Passed my G2 here on a weekend. Much less crowded on the weekend so parking is easier and my examiner was really nice and didn't make me feel nervous. The test was brief and straight to the point. Didnt have to drive around much. He also came 10 mins earlier. Even the line up inside to change your license is faster on the weekend.

Had quite a smooth experience. Went on a Thursday around 10: 30am for my G1 knowledge and vision tests. Took a token number and sat down. There were about 10 people ahead of me in the queue, but it moved pretty quick. The lady on the counter was efficient and quite nice. Was done with the whole process in about 45 mins.

First of all, I would like to thank examiner Will. He came even a little earlier than the appointed time, spoke very clearly and calmly. He was very kindly polite but fair and correct. In his presence I stopped worrying and passed the exam. Thank you, Will!
Overall my impression of the Port Union Driving Test is positive. Even though there were a lot of people, I didn't have to wait long.

I passed my G2 here first try. To my nervousness I was not able to get the examiner’s name but he’s so calm and I feel comfortable with him he’s a young gentleman, his calm presence ease my nervous state. Despite of the bad reviews others were claiming, I had a totally different experience. There was not much test takers around maybe that’s why the ambience was calmer, I took test on a Sunday. There was only 1 lady staff at the booth and she’s nice and friendly too.

This place got G invigilators who fully lie in the report and fail you to make you come back again and again. I made a right turn in red and he said I disobeyed the traffic laws. The invigilator name is Jermiah/Jeremy something like that, he told me I am bit too fast yet on my report he said I have slowed down on express ways.

This place is full of Lies guys, I would never go back or advise anyone to even go there.

That examiner ANDY first of all he doesn’t even know how to advice to take a turn he was saying me at stop sign go straight and take right when I started going straight he said I asked you to take right and at one intersection he asked me to take left and there was one pedestrian on bicycle who was not even on the zebra crossing he was very far away I took the turn he said you are failed and I asked the reason he said that if that pedestrian was fast on his bicycle he would have hit you And I was like what deja vu and I knew that pedestrian was very far away he was not even at the corner that’s why we all get demotivated.

Went again after having a bad experience thinking it could be different but it was worse.
The lady wasn’t interested to listen to what i was saying and was also really rude.

This drive test centre will definitely give you hard times. The place is not organised, the people are not organized and staff are incompetent and arrogant towards the public. There's is not even a proper helpdesk working and we have to wait hours to even know any details. Must deliver better service for the people. If anyone wants to take there G licence go somewhere better. Consider people equal.

Came here a couple weeks ago based on another reviewer avoiding long wait times at Metro East.

I arrived just after 6 am and was 5th in line. Once it opened I got through by 7: 30am. Staff here helped with my issue of processing experienced driving experience as they couldn't before because of the Rogers outage.

On another note, For those taking G1 written tests that don't want to line up and can make a journey downtown- look at booking an appointment online with Service Ontario to do a written test at the Bay and College location, 777 Bay Street. This is the only Service Ontario where you are able to book an appointment online for a G1 written test.

Passed my G1 (2nd attempt), my G2 (1st attempt) and G license (2nd attempt) at this location. (I first attempted my G at the Lindsey location but I failed). Both instructors for the G2 and G tests were kind and gave me proper direction during the test. I would definitely suggest this location to others!

I went for the G2 road test. My whole experience was smooth. A big thanks to my driver examiner Mr. Sean who was calm and friendly professional. He gave clear instructions and his pleasant attitude helped me to ease my nervousness and made me comfortable during the road test.

It’s actually really to upset to go to this place. After waiting 3 hours i finally went in. The worker lady who gives me test for which i was not requested and not even trained. I was there for signs and rules test even after saying that i am here this two things only. She gives me Air brake test and while giving test i thought it is part of my test.

Please hire some staff and trained them well for in future saving much more time and some negative feelings.

This place is far but worth the trip. This place is far less crowded than the metro east location and the staff is better trained. I reached there 630am and was 7th in line but the line gets really long after 6: 45am.

Worst customer service experience, the employer over just here don't care about others, they wouldn't respond to your query. They just want to get done from you. Long waiting time, we reached by 7 on Saturday morning for g1, got my number by 10. If you come after 7 you havr have to wait for minimum 4 hr to pass the queue.

Some of the staff are rude they speak loudly, even to submit documents one has to wait for 3 hours, i got my G1, but on my passport my last name is not written and on Driving license my last name is written and my extract is same as my driving
license, i cant take my G2 because its mismatch of my last name, i prepared affidavit from Canadian lawyer that passport and driving license belongs to same and one person, lawyer even stamped and signed on affidavit and photocopy of my passport and driving license, i went again to submit my extract and affidavit they refuse to take and said get it attest from your embassy, walk in attestation is closed in embassy Canadian lawyer is taking my guarantee, it means Canadian lawyer attestation has no value.

I do not recommend coming here.

First off, the wait line is just horrible. I arrived at 11: 15 and got in at 4pm. When I did go in to take my G1, a lady named Sharon asked for my identification. Now this is my fault, I didn't bring my passport but she just told me that I couldn't take it and told me to leave. While I understand it's my fault, she could've told me in a kinder manner. It seemed like she didn't understand I waited in the cold for 5 hours. I ended up going back in a few minutes later with my identification and a nice man with long dreadlocks kindly assisted me to a station.

A few days later I went back again with my passport. I had a pass and I went in at 10am, waited in line for 1 hour, and this 40-50 ish asian lady helped me. She was not kind. Again, it was my fault, I got white-out on one of the identification so they couldn't accept it. But she rudely gave me a new piece of paper, said I couldn't take it, and called for the next person to come.

PLEASE make sure to bring the right identification if you're considering coming here because if you don't bring something, many of the staff won't bother and simply ask you to leave.

If you're getting your G1 expect a huge lineup. Be there at 5am or else you'll end up waiting a solid 4 hours. I did my G and some people doing their G1 were still outside since 6am and I finished my G at 11am.

If you're doing a roadtest, just proceed to the front. You don't need to wait like everyone else. Just show up 30min before and you're good to go. I made the mistake of lining up. DO NOT LINEUP if you're taking a roadtest.

As for the roadtest I passed on the first time and the lady I got was pretty meh about her job. Just obey the rules, listen clearly to instructions and comfirm you heard and understand them.check your mirror every 20 seconds, and be aware of your blind spots and you'll pass. Don't blame examiners. You can pass with just common sense and familiarity with the road.

Horrible experience. No order or rhyme or reason for anything. Customer service agent “Paul” no last name, makes the rules as he goes. If you need to book or cancel an appointment, he decided you need to have a print out of your confirmation as well as a print out of your bank statement showing you’ve paid. That’s mind boggling to me. Never have I have anything so absurd, even at a DMV.

My son and I spent several hours in the line up. At 4: 20 pm a staff member came outside to let us know that we would have to come back on January 4th because the computers would be shut down by 4: 30 pm. Are you kidding me! We have been standing in the cold for several hours. The advertised sign stated 5pm closing. Why wouldn't a staff member inform people in the line at least an hour prior? Disgusting. Do not come to this Drive test center. I would like a supervisor at this location to contact us.

In short, horrible place to go, they will let you stay outside for 2 hours and ask you to come back next day an hour before closing.

If I can give -1 then i would but no option for that. Staff is very rude. I went there to convert my Australian licence to Canadian (Ontario) with all the required documents as per the guidelines of transport department of Ontario. Although, i had all the required documents, staff said i cannot transfer it as they required traffic history not drvining abstarct. I spoke with there supervisor or manager and showed email from transport department of Ontario that they onlyrequired driving abstarct. Even after reading email the supervisor behaved very rude and said i don't care about email, I will need what I need and if you cannot prvide then leave. I requested her that please give me in writiing that you cannot accept abstarct but she denied that as well. Very discomfort and unprofessionalism. They didn't even consider email from authorised government body under which they work for.

I went there for my G1 knowledge test on 21/12/24, reached around 7am. There were 10 people already ahead of me in line. I got inside in 20 mins and across the counter took another 20 mins. Ensure you get your dl extract in color as black and white printout at times ain't clear, person across the counter might not accept same (this happened in my case). The lady official there was kind enough to provide a solution so as to consider my Indian driving experience. Questions in exam whether similar to the ones online mock test. All the best guys

I've been to four drive test centre's and port union was the fourth one. I can say for a fact that they were the best of the four. Extremely organized, courteous staff and very understanding test examiners. I would recommend this test center to anyone and everyone! All the best Port Union Drivetest team!

Had my G2 test at this location and my test instructor was the skinny Indian man with the patchy beard and unibrow. Unfortunately the test instructor was very poor based on the advice he gave me when taking into consideration the whole test experience. Despite driving safely throughout the whole test on a rainy day he took off points for minor errors (example: told me I should be driving faster regardless of the poor road conditions due to the rain and wet roads). He also idiotically told me I could retake my test after 10 days like it was no big deal even though we are in a pandemic and everyone is all booked up until next year which is something he should know as an employee at a drive test centre. He wasn't rude or mean just think it's kind of unreasonable to take off points for minor things when not taking into consideration the rain/fog conditions.

I had a G exam there recently and it was with a gentleman. I can say he was pretty picky. Some of his observation was wrong, like he mentioned, I did not look around in the high way, which was not correct. Or, at an intersection for turning left, he told me to turn left twice when I was not safe. (I was told by my driving instructor, I need to turn left when there are no cars coming from 200 m on the other side).

The lady at the left most counter thinks that she is the boss of the Ontario Drive test, she did not acknowledge my other country driver's experience even though I had all the paperwork in original and properly signed and stamped. I don't understand why they treat their customers so badly. We are living in digital era, I even scanned and showed her QR card which showing all my online records, but she dint budge.

Very slow employees. Waited for 4 hrs in the cold weather from 8.30 am 12.30 pm for G1, finally they brought me to the main counter. Surprise, there is another line up there. Then one of lady on counter refused and said show us the license otherwise they’ll not allow to seat in G1. I went to supervisor, then they said yes passport is ok. Now waited another 30 mins to reach at counter. Finally paid the fees at 1.30 pm and started for G1 test. That lady on the counter was so rude. Looks like she was very frustrated on everyone.

Overall an okay experience. The wait time wasn't as long as I was expecting (1.5 hours from arriving to finishing the written test). The lady that gives out the tickets was nice. The front desk people were a bit annoyed and impatient with me but if you're nice, they're not rude. The lady in the classroom was nice too.

I had a very bad experience with the G driving test. It was unfortunate to have as examiner the blonde lady that everyone is complaining about in the reviews. As soon as she entered the car she was visibly unhappy and making comments as why I'm passing from G1 directly to G. I explained that I have almost 17 years driving experience and, on top of that, I took another 15 hours driving lessons at an MTO approved driving school to be sure that I am aligned with the expectations of driving in Ontario. She took me first on the highway (east side), change lanes, exist highway, made me do parallel parking, emergency stop, 3 point turning, left turns, right turns, after we went back on the highway for a second time, again changing lanes and exit. All this were done perfect and she didn't had anything to object. While going back to the driving center, I stopped at the 4 ways stop and let the car that was stopped before me on the other side pass. When it was my turn to pass she stopped me and told me to wait for another car to pass first. I point out that I was stopped before that car and I should pass now and she acted that she did not hear. Obviously she failed me. I asked feedback and she said that it was because of the 4 way stop and I should have waited for everyone to pass. From my knowledge who is stopping first has the right to pass first. If I would have waited for everyone to pass she would have failed me because I didn't move when it was my turn. I believe that at this point she would have failed me anyway, she just had to find a reason why.
It is unfortunate that there is no witness in the car or at least a video recording for this kind of situations. All of us are humans, maybe the lady had a bad day or maybe this is how she usually is (reading the reviews I tend to believe the 2nd option) but Canada it's supposed to be a fair country and this lady it definitely not a good example of being objective and fair.

The worst place to get your license. I waited almost 5 hours for the driving instructor to arrive. When we told the manager it's taking so long they kept asking us to wait 5 min which turned into more than an hour, so unprofessional.

Known ahead it lined up very long, so arrived early at 6: 40am this morning and there were 50+ people in line already. It moved terribly slow for written testers, i.e, roughly 10 min to serve 1 person on average. It took me 5 hours to get my G1 license in hand. The road test is in separate line, so it looked not that bad (as they were roughly served on scheduled time). The staffs are nice and friendly though, so overall I don't give the experience the lowest mark. But MTO needs to improve such bad situation definitely, as it is my worst experience in waiting for a service.

I waited in line for over 3 hours due to the fact that there were only 2 employees working the counters at any given time. I also felt insulted when trying to book my G test as the employee helping me mentioned multiple times "I need to have money to book a test" despite the fact that I already said debt and had my card ready. I also did not like how they tried sending me to a different location when I specifically said I wanted to book my test at this location. The best and only redeeming part of my visit was the security guard at the front door who was very polite and was able to give clear direction for the next steps I should take, that man deserves a raise for his efforts.

Wiry looking kid, slightly built instructor, Indian with patchy facial hair has to be the worst and most miserable human being I've ever met since I moved to Canada. I was at this centre to take my G2 test, he asked me to parallel park in a construction zone, asked me to take out my air freshener and raised his voice when delivering the verdict.

It's an all round shity place. Please avoid this centre to save yourself money and time.

Appearing for test has been a true harassment at this center. They sent a trainee along with a trainer to provide confusing instructions which led to few minor error but enough to get failed per them. When I escalated this to center supervisor, she literally wasted 8 months of mine just to get back to me. I have now chased her million times maybe but she stopped responding after promising to get back with an update. Highly recommend avoiding this center.

I don't actually think they test you on your competence but are there being paid to be bitter and unhappy about how their life ended up. If you get Jeremiah just leave. All he'll give you is unwarranted and unnecessary attitude. I'm sorry your life is miserable but it's not anyone else's fault so please find another job. Utter garbage.

I had my G test this morning at this location. The front desk lady "Mary" who has a strong accent was rude and trying to give me hard times for nothing. Later she was informed by her co -worker that if i wanna give my test wearing glasses it's fine and not a big deal whatever i feel comfortable with. Later on, My examiner "Kevin" came. We proceeded to the route he was professional but not too polite and kind. A little smile on your face would actually bring the person giving the test at ease. Overall it was good.

Also I passed the test.

The rudest staff you will come across. They just dont want to help you and is looking to find ways to get rid of you from the office. I basically wanted to swap my overseas license for an ontario license. The lady picked up my documents went inside came back and said she cant process it as it is missing 'security info' it seems. I was surprised and asked her what security is missing from my license with which i was driving for the past 2 years. She said she cant tell me and just gave me the service ontario number and asked me to step aside. The service ontario people made sure i had all the documents and told me they have a hotline to check if my license is authentic. Please do note that i have an abstract which says the license is authentic. I went back and passed this info to the lady and she said that she cant help and i can speak to a supervisor which i did want to. The supervisor came out with the sternest and most unwelcome face and told me bluntly that she cant help. I asked her how i should go about fixing this and she said that i should call the Nz transport agency. Upon coming back i called the Nz transport agency and they verified that the license had all the required info. I rang the number those people gave me and asked them what is going on. The lady on the phone was helpful and after around 15mins she figured out that the driving record document must have a seal on it and should not be a photocopy. Now look I understand that people make mistakes but the attitude of those people and the sheer nerve to refuse to tell me whats wrong got me frustrated. Please dont go to this drivetest. Try the other ones.

Best Drive Examiners in Business, they share meaningful and relevant advise with drivers, very friendly and professional. I passed my G on second attempt amending my mistakes I had made on first attempt in the same centre. Examiners advise have made me a better defensive driver than before. Kudos to the staff and examiners of Port Union. Great job guys.

I was in and out pretty fast. I visited around 6pm and was called in 2 minutes. The lady was courteous and did everything accordingly. I am happy with that.

AVOID THIS CENTER FOR G2 AND G. This should definitely get a ZERO STAR. They are simply waiting to trap you with any reason (read they want to EARN more by failing you). My examiner was a young girl, name was with some S or C (cant recollect).

She was APPLYING LIPCOLOR during my drive test! AND THE Heights of power misuse. Unclear directions and did not give guidance of route.

Most arrogant, rude examiner with absolutely no sense of reasoning. She was not even ready to see my intention while taking left turn, she slammed on the brakes saying I was about to hit pedestrians (whereas I had stopped the car!). I dint argue with her, I expressed my intentions and my explained my action and continued with the test. When she couldn't find any mistake anywhere and gave this absolute LAME excuse to FAIL. She was in no mood to PASS me ever since the start, not at all friendly, no interest to listen to the candidate.

The test route was utter simple, no trouble at all, I followed all signs, posts, speed limits, lane change, parking was awesome! Your luck here totally depends on EXAMINER and I bet this female is a big trouble.

AVOID THIS CENTER ABSOLUTELY. Drive to far off centers which might have better chances of getting decent instructors, ignore this center totally. Total fake and scamsters. If you happen to choose this center - CHANGE YOUR CENTER PLEASE. Beware of TORONTO PORT UNION DRIVING TEST CENTER.

Aparently one should drive on the right lane while making a left turn, and one should check the blind spot after taking the left turn!
Despite a perfect parallel park and a smooth drive they look for any and every reason to fail a simple drive test!

I can only imagine why the reviews are so bad!

Absolute garbage. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Female instructor was clearly in a bad mood from the moment she got into my car. This crazy woman GRABBED MY STEERING WHEEL while I was making a left turn and she screamed that I was driving into oncoming traffic. Utterly insane. I had been driving for a year at this point with glowing reviews from my driving instructor so I know I'm not a bad driver and I know how to make a left turn. I had also been practicing around this location for weeks.

She asked me at one point to do a lane change (RIGHT before an intersection) but I did not have the room to safely make the change. I had been taught to check to make sure I can move over, signal, check again, then complete the change. She told me I should have turned my signal on and left it until "other drivers made room" for me. Ridiculous.

She failed me, and when I checked the sheet, almost everything on it was an outright lie. She claimed I parked incorrectly on a slope, but we never parked on a slope! The only parking we did was a parallel park on a completely flat street. She claimed I did not check my blind spot when doing a lane change-but it was BECAUSE I checked my blind spot that I knew I was unable to safely complete a lane change (and she wouldn't let me do another one elsewhere).

I'm usually not a person who subscribes to conspiracy theories about places like this failing people on purpose to make more money, but after my experience there, I firmly believe that is exactly what they do. People like her should not be allowed to test with anyone.

The Drive Test center is open on Saturday which is good and helpful for those who are busy in weekdays. The crowd is more as it is off for most of the people.
As the number of customers are more with same fixed number of staff. The are a bit fast and dont entertain any question after they told somthing. So if you have few question which you want to be answered better come on weekday.

Did my G2 road test, every went fine but coming into the parking lot, there was no stop sign and I was to turn left, the driver coming on the straight road stopped and allowed me to turn left cos he waited, I was about turning left but the examiner failed me claiming that the driver on the straight road had the right of way. Its unfair cos the driver stopped to allow me pass.

It was worst i went there for adding my indian driving licences experience she said i know thats orignal but it doesn't havethe detail what we want i ask for the detail what they want to get a new document from india bit she may be she was angry she said i cant tell

I just passed my G2 road test today on first attempt. The examiner, Jeremiah, a cool guy, was early by 5 mins, give clear instructions before starting off the test, and while doing the exam. He is doing his own verifications so I am being guided on what to do. Even if I did few mistakes, which are not major, he said I met Ministry standards. I am doing this review to thank him and the test centre for doing a great job.

Submitted my medical report for D 'Z' licence.
Service was supersingly very fast.less than 10 minuites.however I ask for a confirmation of my transaction but was told 'they don't' give this out!? So I will have to cross my fingers and hope that it was entered into the system!? Oh I forgot to mention that I paid $60 for the report.

Poor attitude. These staff do not know how to actively listen and are not focused on the costumers concerns. Its almost as if they passed the interview and then forgot there costumer service training.

I passed my G2 license on my 2nd attempt, my instructor made me feel comfortable and was very pleasant during the test providing me with clear instructions, even tho I made a few minor mistakes, my experience at this drive test centre was good. Tip for anyone who’s wants to take their road test at this location; try practicing or studying the routes around the centre before you take the test. Some of the roads are tricky and there’s a few road signs that you have to pay attention to; especially when you make a right off of Rylander Blvd into Kingston road and the right lane ends, you gotta quickly merge into the left lane, the instructor will expect you to do so without telling you; since the sign is posted.

The examiner was in a bad mood, and system was down, so they had to examine me by filling the form manually not electronically, as such the examiner had more flexibility to be subjective and bias.
My test was supposed to be at 10: 22 AM, he came to my car at 10: 07 AM, which is not my fault. Then once we started the test he realized that he picked me by mistake, so he got very fraustrated and started to interfere my driving by rushing me and unnecessarily pressing the breaks paddle all along the test.
Meanwhile driving, I could see him trying to add more mistakes on the paper to make me fail and eventually he did.
Who can hold this people responsible for the unprofessional behaviour? It’s a waste of time and money.
As soon as the examiner got in the test centre again the staff started fighting each other in front of everyone, because he has taken me before the other people waiting in line, it’s not my fault. If I knew he has mistakenly picked me before the others in line I would have notified him about the matter. But again it’s not my mistake.
After all, I end up failing the exam because the system was down, the center has lack of administration, which has had negatively impacted the staff’s performance (didn’t even talk yet about how rude the staff are) and eventually I had to deal with all of that. In what universe is that fair!

They rejected my indian licence but the other location apporved it. Learn the law before harassing others.
