I'm thrilled to have this fantastic bike store in my neighborhood! The local charm, combined with a great selection of bikes and accessories, makes it my go-to spot. The staff is not only friendly but also genuinely passionate about biking, offering valuable insights and personalized recommendations. Whether you're a casual rider or a serious cyclist, this store has something for everyone. Grateful to have such a gem nearby!

It would be fair to say that I have been brought up to follow the culture and code of cycling. My mentor instilled in me correct codes for when out on the bike. One of the fundamental principles (in the UK at least) is that you ask any cyclist broken down if they are ok. If you can help, you help. Say they need a tube or a pump or a tool they didn’t have. Whatever it is, you stop and try to help. I naively thought this also worked for cycle shops. I have been volunteering in a Toronto Cycle cooperative for over 5 years where this spirit is held true. Anyone that arrives with an issue is helped. We like to keep folks moving.

SO imagine my surprise when I got a flat on the trail down near the CN tower. My heart sank but I soon realised there was a store, an oasis not far away. Off to Dream Cyclery I went.
One there I wanted to purchase a tube, borrow a lever and a pump and get going again. It is slightly embarrassing as I usually have these tools with me but today my ‘nice’ bike’s frame got written off, news that a $3k bike was no more and I was on the city bike, needing to get some air in my face to relax

The mechanic on duty said I would need to buy everything because “he doesn’t lend his tools” and “there was a pump outside”. I was quite amazed. What is even better is, they sold me a presta tube and the ‘pump outside’ only fits Schrader valves, so I would have to buy an adapter too. Funny. This shop is not for cyclists, it is not run in the spirit or culture of cycling and should be avoided by cyclists who love life en velo.

My review was going to be harsher but life is too short and folks just need to know what type of shop this is. DO NOT EVER STOP HERE FOR HELP:) my end bill was $30 just for the record, well worth being able to review this place as a paying customer.

Strikes and gutters, ups and downs

Great bike shop! I was out for a ride in Toronto and ended up destroying my crank set. They took car of me and helped me out when the other shops around could not! Very friendly staff! To the kid who gave me those pedals and crank and the man in the back. Thank you both VERY much.

I went in with my bike in very sad shape - most glaringly I had three broken spokes. I was offered good advice and left my bike to get sorted. After I picked it up my cranks no longer squeaked and it rode, well, like a dream.

Went in to get the brake cable replaced on my sweet old vintage bike, and they very kindly replaced the fender mount for my front light free of charge when all I asked for was a piece of tape to keep it on temporarily. All fixed and ready to roll when I picked it up the same afternoon! Fast, friendly service. Thanks again, guys!

Best bicycle shop in downtown Toronto. Fast service. They always seem to have what you need. They carry my all time favourite bicycle tires, the Made in Japan, Pasela Panaracer #panaracer. Perfect for old commuter Chrome-Molybdenum Bianchi bikes.

Worst customer service possible, and unfortunately that's coming directly from the owner (Linous) over a simple transaction that would have been handled like a professional by any other business owner. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - there are other reputable bike shops in the city that are far more deserving of your time and money. Regardless of what over-reactive response he provides to negative reviews, I would believe the countless people who took the time to share their terrible experience.

I’ve had two great experiences at Dream Cyclery. First they were able to replace one of my tires for me, were super friendly and easy to talk to.

And then today I brought in my bike to have the back tire re-attached because someone had tried to steal it but then left it behind. They were able to fix it right away and free of charge. And they were again extremely friendly and easy to talk to!

I did not have a good experience at the Queens Quay location, specifically we received challenging behaviour from Linus. They had a bicycle that was incorrectly priced. We had no idea about that and when we drove downtown/paid for parking, they would not allow us to pay for the tag price. Keep in mind before we did this, we called to confirm the bike/size was available and we even confirmed the price over the phone (we also had a picture of the bike with the price tag on from the Scarborough location). Linus wanted an additional $200. What made the whole situation worse was his attitude, he also said he would fire the two employees who gave us the wrong price. Overall, an uncomfortable experience and I won't be going back to either the Scarborough or downtown location.

They recently fixed my popped tire. They were fast, friendly, knowledgeable and have a very cute dog on staff!

Absolutely solid service here. Came in for a quick fix just before closing and they were awesome and friendly. I had been hearing rattling/knocking sound and couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from. I thought it was my handlebars at first. Within 2 minutes it was located and fixed.

Initially, came in looking for a bike for my 6 year old daughter. Staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us size a bike for my daughter. As I wasn’t planning on purchasing a bike so quickly, I didn’t bring a physical credit card (all I have is an Apple Wallet). As a result, they placed a hold for the bike.

We were able to purchase the bike later in the afternoon. They added the pedals and tuned it to ensure the bike was ready for my daughter. I also requested they add a kickstand and that wasn’t a problem.

I also brought my bike in for a tune up.

Overall, wife and I are happy and my daughter really likes her new bike.

Came looking for an item that was supposedly in stock as stated online, but was not available. Was disappointed but is a common inventory mistake. I also asked about a stripped spoke nipple, they took a look and gave me a couple for free. Definitely redeemed themselves. Would recommend.

Brought in my girlfriends bike to get both brakes and brake wires replaced and they were able to do it same day. They were really friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything they did and the cost associated very well.

They did a bad job, and the service was even worse. Go anywhere else! Commenting on their work on my bike - they lost the air covers on my tires and didn't replace them when they changed my tires. Then when I went back to ask for the caps, the guy at the cash grumbled and was like 'you don't need them, they're just for dust anyway'. They did not care about the work and lost my equipment, essentially. Customers come here for convenience, but are met with slow wait times and employees with a terrible attitude. Do not go here.
Seeing similar reviews as mine, I would say, don't trust the 5-star reviews. The 1-2 star reviews are TRUE.

Honestly, this place has some of the worst customer service among the bike shops I've visited. The guys working in the front were rude and inattentive. They also overcharged compared to other bike shops and suggested fixing parts that didn't actually need any repairs. If you have the choice, I strongly recommend going to another bike shop instead.

From a technical standpoint, they also lack competence in handling road bikes and are unable to address more complex issues, unlike other bike shops in the area.

It appears that some of their reviews have been manipulated to inflate their rating, and any concerns raised by customers are disregarded or downplayed. Given this, it's unlikely that they will handle this review any differently.

I was hoping to have found my new go to for bike repair and additional purchases but after receiving work that didn’t seem worth the price, I don’t think I’ll go back. When I first went to the store, I was greeted by Greg who was friendly and knowledgeable. My main issue with my bike was the seat and tire pressure but I was advised to go with a basic tune up, I accepted.

When I returned a couple days later to retrieve my bike, I was greeted by someone else (I don’t know his name). My bike wasn’t thoroughly wiped down and overall it seems that the bare minimum was done.

I asked the man who said he serviced my bike, if he wiped my bike down thoroughly after noticing it was still dirty and he said in a nonchalant tone that “some places were hard to reach. ” Those spaces are easily accessible. I paid $100 hoping for good customer service but I’m disappointed to say I didn’t find it here.

Great people and excellent service! My ebike stopped working at a very inconvenient time and because I use my bike everyday it was very stressful. They went above and beyond to help me instead of telling me to go to the manufacturer which many other places would have done. They had it back up and running very quickly because they recognized my bike is one of my main forms of transportation. They have been handling my bikes for a couple years and are always friendly, efficient and reliable. Highly recommend!
