2 weeks ago came here I failed my exam had a very rude and condescending instructor lady with a mask and green hair she was special very rude! Today went to a different location for my g test and instructor was very nice and friendly I passed with flying colours he said it was perfect! Not recommend to go here chose a different location!

Une très belle expérience et un très bon service reçu ce lundi. Les gens du personnel sont tellement gentils, spécialement Mme Karine celle qui a été ma monitrice lors de mon examen G2. J'ai eu mon G2, elle était tellement exceptionnelle, polie, serviable et on sent qu'elle aime sa job. Merci à elle.

Friendly staff. The male examiner for my G test was stern but was nice. I think they have to be pretty stern for this job. Don't take it personally if they don't talk to you much.

Went in to get M1 and they messed up big. They only gave the G1. When I told them what happened they said there is nothing they can do. Not only that.they over charged me and will NOT give a refund!

Had a pretty funny experience here. A few months ago, I took my parents (recently landed immigrants) to get their driver's license transferred. All went well for my moms written test and she passed it, we then booked a road test. My dad, however, had forgotten a piece of document and we had to go back and get it for them to process. This time another lady was assisting us. She asked for some of the translated documents wgich I provided it to her. Surprisingly, she said this is a printed version. Where is the original copy? Which I responded, this translated doc is all I have and came in email. In fact, the translator is in Toronto and all their business is done online. She refused to serve us with that copy even when showing her the original email. When I told her this is pure dumb, my mom has already passed her test with the same documents and has booked a road test, she responded, " oh! Then give me her information, cause I need to cancel her test results". Im still laughing while Im typing this months later, but she was serious and she did cancel her test results. What makes it even funnier is that the day after that, we got both of their tests taken again at another location in Ottawa and despite my explanations about the translated documents not being the original copies and are printed from the PDF, the lady at the counter responded "it doesnt matter" and she did the paper work.
That first lady didn't do anything, but ruining our day and wasting our time.

Very accommodating admin, very constructive but tough examiners. F class is a tough one - get training before you try your test, don’t waste your time!

Was recommended canotek by a friend after taking my g2 road test at walkley and not having a great experience. I understand that the testers need to be professional and on the serious side, however the guy doing my road test at Canotek was much more patient and friendly than during my previous experience. The ladies at the front desk were also very kind!

I went to get my g1 today and had a really bad experience. The staff were rude, agressive and loud. There was some attitude and eye rolls, sighs from the staff. When I was doing my test It was so loud I could barely hear my thoughts and I had to block my ear in order to read the questions. They were laughing and talking very loudly close and in the room where the test are done. I had to ask headphones. But even then I could hear them. I did not feel good leaving this place. Horrible experience would not recommend to anyone.

Less waiting time than Walkley but their understanding is 0 they don’t wanna listen problems.
Every province have different rules they have any good record (which we accomplished with our hard work) but they keep bad records for several years. Non-convenient services for public

Front desk Lady is very efficient and friendly. Staff all very nice. I went there Thursday morning around 9am. Wait like 20 mins ish.

My examiner was Andrew. He's so cool, calm, nice and very polite. Though the lady at the front desk speaks louder than normal. I guess that's just how she talks and some people miss undertand her. My overall experience was great.

The lady at the entrance was particularly kind with us. We arrived with the whole family, my wife and I both needed to have our licenses ready and our daughters 4 & 6 yo, were a bit noisy. But there was a great coordination from the the picture to the test to the actual printing of the temporary license.

Great center. Amazing staff. Came at 8 30 am.gave a knowledge test and left at 9 15 am.
Advice for people taking a g1 test to come early in the morning. It is usually less crowded.

Very bad! Canceled bcz I don't have enough windshield water.yet there is no snow.sunny day came early (I had enough time to go add more but he refused and say go book another test drive.bought it and cane back on time, still refuses. Very bad people.

I would give zero stars if possible. I had a horrendous experience with the service. On their website it said the wait line was around 45 minutes. We waited around two and a half hours because the workers told us that I had time to do the g1 test. We already paid the fee and two and a half hours later, five minutes before closing they told me that I had to go home as they are closing soon. There was an open spot for the test however they told us that they would not give a second more after five (the closing time) and if I couldn't finish in the five minutes even if I had three questions left they would cancel my test and make me retake it another day. Spent over three and a half hours on absolutely nothing.

Today I went for the G1. I expected a bad service as I had referred to the previous reviews. But for some reason, I had a very professional and friendly service from all the officers. Good job

Very nice location! Polite customer service, testers are fair. I recommend this location over Walkley which is too busy.

Drove 40 minutes to road test centre, they cancelled my appointment due to weather. They didn’t email me or contact me at all about the cancellation. At least say on your website that road tests are cancelled.

Good experience when I was doing my driving test at this location. When I did my Gs, I forgot who I had but I had the best experience. Just relax and think of going on a car ride and you’ll be fine,

I had an amazing experience dealing with the employees at Canotek Drive Test. I did my G2 test today and PASSED; had an awesome examiner Rocco. He is very straight and matter of fact BUT, allowed me to shine.

I had the chance to take a drive test with Andrew! Hands down the best tester I’ve had in my test “career”. He was clear, gave instructions efficiently and gave a heads up on any changes on road closures and speed limits. If you are lucky to have Andrew, you are really lucky! Thanks Andrew!

They need more staff, place is always packed and they have no staff to serve anyone. You go here you will be sitting a long long time.

I should have read the reviews before making an appointment here. The reviewer was extremely aggressive and rude even before he got in the car. I suspect him to be racist

I just moved to Ottawa and have good impressions of people in here except these staffs. Two girls in office, they are so unkind, unprofessional and often whispering each other.

I felt I had made some mistake here and uncomfortable to stand there in front of them. If I didn't sure about something. They just little explanation. It is that really hard. I will never recommend this place specifically who comes from other province.

Just passed my G test here. My examiner was named Karen, she was super nice. The test only lasted about 10-15 minutes tops. Great service!

I completed my G test at this location and had a pleasant experience. The lady who helped direct people at the entrance was very inviting. My evaluator was polite, calm, and fair. As of my test date on March 30th 2022, there was no long wait time or line outside of this location.

I read these reviews the night before my evaluation and got all nervous, so wanted to post this so that anyone who was nervous like I was is aware that there are positive experiences at this location as well.

The worst experience that I have ever had!
People sitting on chairs, don't care about anyone!
I brought international license and they didn't accept it! They said we want local.
After bringing local, they say: it's not adoptable to the standards!
When I ask explaining, they don't say anything and don't care.
Not respectful people!

It was a great experience, the staff was very friendly and my work was done as soon as possible.

I liked this place because staff is very well and organized. This location is so far from public area. I have done my G1 written test that was tough but I have done successfully. Hopefully next experience would be great with them.

My son was doing his driving test, and this lady named Karen made him fail because he was driving too slow.how can someone drive too slow when your supposed to go 40 in the area.when I went to the area my son took the test at, the speed limit was 40 and 50 in some areas and she has the nerve to tell my son he did everything good but drove too slow.

I was told that i did my maneuvers perfectly, then i was failed by this karen lady for going too slow. Slowest i went was 35 in a max 40 zone.

Why they don’t do online written test and why people have to wait 3 hours outside in the winter-14 degree.

The lady in the door is very rude and abusing customers, she makes you feeling like you are invading her private property, poor customer service.the staff inside need to be trained how to interact with customers.

I would NOT recommend this place, ESPECIALLY for people who are nervous about taking their test. The person who tested me was super aggressive and condescending from the very beginning. Literally spoke to me like I was a child. The experience was unpleasant, and I got so uncomfortable, that I made mistakes that I normally would not have. I will NOT be going back here for my next attempt. Even if I have to go to another city to take the test, I'll do it.

If only I had an option for “zero” stars. Rude and racist examiner. No feedback after the test. When called the test Center nobody receives your calls, and their voicemail box is full. Awful!

Just passed the G test. Remember to park at the back of the building. The examiner was a lady named Karen, she was strict but professional. She explained every details before the test. If you are taking a G be prepared for many times of lane changing, if you weren’t asked to do a parallel parking be prepared to do a reverse parking, I was also asked to do a front parking. Don’t go too slow, need to make sure you are at or a bit below the speed limit.

Examiners are rude like they are the government themselves. Dude, chill. You’re just working there. Be professional but be nice too.

Good experience unlike what some other people have posted here. Took my daughter here for her G1. We had to wait in line for an hour but that was expected and was less wait time than many other places. Once she was in, all went smoothly for her and test itself took less than 10 minutes to pass. Nobody was rude. Door lady was doing her job just fine. I saw an old white lady walking to her to file a complaint about the examiner who had taken her road test and had failed her. She was barely speaking comprehensive English, was an immigrant clearly. And I was thinking she must have had comminution issues with her examiner which resulted in her failing the test and now she would go online and leave a negative view about this center. I have noticed most people who have left negative reviews about this center are the ones who have failed their driving tests. Many of them are immigrants or new to Ontario. They should focus on improving their driving and accept that they are not as good driver as they think they are, instead of blaming their examiners and leaving negative reviews here.

I did my G test at this location yesterday and passed. I was greeted by a lady, who was very kind, and the other workers inside were friendly as well. My test examiner was a lady named Karen and although she was strict and direct, she was really professional and did speak kindly to me after the test. I did not feel uncomfortable with her. Be prepared to perform a reverse parking if you did not get to perform a parallel parking!

Terrible customer service. Both the greeter and drive tester were incredibly rude and gave unprofessional, sarcastic responses to questions and small mistakes.

Absolutely awful…. First there was the whole headache of trying to book something which the Govt of Ontario should recognize is not working. Opening a few temp locations won’t fix things, come on people do the Math! Then there’s the chaos that happens at this location. Covid plays a role but just like long-term care it isn’t a priority.

Worked in and managed call centers my whole life and have to say that my local pizza shop, which probably receives the same volume of calls on a busy night, is managed better. REALLY?

If you wanna fail for no reasons go this center waste of time and waste of money and also the lady in the entrance really thinks she owns the place
The person who make you the exam will fail over stupid things and will make the exam longest as possible to fail

The examiners are racist here. They fail you on small mistakes. They should see the overall drive during the test. I did everything fine but they failed as i went a little above speed limit for 1s.
On the same hand, other one was passed because maybe he was canadian.
Examiner Andrew seemed good, but later he turned out to be rude. They need 100$ as they lost a lot of money due to covid maybe. So they are trying to cover up by failing people.
Ontario's driving tests sucks.
There should be only one drive test which can give you authority to drive over all of canada

They don't even deserve 1 star. They are all rasist and rude. They fail you with minor mistakes. My mom has driving experience for more than 30 years. She moved from Quebec to Ontario and had to redo her G exam.

My mom had the test with an old woman that her name was Karen, I think, but her identification number was 382. It was obvious that she hated her job and was extremely rude.

During the test, my mom was driving 35 km/h in a max. 40km/h area. The examnier started shouting at her that she is going too slow. Then in the highway, there was some construction going on and there was a 50 km/h sign. So, my mom obeid the sign and drove 50 km/h. The examiner started yelling at her that she was going too slow and she shouldn't consider the construction sign and failed her because the sign only means "CAUTION" and she should go 100 km/h no matter what the sign is written! Also, by entering the highway, there was a 40km/h sign on the ramp and she stilled yelled at her that she should go 100 km/h in a turning ramp to enter the highway!

After the exam, I wanted to talk to the manager. One hijabi old woman acted so rude in front of the door and didn't let me in. After waiting for 30 minutes outside under the sun, she only let my mom in and said that her manager, called Emily, doesn't wanna talk to me! This is SO RUDE. Even when the manager talked to my mom, she said that she cannot do anything and didn't take her time to listen to my mom.

There is no control on them and they only want to fill their pockets after the covid-19 situation with failling people over and over. A MINIMUM RESPECT IS REQUIRRED.

Just to let you know, every single person who did the test at the same time as my mom FAILED. Isn't that suspicous a LITTLE BIT? !

I would have given 4 or 5 star rating to this location if I had not interacted with this so-called greeter with the name Ayda at the Canotek location. I agree with others who have also felt that this person needs some training on how to greet or even how to talk to the clients, a smile on her face would be an added bonus! During my fifteen minutes that I spent at the location, I noticed she was rude and argued with at least five different individuals.

I just came here to let everyone know how professional and nice Ayda was. She is the middle eastern woman who does the intake and stuff. I've seen a lot of angry reviews saying she was rude etc, but I was there all day yesterday, failed my G1 twice, came back today and passed. She was talking with me both days and both days she was very nice, respectful and helpful. She even wished me good luck today. I think some of the younger people might misinterpret her assertiveness as rude, but she's very good at her job and I did not find her rude at all. P. S: If you're going in for your written G1, BE PREPARED. The first test is actually very hard and will throw you off if you didn't study extensively. Once you fail, you can retake the test for $16, but will have to go STAND AT THE BACK OF THE LINE YET AGAIN and wait another hour + before you can retake it. That last part is my only real complaint. Oh and not ONE question about demerit points was on the test, all 3 times that I took it. Something I studied extensively.

I had a terrible experience with extremely rude staffs. They were very unprofessional, judgemental and borderline racist.

The lady at the front desk understood COVID-19 screening in a completely different way as she used it to show her authority, especially when instructing (not inviting) applicants to go inside to take tests. Some clerks believe that being rude would be the best way to show themselves as good employees.
I think her name is "ayda" as most of the previous negative reviews describe the same impudent person!
She needs to incorporate words like "please, would you mind, thank you" in her dictionary when dealing with customers.
It would be nice for her also to know the magic of smiling. Young people coming for the G1 test are already overwhelmed by their 1st official driving exam.

If I was able to give zero stars, I would. The staff are rude and have no sympathy or compassion. The lady at the front door “Adya” was awful. She offered no help and loved saying no. When I decided to talk to the “supervisor” she was exactly the same, rude and dismissive. Overall, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Please save yourself before coming here!

There is a bald white male who fails you because you are not white. He is totally rude, unprofessional and hater.constant yelling and shouting during the test.

Just passed my G test. The examiner Andrew was extremely professional! He explained everything in details before starting the exam, and also answered all my questions. What I like the most was his nice character!

Due to covid, it took a little longer, but the service was great, and the lady at the desk was super helpful.

Perfect. I was nervous even though I have experience since 2006. But they were polite and silent also cool. Passed full g test

They've cancelled my G2 test drive a week before it would've happened after I've waited a few months "due to COVID-19" and "I wasn't close enough to their building". I can drive there in 15 minutes going 50 and that's too far? They couldn't even reschedule me another date and time. Great, here's to me waiting a few more months but we all know they don't care.

DO NOT READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING FOR A TEST! You will mess up for sure!
I cleared my g2 and g1 in first trial here. I was the last one for my road test so naturally my instructor was tired and grumpy. I did what she told me to do and yes, I did make some mistakes as I was nervous and she not only corrected me but was totally inderstanding that I am making those mistakes cause of my nerves. Do not take the attitude personally and don’t be scared of them as they are humans as well.
Until and unless you do something seriously life threatening they will not fail you. So just be confident and know your parking skills. I did a 3 point, forward, uphill and parallel parking. Don’t forget to give signal and check your blindspots.

J'ai passé mon Full G aujourd'hui le 04/12/2020 à 11h30.l'accueil a été à la hauteur.la dame qui m'a accueilli, m'a tout expliqué sur les papiers à préparer, sur la confirmation de rendez vous sur le PC, sur le parking réservé au test pratique, et aussi sont ouverts à toutes questions que vous voulez poser.un autre avantage c'est qu'ils sont bilingue Français et Anglais.
Pas de fil d'attente, service très organisé et collaborateur.
L'examinateur a été si courtois et très calme à un point qu'il m'a mis à l'aise pour conduire dans des conditions très pénibles de pluie et de travaux sur l'autoroute.ils veulent que les gens réussissent leurs tests surtout lorsque les règles de sécurité sont très bien respectées.
A la fin, l'examinateur m'a annoncé le fameux mot: " félicitation pour le permis G ".
Une évaluation générale: 10/10

Came here for the G1- lined up an hour before opening and there were only 3 people ahead in line. Great service from the employees there! All in all it took just 45 mins once they opened to get all formalities done

I passed but why are driver test instructors so rude and obnoxious? A little niceness would only make an already anxious driver feel a little better

I had my road test to get the full G, and the instructor (professionals) when I was get into the queensway was yelling at me and screaming, this is very a very dangerous action, she can cause an accident, I did a safe move, so how she can explain that I get into the route? Second, a turn to the left, a PEDESTRIAN was walking on a wrong signal, so I stopped, she said why I stopped, I told her: did you see the pedestrian? And she said, well it's not his light. REALLY? And the worst in front of a school, buses get in and get out, I was giving the right to one, and she said: keep moving is your right, of course I know its my right, but what about courtesy? To finish I fail, I went to do my road test for G2, and I had the same instructor when I ask to change, REALLY? I would love to know if there is a Manager over there, or its like the employees control the centre, plus when I wrote my complain, they told me that in 24 hours I will receive and answer.one month after and I still waiting.
