I recently underwent a tummy tuck procedure performed by Dr. Shortt, and I cannot express how thrilled I am with the results. From start to finish, my experience with Dr. Shortt and his team at Briarwood GraceMed was nothing short of exceptional.

First and foremost, Dr. Shortt exhibited a level of professionalism and expertise that immediately put me at ease. During the initial consultation, he took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, answer all of my questions, and address any concerns I had, which reassured me. Especially since my situation was tricky because I have a medical history with SVT, a heart condition. He made sure to stay in contact with my heart specialist and the anesthesiologist to find the safest way for the procedure to be performed.

On the day of the surgery, the entire team at GraceMed made me feel comfortable and well-cared for. The facility was clean and well-maintained, and the staff members were compassionate and attentive. Dr. Shortt and his surgical team demonstrated exceptional skill and precision throughout the procedure. He had all the equipment needed if I potentially suffered from an SVT episode during the surgery.

As I recovered, Dr. Shortt continued to provide outstanding support and follow-up care. He made himself available to address any post-operative concerns and ensured my healing process was on track. His dedication to his patient’s well-being was truly remarkable.

Where do I begin…
My whole life I’ve lived with a very severe case of breast asymmetry. Growing up wasn’t an easy thing for me to say the least.
At 16 my mother brought me to a local plastic surgeon that had traumatized me, so I never pursued anything further due to the humiliation and shame.
Finally, as a women approaching 50… I looked into getting something done…

I’ve done other procedures in the past and nothing has come even somewhat close to my amazing experience with Dr Rodger Shortt and his staff. From my first consult to the surgery day and my post-op appointments, they have been just a pleasure to work with. I am so happy I found Dr Shortt and I am over the moon about my results. I have struggled with loose skin on my belly for a long time. I lost a lot of weight when I was younger, then add 2 children to the mix and it got even worse. I tried everything until I realized a TT was my only option. I went around and did a lot of research and I met with a few other doctors until I made my decision and like I said earlier int his review no doctor came close to how Dr Shortt made me feel. He is so patient, took the time to go over every single detail. I didn't feel rushed at all in my consult. He was very honest about what procedure I needed (I originally went in thinking I needed liposuction). I walked out of the consult and within a few days I called back to book my surgery day, I felt so confident with him and his work.
Bed side manner is 10/10. All the staff that was in the operating room (Nurses and anesthesiologist) were beyond amazing. One of the nurses held my hand just before I went under the anesthetic. They made me feel so comforted and confident that they would be taking great care of me during the procedure. The post-op care nurse was also so amazing.

Joanne, Dr Shortt’s assistant, was just a pleasure to also work with. She is also so incredibly patient and truly cares! I must have emailed over a dozen times but at no point did she make me feel like I was too much. She was there for me every question I asked and her turn around time to all my emails were so quick! She always answered all my questions. She provided me with all the guidance needed before going to my procedure and all the information needed to make sure I was ready for the big day.

The results: I am now 3 months post-op and I couldn't be happier with my results. I knew that Dr Shortt was the best and the results are only getting better and better each week. I was most scared about how my belly button would turn out, but he really takes belly button business seriously! LOL! He took extra time to make sure it was perfect and his results really speak for themselves. My TT incision is really low as it should be and with his post-op care guidance, it is healing really really well. I have a new found confidence thanks to his amazing work!

I really cannot say enough about Dr Rodger Shortt, Joanne and his entire staff. If I can give them 100 stars, they deserve that! If you are on the fence about any treatment, visit Dr Shortt and he will give you the honest truth and make you feel so great about it too! You are in good hands with him and his staff!

Dr. Shortt is the most amazing surgeon I have ever met. He had to remove skin cancer from just below my left eye and you can hardly see the scar. He has a way of making you feel at ease when you’re really nervous. I have seen him for 2 procedures and many appointments and I can’t say how much I appreciate him and his staff. The ladies are all so nice. I would recommend him 100%.

I saw Dr Short to look at a mole and a cyst. He was friendly and professional and left the smallest incision that healed perfectly. I recommend Dr Shortt for anything - he’ll give you honest advice and take good care of you.

I did quite a bit of research into breast fat transfers and I'm so glad that I asked for Dr. Shortt. He is very experienced in fat grafting and my experience so far has been amazing!

If anyone else is thinking about Breast Fat Transfers, I would highly recommend Dr. Shortt.
What you can expect is that:
- There may be a long wait time before the initial consultation (3-4 years), but ask to be on the cancellation list. I was very fortunate to get an appointment in less than a year. After that, I was able to book a surgery date within 3 months.
- I was well taken care of. The nurse contacted me for pre-op instructions, blood work/ECG, and measurements for the compression garments (worn for at least 6 weeks post-op)
- Breast fat retention differs from person to person. After the first procedure, I went from less than an A cup to a more full A cup at the 3 month mark. It was very easy to discuss with Dr. Shortt about a second procedure at one of the post-op appointments. Dr. Shortt always appreciated my well-being first and I had no seromas or cysts. It was a short period of time to book a second surgery date as well (within 1 year, could be longer if desired).
- Massage therapy was recommended one week post-op. My massage therapist said that Dr. Shortt's liposuction work was some of the best that they had seen. The position of the puncture sites for the fat retrieval were perfectly placed to not impede my lymphatic drainage and healing. My massage therapist said that they've seen procedures from other physicians in and outside of Canada that had poorer healing in comparison. (I also recommend massage therapy for the fat retrieval sites - my bit of bruising went away very quickly!)
- It was easy to connect with a nurse if I had any post-op questions and to ask Dr. Shortt any questions at the post-op visit.

I hope that is helpful for anyone thinking about fat transfer.

Overall, highly highly recommend Dr. Shortt for this procedure!

I just had a breast reduction done by Dr. Shortt. Before my surgery I was 36DD and I am only 56 kg so it was extremly big and heavy and uncomfortable and I hated them.
Dr Shortt had a long waiting time due to covid restrictions but it was just worth the wait.
He explained every step about the surgery, he answered all my questions, he is veey proffesional and friendly at the same time.
After my surgery he has seen me 3 times for post op check up and my experience with him and his team is just wonderfull and also I love my new breasts, not that they are not that heavy amymore, but also my selfesteem has improved bcs my new breast look very good)
