Had the same experience,
If your a good driver and follow the rules you’ll pass.

Very quick location!

First of all don’t believe these reviews.

Must be people that don’t like real critics.
Your driving on the road, must take this serious & have so little check mark to pass the test.

This was the most quickest experience of my life, all 3 lady’s were extremely nice & helped me throughout my application because I had only 5 minutes to sign in.

They were very welcoming even though I wasn’t the 30 min arrival before my appointment.

Thanks to this location taking me last minute.

Worst experience in this test center couple of times same as every one says the lady was completely wrong and i donno whats the retirement age for them and serco takes whole responsible of this she is short and she cant see the gap in between vehicles i am driving there i can see clearly its not my fault i read lot of reviews on her was completely right and shows racism on non local people

Bringing my confidence down in driving because of the rude people handling the test center. Horrible service for the tax money given by the people.

It's a hit and miss here, one lady is reasonable and the other one isn't. My daughter failed and they lied about it, she even contradicted herself on her exam form which you can download off the MTO site by entering your Driver's license #. She said she verbally told my daughter when she was speeding when she didn't and her boss that sticks by her is saying the tablet they have recorded the speed, another lady told me it's just a plain tablet it doesn't record speed (still waiting to hear if it's true or not) but even though it's recorded no one wants to give us the proof. My daughter is so scared to get in trouble with the law that she is very conscious of her speed when she drives. Anyhow this lady's examiner's # is on the sheet as well, it's 395 as mentioned by others on here, if you are writing an honest review of your bad experience with this lady please try to make sure you know which one she is instead of just calling her the old cranky one. I'm not sure the age of the nice lady but I would hate for her to get bad reviews by accident. My son had her and he had zero issues with her but we are definitely not going back there and risking to get her again. Did I mention that she laughed just before telling my daughter she failed? Extremely unprofessional.

Incompetent - can't keep appointments. Witnessed someone show up for a road test only to learn these clowns didn't even have an examiner scheduled. They didn't notify. No call, no email. Now the person is another month behind.
For all the hard work, suffering and commitment it takes for many struggling people to get their licenses back, this complete dropping of the ball is apauling not to mention their rude nonchalant attitude towards their glaring lack of competence.

Would give negative stars, if possible.
I learned Ontario driving tests were PRIVATIZED in 2001.
Testing is HIGHLY subjective; where one examiner will make positive marks for checking mirrors, for example, the next examiner with give negative marks for the same thing.

Well what can I say that others have not. Arrived at 810am for 830 tried the door exactly at 830 it was still locked a minute later she opened it and grumbled with her mouth full of food you only have a minute you better hurry. Complaint after complaint not getting up to speed fast enough. Mirrors. Oh and the awesome road to get back to the drive centre from boundary road. It looks like the same exit. Both ladies were rude and snotty. The instructor I have seen around town for 19 years but had no idea she worked with the public. Really sad to see in 2022 but if you’re not a local chances are you won’t pass. Oh and white oops had to say it.

The older woman at the front needs to be given either a different position or let go. She is absolutely incompetent and messes the easiest things up. I passed my G license as I had the nice gentlemen and have been driving for a long time. She couldn’t even print my temp one saying I had something on my file from my old proving which isn’t true. I never even had a ticket in my old province. It turned a happy experience into a very stressful time. It was a Wednesday and she said she would call me back by Friday which she never did. She could have at least called to tell me an update but no and of course there’s no phone. I have never experienced such bad service anywhere in my life. Please please get rid of her and find someone who doesn’t make life harder when it doesn’t have to be.

I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but I had an excellent experience. I took my g2 test there yesterday. It was very smooth. The examiner gave all directions well in advance and was very pleasent.

Very different and challenging for the elderly but understandably so but the staff are quite helpful
24 June 2022 8:40
Staff were friendly. Woman doing the driving exam explained expectations before we started. No public washroom on site and test was 40 minutes later than what I had signed up for. All and all a good experience.

Ok so here we are, posting the exact same complaint as everyone else. And yet, this old lady is still continuing to do the test. She is totally rude and fails people for no reason. I have had both my own kids and my relatives go through this old women. She fails almost everyone for all the same reason! Check out the rest of the reviews! She is just looking for money. 91$ as many times as she can get it! I don’t usually post, but we have had enough of this.
Her typical complaint is checking mirrors. How often can a person check their mirrors before it’s actually considered unsafe! She clearly is not paying attention and if she is, she’s failing people regardless. She will say how well you did on everything else but apparently nobody checks their mirrors enough. If you were to swing your head around anymore then you already do, it would be unsafe! This women needs to move on. Hope she reads the reviews. She’s horrible at her job. It’s like she gets satisfaction out of intimidating people by failing them. Anyone who has passed this test that I know, just got lucky. Doesn’t matter how you drive. She has poor judgment. Move out lady!

Gave 2 stars because the staff inside were very nice for the most part, but would give 0 if i could. Had the old lady everyones talking about, she wouldn't do my test due to a tiny crack in the passenger side windshield which was not in the line of view. I have talked to several people who have recently came to this location for their road tests with even larger cracks and they were able to complete their test, only difference is they had a nice gentleman as the driver instructor. If you are going to enforce rules, ensure it is consistent between instructors and you dont have certain instructors making their own rules.

I came here for my G2 road test, I felt welcomed and had a great experience. I nailed my exam in my first attempt. I am not sure of the examiner's name but he made me feel calm and gave proper instructions of what needs to be done

Absolutely terrible experience with pembroke drive test centre. When arriving we witnessed the lady turn away 5 different people who had road tests today. People who have driven 3 hours for a G test such as myself. Times are tough right now and you can’t book close to home. When you book you have no choice but to choose places 3 hours away, so I did as I need my G licence for work. They are super unorganized. They are super super slow to do your test. The lady that did my test was an older lady. She had absolutely no sympathy over the fact this was the only G test I could get unless I wanted to wait years. If you travel from out of town to go there to do your test it’s almost guaranteed you’ll fail as myself and 5 other people witnessed today. The lady I had made me go on the highway and right after I exited on the busy road right off the exit made me do a 3 point turn, also on the way back on the main road where the test is that is also very busy she made me stop traffic to do a parallel park. A car drove by me and yelled “you can’t do that” but this is what she instructed me to do. She also told me I did not check my mirrors enough which I checked every 10 seconds completely turning my head. Also when you merge onto the highway you’re almost expected to just gun it and take no precaution apparently. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very good experience. My examiner made me aware of all the guidelines will in advance. The instructions were clear and the examiner also explained me very well. Thank you everyone at DriveTest.
26 September 2021 20:33
They're doing they're best to move things along with covid, but failing someone for not having their mask on while waiting 45min in the heat is silly.
26 September 2021 10:03
Legit the slowest and worst run drive test centre I've been to. "Abandon hope all ye who enter"
22 September 2021 21:48
Very positive experience. Friendly staff. Lots of respect for drive testers especially during covid. My son got his G2 today and received helpful pointers for future driving.
16 September 2021 18:04
The drive test locations staff is very courteous and empathetic. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for them. Special thanks to Dennis. I felt really comfortable giving my test with him
16 September 2021 16:48
Absolutely incompetence! Made mistakes critical to my livelihood and then blatantly lied about it even though I had proof of their lying. Went to another jurisdiction and had mistakes corrected, but cost me hundreds to rectify.
10 September 2021 7:32
Everyone working here is extremely rude, the woman I talked to yelled at me our entire conversation and closed the gate infront of the door at 4: 30 (it closes at 5) while we were still talking.they will do anything to avoid doing their jobs
27 August 2021 11:41
I came here for my G test and had a great experience, I was tested by examiner #395.
I recommend arriving to line up an hour early. Even if you are asked to leave and return in30 mins it shows you tried. I had difficulty with the computer registers too upon returning and I believe it was less annoying for the workers because they had known I had been early.

Things happen, being polite and thoughtful to the workers probably goes a long way, they’re way overworked.

Nearby there’s a little corner park by a bridge. If you walk down the slope there’s a lovely stream that is calming for the nerves of you need a place to shake off some of the anxiety, just don’t be late returning!

What the actual hell. We have rescheduled our road test all year and all last year. The automatic system booked us for September finally only to find out it actually didn't go into the system properly. Now we are booking into our third year 2022 sometime. We paid a 45$ fee to find us an earlier spot. They happily took the money, charged the credit card and emailed us saying there are no tests available.

In spite of the province's third 'shutdown', DriveTest offices remain open this time around but, are not able to book any actual driving/road test until further. The staff in Pembroke are very friendly, helpful, and eager to assist and answer questions you have. As an added bonus, don't worry about your conversation with the staff being interrupted by the phone, as their new phone system apparently no longer routes incoming calls to the branch offices. Hopefully, this office will be back to normal soon and driving down life's highway sooner than later.

Very polite staff. Great driving instructor. I passed my G2 test. Was no wait my test actually started a few minutes before my scheduled appointment.
20 January 2021 18:19
Does not take too much time, the instructor is great. Moreover, the two ladies at the front desk are super nice. Definitely recommend this place, especially if some one is from ottawa, Staff is great as compared to the walkley and canotek

I travel from Ottawa to Pembroke for my G1 exam because some of my friends went for G1 exam In Ottawa drive centre and have to wait in line for 4-5 hours, One of my friend going for G2 drive test in Pembroke town and I decided to go with him for my G1 and I literally have to wait for 5 min and by the time my friends finishes the G2 test, I am done with mine as well. Staff were friendly and helpful.

During the busy Covid situations, Pembroke drive centre is the best choice if you don’t want struggle in line for hours.

WARNING!
I drove from Belleville all the way for 6 hours round trip to get my G road test completed unfortunately I encountered #395 and she failed Me. I should have read the reviews before I booked. I've had my License for my for the majority of my life and I'm 40 years old have held a DZ for 8 years with no collisions. All I trying to say is DO NOT Go there ; especially if You are from out of Town.lol what a money grab.

The driving instructor failed me because when I was getting out of a spot on the side of the road she thought that I wouldn't have room to turn back out withouth hitting the car infront of me. (Assumption) I understand that the instructor is trained in the rules of the road, but what she avoided to notice was the small hood on my Honda element. The car has sharp steering and the hood in front isn't big at all. So I knew I could make it based on experience with that car (not every car could pull it off as easy). Then we did nothing but stop signs afterwards then came back and failed me without explaining beyond that I rolled a bit on one stop sign, and that she "thought" I was going to hit the car infront of me even though I knew exactly what I was doing. She was clearly in a bad mood that day and that cost me something I was well prepared for over the last two years of driving. Just avoid this specific centre as my instructor failed 3 people in a row before doing the same to me. I admit I made one minor mistakes on the road, but none worthy of losing the chance to get my g2. Avoid Pembroke. Don't risk it, go somewhere else with reasonable instructors. Im only saying this as a warning. As my opportunity has already been taken away. There are many drive test locations around, and its worth going somewhere else to pass.

Following her instruction, I checked back each day for about 3 days when I saw that somebody had cancelled their test on June 25. I tried selecting the date and time that the cancellation was listed for, only to have the entire system crash on me. A message popped up saying "the time slot you have selected is unavailable, please select another time". Figuring that maybe somebody else had clicked that time a little faster than I had, I tried to go back and look for other available slots. But then the website logged me out completely. I tried to log back in under the "edit an existing test" heading to have the website tell me "no appointment found, please try again later". So I attempted logging in under the "book a road test" heading to receive a message saying "you are not eligible to book a test of this class". I started getting very concerned that my pre-existing appointment time might have been lost somewhere in cyberspace because the system wouldn't allow me to even log in anymore. I tried logging in under either heading probably another 15 times, I tried refreshing the page, I tried exiting the page completely, I even tried turning my computer off and on again. With no success, I decided to call the help numbers listed on the site, just to confirm that I would still have my appointment on July 18. I called both of the numbers listed on the website, went through the whole process of inputting my information into the system, only for THEIR computer to tell me that "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please wait while we transfer your call". I was hoping to speak to a real human being to explain the situation to them, but was just told that "All of our representatives are currently busy. Please call back later or try calling the other number for help. " and I was not given the option to be put on hold to speak with one of them. Both phone numbers were the exact same story. In a last-ditch attempt to do SOMETHING, I tried logging in on my computer one more time, which was finally successful. I was able to reschedule my appointment to the time on June 25 that I had originally been trying to book, after almost an hour of issues.

I took my second G2 test today, and failed again. This time I KNEW I failed because the examiner yelled at me. I still disagree with her reasoning for failing me, but I knew that she would tell me I failed for the thing she yelled at me for. She told me to turn right at the lights- which were green. I pulled up to the lights and stopped with the car positioned slightly to the right so I would be able to make my turn once the pedestrian on the crosswalk was out of the way. She started yelling at me "Stop! STOP THERE'S A PEDESTRIAN! " sounding completely horrified and disgusted with me, even though I was at a complete stop, safely behind the white line on my side of the intersection. I was stopped when she started yelling, and I told her that I was just positioning for my turn. But apparently, having the wheel slanted 7 degrees to the right while at a complete stop at the intersection was enough to fail me, because "I would have hit the pedestrian". I do not feel that this woman had reason enough to fail me on either of my G2 tests, however, I especially feel that this one was plain unfair. This happened early on in my test, which made me so frustrated and anxious while completing the rest of my test that I knew I wasn't on my A-game. It just felt like punishment to be made to finish the test with this woman after being yelled at and treated like an imbecile.

I will not be coming back to this DriveTest centre again because I am fed up with the number of issues I've had here. I am seriously upset by the behaviour of my examiner during my tests, and with the problems I've had just getting my appointments booked. Whether the technical issues were the fault of the website or this specific DriveTest centre, I'm not entirely sure, but I refuse to return here. I will be going to Renfrew to take my next test so that I don't have to experience this woman ever again.

I don't recommend taking your road test here AT ALL. I passed my G1 here with absolutely no issues, and most of the staff in the office are very kind and understanding. However, I've had a multitude of issues with my G2 test here, and the examiner I had was very rude and seemed unreasonable.

The first time I took my G2 here I failed, which I was somewhat surprised by. I don't think I am a perfect driver, and my driving that day wasn't my best, (probably because I was nervous and the lady didn't give me much warning before giving me directions) but I still felt that my driving had been safe and reasonable. My parallel park was a little far out from the curb because the person I was using as a reference was also far from the curb. That was the main complaint I was expecting her to have for me. However, when she told me that I had failed, she said that the reason I failed was because one of my turns was "too slow, so the person behind me had to slow down". That was her only explanation for failing me, and then she left.

Disappointed and confused, I decided to book my test again for a few weeks later. I booked online and had to pay the $52.50 fee to redo my G2. My mother let me use her credit card to make the payment so that I could write the test again, and the screen showed up saying "payment successful" and then "you have successfully booked your appointment". So I figured all was well. I went in on the date that I had scheduled online (June 19), and they had no record of my appointment. Upon further investigation, they said that the payment had initially gone through, but then had been re-deposited into my mother's bank account, so my appointment got cancelled. So, after this I had to pay the fee and reschedule my test AGAIN, and the nearest slot was an entire month later (July 18). The woman at the counter told me to check the website daily to see if any cancellations showed up earlier than my appointment time.
