It was worst experience ever, I was there for G1 and lady over there talk with me very rudely, she harassed me literally.

Horrible women. Told my kid to get out and didn't even let him do the test because he was nervous and had a hard time starting the car. Must make you feel great to intimidate kids.

I took the G test today and I had a wonderful instructor named Mike. Mike was calm, clear, and concise on his instructions and expectations. Overall, it was a great experience completing the G test with Mike.

Very rude service, the old lady in the counter looks so miserable and doesn’t wanna be there.

Feels some sort of discrimination going on the this place. Very rude reception. Please pay attention relevant authorities.

About a month ago I had my G road test I had a instructor name Giselle or smt and she had a trainee with her during the test it felt like she was doing everything in her power to make a 18 year old kid nervous she yelled gave late directions and so on and in the end I failed she informed me that I asked her to many questions (I asked one time if she could repeat something) and when I asked what else she informed me that I failed and that was the end of it she also told me I had 38 errors considering I passed my g2 first try it baffled me then today about 3 weeks later I had it again expect a different tester blonde hair lady and she was awesome she made me feel less nervous by talking about dogs and she was calm never raised her voice and so on at the end of the test I passed with one error I didn’t do anything different I did on the first test and passed with 1 error compared to 38 I consider myself an ok driver but the first tester was god awful do better dmv

I won’t lie, I was super nervous going into the test for my G license, but I got lucky and had a nice lady named Giselle. She made me feel comfortable, and not stressed. As long as you follow her directions, everything will be good! Thank you!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this place, these instructors will make u fail without hesitation and remorse their job is to mainly make you fail and it makes them happy but not you happy by taking your hard work money into trying to pass

Terrible computers that crash, all the tests are on computer, tests don’t display properly, questions don’t ask about information regarding the type of license you are trying to get. Staff will not help you if there are troubleshooting problems, they give you attitude if you ask for help with computer errors and they’ll turn you away. No power backups are available, if the power gets knocked out. I tried to be patient with all these problems happening all at once. The only choices I have is come back another day if I want to get a m1 license, do it again and hope that the questions are properly there are are written right and the computer doesn’t crash on me while I’m doing my test.

Does Giselle still work there? She was absolutely the worst human my relative has ever interacted with and I tell everyone to avoid Drive Test due to her

I recently moved to Thunder Bay and had to take the G test here before it expired this year. My test was delayed about 30 min and I guess they are short on instructors but I passed on my first attempt. Fortunately, I had Isabelle as my instructor and she was fantastic. All through the exam she was calm and gave clear instructions way before I had to make any turns. She even gave me tips on the road after the exam was over. Thank you Isabelle.

Examiner I had was rude, in a way she didn't have to say anything specific, it was in her attitude and the way she held herself and talked to me. It felt like she enjoyed making me nervous. She's the type of person whose small amount of authority has gone to her head. I'll be driving 7 hours for my next drive test to avoid having to deal with her again. With all the negative reviews this lady has you'd think drive test would notice and do something.

I've heard so many negative stories about this test centre especially the racism vibes from certain workers. For me I felt rushed in the beginning, I'm trying to get my seatbelt on while the instructor is waving his hand and saying com'on repeatedly. During the test he's biting his nails and cracking his knuckles. Everytime I'm checking my mirrors or blindspots he's looking the other way.

A joke. Get there over an hour early to write a drivers test renewal. Wait in line for ages and they still turn you away at 4: 10 because that's not enough time for them to process it.

Dear Reader, I understand you're nervous after reading majority of the reviews posted here. Focus on meeting the ministry standards, and not on disgruntled reviews. I completed my G road test today and passed in the first try. My examiner was Isabelle; she was professional, courteous, and considerate. Control what you can: follow speed limits, be patient, be mindful when changing lanes and merging onto highway, and continue to check your mirrors, and last by not least, always look ahead on your path. Many individuals are playing a race card, that is not the case here at this location. I was greeted well by a male receptionist and the examiner, and was spoken to in a respectful manner. This review is for you to have a better perspective. Hope this helps and good luck with your test!

Drive test is nothing but a money grab. They have nearly no employees that like their job, therefore all miserable. Almost every person in this city has had a problem with personalities and outright failing for no good reason. How people that take driving school fail on 1 thing is beyond me. 10/10 would recommend not going in thunder bay. They will just fail you so you have to pay again. Also not telling a driver your name so they can complain is pathetic. Got your ID number though.

If u have brown or black skin, make sure you choose a different test centre than Thunder Bay, there is an old lady who make u fail unreasonably. Feels like she is a super racist. All my friends who got this lady has the similar experience (it’s obvious from other reviews on this page) Seems like management has zero interest taking action against her as she contributes more towards generating more income. Sick minded people

Giselle was super rude after I told her I was nervous about the test, she failed me for not signalling before I checked my blind spots… pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

First of all, learn how to be polite and it doesn't cost much. An extremely rude, verbally aggressive and discriminative experience happened. Just remember one thing - new drivers will always be nervous / stressful in their first test. You should have balls to show some wisdom, sense and maturity to behave properly.

This instructor makes first timers feel depressed, lose morals. Falsely advising student to make illegal turns on last minute. Constantly yells loudly in car and never repeats if unheard properly.

Knocking windows, making gestures while driving, last minute should make sharp turns, This is not professional behaviour that should be displayed by the instructor during a test. Driving is a life-long learning experience. No one advices you to provide a pass or fail on the first attempt, but learn how to be disciplined and polite.

Furthermore, if said something, the examiner will say not to choose this instructor from next time onwards. Remember, test takers are not provided with an option to choose their instructors, but this instructor is out of league and doesn't have any tongue control.

This instructor fails students falsely.

I encourage every person who has in the past experienced the same attitude/ behaviour shall be reported.

Very fuzz command, make me fail the exam, I think they make people fail on purpose. The explain to cut my point is far fetched.

Isabella was my instructor. She nade me feel really comfortable. Kudos to her for explaining me what could be improved n being so calm. Passed the exam

I have a few questions for Giselle.
* What pleasure do you get from failing some people on their drivers test for no reason?
* What portion of the drive test fee is going into your pocket?

Leaving two stars here and here’s why. Let’s start with Jesselle. Absolutely rude instructor and needs to be let go. I had here for my G2. Very unprofessional and started yelling at me when I asked her a very simple question that I wasn’t sure about. What does she get from failing students and give them the worst experience? !
5 stars if not thousands stars for my examiner Charllote! Very professional and friendly. Good vibes as soon as she gets in the car with you and she makes sure her student is calm and well adjusted. Thank you Charlotte for making this a wonderful experience!

I really think they should hire driving testers that can speak English fluently. One particular man who seems to want to fail everyone from what I've heard, and yet he is very hard to understand. My daughter took her G test today, the man who was testing her said that she did everything good, but she looked at her blind spot at the wrong time. She told him she did look at the right time and she did it twice. He failed her because of looking at the wrong time. I've heard this man failing people on minor issues like this. She told me she couldn't even understand what he was saying for the most part. This is wrong on so many levels.

There's a woman there that will nit pick every little thing and make up her own rules just to fail you. You can drive absolutely perfectly fine with zero errors and she will make stuff up just to make you pay for another test.

Had negative experience, my friends had a bad experience too. This is the worst drive test center I have come across. The staff is do racist you need to hair ppl that are kind and not yell at students it's a disaster. I drove to fort Frances to get my g license and had no trouble the staff were so welcoming, and zero racism but the Thunder Bay drive test your staff is a huge disaster and need to be changed

I want to express my disagreement and concern regarding the driving examiners of this company on the day of my scheduling I was impressed that all the people who attended the driving test failed the exam by taking it again and making payment again, I had learned that it is very common for this company to pressure its drivers not to pass the driving, and having to attend a new test again, pay again to be able to perform the test, on the day I attended I was impressed because the examiner took details without rationality reproving me, such as blind spot review, when I do it the manifest that it is not so, it is his word against mine, many people who have attended this company complain because they report that they have a business, report that in order to pass the exam you have to go to a driving school. Also people with a lot of experience, immigrants, residents and Canadian nationals express that the situation is worrying because they do not trust the personnel who perform the driving tests are aggressive people and only they expose that they are right, it would be good for the entities that supervise them to follow up on this company and employees to review their actions and collections in order to end the corruption they have.

Gizzelle (examiner 432) is just a horrible person. Such a rude and incompetent woman! Failed me for going 2 km over speed limit and she was outright disrespectful! Slammed the doors on my car when she left and she did not even try to explain properly what went wrong with my driving. She also kept shouting which made me nervous Just a waste of my time and money. I’d rather they tell me I fail without even taking the test. Such an unpleasant experience.
Don’t listen to the other reviews praising her. You can save a lot of time and money if you book a test at fort Frances or Dryden instead
You also won’t have to deal with that lady.

Giselle is very unprofessional and quite rude with the drivers. I know its not only me because she has failed my sisters aswell and so many others judging from these reviews. Drive Test needs to let her go because it is disgusting the way she acts towards people. Even if someone messes up their is no reason for her to be snotty and disrespectful towards them. At the beginning of my test i said sorry im nervous as i took a few breaths and she had the audacity to tell me that i shouldnt be.

Wish there was an option to give no stars.
You guys really need to hire some humans there. I’ve checked on the website and every other drive test centre except this one is fully booked. No one even wants to go here because of your instructors.
Especially replace that lady that yells while driving. If not we will have to come up with proof that she is intentionally failing people.
Also the G test costs around 100$ and if she fails 25 people a day that’s like 2500$ a day.
Totally not fair.

I did my G driving license this morning and my driving examiner Carmen was very kind, friendly and professional. I was extremely nervous about the negative reviews online but feel the drive test was up to standard and fair. My advice is to practice safe driving, follow the rules and be confident.

Gave G1 test today. I showed them my Driving license from another country with 5 years of experience and DL extract too. They said it doesn't appear in their system. What kind of system do you use? This happened with my friend too.
They only considered 1 year of driving experience though I have 5 years of experience.

Took G2 test today I had a guy examiner very nice and friendly and helps calm you down super nice dude I’ve never had a problem here everyone is nice and my examiner was an awesome guy. 5 stars to the place.

Why can't actual Canadians who were born here be the instructors? The east Indian dude didn't even tell me what I did wrong and he just failed me. After the 3rd sigh I threw in the towel. Very unpleasant experience.

I was beyond nervous, anxiety through the roof! The tester Giselle was so kind, sweet and calm. She even pointed out up-coming pot holes so I wouldn’t destroy my car. Can’t thank her enough for being so understanding about my insane nervousness to tests.

I cleared my G2 test in first attempt! My experience was amazing! I was greeted by a gentle man- Mike in blue uniform upon entry- he was there to guide customers entering the center- whether to wait inside or outside. Mike helped me with printing the slip for G2. He seemed very patient and
helpful to all the customers entering the center. After my test when I went back inside to get my paperwork, he asked me how I did and congratulated me!
Drive test examiner: All my friends previously had extremely horrible experience with one particular lady but I had this wonderful lady, I believe she is new, she had glasses, I don't remember her name- Sharon or Charlotte? She read all the rules and regulations on her iPad before starting the test. It was really helpful! I felt very comfortable and confident! She was friendly but firm at the same time. She gave clear timely instructions while driving with hand gestures for directions. She did not distract or yell at me, rather she was calm, poised and spoke wherever needed in a positive manner. After the test she said I passed and discussed the points where I can improve. She congratulated me and wished me luck for future. I could tell she was happy for me! We need more examiners like her in Thunder Bay!

Had a G test today. 2nd attempt. Not sure about the name of the instructor but would definitely like to point out the experience and also have my own doubts. 1) was trying to merge in the highway in my test and slowed down to check for safe merging. She says this and I quote, ” You are not allowed to slow down while merging, the board says 90km/hr and in the merging lane you should be 90km/hr. You can’t stop even if there are vehicles coming from the signal. They are supposed to change lanes and give you the way. You aren’t supposed to slow down. ” Not sure why we have the yield sign on the arc then?
2) while exiting the highway, she poked my hand while i was trying to check for a safe way. Again pointing out to the speed sign which said 70km/hr. She quotes while poking my hand, ” you shouldn’t slow down, not even below 60km/hr while exiting. ”
3) while trying to take a right turn on 50km/hr city road i slowed down obviously to 25-30km/hr considering the snow and ice. She again quotes, or i would say shouts, ” Go, Go, Go.you aren’t supposed to slow down. Might get hit by someone in the back. ”
4) while exiting the drive test i was trying to make sure i am all safe to make a right turn but she kept bugging me about how I shouldn’t take this long to take a turn.

Must say one thing, i have given my G2 at this location and G once. So the 3 stars are for those instructors before this one. But this time whoever that was, it wasn’t a test. Whatever you were doing it wasn’t a freaking test. People put a lot of effort, money and time in taking a test. For god’s sake please keep it fair. And keep your attitude at home.

My experience at drive test was fair and even enlightening to my abilities as a new driver. I appreciated the advice my examiner Giselle gave me to ensure my focus was on her primary goal, and that is to make us all safe conscious drivers. It's good to know they care about all our safety.

Very friendly. And service was quickly (which I thought I'd be waiting in line for awhile due to the line-up, but the took care of the customers at a fast pace and would get more workers to open up to help others if the customer was taking more time than usual) when I wrote the G1 test and was unsuccessful he worker came and gave me a quick drivers knowledge on the areas I have failed and gave me another spot to write it again and passed after the second attempt. Id give them a thumbs up. I even told my friends and family about my excellent experience I received while I was at DriveTest.

I had my DZ drive test today. My examiner was Gisele, I am going to give you the straight goods about my experience. First I will start by saying she was fantastic!
She was patient and my me feel quite comfortable.
I think she expects people to show up prepared for their test.
I was quite nervous at first, but she put me at ease almost right away.
I was very happy with her helpfulness and calm manner. Thanks again to Gisele, Luisa, and Isabelle!

Wrote my G1 test, the lovely woman at the counter was super helpful, friendly, and very speedy. Had no issues during my experience at all, I highly recommend

The staff is too rude and the website cant do anything, being someone from a foreign country I find it very dissapointing

Did Gisele pay people to write these positive reviews? I'd heard of her before today to the extent that everyone I know who has ever had a drive test prays beforehand "I hope I don't get the woman tester". Well, out stepped Gisele with faux pleasantries to take my 17-year-old daughter for her G2. She found masks in the car (my husband keeps spare masks - these were all unused) and a napkin in the back so she stated the car was "dirty" and she couldn't do it but she would be generous and only charge us half price to rebook (months from now, obviously, because the centre just reopened). My girl was in tears, but unlike others who probably just leave dejectedly, I went inside to lodge a complaint. A lovely woman, a manager, I presume, came out and did the drive test with my girl. I do not know the outcome as I am writing this review from the parking lot, but I'm giving this centre a 3 because this person was nice and kind and turned the day around, regardless of whether my daughter passes or fails.

Given that I've heard innumerable bad things about Gisele, her noted history of yelling (which is unsafe, creating anxiety in drivers), and her overall abusiveness, I'm surprised they continue to employ her.

If I could give 0 stars I would do it the lady who works there is extremely rude, I have been there twice and I cry every time I go outside because how bad they treat you, horrible service
