I was with a large group of friends from Wellington on the lake and I really enjoyed our lunch

We did not stay at the inn but ate at the restaurant and BOOKED online well in ADVANCE for brunch and confirmed 2 days before. Only to arrive to find out there was NO reservation! Not sure what kind of reservation system the Drake has for the restaurant but they clearly does NOT work, maybe consider using OpenTable again. We were a party of 7 so lucky the restaurant was not too busy and we got seated. I don't recommend using their on-line reservation system - this was the second time for me! Use the phone and call otherwise you are taking a chance to be disappointed. Once you get past the reservation fiasco the service and food is good.

Came here last week for lunch with my family. Our server was so sweet and friendly. The food was great and to top it off our view was the water, which was nice and calming. Really loved their ambiance. Definitely a place to try!

We had reservation for four people for the dinner. The food and the environment were great, we don’t have any complains on that. The things we cannot tolerant is the service. In the beginning, it takes more than 20 mins for our serve to come to take our order. The server came and said she was not the server of our table, but due to high volume customer, she would come and take the order. We were fine with that and had our order placed.
During the meal, no one came and checked our dining experience. When we tried to eat the dessert, my friend even needed to go to find the server for the dessert menu.
When we paid the bill, the server did not ask if we would like to split the bill, directly gave us one bill. She argued that we did not tell her we want to separate the bill when we politely asked her to split the bill.

Overall, the food and environment were good, but won’t come again due to the bad and careless services.

We had a reservation for a table for four today, boasting a picturesque lake view, yet our dining experience was regrettably marred by subpar service. Our initial server introduced herself and promptly vanished, leaving us waiting for approximately 20 minutes. After seeking assistance from a new server, we were met with a discourteous attitude.

Upon placing our food order, the new server provided only two plates for our party of four, showing little concern for our needs. We had to approach her to request additional plates. When we inquired about the bill, she initially ignored us and later failed to ask if we required separate checks. When we politely requested to split the bill, her response was surprisingly rude, stating, "You only asked for 'a' bill, not 'BILLS'! " Typically, servers would confirm customers' preferences regarding bill separation.

This unpleasant encounter significantly detracted from our dinner, leaving us profoundly disappointed. While the food was passable but not exceptional, we cannot wholeheartedly recommend this place for its cuisine. However, if you're solely interested in the lake view, it might still be worth a visit.

We did not stay at the Inn so I cannot speak to that, we did however dine on the patio and it was excellent. Our waitress was one of the best we have ever had, very attentive, even if you glanced to see where she was she caught on and came over to help. We both had the fish and chips and we have had a LOT of fish and chips over the year, it rated as one of the best away from the coast. The view? You can’t get closer to the lake and it makes for the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a meal. If we are in the area again we will be back.

Visiting PEC for the weekend, staying at the Drake motel. Walked over to the lovely Resto at the Devonshire. Great vibe & energy on a Friday night, lots of good looking folks chatting it up. Sat in a quiet corner and ordered a bottle of.
Started with the yummy corn soup & also had the scallops. Both flavourful
Mains were steak/frites & the fish-5/5
Dessert was tasty brownie with ice cream-wow
Keegan our server was attentive & we finished off with a little port & cognac. Thanks to the manager-Cece, who was so friendly and took care of us

I was visiting the area and we decided went there just for dinner. Sorry but not impressed by this place.

We arrived at Drake Devonshire (restaurant) with great anticipation, enticed by the stunning venue, delightful decor, and breathtaking view. However, our experience fell short, particularly when it came to the food and, more importantly, the service. We encountered problems with an incorrect wine order, ineffective service staff, and mediocre food that did not justify the price charged. Despite this, there is immense potential, and I sincerely hope that the management takes a moment to reassess their approach, aiming to deliver an experience that truly provides value for money and enhances the overall dining experience.

Would not come back here.

Waited over an hour for avocado toast, food was expensive and small portions. Our waitress told us the avocado toast usually comes with a few eggs, and because ours came with one we wouldn't be charged. We were charged for the singular egg so we kindly brough it up. When we paid, management said that each egg is $3 and it won't be removed from our bill. Are you telling me everyone around us with avocado toast was paying $12 for the eggs on top? I found that off putting that they had to stick it to us for $3.

Overall, it was not good. Service was extremely slow and management was rude. Unfortunate because the view is very nice. Definitely not recommending or returning.

The Drake Devonshire is a paradise. With excellent architecture, beautiful interior design, breath taking view of the lake, delicious food and amazing customer service, this place is a must everytime! We had a beautiful view of the Lake in the Owner's Suite, and a mouth watering dinner. My partner ate the Pickerel that was caught in the Countu and I had the Maitake Steak! Will be back next year!

Disaster experience. From beginning to end, rushed through the dinner. Main courses were brought while we were still having our starters & we got the desert list explained to us while we were enjoying our main courses. While the food was decent, the poor service will ultimately what i remember from this place.

Overpriced. Empanadas dry and over cooked. The waiter had to go back for the hot sauce because he forgot it. The bottled water was warm. Is ice water too much to ask for? House wine was weak and tasteless. Two different kinds of beer were not available and the waiter brought a third brand that wasn't even asked for. My husband and I were very disappointed. We don't mind paying extra for good quality but the Drake fell short. We will not recommend this place to our friends.

A blissful Thursday afternoon brunch in the summer. This IS the way to access a table to this sought after establishment in PEC. Top notch drinks, service, decor. A wedding set up was in progress during our visit.

Finally got to check out the for brunch. It definitely lived up to the expectation. Fantastic breakfast with a phenomenal view!

We make a point to visit the restaurant when we are in the county. The food and service is similar to the Drake locations in Toronto, just with a view of the waves of lake Ontario rolling in.

AVOID this place, worst customer service ever! They claim to have a no reservation policy for outside seating, only to be told that we could not be seated outside (even when we arrived 30 minutes before opening and were first in line) because they had other « reservations ». We called 2 weeks prior to try to reserve and got denied and showed up the day before and got told that we had to show up early because it was first come first serve. We wasted a total of 2 hours driving back and forth to this restaurant, biggest waste of time! Unless you want to be direspected DO NOT COME HERE!

Since this place has a high-end hotel, I assumed that the dining room would be very good. I was disappointed in the food, as was my husband. It was mediocre - nothing special in terms of flavour. The bread (for $8) was not good. When the bill was paid, the "tip option" started at 18%. 20%. 22%. This is very presumptuous. What ever happened to 10% tip and 15% for extra good service? The prices of restaurant meals go up over time (with inflation) so the tip amount will rise correspondingly as well - no need to jack up the "expected" tip % in addition, to well beyond what is reasonable. I would not recommend this restaurant.

One of the most beautiful spots in the county. I will say it helps to actually know someone there as I was once sat in the middle of the restaurant for my birthday reservation. Food is always amazing. Love sitting out by the water.

Amazing dinner on the patio! First come first serve so get their early. Weather and food were excellent! We had the Korean chicken and beef roti specials. The oysters and duck wings were phenomenal!

Food was great and we had a table on the patio overlooking the water. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely go back in the future.

Drake Devonshire is Completely disorganized. When you call to reserve for their restaurant the voicemail clearly states reservations for daytime patio dining are not required and are on a first come first serve basis. However, when you get there their story is different and will make you wait 2 hours without a reservation. Update your system and accommodate customers decently. Extremely disappointing service.

Beautiful place but the food restaurant omg, no sauce on the burger kid menu, for this price I expected more! Only the latte was correct.

Really good breakfast, nice service and incredible view. We didn't reserve before since it was all booked online. Just 10 minutes wait. Worth the little wait.

I would not even give this place the 1 star but in order to write a review, I was forced to.but I do want everyone to know that I had a most disappointing visit to this place. One word that comes to mind is "racist". I visited the establishment on August 3rd. We were in Wellington for a day and decided to eat at the Drake. We didn't have prior reservations but upon enquiring were told that it would be a 15 minute wait to be seated in the patio. We were looking forward to enjoying the view of the lake. However, this was not to be. 5 minutes after being told that we would have to wait fifteen, a group of 6-8people (all Caucasian) entered WITHOUT prior reservation. They were NOT asked to wait to be seated but were escorted inside immediately. When our turn came to be seated, 15 minutes later, we went to the patio and realized that not only had the larger group been seated upon arrival, but they had been given the best 3 tables on the patio overlooking the lake. We, on the other hand, were asked to sit in a shabby little corner right next to the service counter with hardly a view and no cool breeze blowing through. We asked them for a better table but were told that if we wanted the tables that were given to the group of 6-8 that came after us, we would have to wait 2 hours. Rightfully, we should have been seated first. It's not like there was a large table for the group, they had been seated at 3 different tables with 4 place settings so I couldn't understand why we were not given a choice of those tables considering that we arrived before them. No effort was made to accommodate us, not even a lame apology. We were so disgusted with this unfair treatment that we left without even sitting down. I will NEVER visit here again and neither will ever recommend this place to anyone I know. It would be a disgrace.

We went there for brunch and I have to say the scenery was amazing! They have a lovely setup and the food was worth waaay more than what they were charging for it. The waffles and chicken was very crispy and delicious once bitten the meat was moist and juicy! I really remembered that part because it was that good! And my Benny was how it should be a wonder creamy hollandaise sauce with a perfectly poached egg sitting on top of a semi crispy ham! Our server Eric was really attentive and i've seen him work all the tables around him in equally attentive fashion, he was a really hard worker and impressive on how responsive he was to our needs. The manager on the site was equally on the ball when he saw one of our orders was missing (i didn't even inform him of this) he was going to rush the kitchen but i informed him quickly that i just ordered late and not to worry and not push the kitchen staff. But that level of detail was really whats putting this place above alot of other restaurants in the area. I am definitely coming back the next time we visit PEC!

We had a very bad experience. We called 2 weeks prior to our arrival to reserve a spot at the restaurant, they had told us no reservation is accepted for outside seating. We arrived 30 minutes before the opening, we were the first in line, only to be told that they can not sit us because of other reservations (which not accepted). Every employee gave us a different version of the rules and why we could not be seated. Clearly some preferences were made which is not fair. Finally, knowing that the restaurant is not located near hotels (belleville) I strongly advise tourist to not make the drive it’s going to be a waste of your time.

Extras Aren't Free

Had a great evening at the Drake. Food and drinks were delicious, except for the piece of hair found in my salad. I raised my concern with the server and she was understanding, but didn't do anything further to compensate for this nasty issue. Will think twice about coming back.

PIRE SERVICE! On a contacté le restaurant 2 semaines à l'avance pour faire une reservation, il nous on dit que ce n'ai pas possible et sur leur site web aussi ca dit premier arrivé premier servit. On se présente au restaurant la veille, ils nous disent qu'il faut venir le matin en avance pour être sur d'avoir de la place et qu'on peut toujours pas réserver. Le samedi matin, on arrive 45 minutes en avance pour être certain de rentrer, on était 10 personnes. Ils nous dissent qu'il n'y a pas de place c'est toute RÉSERVÉ! On avait fait 30 minutes de route de notre hotel. On a meme proposé de s'assoir sur plusieurs table de 2 ou 4 personnes mais ils nous pas voulut nous accommoder. PIRE SERVICE AU MONDE VRAIMENT PAS CONSEILLER
