We've had DrainWorks Plumbing come in three times now, once to replace our toilet, another to unclog our kitchen sink, and today to replace our faucet and plumbing. The whole process was very smooth and they responded quickly to us, including on New Years day which was very surprising!

We were always given a 30 min heads up before they arrived. Once they looked at the issues, they gave us a detailed overview with a quote for what needed to be done. Their quotes have been accurate and we're very happy with their service.

I decided to book with DrainWorks initially when looking at quotes from various plumbers because of how the customer rep handled my service inquiry on my initial call. They asked detailed questions about my issue to better understand if they could help (ie was it my dishwasher or plumbing). I found other companies did not ask questions and rather quoted me a service fee to come out.

I also just had the BEST experience with the technician that came by (I believe his name was Ron). Very knowledgeable and patient with my questions in walking through my issue (clogged sink). I would booked with them again! And the price point is very reasonable in comparison to others in the Etobicoke area.

Sudden leak that ruined part of ceiling and walls (drywall) in my finished basement was quickly/properly fixed by these guys - top notch service from initial contact to completion of job. Absolutely everything happened as discussed / promised. Everything explained including charges. I was shocked to see how clean the area was left when completed. Chris, the on-site team member, even recommended and explained how the existed other areas of the pipes would malfunction in a short time frame - so on his professional opinion / suggestion - I am totally confident in the complete repair to this area of pipe work within my home. What started as DIY… turned into a leaky toilet situation.
I looked up local plumbing services and DrainWorks came up on top and they definitely demonstrated why.
JP left an amazing first impression when I called to request a service call, and Chris L was exceptional. He was right on time 8am, assessed my situation and explained my options. Then once we agreed on the path forward, Chris went to work.
The leak is fixed!
The attention to detail was not unnoticed, from the moment Chris arrived, he popped booties on and the clean up after the repair was also greatly appreciated.
While I hope not to have future plumbing issues, I placed the magnet on my fridge when Chris handed it to me.

I called DrainWorks because I wanted to replace the 1 toilet in my condo. Now after working with DrainWorks, I am a 100% satisfied customer. From the client-service team to the product offering and the installer, Chris, everything was perfect!

Drainworks did a lot of work on my old house to put everything
into good working order. They replaced a 22 year old toilet with
a new American Standard Cadet pro toilet with soft close lid, a new stainless steel supply line and wax base ring. They came prepared with a new toilet ready to install from their van. The toilet has a smaller capacity water tank than the old toilet but delivers a much more powerful flush. It also is a bit taller in seat height. Drainworks also removed a leaking two handle faucet on the bathroom pedestal sink, replacing it with a new single lever Moen faucet with new stainless steel supply lines and their own supplied new steel drain trap assembly along with a better pop up drain plug than what was supplied in the Moen faucet package.
In the basement Drainworks dug up all of the old clay drain piping and replaced it with new plastic pipe and new clear-outs to join the newer city plastic drain pipe outside.
Also in the basement Drainworks assembled and installed a new plastic single utility sink on steel legs with a tall pull out spray faucet, connecting a drain line trap and stainless steel supply lines and shut off valves to the utility sink.
Also removed an old prior house owner's amateur installed ABS drain piping section for the washer machine and the water supply piping. Drainworks tied in the new utility sink with the washer machine's new drain pipe and water supply assembly and a proper sink vent.
Replaced the hot and cold rubber hose water supply lines for the washer with new stainless steel lines and shut off valves.
Re-routed about 8 feet of the water supply line as it exited from the water meter in order to clear the house electrical panel that it was blocking.
In the backyard Drainworks removed an old leaking hose bib and installed a new outside hose bib and an inside basement shut-off gate valve.
All of the work was expertly done and fairly priced with written detailed work order invoices and I would not hesitate to recommend Drainworks to anyone who was looking to get their plumbing problems fixed in a timely and expert manner.

Sump pump outlet pipe replacement
We had efflorescence around some existing cracks in our basement that lead to discovering our sump pump not actually discharging properly. The water was being evacuated, but then would just come right back in. Got a few quotes, but Drain Works had the best combo of reviews and cost. A thank you to Jim who came out and scoped the sump pump weeping tile, it showed it had been crushed in multiple spots along the run to the sidewalk. He ran new solid PVC above ground, and we haven't had an issue since! He was courteous, made quick work of it, and JP was great to deal with at the office. We'll see how it all holds up during next year's thaw, but I have little doubt all will be well. Thank you, Drain Works!

We called Drainworks for what we thought was a blockage at the bottom of one of our stacks. They had done excellent work for us back in 2014, replacing our outdoor clay pipes and removing roots. The snowstorm delayed their arrival by a day, but Lou came bright and early the next day and found not just roots but also cracked and heavily encrusted pipes. Through each stage of unearthing the pipes, Lou showed us what the camera was discovering and suggested next steps that his team could take to solve the problem. We decided that it was better to replace all of the indoor clay pipes with pvc once we saw the extent of pipe corrosion. We found Lou and his team to be very professional, efficient and timely in their work, and they cleaned up the work area upon completion. We are very happy with not just the work but also the positive attitude and overall friendliness of Drainworks employees in general, both on the phone and in person. Kudos to Armando, Lou, and his team!

Had a bunch of work done 10 years ago - under the slab drain pipe updates and corrections from previous owners. 10 years on and everything is still perfect. Hard to argue with that.

Jim came over to do an inspection and was terrific: he walked me through his entire process and after finding several deficiencies, I decided to take his recommendations and opted for new toilet and faucet installations. He was able to return a day after and took care of everything. Professional, courteous, and he did a great job. I couldn’t be happier!

We needed a proper assessment on what was causing a sewage back-up in our basement so we called JP at Drainworks to arrange for a technician to bring in camera equipment to check our drain pipe. JP was able to make arrangements for the following business day.

Jim Farr, the attending technician, was able to show us that an extremely thick tree root was blocking 60% of our tile pipe below the main part of the house. This tree root is not something that could be broken up with a snake and it was time to replace this nearly 100 year old pipe.

This meant breaking up the concrete floor for almost the whole length of the house to dig out and replace the old pipe. A very messy undertaking that we were not looking forward to as we’ve had the unfortunate experience of the dust and debris that comes with breaking up a concrete floor from a previous renovation. In addition, there would be the inconvenience of not being able to use the water.

Jim Farr assured us that the Drainworks team could do the entire job in less than a day, that they would enclose the job site area to ensure that dust and debris was contained from the rest of the house, and that the water would be off for a minimal amount of time. Jim also indicated that he could probably have the team there the next day (we needed a bit more time to move a few things so we scheduled for 2 days later).

True to their word, the Drainworks team showed up on time, secured the job site area, and got to work. The team let us know when we had to stop using the water, which to our surprise turned out to be less than 2-1/2 hours! The full job only took approximately 7 hours. With the exception of the wet cement there really wasn’t any evidence of work having been done in the basement that day. That is how clean they left the job site! We can’t begin to express how pleased we are with the professionalism of how this job was managed. If you have a big project like this we highly recommend calling JP at Drainworks to address your needs. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Great initial call. Time booked. They called the day before to confirm and were able to give me a more specific start time. Service techs showed up right on time, saw the scope of the job, quoted accordingly, called in a 2nd tech to help with the work in order to make it more expedient. I had extra questions on site from the initial job booked and they were able to quote and replace at a reasonable rate while they were already there rather than make a second trip and second initial fees. That was very much appreciated. Covid protocols in place. Booties on their feet and all garbage taken with no mess left.

OMG! Our only toilet broke at 10am today, called DrainWorks (they were recommended by our neighbors) and we had a new toilet installed by 4pm! I am so impressed by their quick and very courteous service. The whole process was seamless. The gentlemen that came were very professional and helpful, they gave us our options, no pressure sales at all. I was so happy that no only did they have all the parts with them to fix our toilet on the spot if we wanted to do that, they also had a new toilet with them to install if we'd rather have a new one! Talk about coming prepared! The new toilet is also way better than our old one and I'm very happy with the upgrade. Pricing is very fair and you can expect top-notch service. I will definitely be using them again.

Upon inspection of a leak, PVC pipe was replaced within about 3 hours to a tune of over $1300. The initial one hour charge to inspect and estimate was not waived as I was led to believe verbally when I booked it. The plumber also quoted to install a new shower control with renovation plate for another $1380! If the customer service rep taking bookings is any indication, this company is very confident - but unfortunately has a blind spot when it comes to listening to customers and doing what they can to retain them. I am sure they will continue to quote these rates and many trusting homeowners like myself will unfortunately pay the price as I have in a difficult time sensitive situation. I urge anyone reading this to shop around. I certainly will moving forward, and it certainly will not include DrainWorks.

I am so happy with the service provided by JP, and Jim! They were so nice to deal with. Work was excellent, even though the area the valve was located was very tight, they got the job done efficiently and pretty quick. They are respectful of the surrounding areas wearing booties, etc. Jim even did a minor additional valve that was stuck! He made honest and thoughtful recommendations when asked, and didn’t try to sell me on anything additional to the job at hand. Co-ordination with the city to shut off water with timing of my appointment was a challenge and JP was patient, helpful with tips, and accommodating with a last minute reschedule. Drainkworks is a touch notch plumbing and drain company. I have used them for the last 10+ years. Luke and Jim did work for me twice in the last two weeks. They were on time, professional, honest, and hardworking. If I did not need something they told me I did not need it.

I needed someone to fix a backed up kitchen sink. Spent a week looking for someone. Everyone was booked solid but as soon as I called drain works plumbing, they sent Lou out that afternoon. Lou was fabulous. He fixed the problem in no time. He also took the time to explain what the issue was and how to avoid it in the future. Friendly, professional and caring. When walls came down to do a kitchen renovation we called drain works in to look at the disaster a hack home Renovator had created, and to replace the 150 year old cast iron stack. They quoted on spot I approved and they moved work around so we could keep renovation on track. Lou and his crew on day one did an excellent job on all the below ground work day one Jim and his crew cleaned up all the plumbing and replaced the stack day two. Great work I would not hesitate to recommend them for stack replacement and plumbing cleanup.

Called them in to see if they could unclog an old lead pipe drain that wasn’t allowing my bathtub to drain. As the drain pipe was too old for a partial repair I asked them the cost of replacing the entire line. Not only did they give me a reasonable quote but we’re able to do the job the same day which also included outdated connections to the tub and bathroom sink and main stack.
Jim and Chris did an excellent job and explained exactly what they were going to do. I am very pleased with their work and wouldn’t hesitate to use them in the future.

We have use the services of Drain Works on several occasions, and have always been extremely pleased with the service they have provided. We live in an old house surrounded by many old, large trees, and the trees‘ roots had invaded the sewer drain via a break in the drain. We have had Drain Works come to our house previously on several occasions to clear the roots from the drain, with the understanding and knowledge that the problem would recur when new roots would grow and re-infiltrate the drain again via the break that existed. Most recently, we finally decided to bite the bullet and replace the old sewer drain. The breakage existed under the house, and it would entail digging up the basement to replace the drain.

All our experiences with Drain Works have been extremely positive. Their response time has been very prompt, their staff have been friendly and professional, and their service thorough.

During our most recent experience, JP, who answered our phone call, juggled appointments so that someone could come as soon as possible. He was very professional, very pleasant and very empathetic. When Lou Spada came to inspect the drain, he explained what options we had, and the pros and cons of each option. At that point, we decided that we were going to replace the old drain, so he temporarily unblocked the drain with his scope, explaining that snaking it would only incur additional unnecessary charges if we were going to replace the drain anyway. Much to our surprise, and delight, JP managed to book an appointment for the very next morning to do the required work. The crew was very punctual in their arrival - in fact they were a little early, and started the work promptly, and worked diligently to complete the work the same day. Lou came by several times during the day to check on the progress and let us know how things were going, and he came by at the end of the day to do a full inspection. The work was completed the same day, and when the crew left, they cleaned up all the debris, and left our basement cleaner than when they had started!

We have nothing but the highest praise for JP, for the work crew, and for Lou Spada. Everyone was extremely pleasant and professional, they did everything they promised in a timely manner, and no one tried to upsell anything we didn’t need. We had a significant main sewer issue to deal with and Armando and Stefano did a great job in handling it. They also worked so well with our contractors in developing solutions and working out a plan to achieve the results we needed. Highly recommended!

I have done several major jobs with DrainWorks over the years, including replacing several sewer lines and the water line, and they have done a very thorough and professional job each time from start to finish. It was a really nice touch when I called them this week for help, after attempting to remove and clean the backflow preventer on our sewer line, located 10.5 ft down a breather pipe on my lawn, and the plastic flap came off and stayed at the bottom of the pipe. Armando arrived in less than one hour and was able to patiently and deftly extract the flap by applying sticky toilet wax to the end of the long handle and using it to grab onto the plastic flap lying 10.5 ft down the dark pipe - and then he said there would be no charge, as I have been a long-time, repeat customer. That's the way to delight the customer - way to go Armando!

Had an issue with a toilet. Arranged for a DrainWorks plumber to check it out that day. The plumber was friendly, knowledgeable, and fixed the problem. I would use DrainWorks again for sure.

My tenant reported problems with three toilets. I called DrainWorks to repair because I read positive reviews online. However, the plumber failed to give the right solutions and thus asked for unreasonable price.

The plumber’s diagnose and quote are as follows for 3 toilets A/B/C.
A. Leaking. Toilet tank completely fails, and needs to be rebuilt with new parts. $384+HST.
B. Fillvalve fails and floater gets stuck on top. To replace fillvalve. $218+HST.
C. Leaking. Parts not working. Drainworks does not have American Standard parts. So client order and supply parts. Drainwork comeback another day and install. $268+HST (based on his estimated 1.5 hours labor time).
The total cost would be $983.1 including tax. In addition, I will have to buy parts for the toilet C…No warranty due to older toilet.

I did not hire the plumber to do the job. My reasons were: 1.the quote is way too high. The cost of labor and parts should not be that high based on common sense. 2.a plumber who does not have parts, does not know what parts are available on the market, and needs 1.5 hours to install parts in one toilet tank is not a qualified one. After I said no, the plumber was willing to reduce the quote for the second toilet to $99+HST which I did not accepted either. I paid $69+HST for DrainWorks’ on-site quote.

I took a closer look at the three toilets myself after Drainwork plumber left. I managed to fix all of them with less than $20.

A. Toilet fillvale and floater were working well. Only the flapper did not fit well because it had worn and was stretched. I bought a new flapper from Home Depot and spend 2 min to replace the old one. Toilet stops leaking.
B. The floater was too high. I made minor adjustment and lowered the floater. It works perfectly fine.
C. All parts were good. Only the flapper needs to be replaced. It is true that the parts are a little bit special. However, I bought a Korky toilet seal ring from Home depot. It is designed for American Standard toilet. I replaced the seal in 5 min. Toilet stops leaking.

The flapper and seal are less than $20 in total, and it took me a few minutes to replace parts. I am young and do not have experience in plumbing. DrainWorks might be good at fixing other plumbing issues, but definitely not toilets. Replacing all the parts will solve the problem. But is it the right solution?

We had a basement backup - drainworks came in and got the job done quickly! They were all very professional and friendly - I would definitely recommend this company!

Jim was very courteous, professional and, most of all, competent.
He explained in detail every shortcoming he could identify in our existing kitchen drain setup, and clearly laid out our options in dealing with them.
I'm confident that Jim saved us a lot of money and hassle in the long run by getting everything squared away in one shot.

This company does not offer free estimates. Ive had some bigger name companies come to my home to give me a quote on a drain job however they will not come out unless you book the snaking or camera service. Complete rip off they are not in the industry to help others rather just to get your money. The operator on the phone is very rude and has no compassion. Stay away from this company
