Dr. Sheila Thakkar

Writing a review a couple years later with hopes to become her patient again in the very near future. Dr. Thakkar took good care of me and made sure baby was okay through out my pregnancy. Dr. Thakkar always took her time answer all of my questions and made me feel safe. It felt like I was talking to a close friend whenever I had an appt. When scheduling my induction she said why don't we schedule you on the day that Im working. I agreed in hopes that she would be the one delivering my baby, she in fact did. She talked me through the process while getting baby out and delivered her safely. I have and always will share high regards for Dr. Thakkar. I hope to see you soon:)!

This is one of the worst doctors let alone OBGYNs. There are many things I can say here that have come to light however, I don't want to be responsible for her losing her medical license. This will likely happen in due time because there's a pattern with this person. STAY FAR AWAY. Patient confidentiality is not important to her. If you are unvaccinated against COVID-19, expect to be treated differently. Also, she has caused damage to babies during the delivery process. There's a dirty laundry list that is coming to light now. STAY AWAY. I cannot stress this enough. Worst of all, she has ZERO empathy. Zero. There's something actually wrong with this person. Not sure what it is but it's certainly evil. Her actions have proven that. Again, STAY AWAY. There are plenty of happy, successful and better-suited OBGYNs in the Vaughan area. I wouldn't have taken the time to do this if I didn't just find out some even more wild stuff. For the protection of women, families and the babies, please, STAY AWAY.

A medical procedure was performed on me without telling me the side effects. Post procedure I reached out to them and was told they don't know what the side effects are - which is incredibly shocking! I had to go on to ChatGPT to get answers to my concerns, imagine that, getting no answers from the physician or their staff so you gotta turn to AI. Everytime I see her I get the feeling that she doesn't care about female health issues unless you're pregnant. I cannot recommend this physician and find the approachability and after care dismal. I'm very disheartened and disappointed with the whole experience

Absolutely the BEST OBGYN! Her staff are amazing as well! I love how Dr. Thakkar treats you like you’re a friend/family. If I ever call in with any questions or concerns, the staff get back to me right away. I highly recommend this office! She did my C-section and I had the best experience with her. She is professional. I hate to see negative reviews about her.

Unprofessional, poorly trained, inconsiderate staff that have zero interest in helping. Very unethical.

Sheila Thakkar is just amazing. I was a little particular about the date that I wanted for my c- section, Dr. Thakkar moved her appointments and made sure I got my chose date even though she was not supposed to be at the hospital. She came in for my surgery. During the entire procedure, she was very comforting and helpful. During my epidural session, she ensured that I was super comfortable. The surgery was very smooth.
I know every doctor can do this, but it was the little things she did for me and how much she accommodated my needs, is what has left a lasting impression on me and my husband. I don’t think this review does justice. She is an amazing doctor and a super kind woman. I would highly recommend her as an OB GYN.

Dr. Sheila is so kind and friendly. She puts me at ease every time I go there. I am glad I found her. Yeni at reception is very sweet and friendly.

I was referred here by my family doctor.
I saw Dr. Thakkar a few times and she was lovely, though the appointments were always booked well in advance due to how busy she is, and I often felt rushed. I mostly dealt with the receptionist when I had inquiries.
The reason for the one star review: The last time I called this office, in order to book an appointment concerning the same issue for which I was initially referred, the receptionist refused to book an appointment for me and told me she would have to ask the doctor first, which could take up to three days. The receptionist recommended that I go back to my family doctor for this issue, because this office did not have time for me. The receptionist also indicated that she would call me back concerning a possible appointment after speaking to the doctor herself. That was over a year ago and I have never heard back from this office to this day.

Note, I was not pregnant at any point when I was a patient here, and I believe this played into how I was treated.

I’ve recently had a C-section done by Dr. Sheila Thakkar at Vaughan Hospital and would like to recommend all mommy if you’re having the first baby and looking for someone you can trust for please go see Dr. Thakkar for your pregnancy journey! We live in Waterloo area and have been looking for an OB for long time and finally was connected with Dr. Thakkar. She really cares and knowledgeable. When I was scared, she encouraged me and I felt love from mother. Our whole family really appreciated that our baby was seeing Dr. Thakkar and delivered by her:)

Dr. Thakkar and her nurses are amazing. You seriously can not find a better doctor, while going through pregnancy.
She is extremely professional, kind and calm. She took her time answering all my questions and was always patient with my worries and anxieties as a first time mom.

I had my C- section (by choice) with her and am so happy with the surgery. Everything was super smooth, I’ve recovered so well and never felt pain. I would recommend her one thousand percent.

Dr. Thakkar is AMAZING! She is so gentle, professional and always patient with all my questions. The reception is one of the best i ever experienced. Appointments are always on time and the ladies made everything so easy to follow. Will definitely go back to Dr. Thakkar if I am going to have the 2nd baby.
