Now, more than 6 weeks later, our little guy is receiving amazing care for his conditions and he's thriving! Regaining weight, he's alert, attentive, and getting back to his normal self as each day passes. I highly recommend them.
06 October 2021 22:06
I went here thinking my cat had a bladder problem as he struggled to go to the bathroom and I booked an appointment here to have him looked at, unfortunately he had a cancerous mass and had to be euthanized. I was grateful that they were able find what was wrong with him and recommended this as I had him for almost 14 years. I was in tremendous shock finding this out and they allowed me to have one last moment with my cat. I got to sit with him in a room for over an hour even after they closed and the whole time he was just purring as I was able to rub his face and pet him, and that's exactly how I wanted to remember my cat purring like he always did

I am so happy that my cat Oscar has been so well cared for by  the Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic. I want to thank them very much for their wonderful care of
Oscar when he was in hospital from Friday to Tuesday with a bladder infection. I really appreciate all the time and attention that they gave him during that period of time. It was especially stressful for me living out of the country, and I am so grateful for the calls that they took between both myself, and my family in Toronto. I was an extremely worried cat parent for awhile and I really felt reassured whenever I called to ask for an update on his condition.
My family let me know that they also provided
Oscar with his own room where he could run around. I was really touched that they went the extra mile for him and did something like that to make him more comfortable. The round of applause after a successful use of the litter box was a very sweet story. I cannot express how incredibly happy I have been with Dr. Bonder's services that her clinic provides, How well Oscar has responded to his healthcare, and how pleasant and accommodating all the staff have been when Oscar
and I have visited. Now I'm certainly even more impressed and thankful, which I didn't think was possible! Oscar is very comfortable at home and happy to be there. He's been successfully using his litter box with no difficulties since he came home. We're all very pleased to have him back to normal being his crazy little self.
I highly recommend this clinic to any cat owners who want the best veterinary care for their cat.
02 February 2021 14:52
There aren’t enough good things I could say about Dr. Bonder and her team. They are always so kind and patient. We’re very grateful for their hard work especially during Covid. Also, the cost of service is very reasonable.
21 January 2021 14:12
Rue and Olive love going to the vet! (Or maybe they don’t, I do not speak cat) but they are always themselves when they come back home, so I know they get the best treatment and care!

Thank you and merry Christmas to Dr. Bonder and all the staff at the downtown cat clinic!
17 January 2021 7:12
Going to the vet is a stressful business for every cat but how much better the experience is at the Downtown Cat Clinic where the clientele is exclusively feline! Dr. Bondar and her team are very friendly, professional and caring.
I am happy to recommend Downtown Cat Clinic to my friends.
11 January 2021 10:17
I brought my cat sweet pea here for the first time. I told them it was my first time bringing him to a cat clinic in a long time, so they were aware that he needed to be checked for everything. Prior to the visit I was aware her had an issue with his ear. After I picked him up and brought him home, I noticed that he still had the issue and they didn’t tell me about it. I researched what is possibly could be, and found out he had ear mites. I called and asked about what the examination entails, and they told me that it’s a head to toe exam, (includes ear checks). So I told them about his ears and explained the situation to them and they told me that it’s most likely ear mites. So I told I’d like to book an appointment to get a solution for his infection. I brought swear pea to the clinic the same week, and when I went to pick him up they told me that I was forced to pay another exam fee, and was adding on all these new problems he was having that they weren’t able to see earlier that week. They were also talking about booking another appointment after this one. I didn’t find this clinic cat friendly, felt like I was being ran for my money. When I told them how I felt, without finding a solution to make me happy coming to the clinic, they told me that they would rather me go to another clinic. They seemed uninterested in finding out if sweet pea was healthy, and more towards booking me more appointments for him to have to keep coming back. He doesn’t like going to the clinic, I had to give him calming medicine. So for me to feel this way I wouldn’t recommend this clinic, they seemed to have good service but I wasn’t pleased with how they made sweat pea feel. Wouldn’t recommend this clinic.

We had a great experience with Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic! The whole team is very accommodating, professional, and kind. Our cat hasn't been to the vet for a few years and they were completely nonjudgmental and made sure he was comfortable- he wasn't even phased when he came home! Even with the COVID measures in place they are able to be communicative and make sure you ok the procedures and pricing before they go ahead with anything. Glad we found the right vet for us!
14 December 2020 17:47
Took my kitten there because their name sound profissional. But they aren’t. They push drugs and test that are not necessarily to just add extra charge.crazy over price #avoid
30 November 2020 18:27
Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic has been looking after my little boy Siren for about a year now and I find the service absolutely amazing. They are just so great with cats plus it's helpful that they are a cat only clinic which makes Siren's vet trip a lot less stressful

Great vet clinic. Dr Bonder and her team are all wonderful to deal with. I would highly recommend

My cat needed 4 teeth extracted and There couldn’t have been a better clinic to take him than the DTT Cat Clinic. The team is so kind and patient, and Dr. Bonder is exceptional with her knowledge and skills. Everyone knows what they’re doing and it really helps to ease the anxiety.
I understand the idea of any pet going through surgery is scary, and sometimes seems questionable. Like does my cat really need this? He seems fine, is it worth putting him through surgery? The answer is YES, always yes! I myself have asked those questions and I can confidently say after DTT Cat Clinic performed the Tooth Extract surgery perfectly, my cat’s personality has now blossomed in ways I didn’t know could be. His coat and appearance is shiny & beautiful, his personality is off the charts with confidence and his hygiene? Impeccable.
Our littles ones are resilient and the recovery is super quick and easy! This clinic will answer any and all the questions or concerns you have.
Their team is more than qualified and has the experience, not to mention they have cats themselves.
Guys, please trust the process. If they offer your cat medication to take home, take it. Trust them in the sense that you don’t think they’re trying to throw unnecessary prescription because THAT IS NOT/ NEVER THE CASE. We can often fall ignorant when it comes to the subject of money and costs but start saving your money now and it will definitely help ease a lot of the stress.
And Is it worth taking your precious baby to an all-cat clinic? Yes, especially if it’s Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic.
1000/1000 would recommend to anyone looking for a clinic to bring their cat to, but especially for your cat’s teeth extraction/ health checked out.

I love this place. They take care of my little cat exquisitely. The wee man we had before her they took care of him exquisitely as well. I highly recommend the DTCC. They are loving cat whisperers.

We have been a loyal customer since 2013. Two years ago we have moved to another city and the commute was a bit long for our cat. Besides professional, kind care and exact results we have not experience anything else. Our appointments never were late or cancelled, staff members are very professional, simple follow up was really helpful after every single appointment. It kept us on track as well.
Doctor Melanie is amazing. Prices were the same since 2013. Honestly, for the location and professionalism the cost of appointments and treatments are way cheaper than in most pet clinics.
If we ever return to Toronto, we will be back to the same clinic. Thank you for all the years of care and support to our favourite cat. All the best.
29 February 2020 19:32
Our cat Darty cannot be spayed due to a severe birth deficit. Every single clinic we called before Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic tried to sell us the idea of either having the cat spayed (cannot be done, Darty cannot be operated on without accepting a 98% chance of death), or telling us the need to examine the cat first. Our regular clinic couldn't reach the owner and ask for the medicine (?) for 3 days.

Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic was the first place to actually think about a solution over the phone first rather than to try and sell me a doc visit or a surgery. They understood my pain. Then they offered potential solutions. Then we ended up there and had Darty checked and got some calming medicine. We knew from the very beginning that we needed to pay the doc a visit, but it was important to see that the vet cared for a solution before trying to book an appointment. When we were there, we actually talked about a more permanent solution and the possibilities, etc. I literally had phone calls before this clinic where I had to explain a doc how a synthetic progesterone works. I am a marketing person, mind you, not a vet. Doc.

Thank you. From now on, the clinic is on our top list for our feline needs. If they can find the injection we are looking for, I will bring all my cats here from now on till the bitter end, and be forever grateful.
02 February 2020 12:14
Have taken my cat here since i moved to Toronto 5 years ago. Excellent care, doctors are very kind. All surgeries have been done with great care and attention to detail. They know their stuff here, and it’s cats only!

Well I had one of the hardest but most beautiful experiences at this vet. Lastnight my cat gave birth to 5 beautiful kittens. A freak accident resulted in them actually being tangled in mamas tail. (Limbs, cords, etc) anyways this morning I had no idea what to do I and mama were in total distress. I called here and they fit me in ASAP. Unfortunately two kittens didn’t make it. But it could of very easily bin more. With the heart and love and determination of not only the doctor but the receptionist and vet tech they were able to save two! It was heartbreaking and horrible but without them none would of made it. To top it all of the love and support and help I got from them is unexplainable! It wasn’t just a “job” for them. Every inch of they’re hearts were in this procedure. I called reception about ten times this morning scared and freaked out and she was so soothing and sweet and helpful with every call. I’ve lived all over Canada. I’ve traveled a lot. I’ve always had pets. I can say hands down this was one of the most remarkable vet clinics I’ve dealt with. And they’re prices! I thought for sure I’d be up around 2000$ and I was well below 1000$. These people will always hold a special place in my heart for what they accomplished, what they dealt with and how kind they were to me thro the process. Anyone anywhere looking for a vet for they’re kitty please go to them. The heart they have makes everything worth it. Thanks again guys for being my angels and savings my kitty and her 3 babies! I will never
Forget this!

Dr. Bonder has been my cat’s vet since I adopted him a few years ago. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Bonder, and all of her vet technicians. They are thankless heroes who dedicate a high level of care and compassion to each of their cat patients and pet owners.

When my own cat was in severe distress, Dr. Bonder and her staff saved his life. They performed emergency surgery, took care of him, took time to address my concerns and worries, and even allowed me to visit my cat every day.

It was clear to me that she and all of her staff went well above and beyond to resolve what was ailing my kitty, including conducting extra research and liaising with other specialists to ensure that my cat was being properly treated. Every person there is professional, kind, and compassionate, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic.

I've been bringing my cats to the DTCC for 3 years (since they were kittens) and have always had very positive experiences. Dr. Bonder and her staff are very helpful and friendly:)

The staff and Dr Bonder are very attentive and spent a lot of time with me for all my questions. The price is also very fair for their services and items.
17 April 2019 2:31
I took my cat for an appointment as well as dental cleaning for the first time and had an amazing experience. What really struck me as outstanding is the post appointment/procedure follow-up. The level of communication and feedback directly from the doctor was excellent and I felt she was in great hands. I will be returning for sure and I highly recommend Dr. Bonder.
27 February 2019 19:21
Love taking our two cats to Dr. Bonder and her team at this Cat Only Clinic. Vet visits are never 100% stress free, but our little boys love exploring and cuddling when there, and the cat only environment really makes everyone more comfortable.
Prices are pretty in line with all vets I've been to, especially in Downtown Toronto.
24 January 2019 16:02
I would absolutely recommend this clinic! They promptly and professionally responded to my cat's emergency health issue. They assessed and began to treat him all within an hour of me taking him there, were very transparent and upfront about the billing/charges and called me after the surgery was completed, as well as the next morning and later on the next day! I was also very impressed by their support upon taking my cat home, including giving me clear instructions and follow-up support. The atmosphere was friendly and professional and I could tell they truly cared about my cat's well-being. 5/5!
30 December 2018 7:30
This morning was my first time at this clinic. Very welcoming environment, staff and Dr. Bonder are all wonderful and very helpful. Great prices for the services provided, the most relaxed I have ever seen my cat at the vet! I am very happy with the care I received this morning.
