I love taking my young kids here for lunch or dinner. I usually get maki and my kids eat chicken and rice. They also serve Thai food.
The human service is always friendly and the robot service is a huge hit with the kids.
This is popular for take out and all you can eat too. Last time I was here the sushi was good (better than others nearby) but a little bit more care in preparation could help make it even better.

I used to love going to this place with my husband. They have good food and the service is usually good with good food.
This recent visit though the service was bad. They didn't come to the table regularly enough to ask for service needs. They couldnt understand english enough to be attentive. And speaking a different language in front of customers is beyond rude.
Then to top it off they choose to automatically add the tip for you? !
They never used to do this before. I don't mind adding a tip. But it's the customers right to tip or not depending on the service and how much I will tip. The degree of service did not deserve a 15% tip. You don't even have the option to take it out when they automatically put it in.
Won't be going back and I suggest others not to either. This restaurant just lost my business entirely.

I regret to inform you that I will not be patronizing your establishment again. Today marked my first visit to your restaurant. Upon arrival, I ordered sushi and specifically requested it to be packed for takeout, despite intending to consume it on the premises. This was due to the limited duration of my lunch break, and the convenience of being able to take any leftovers with me.

As I indulged in my meal, I decided to order additional items for takeout. To my surprise, I was informed that I was not allowed to remain seated in the restaurant. When I inquired about the reason behind this policy, I received no clear explanation, other than being told that I had ordered from the wrong menu. I must emphasize that I was completely unaware of any such distinction, as the menu presented to me upon entering was meant to showcase the restaurant's offerings. This being my inaugural visit, I could not fathom why I was suddenly being denied the opportunity to dine in, especially when I witnessed other patrons being served.

One aspect of your establishment that I did appreciate was the delightful music playing in the background. However, the unfavorable and discriminatory treatment I encountered tarnished this positive impression. Consequently, I called to speak with a member of management and was met with rudeness by your female staff.

Regrettably, I have decided that this visit was not only my first but also my last. I would advise others to allocate their resources elsewhere, to establishments that prioritize and exhibit excellent customer service, irrespective of a customer's race or ethnicity.

Butterfish and salmon sashimi quality is amazing! Big yummy pieces.
Torched sushi is also really good.

Wish it was a bit brighter inside here for lunch or early dinner. Floor is a bit sticky.

I would like to have been happy with my sushi but the truth is…it was not very good. Rice bed seemed stale and had to leave 4 pieces of a 15 piece meal. I NEVER leave sushi on my plate. Service was ok but not excellent. Also, plastic straws are way past over due to be replaced by something more environmentally friendly! My over all opinion says “nope, can not return to Dragon Rolls”

I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience with Dragon Rolls. I placed a takeout order and to my utter shock, I discovered a rock/pebble inside one of the gyoza dumplings. As I attempted to eat it, the rock actually caused damage to my tooth, resulting in significant discomfort and pain. Concerned about this alarming incident, I immediately contacted the restaurant by phone and also sent an email, expecting a prompt response and resolution. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts, nobody bothered to address my concerns or provide any form of assistance. This lack of care and responsiveness is highly disappointing and unacceptable. What's even more concerning is that this is not the first time I've encountered issues with Dragon Rolls. In a previous experience, I ordered their soft shell crab, which turned out to be completely off. While they did credit me for that subpar experience, the fact that they completely ignored my recent serious concern is deeply disheartening. It is crucial for a dining establishment to prioritize customer safety, satisfaction, and address such distressing incidents promptly. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against dining at Dragon Rolls. Their lack of accountability, negligence towards customer well-being, and disregard for resolving issues make them an unfit choice for any dining occasion.

Absolutely Fantastic restaurant. Visiting my friends as I'm from Toronto, the staff are kind, efficient and accomodating. Ate here during NYE, 2022-2023. I put 4/5 stars in atmosphere as they had a door problem that they are trying to fix. Also: pro tip, find a seating in the middle of the restauraunt or deeper in. There are seating that is available nearer the door. However, obtaining a table near the door warrants distractions as they receive many patrons, uber eats drivers, and pick up orders. A cool addition is they have a Robot Cat - server that drops your food off from time to time! The staff grabs empty plates quite fast and do not hassle you. Very professional, courteous and precise!

We will be back.

The servers are not friendly. We are a big group and they watched you if you place a lot of order. Food are average and choices are limited. Seating is for 2 hours but aftwr an hr and a half, they told us last order for our table. Check your bill as they already charge 15% service fee. Also, there is no disount when paying cash. But they advertised there is 10% discount when paying cash.

The reason for four and not five star is not the food.
The food was well presented, fresh, delicious, so much selection, master chefs, and worth the price so please tip if you go.
The only issue is the furniture needs tender care and repairs here and there.
I have been twice last month and will be visiting again soon later this month.

My go-to place for sushi in Pickering! The rolls are always huge and the sashimi is thick cut and meaty.

I always get take out from here. They have their own online ordering system that has a lot of pictures and descriptions. It also gives you an accurate estimate of when you can pick up. The system also notices you when you're close to special promotions based on your order value. Lastly, orders picked up in cash get a discount.

When walking in, the host was more focused on us deciding if we are doing the buffet or a La carte. It was our first time there. So we felt lost plus we had friends that was joining us for dinner. I didn’t realize it was all you can eat. Once we decided, we got our seat. No one told us about the time limit nor did the online reservation system we used to book our reservations. I guess after 2 hours we were suppose to leave. And at that point we never ordered dessert. We were rudely interrupted to pay our $150 bill plus tip. It was insulting the way we were asked to pay and hissed at when we told them their machine wasn’t working. After paying the bill, we got our dessert, the waitress dropped chocolate syrup on my husband. Then 5 mins later we were told we had to leave. We obviously picked the wrong restaurant to have dinner with friends we wanted catch up with after so many years. Honestly, I can’t tell you how the food was as the service left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I keep trying to give this place a 2nd chance, and go back because my kids like it. But the food hasn't gotten better, and the service has gotten far worse.

I appreciate that post initial pandemic, restaurants are dealing with staffing issues, and had this been the case on this occasion I wouldn't call service out as an issue.

But that wasn't the case, there was sufficient staff, just the particular server we had was not on the ball. Our order was missing items, and our server came by our table once only. We ran out of drinks and needed condiments and cutlery for the kids, some food items were not ours, but I had to get up and go to the front desk to get some service. The server then became rude and argumentative and didn't make the experience any better, but made it more bitter.

Walked away paying $160 for 3 adults and 2 kids but felt like it was just an expensive poor experience.

The kids will most likely want to try again, but I will not be joining them.fortunately there are other options I'd prefer to try.

My new favorite sushi spot. Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and the experience was awesome. Food came at a great rate of speed, food was delicious and the staff was kind. Great ambiance music, even having a cool robot bring your food! Definitely will be coming back when looking for all-you-can-eat sushi. Highly recommend!

I’m not an expert taste tester when it comes to Japanese cuisine but I thought the sushi and tempura were good. There is an all you can eat option where you order on an iPad and your waitress brings your table your food. Service was fast. Ambience is beautiful. They even have a robot server!

Can here with my family for a late luch/early dinner and had the best service the food was so fresh and came out so fast my granddaughter was a little fussy and the ladies that serve there occupied her while we ate!

Went with friends that were hungry but I wasn’t as hungry as them. Wanted to order 12 piece sushi roll and miso soup while they were having all you can eat. Apparently the policy is you cannot eat at the same table so they separated us, as well as not letting me sit talking distance to my friends. I happy agreed to their policy but when I asked if I could pay for my food at the separate table and then move to my friends table, they denied it. Just not hungry enough to have all you can eat, asked manager for an exception promising I wouldn’t eat any of their food but still denied being at the same table as my friends. Then asked if I didn’t eat anything nor pay anything, could I sit at the table with them, denied. As well as after I had asked they gave me very poor service, giving everyone a drink at all surrounding tables waiting a long time to ask me if I need anything. Manager has 0 people skills. Would give this a negative rating if possible. Loved dragon rolls for years but after this experience never going again. Sorry to all the hard working staff.

Poor customer service and mediocre food. Upon arriving, we inquired with a male server if there were vegan options. He was not welcoming or helpful and said he cannot guarantee anything is vegan. Throughout our meal, no staff member checked in to make sure everything was okay. At one point, we waited 20 minutes for our tea and juice which never came until I asked the same male server about it. He never apologized about it, took our iPad away and got us our drinks. He told us we couldn’t order anymore food since it has been an hour but the menu said AYCE limit is two hours. Menu items are hit or miss, especially the Thai section. Will not return.

Food quality is ok. I like their green curry shrimp. Management is what makes eating at this restaurant an absolute nightmare. If you have a problem you are challenged and shamed. I had a manager that argued with me for 20 minutes about a problem I had with a food item. The beef tartarki, at this restaurant, was prepared in a way that I found suspicious. I tried to eat it but it was so chewy that I couldn’t swallow it without choking. I tried my best to eat this time and time again because I was made to feel bad about criticizing the food quality. Basically the insistent response I got was that they checked with the chef and the food is fine. To add insult to injury, they told me, mid dinner, that if I didn’t eat it they would charge me for it. This confrontational behaviour made me very uncomfortable and ruined my dinner. I didn't eat the remaining dish and decided to pay for the food instead of eating it and getting sick. They charged my almost as much for the objectionable food items as I would pay for the entire dinner menu.

I refuse to come back and will be going to Makimono down the street. Really bad customer service. We had a terrible experience. When we ordered the soup, it did not taste like Tom Yum and was watered down. The pop had no fizz. When we asked for another glass, they came with a red plastic cup and poured it into my glass. They made us wait to get seated and then charged us the evening menu. They came around once to bring the food. They gave us an iPad that wasn’t working. We had to ask multiple times for our food and for the highchair. They are not family friendly. They rushed us out asking for payment.

I've been here a couple of years back but switched to a la carte sushi at Odine which was affordable. I revisited because wanted ayce and their price is decent with variety vs others in the Durham area. Definitely new changes with the new management. Enjoyed their robot server and it sings for birthdays so it would be a joy for anyone celebrating here. Went for lunch on a weekend and had great options including sashimi and teppanyaki which usually others offer for dinner only. If you're looking for ayce sushi I would recommend this place.

We had 3 people with a baby and called at 9pm if they still get customers. They said “yes and last call at 930pm” so we left home right away to get there soon. However when we get there at 920pm they said “NO” even we still accept the last call at 930pm. I know it’s kind of late and they want to go home but they should let us know on the phone before we came there, don’t treat like that when we get there then say NO.
So much disappointed about this!

Well on the door its shows lunch starts 11am to 3pm. We arrived at 2.40pm and the waitress said its dinner, we found it unfair especially when it says 3pm. Very disappointing.
As well the servers customer service was so bad we had to asked for hot tea 3 times and got it at the middle of the meal. We had a toddler and had to wait and keep asking for a highchair. The servers were very rushed and didn't communicate properly. Only the manager was friendly and came up and had a friendly conversation the rest of the group were just miserable.
I been there many years ago and it was sooo much better. Not going back there again.
Food was great though just the experience was unpleasant

Went here for AYCE at 8: 30pm (their closing time is at 10: 00pm). My friend and I ordered a bunch of items and noticed the staff started cleaning in front of our table while we were eating. We took this as a sign to finish what we can and pack the rest for take out even though there was still some time until 10: 00pm.

Asked the server for two containers only to be told that they will charge us an additional $10 for this. This is the first place I've heard of that charges you for take out for FOOD YOU ALREADY PAID FOR dining in.

Although we told the staff we felt rushed since they were cleaning in front of us, they were adamant on the additional take out fee or to just leave the food as is without charge.

If this is the common practice for AYCE, you should disclose this to your customers beforehand so that they are aware. Used to order from here here and there but our latest service from here will be our last.

Really disappointed. I ordered the the Pepper Beef meal and about 90% or more was onion. I had to eat other people's food to have enough to eat. I wish I could submit a photo to show how little meat I received.
Oh, and there was zero bell peppers. Ridiculous.

Went here with my friends for lunch! Service is great and so is the food. They have the all you can eat. Sushi is great and so was the grill stuff. We enjoyed the dessert

Used to be my go to sushi place prior to the pandemic, but quality has definitely gone down since.

I've returned a handful of times since and what I had hoped were one off issues have become mainstays. The biggest one is that any roll that includes avocado is overstuffed with avocado and very little of the other ingredients. On a related note, it seems they've forgotten how to size a roll because they're about double the size of what you'd expect - they can barely stay together and as a result fall apart when being picked up.

Overall, I'm really disappointed in Dragon Rolls and their amateur food.

Bought food from there today almost $50 worth of sushi and not 1 roll stayed together after I ate one all the rice from other rolls came off or just fell apart. Usually I wouldn't care if it had to 1 or 2 but it was just a whole tray of very loose rolls.

I think this is the worst teriyaki I ever tasted. I ordered the beef teriyaki with assorted tempura. The beef teriyaki has no taste, no seasoning, nothing, it's awful and the beef is rubbery, not tender and juicy at all. The tempura was ok but the sweet potatoes tempura was powdery, how is that possible? First and last time ordering from this place, never again.

This is the first negative review I’ve ever felt compelled to write. I came here last night with my boyfriend. It was fairly busy, with a lot of takeout orders and a full dining room.

Let me tell you, every hot dish we ordered came out cold. The food also took sooo long to come out, and they came out in a weird order (like we got soup and salad at the end of the meal). My boyfriend ordered sashimi and when he bit into it, the fish was frozen. We were there so long, being served cold meal after meal that we just lost our appetite and left. When my boyfriend told the waitress about our experience, she just shrugged and said they’re busy. Well, so are a lot
of restaurants and they still manage to bring out fresh food. Do not come here, or at least, do not come here on a busy night. Probably my worst AYCE sushi experience so far.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a group of 7 for AYCE dinner. We came early (5 pm) to avoid the crowd. Some of our food took an hour to come out and about a third of our food never even made it to the table. After a 1.5 hours of waiting, we asked the waiter about the items we never received. The solution we were offered was to stay longer for the food to come out, which we were unable to do because we had plans for the rest of the night. For reference, the food that didn’t arrive were staples such as tempura, wontons, chicken wings, etc. I have never experienced an AYCE where I didn’t receive my food after 1.5 hours. I would understand if the restaurant was busy, but we were the only group when we first arrived.

Needless to say our group left the restaurant hungry and not satisfied. We paid over $250 and were refused any type of compensation (even though we didn’t receive the food we ordered). I remember this being a great restaurant, but we were not impressed in the slightest with the customer service we received from this visit.

Imagine ordering an almost 50$ tray of sushi and having to throw more than half of it. This is what happened here! The sushi tasted old and the avocado was not fresh. I called the restaurant to let them know and they said “there is nothing we can do about that because our sushi is always fresh! There is no way this tray was made fresh! ” The rice was hard and stale and the taste was just not good. I had sushi from this restaurant before and this is the second bad experience! I’m definitely not going back there again!
I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star for the way they handle customers!

This is the by far the best sushi place in the GTA.
The roll sizes are big and reasonably priced.
The staff and servers are always courteous, helpful and friendly.

I took my family out for sushi dinner. After the strict Covid19 review at the door, we all sat down to a bountiful all-you-can-eat meal. Fresh with lots of variety including some Thai meals.

Service was exceptionally attentive.

Have been back twice since my first foray. You won't be disappointed.

Great service and great food. Fresh food. Very fast when ordering. Best you can do at a buffet during covid. Just order on a tablet and then they bring you your food. Plus, a robot delivers the food to your table sometimes too. All, all you can eat buffets need to implement this style. Also suggest going with the dinner vs lunch. You get more options and refillable soft drinks, coffee and tea included with dinner as opposed to the lunch. They also added new stuff to their menu. Much worth it!

Both times I was wonderfully surprised with the quality of ingredients. Very fresh & tasty.

The staff were very accommodating & polite.
The interiors are very clean & pretty.
They’re following COVID protocols.

We tried this place for the first time and loved everything. Sushi was fresh and we got free spring rolls with our order:) We ordered a variety of sushi, my personal favourites were green dragon and california rolls. Also loved their sashimi, mango salad, miso soup, & Pad Thai. Definitely ordering again.

WORST PLACE EVER! Service was horrible. 99% of the staff don't speak english. They just look at you then walk away. They just drop your food at the corner of your table and take off like a rocket. I waited an hour to start getting my food. I'm still waiting for the rest of my order. Recieved food that was not our order. Waited for water, napkins & cutlery. Had to ask over and over again for everything. Desert came and we haven't even ordered it yet. Servers are rude and tried taking my plate as I was still eating. The iPad died as we were trying to order. Waiter did not want to do anything about our bill. Also expected a tip which I told him don't look for one. Bathrooms are worse then an outhouse. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY and go somewhere else to eat. Not worth the effort. If there was a negative review they would have recieved that for sure.

Great lunch spot whether you're a sushi lover or not! While we are often attracted here for the sushi and mussels. I often find myself filling up on the rest of the amazing dishes as well that's offered here (General Tao, Red Curry, Green Curry, Pad Thai etc etc) and its a great place to meet a group of friends that can't decide what they want as there truly is something for everyone including a private dining area if you have a larger group. The place where sushi lovers and non sushi lovers can co-mingle and enjoy good eats! My only complaint is that the sushi lunch menu could have a bit more variety but considering how much other stuff is available I think I'm definitely asking for too much!

The most HORRIBLE place to eat. Went their for Mothers Day and they service was ridiculous. Food may be good but I cant really tell you because most of it never showed up. We had to call our server for everything (food, water, dessert) basically our entire meal. Server kept bringing food that we didnt order. One moment a server came and dropped 6 bowls of ice cream we didnt even order dessert yet and were still waiting for pur first order. We fought for a 20% discount and left very unsatisfied. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT EAT HERE!

I use to go here a lot with my daughter and really enjoyed it but my last visit a couple of days ago, it's different. It's been a couple of months since the last visit. The food was good but not great like before. The staff wasn't as friendly as before. Prices are high but sushi is usually is pricier. Not sure what happened since my last visit. I'm planning on going again another day just incase it was an off day for them.

I’ve been coming here for years and have to say this is probably my last time. This place is fine if you’re looking for a vast amount of sub par food choices (at best) but my advice is that your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Fast service good food and one of my favourite places in Pickering when I'm feeling sushi. I always come back to this place!

Good selection, especially if you like avocado.all the special rolls have between some and way too much avocado. Service was good though. No missed orders and they arrived very timely. At 27 dollars for midweek dinner it's a bit pricey.

All you can eat Japanese food or a la carte. We usually do all you can eat, drinks not included in the price. The sushi, sashimi and hand rolls are delicious and fresh. The menu has good selection for those who do not enjoy fish. Desserts are limited and most contain dairy except the jello. Our BIGGEST issue with Dragon Rolls is the poor poor service. The servers literally pick up the iPad confirm the order and walk away, they hover too much. The food is then dropped on any clear space on your table. The staff gets annoyed if you have any questions and some are hard to communicate with due to the language barrier. If you are just looking for good sushi it is a great spot. I wouldn't choose this location for a special event or date where a grumpy service could be a downer. I wish they would improve on their service!

Be aware! They say it's an 'all you can eat buffet' but they charge you extra for any left overs! Took my kids to this restaurant to celebrate the start of March break but was thoroughly disappointed. When requested for the bill, the gentleman stated that he was charging us extra for we had not eaten all that was on our plates. My husband and I were flabbergasted! The man even went on to lecturing us how there were people without food in this world. I come from a 3rd world country and I'm quite aware of this! Didn't need him to rub it in. We were lost for words and paid the extra fee. Dragon rolls, you just lost some faithful customers! We'll never be going there again

All you can eat buffet lunch is like all you can wait buffet! So, we had our desserts served before our appetizers.the food wasn't tasty at all and portions were not even close to the standard! I don't know what happened? !

Really really bad food for a-lot of money. Most people still believe all you can eat its the better way to have a dinner.thats maybe true but not here. We paid more than bette places for ala cart order. And the service.they have to stop yelling at each other while they look like they take your order. This use to be ok years ago now just another overpriced restaurant selling wanna be Japanese food

I go here fairly often, and always enjoy the food. Lunch Buffet comes out to 20 dollars and change taxes included.

Grest place for sushi, one of the best in pickering. I would go there again for sure. Staff is very friendly and prices are fair.

Generally friendly customer service, reasonable prices, yummy food (General Tao chicken and sashimi quality is pretty good), lots of seats, good for families!

Brutal service. We sat down and ordered appetizers. 4 other tables were sat after us and were served their complete meals. Some waitress dropped some random appetizer at our table so we ate it. She told me it was not our order and we were getting charged for it. Really? We paid for our drinks and terrible win and left.
