I brought my female dog in for an emergency on December 24 at 2 am, at the outset they told me that they would charge me $200 for the visit without even examining my dog ​​properly. My dog ​​was in labor and had been having contractions for 7 hours (I had taken her to another veterinarian and after 3 hours they never treated me) initially they offered me 3 options:
1st: pay the $200 visit and wait at home for my dog have her puppies and if it didn't work, bring her the next morning.
2nd: perform surgery (cesarean section) immediately for $5,400 tax included + one night hospitalization.
3rd: leave her hospitalized so they could help her have her puppies at the clinic for $1800 and if it didn't work she would have to perform the surgery (cesarean section) for + $5400 tax included. I finally made the decision to perform the surgery for $5,400 tax included (I didn't want to make my dog ​​suffer longer).
My dog ​​had 4 puppies and only 2 survived. (one of the puppies that died had malformations and was too big to be born naturally) I arrived to see my dog ​​at 9 am and the doctor sent me off with the dog and puppies quickly without many recommendations other than antibiotics.
The next day my dog ​​started to have a fever, the puppies were fine, I took her again to this clinic (if that's what you can call it) and without even examining her she immediately said that it was due to lack of calcium, the doctor gave her subcutaneous serum and he gave me a bottle of calcium all cost $190 on this visit. Once again at home my dog ​​was getting worse and I saw no improvement, I took her to the clinic again in the night December 25 and left her hospitalized for two nights along with her puppies for $1900. The first night passed and the next day I went to visit her and I found one of the puppies dying (the reason the doctor gave was that the dog was not drinking milk from the mother) and my dog ​​was weaker although the fever was decreasing However, it was not channeled by intravenous and had no oxygen supply (when is hospitalized, it must be provided with oxygen and intravenous serum and even more so if it has just come out of a cesarean section) I decided to take the puppy to home the one was dying and I took care of him on my own so he improved by giving him food through a tube directly into his stomach (the reason he was not drinking milk from the mover is because he had cleft palate. The next day I went to see my dog ​​again and she no longer had a fever but she had white gums and tongue, very weak and unable to move, she could barely stand up. Added to that, my dog ​​got mastitis and they gave me an antibiotic for the mastitis, however, when I asked about the times in which they gave her food and medications, I did not get a clear and concise answer from the staff or the doctors. I finally left the vet with my dog ​​and puppy and took them home along with the other puppy at 9: 30 pm Unfortunately, my dog ​​died on December 28 at 2 am and the other puppy that was being fed by direct life died at 5 am. I think that if my dog ​​had received THE NECESSARY ATTENTION AND FOR WHICH I PAID, SHE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED, but unfortunately these people ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY AND PLAY WITH PEOPLE'S WORRY AND ANXIETY TO MAKE MONEY. They don't care about the animals, Mr. Kafai cares for all the animals with eagerness and without any type of empathy. If you love your pet, take it somewhere else.here in Canada it is very difficult to find a veterinarian who truly cares more about animals than money.

My cat had been attacked by a dog and she was severely injured. I took my cat to this pet clinic; the receptionist was very rude and short with me. Don’t bother asking questions, their office doesn’t like answering. Over the telephone the receptionist quoted me $200 for an initial exam, then approaches me with a $1,168.00 bill for absolutely NOTHING. I reminded her that she quoted me $200 for an exam. She denied it and then said that the x-ray and sedation was *extra*… what the hell? How are you suppose to examine any animal just by looking at it alone? I would have thought that the x-ray and sedation would have been included with the $200, but as they were setting all this up, not once did the Doctor or the receptionist stop to inform me of the price increase. They know you are suffering and anxious about your pet so they will fill their pockets as much as possible. I paid almost $500 for them to do absolutely nothing. Waste of time and money.

I discovered Dr. Kafai Veterinary Hospital -24/7 when my maltipoo was experiencing symptons of black poop and black vomit over the weekend.
I brought my fur baby Zoey last Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised on how quickly they were able to accommodate us.
Dr. Mir was amazing! Very pleasant and empathetic. He took his time to listen and answered all of my questions. She was so sick, I thought I was going to put her down, and Dr. Mir took the time to explain other options before I needed to make that decision. He was so caring and compassionate. He made her medical care seamless by giving me options with consideration to my financial situation.
A week later, we made another appointment for follow up. His treatment plan worked! He was so humble when I told him what a great vet he was given that Zoey was now on her way to recovery. I am grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Dr. Mir and his assistant. Very kind human beings.
And a special thank you to Avin at the front desk- She was so sweet and pleasant. She made it a point to come around from her desk to welcome Zoey. Nice touch.

Amazing staff that really cater to your pet. Dr. Mir took his time to explain what I needed for my car and what exactly his doing to my pet on every step. He is patient and most of all caring. Would recommend this clinic to anyone looking to either switch or looking for a new Vet.

It's time that government step in and stop on this ridiculous robbery that veterinarian do in this country. A simple visit shounot be 200$.

I don't live very close and have a pet that is considered exotic, so I made a phone call to double check that they take small pets. The person who answered the phone immediately said yes. However when I asked if they offer any type of payment plans or if I'd have to pay in full (incase it's more costly and quotes get changed in these review's), the tone automatically changed and I was told "no, we don't see your pet". After literally just being told they take them. I tried having the benefit of the doubt so that I don't have to travel further but I see why people say this place is just about the money.

It says 24 hours, but it's a lie!

Dr. Kafai and his staff are great! They dealt with my dogs issue instantly, he gave us the pros and cons for the surgery. The staff are very nice and caring. They make you feel very relaxed.

I Highly recommend this place. Dr Kafai is nice and his exams are thorough. My dog was bleeding from her mouth, he assured me and made me feel at ease. I appreciated his staff and the service they provided.

Dr seem annoyed and unfriendly. I was there couple of times and both of them I didn’t like the vibe at all. It feels like i am asking for a favour; I felt uncomfortable.
At first I thought it might be bad day or whatever but the second time it was the same communication style.

Good variety of pet food but reception has 0 knowledge about their products.

So costly clinic. They don’t give you other options to save money. We took our dog afternoon and they said she has to stay in to do Ultrasound early morning day after which was costly then day after we have been told our dog can not live anymore.

Our dog was not properly diagnosed and well treated. We took him to another hospital and accept an EMERGENCY surgery right after

Dr Kafai is a great veterinarian and a consummate professional. Our dog, who is not the friendliest of dogs, took to him right away. His calm and friendly demeanour and extensive knowledge base helped us address and fix an issue that severely jeopardize our dogs’ health. Very grateful for his services! Highly recommend!

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! We took our dog (with congestive heart failure) into this clinic at 2am because her breathing was rapid and coughing was extensive. Dr. Kafai gave her a shot of liquid lasix and sent her on her way. After seeing no change in the next couple hours we rushed her back to the "24/7" clinic (as it's advertised) as she was still having trouble breathing. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE! Lights were on, a dog was barking inside the window and no one to be found. No answer on the phone either. We rushed her to another 24h clinic where they IMMEDIATELY put her on oxygen and IV. Absolutely horrible experience. Highly recommend you take your pets elsewhere!

This is an amazing Veterinary hospital! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kafai. He was absolutely amazing with my dog, she was very anxious and he was extremely thorough, and compassionate with her during the examination. He put my mind at ease by explaining everything to me. All the staff here are very nice and compassionate. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kafai’s Veterinary Hospital.

My experience:
My puppy passed away at home late night on a Sunday. My vet was not opened so I called Dr. Kafai Veterinary Hospital and right away he picked up. I was really emotionally unstable and lost but he kept me on track with simple questions and told me to head over right away.
Unfortunately when I got there we just confirmed that she has left us.
He gave me my privacy when I had to mourn for my pet. He gave me tissue when I cried. He offered the after services and everything was done with care.
I called back at nearly midnight when I was a bit more stable and he still picked up
Thank you for being there for us.

End of Life Care.
When it became apparent that our dog was in pain and would no longer have a good quality of life, Dr Kafai helped to ease our loyal pet's suffering in a very humane and respectful way. Dr Kafai came to our home (outside) and once the family had had time with our dog, Dr Kafai administered the medication. Once the procedure was complete, he then took away the body for cremation. The remains were returned to us a week or two later in a nice wooden box with the name engraved. (It has been removed in the below pic) We appreciated Dr. Kafai's expertise and experience during this time when the decisions were so difficult.

They were thorough and competent. But the demeanor of both vets was very cold. No warmth and compassion. Which in my opinion is essential in having a positive experience when visiting the vet.

Our 9 year old presa canario female needed surgery immediately, and Dr. Kafai not only took her the same day, but he did such an amazing job. We had an even healthier version of our girl back once it was over and she was home.
We are so happy with his services, and very grateful that we were able to be seen since she was in a lot of pain.

Terrible and very rude just a phone call to figure out if this was going to be the place I go to with my dog turned into me getting yelled at and told rudely they were busy I have never experienced something like this!

I've been coming to this vet for a couple of years and now I will NOT be coming here. I spoke to the most unprofessional, rude from the beginning, and disgusting receptionist today. I asked her politely to transfer my dogs prescription (who is in pain) and she was not willing to do anything for me. Keep in mind, I have moved out of the area so coming down to pick up medication is a hassle.

She was not willing to do her job, or transfer me to the doctor. She had attitude right away, and even hung up on my boyfriend. VERY IMMATURE. This job is about caring for animals! Now my dog has to suffer just because you don't want to transfer my prescription just so you can pocket the $40? Dr. Kafai is awesome but this new staff needs to go or your patients will. I hope she fixes her miserable life cause clearly she needs some therapy.

It’s New Year’s Day. Holiday time. A time where vets could completely ask for huge money. Dr Kafai didn’t yesterday when I called he gave advice on my dog wincing in pain. He said let him rest. If he isn’t better tomorrow bring him.

We brought him in today. Examined the dog explained what he found. Gave a diagnosis without saying I have to do CT scan or X-ray. He said this is what I think here is the remedy and if it gets worse we will look further.

What I’m saying is he could have asked for more money he didn’t. Very reasonable price,

I had an amazing experience with both Dr. Kafai and Dr. Mir, definitely the best pet hospital I’ve been to. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, Dr. Kafai very professional and definitely knew what he was doing and seemed like he genuinely cared about the animals.
He did a great job making my puppy feel comfortable and calm.

We had a really traumatic and upsetting experience with the unprofessional staff and dr here today (Kafai), now after reviewing all the reviews, I’m horrified & have no idea how this place is still allowed to remain open.

Pet owners beware, read the reviews first and make an informed decision - Im positive after reading all the 1star reviews and ignoring the fake ones from their own staff members (like the receptionist Roza), you will not only avoid this place but you will stay as far away as humanly possible! Good luck on your search to find a good vet. This is not the one.

We love the vet and so does our puppy, which is the most important part. Dr. Kafai is very gentle and caring. He always tries to do what is best for our dog and not once did he try to talk us into unnecessary things. We are a lower income family and Dr. Kafai is very understanding and helpful.

My puppy fractured in the midnight and we find Dr Kafai, with his help my puppy recovers very well!

Last Sunday morning Aug 14 our cat Pablo suffered a blod clot and could not walk. DR. KAFAI was our closest and best bet as he answered the phone and was open and that was critical because it was very scary. Pablo was in alot of pain. We got him to the Dr quickly and he assessed the situation with us in 15 minutes and helped us through it all.
Pablo stayed overnight in good accommodations and I visited him as well. The Dr called us in the am after blood works and ultra sound and we found Pablo walking and in good spirits however tired he may have been.
There is hope now and everyday with Pablo is a blessing. He has Heart disease at the age of 2 but is on medication.
Dr Kafai was great. It's weird because me and my wife read the reviews after we dropped him off and were dismayed because we had a very good experience.
We started reflecting on Dr Kafai's speed and saying maybe we read it wrong.
Anyways, I can see how the Dr's no nonsense direct approach may be offensive to some but for us it was terrific because he was clear and professional and we could tell he knew his stuff and at every moment with Pablo and even 1 week after he has followed up and exceeded anything we have ever recieved from any veterinarian we have ever dealt with.
Speed and wisdom matters and Pablo was well served. The accommodations treatment and follow through have been second to none.

Great first experience. The vet was calm, he called my dog a gentleman and my dog is far from that (lol, I still love him) and it was for an emergency service. It was affordable and the vet was so good and gentle with my little guy!

In my opinion, Kefayi only does business until he wants to be treated. After a year of not being able to diagnose a simple tooth fracture, my cat's condition worsened so much that I changed my doctor and now I have to make a correct diagnosis because of Mr. Kefayi who did not want to. Let me do some surgery and a lot of money for my cat. I was wrong to accept kafayi as a doctor, you do not repeat my mistake.

Dr. Kafai is extremely rude! Terrible bedside manner! I am a paying customer and he yells at me over the phone when I enquire how my dog is doing! He doesn’t want to deal with me and asks that I pick up my dog. Please DON’T go to this Vet!

My puppy of 6 months was seen by Dr. Mir Habib. He was very patient and thorough in his diagnosis and gave proper relief for the bee sting my puppy got. Not only did he assist my dog and she was back to her happy self during our car ride home afterwards, but he also gave me as the customer comfort and peace of mind knowing my baby was properly taken care of and it showed from the results. My dog Charlie threw up his dinner and was very lethargic, so we took him to Dr Kafai (who is open 24h, while our own vet closed their office at 7pm). For some reason, the minute we pulled into the parking lot, Charlie suddenly regained all his energy and appeared to be totally fine. We walked into the clinic anyway to see if Dr Kafai would look at him. When the doctor came out to check Charlie out, he said Charlie looked fine and he didn’t want to take our money. We appreciated that he was honest, as he could’ve easily taken our dog to “run some tests” and charge us the emergency fee. So we got a good first impression of dr Kafai despite only being there for under 6 minutes. I will be taking my dog to Dr Kafai if there is ever an emergency

Dr. Kafai was very PROFESSIONAL and sympathetic. The cat we take care of for a month suddenly became lethargic and after 4-5 days of treatment she got better. Thank you Dr, Kafai.

Very easy to book an appointment. When we came in, we didn't wait at all. Our kitty had something with her paw, so the vet approached her very carefully, investigated thoroughly all the joints and muscles tissue, made her walk to see where exactly it was bothering her. Everything was super fast, professional and with lots of care.

Dr. Mir Habib lacks the people skills necessary to communicate respectfully with his customers. 1 star for poor performance and having absolutely no integrity.

I called just recently (not even 15 min ago) for my 5 month old puppy. As I was explaining to the man on the other end, that my dog had eaten foundation, he first said "What? " then when I explained what it was, he hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional & rude. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Saw your comment now what do you expect other than agreeing your bill when my dog is in critical condition, you guys are taking advantage of situation, and even for 480 you charged we holded our dog for you to take blood what are we your staff members?
And top of it you recommended a brain doctor which is again your friend and same family doctor for a bill of 1800 bucks, this is Canada humanity is still left here please behave responsibly.

This animal hospital was the most pleasant and best experience in my life i had with veteranian hospitals. Super frieny, clean. You could eat off the floor. My little dog had very bad stage 4 gingivitis and i only had 500 dollars. He was so honest and kind. He said im not goung to charge you for visit or give you meds as its a waste as eve tually he will have to have surgeru. Surgery being 1400. I went to my car with my best friend champ wbos 8 and i felt helpless. Vet said he was in pain so i thought ill have to euthanize him because he wint let me make payments. Talked to friend in nl long story sbort we got the money togetber. Champ succesfully had his surgery. I would not go anywhere else. Dr Mafai is everbit informative, professional, empathetic and a really great vet as well as his staff. Ty for saving my baby doc

I cannot thank enough to this doctor and staff, for saving my dogs life and taking fantastic care of her. My Umi had stones in her bladder, she needed an emergency surgery, I’m so grateful I have found a doctor that truly cares about animals, who is so knowledgeable and such a professional at what he does. I feel like it’s so hard to find a vet that you trust, and I’m blessed I have found one for my darling dog. If your looking for a reliable, professional, knowledgeable, kind and caring doctor, don’t look elsewhere. Also this clinic is 24/7, very fast service! I’m just so grateful! God bless!

Save your love ones and avoid this clinic.
He injected a big serum under my dog’s skin, she is still bruise after 3 months which I realized yesterday after she got hair cut.
I didn’t have any other choice that night, this clinic was the only option nearby.
Also another clinic did the same blood test with half a price.

Edit: You are right, you mentioned it was 7 months ago, and you made it worst.she still having skin danage after 7 months. Yesterday I visited vet about the bruies, he mentioned that it is completely related to the injection.
I was hoping for more satisfying replay not defensive reply.

I had brought my 10 month puppy here for boarding - I had to make a quick trip to the states for a family emerg. I was so disappointed when I came back to pick up my pup - she smelled like pee, and poo. She was shaking and was so relieved to see me. Her name tag was rusted - they had told me that they walked her 2 times a day and gave her 2 bathes during her week stay. I do not believe that AT ALL. I do not recommend anyone to come here and leave their pets in the care of Dr. Kafka and his staff. Truly disappointed and upset with the state of trauma my pup was in when we picked her up.

Excellent vet, no upsells like other vets. Very honest and accurate diagnosis. Highly recommended. Price was cheaper than my regular vet. Called to check afterward. Excellent service!

Excellent customer service! Did not feel pressured or guilt tripped and had all my options explained to me by dr.mir. The prices seemed reasonable and the vet was very friendly and informative. No wait time, might have been luck but everywhere else was 4-6 hours. Hopefully I never need to but I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Dr. Kafai and Dr. Mir did a great job as professional vets! I would give this clinic 10 stars if it is available for the reasons below.

1 Star for them, scamming customers by worsening their loved ones' situation.
1 Star for them, being rude and condescending as vets to pet parents who were looking for help from them with an anxious heart.
1 Star for them, having the most horrifying and disorganized service as a clinic.
1 Star for them, treating customers discriminately depends on the $ amount spent in the clinic.
The last star I would give them for catching the eyes of anyone who may have a chance to see this review and seriously rethink about whether to put your loved one's life on their hands.

Be honest about the services you provide and mean what you say. When you schedule an appointment stick to it, if it needs to be changed communicate with your customer. Teach the techs at the front of the office to be honest and more respectful. Don't waste people's time. Please be better. I am happy I know the poor quality of service now so that I don't go back if my dog has a real emergency.
