My husband had the most harrowing experience today with this centre. They’d assigned him a Caucasian woman for his G license test. She arrived before time and ever since she came in, she was very much in a hurry. She muttered her name, and when my husband asked her to repeat it, she did not. During the course of the test, as they were crossing a signal, after my husband crossed the zebra crossing, the light turned yellow. To this, the lady very rudely said you just broke the signal. My husband stated he crossed the signal when it was still green, but she did not respond. At DVP, she told him to change lane on the left when it is safe to do so. There was a truck on their left, a car ahead and a car behind them. All of them were at the same speed. In 2 mins she screamed loudly, saying no need to take the left anymore, since you didn’t change the lane. My husband pointed it out to her that it wasn’t safe to change the lane then. She argued saying he should’ve slowed down. But clearly, if he had, the car behind them would’ve rammed into them. Finally, she cut short the test and told him that she’s failing him. In the report, she’s written that she failed him because he oversped (which is not true. For a 50 kmph sign he was at 47), broke the traffic laws (again not true as he crossed the signal while it was green) and did not change lanes on DVP while there was no traffic (again a lie, there was a lot of traffic. It was 10 am on a Friday at DVP. Of course there’s traffic!)
My husband, throughout the process was a thorough gentleman and did not respond to her impolitely. She, on the contrary walked away, while clearly lying.
This was a clear incident of racism. Your test centre should have a way of keeping a check on the examiners you send in. The service is awful and your test centre will get out of these incidents without any measures being taken behind racist and lying individuals. You guys have employed a bunch of racist folks here. This is not an angry rant from a disgruntled person who just wants to get back at you because you didn’t give us the license. It’s an honest account of what happened and you have to look into it.

Everything went super smooth and the front desk was super friendly. Service has improved significantly since I visited last year, no more long queue outside in the cold. I went in to submit oversea driving experience on Saturday. Scanned the QR from home at 8.25am and I was 104th in line (online queue opens some 15mins before opening time). 9.30am I received message that I was 20 mins away, drove to the center, had time to grab a Starbucks, served at 10.25am, everything was done by 10.30am before I finished my hot choc.

Worst place for doing any driving test (NEVER recommending this place to anyone) Examiners are super picky and disrespectful and each one of them have their own style for examining you! Supervisor (especially) super disrespectful, and unprofessional as she doesn’t refer any problem solution and her customer service is BELOW 0 since she won’t even give a good solution instead she argues back instead of bringing a solution
for unsatisfied customer. I was a unsatisfied customer since I was considering my results unfair since Im driving a tesla which have a sensitive sensors all around the car! Long story short I was angry and unsatisfied but at the same time she wasn’t helping me AT ALL and she was strictly ignoring my complains!
I would recommend if you have a good car never do your test with it since most of them wants to fail u to get another payment for each exam.

Please dont mind all the negative reviews for G1 knowledge tests. As its very tough for the staff to take in so many applicants daily and its very helpful that they introduced qr code, which lets you join the virtual queue and based on the virtual queue you can plan when you should drop in at the drive test centre. The Qr code is posted some amazing reviewer down below so please scroll through and scan it like i did while i was still at home. Staff have been courteous and focused from what i observed today.

I wish I could give 0 star. The wicket employees were so helpful and fantastic. However the security was super rude and not helpful. My brother had his g1 test done on Dec 1 at 1.30 pm. The staff asked everyone else out. So I went out with my own and my brothers stuff. I was looking for some place to put everything in one bag and put on my winter jacket. So I reached to a chair to leave my stuff on and wear my winter jacket. The security person, an older person with glassed yelled at me and told me that I do not have common sense since it is a construction zone. I asked him multiple times where I can sit or leave my stuff on and he aggressively repeated himself. So rude.

They canceled my road test appointment (3 hours before) in last minutes without reason. I had to take off for road test then now have to wait at least till March for next appointment. Terrible service. I tried to contact but no response

Got here at the beginning. Three hours later still standing outside- it’s a joke. Support teams are running supplies to their families waiting in line. People bring chairs to wait. They are all the same. FIRE the Transport Minister responsible
for this or have a different line for people who pay tax.

The daily lineup of young people for Drive Test stretches right across the car park EVERY day in all weather. Also the entire Victoria Terrace car park and sidewalks are under HEAVY construction. AVOID unless absolutely necessary.

They are literally the worst. I’ve had multiple encounters now for myself and my family’s DL requirements and this branch runs on their own set of rules and regulations. If there was a zero star option, I would have gone for that!

Very disappointed waited for 3 hours and the close the center at 6.36 sent every one away. This is ongoing issue and insane. Security is explaining that you can come another day if you couldn't make it then another day, that's crazy, also guy said that we have to go and complain to the MTO.

It's just a matter of extra space and few extra computers they making it seem like something they making people suffer leaving all there work wasting time and standing in the line for whole day

Following the advice of other reviewers, I lined up at 6 AM on Friday morning and was part of the first group of ten admitted at 7. It was a bit of a wait after that as there were only two windows open, but everyone working was pleasant and competent. Got out the door with my G1 test finished by 8 AM.

Please DO NOT test here! It has a bad reputation, and if you get an examiner named Tony, you will fail. Out of 10 drivers he only passed one, and has a record for yelling and shouting at drivers. He made extremely rude remarks, such as asking whether I was from 'here' or not (without context it is extremely racist). He has no concern for safety and instructed me to switch lanes IN BUSY TRAFFIC, very close proximity to other cars.
If you try to push the gas a little to safely maneuver the car into the adjacent lane, he will mark it down as 'speeding'. PLEASE do not test here, I have talked to the manager and she has no concern for the examiner's behavior, even when bringing up past complaints. These people just turn a blind eye and take your money.

I wish i could give zero star for the bad experience i had. How can people be so rude. Staffs are suppose to direct and help people but there rude tone was really at a next level and makes you feel low which might cause you to ruin your exam because of anger.

We came around 11: 30 AM for Drive Knowledge test and we had about 200 people already lined up ahead of us.

At 13 there were about 200 people behind us.

So almost after 5hours drained out of our weekend time one of the staffs said there is only 5 tickets and you have to go home!

They could control the situation 4 or 5 hours before.
After my protest to that we should informed 4or 5 hour before the impolite staff said this is your responsibility not ours and you have to be here before 7 am! Was that my answer?
You should inform people.it is your responsibility and your job.what are you doing there? Why are you there for?
To see people in the cold rain?

Hope the manager takes notice and show he/she cares!

I failed my G test today because of Tony the rude examiner. After completing signal and honk test he sat inside the car and told me to step outside the car so that he can see my face without mask (I was the only one who was told to step out, super rude). My instructor was standing outside looking perplexed at the examiner's behavior. Tony noticed that and started a staring contest with my instructor. Once the test started he was constantly huffing and puffing and making me uncomfortable and one the expressway while changing lanes another driver cut me off and he marked that as dangerous action and failed me. Also in don valley parkway the cars are going 60 kmph and Tony's response was "watch your speed you are doing 60 on a 90". What am i supposed to do? Fly over other cars? Took the score sheet once im inside and I found out that he marked "Blind spot" multiple times. He wasn't even looking at me during the test (covering his face with his left hand as though bored). The most passive aggressive guy ever. I wonder how he is still employed here. If Tony is your examiner it's best to cancel the road test. At least you only lose money and not your day.

In and out in 2hrs or so.

I was here today to write G1 knowledge test and it went pretty well and smoothly.

I arrived at around 6: 23 am and after 40 minutes of waiting outside in the cold, I was called to get in. I was number 13 in line; they were calling groups of 10 people at a time to get inside. While inside everything was relatively organized and after about 35 min I finally managed to sit behind a computer and finish the test.

The test itself was easy and if you have done practice tests before, these are quite similar.

A few tips for when you are in the line:

- Come as early as possible. The center opens at 7: 00 but try to be there before 6: 30.
- Check the weather and be prepared.
- Bring water and something to eat.
- Bring Headphones.

Note: If you are bringing translated docs, make sure they were translated in Ontario or they might not be accept it.

Went on a Thursday Morning. Reached by 5: 55am. Was 8th in line. They opened doors by 7: 30am and allowed 8-10 persons at a time. I was done with my G1 test by 8am (ofcourse aced it). There were 3 kiosks in operation. Atleast for me it was a smooth operation. My advice would be to reach by 6am else the waiting times just starts increasing because when i came out of the Drive test center at 8am and saw the line up, I understood why somany have complained on the waiting times. In addition, I did ask about driving extracts (for applicants who want to show driving experience), generally the expiration is 6months from date of issue but because of COVID they are accepting extracts issued more than 6 months but dont push your luck with a 10month old extract.

Came early at 6: 20 and there were already dozens people queuing, but the line moves pretty fast! The staff were really friendly and helpful, kept social distancing in check. I just wish that there would be a separate queue for things that might take quicker time processing instead of queuing again from the start. But all in all, great and friendly experience.

I came at 6: 25 Am and there was 28 people ahead of me. I got into the building at 7: 30 Am. Once inside the building, I had to wait for 1 hour, because they were very understaffed. Not sure why if they know how long the lines are. And they are really long. The staff was very pleasant and friendly though. It really pays to come before they open because the line grows really fast. I was all done by 9: 05.

It was a long line, seemed almost like it was going to be an all day waiting.but it went quick, the staff are very professional & they do a great job moving people through & out of there.

Had my G-License road test today. Parked my car at one of the numbered park allotted for road test at the rear of the building. There place was not crowded as i entered through the back gate for my road test registration. I had reached the test centre exactly 30 mins prior to the appointment. Got the slip from the kiosk and waited patiently at my car. The examiner arrived on time for and the route taken was the same as the one available on Youtube. The examiner was polite throughout the test and unlike several reviews, i found the centre staff very polite and approachable. I was able to clear my test today and very happy with the overall experience here.

Worst drive instructions lady ever. This Asian lady was behind rude. While I’m driving I didn’t understand what she asks for and I nicely asked her to repeat her self and she start screaming and being so rude. It made me feel so uncomfortable that I didn’t want to continue the drive anymore. I was driving pick up truck so when you turn ur neck 90% you’ll be able to see the whole blind spot because of the big space of the window. The lady then comes and tell me I don’t check my blind spot. Like can’t you see my whole head is moving? My neck the next day was so sore due to turning all the way. I also made report to her supervisor. Once was more rude than the other. This place is truly fraud and scam. They will fail you no matter even if you prefect driving experience. My apologies to even give one star if there was option I’ll probably give below star.

They every time telling system is down or slow very relaxed working staffs keeping people's outside for hours they going inside
and comes outside with new excuses.
Very lazy peoples don't use even their wash room oh my god washroom's in developing countries are better. If you see washrooms you will not eat for days yukky.
Covid -19 can prevent from social distancing what about unhygienic.

Waiting 7 hours in the line outside. Got inside to see only 4 kiosks being operated, out of the possible 11. All th reviews for there talk about the long wait. Maybe they should open all the kiosks, or implement an appointment system. This is ridiculous

I waited an hour and a half, only for the instructor to show up at the exact moment I took off my mask to blow my nose and forget to put it back on minutes before and put me on the bottom of the list. When I explained I couldn't stay because I was a) upset and b) late for another appointment (that I ended up having to cancel because it was so late) they refused to reschedule me. The staff were nice and literally they did nothing wrong but this is the stupidest policy I've ever dealt with, how are they unable to foresee traffic in Toronto or in order to alert the drivers in advance that wait times might be long. And how do drivers lose their deposit after an hour and a half wait, any other respectable service would waive the fee for a reschedule if anyone was waiting that long. I will never go back to this location and when I get my G I hope to never in my life ever have to interact with this horrible service provider ever again.

That’s insane …

We finished around 10: 40. So almost 4 hours drained out of our weekend time. And we paid full Tax and charges …?

Staff did well managing the lines and kept it going as well… so kudos to them.

What is the government doing to address this at all? Sleeping/ Ignorant?

That’s bad governance…. Simply put!

The review is about whoever is governing these tests …. Not for the location itself.

Hope the premier takes notice and show he cares!

Horrible road test center, stay away of this center. My examiner was an actor not examiner. Just played a role to irritate me during the test and did not complete the test and said you do not drive safe enough to continue the test. Literally, I am driving for 20 years without annnnny accident. Just choose other centers please.

The service is very good at this center that I myself experienced when I took the G1 test yesterday, on 19th January, 2021.
I arrived at the center at 9AM. I didn't have to take in lines as I heard (because there were only few persons). When I finished everything and stepped out of the center it was 10AM. I felt GREAT about everything!

I have received My G1 driver’s license 2 weeks later ️️

Excellent service, very friendly stuff. Went there around noon on a Wednesday, got my Indian driver's license and DL extract checked (I was nervous because of reviews saying they may deny the DL extract). But no hassle, within around 15 minutes, G1 test passed (g1.ca membership helped a lot). Loved it!

Everytime I try calling this centre nobody picks up! All I'm trying to figure out is a simple question that doesn't say anything online. My G2 expires today, I haven't booked my G road test yet, will I have it extended still? It only says it'll be extended if already booked. Doesn't say anything if not already booked. Someone please help me.

Although there is a huge line, the customer service is good and worthy! ’ If you would like to proceed faster you may come to the early morning. Working hours are: 7: 00am-7: 30 pm Mon-fri and on Saturday 8: 30am-5: 00.

Instructors are rude af specially the guy with dreadlocks in a hat. It suppose that instructors should pay attention to the driver who is taking the test not just lay down on the passenger seat. 1 instructor told me something about the first right turn exiting the mall when I got my g2 and this one told me another thing. He said I over speed nfw were you even paying attention? Yes you dreadlock guy I hope you change your job cuz clearly you are done with this one F rude. They're just taking money from us, 2 times for the g2 and now 2 times for the G I am driver since 20 years ago just make no sense to me

“I do not recommend anyone to take this examiner. He is black with a turban and a beard. Everything went smoothly and perfect until he told me at the end that he failed me because I went over the speed limit by 2 km as it was a 40 zone and I was going only 42. He is not friendly and makes you very stress when driving by the way he talks to you and his tone of voice. If you have this examiner better cancel your test beforehand. ”
Absolutely the same situation. In my case he put in his report that I was going 50 while there were 38-39 on electronic road sign! And he was very rude from very beginning.

Yeah I had that guy too for my first G2 test. He also failed me because I went over 40km by 2km in a residential area. He said we have to follow the speed limit and if I want to fight for it, then I need to talk to MTO and not him. He was so rude. My instructor saw and told me once you get him, you’ll fail because he’ll say it’s your speed unless you’re black too. Very bitter person. Avoid him at all cost!

I had nothing but good experience here. After a different location messed up the urgent scheduling of my G2 test (fishy story), the staff of Metro East was nothing but helpful. Mohammed in particular spent a lot of time and energy trying to solve this problem for me and was able to accommodate with another urgent scheduling. The test itself was with him as well and he was great.
I heard a lot of negative reviews from other people about this location and how it's 'impossible' to pass here. People, if you can't drive, that's on you, not on Metro East.

I heard these guys fail you to generate more business (private company, more tests = more money) even for no reason! And if you complain, they tear up your complaint the moment you turned your back!

*This is true*. I was failed because "I turned to get into the main road while a car is coming". The law says if it is 150 meters away, you can. It was much much further. When I told him, he said "well that is for professionals". Who told you I am not? ! And if I didn't get into the road you would tell me: "the car was far and you are impeding traffic"

From the moment the guy came into my car, I knew he wanted to fail me.he was making comments about mistakes that I MIGHT MAKE, speaking and acting fast trying to intimidate me.

Worst service I walked in to do my CVOR exam at 6: 15 the guy at the front counter gave me a number to go sit and wait to do the exam when I walk in there is only two people there and I already here him turning people away saying they are closed at 6: 20 I ask the gentleman will I be able to do my test he says wait your turn. Meanwhile he is one of the two people at the front desk and he puts on his jacket runs outsose starts his car and comes back. Now the time is 6: 40 my number gets called I go to the desk at the gentleman has the audacity to say we are closed at 6: 30pm to do tests but still tries to charge me 32.50 for the exam today, pretty much I just wasted 25 mins waiting here to do a test which could not be done and everyone there ignorantly played along to take the money. What a group of scum bags

For those who are taking their road test (G2 or G) here, read carefully: 1. Drive to the back of the building and park there. That's where they do the road tests. Don't waste your time by entering through the front side and waiting in the line like I did.
2. If your examiner is a tall Jamaican guy with a turban on his head, congratulations you've failed.
3. There is a school zone on the test route. Don't go over 40 km/h in the zone!
4. Expect to spend about 2 hours for your test.

Additional comments: This might be the worst location to take your road test as the roads here are always super busy. Cars are gonna honk at you while you are trying to stay within the speed limits. Pedestrians are gonna be everywhere. And then the school zone. I'm sure DriveTest executives get dollar signs on their eyes every-time they see it. I was driving at 30 km/h there, my examiner told me that I'm driving awfully slow. On my way back I was driving at 42 km/h and my examiner told me that I failed the test for going over the speed limit. Ridiculous stuff. Anyway, take your test at another DriveTest centre, further away from the city if you can. Good luck y'all.

One of the worst experiences here in Canada. One of the black guys at the counter named Leon is extremely rude and unhelpful! I guess a lot of people have been complaining about him and I hope the managers take note of it. I'm highly disappointed and frustrated.

I had a large, blond woman (Claire), who behaved appallingly during the test. She was beeping and being confrontational to anyone taking my right of way, she beeped to people backing up anywhere in range.what a maniac. She asked me to change lanes and I did when I could see the vehicle behind me in full on my rear view mirror and checked my blind spot, were I could see plenty of room, yet she pulled my wheel back telling me that I was cutting the guy off. I think the woman is a little mad. I should have asked her to exit my car at the very first sign she gave me that she wasn't all there. What is WRONG with this service? !

They failed me for making a right hand turn on a yellow light without stopping. The HTA states one only has to come to a stop before a right turn when facing a red light. If you are going to automatically fail someone at least make it valid unlike this attempt to extort more money from future tests.

What is wrong with the queuing system here? Why are those with A and C given priority? I just want to add the experience on to my record to advance to take the G test and all i can see is people who came after me getting served first. This is frustrating. 3 hours to add the info onto the system, this is worst than in a third world country where people don’t know how to queue.

The reviews on here made me terrified to take my G test at this location. I was pleasantly surprised. My examiner was kind, polite and courteous and the service staff were friendly and quick. I was in and out within 45 minutes! My test was booked for 10: 30 am, would highly recommend booking around this time.

Today I witnessed some of the poorest and most disrespectful behaviour I have ever witnessed from an employee. One of your many miserable employees when asked for help by a poor Indian woman who had her test set to the wrong language he screamed at her "just hit help, just hit help! " When she continued to try to explain that it wasn't set the language she needed he proceeded to scream, "I don't understand you lady! Next time you should bring a translator, this isn't my problem". As if this wasn't enough for this lovely gentleman he then proceeded to rush every person out the door who had any question. The way he spoke to people was disgusting and its amazing that he even has a job.

You will get what you need here, but you'll feel miserable the whole time you're there.

I've gone during mid afternoon and end of day; the lighting is an eyesore, there's a TV screen mounted to the ceiling above where people queue up for written tests that makes a terrible screeching noise (has given me migraines) that wasn't fixed between when I went in April and when I went in October, the restrooms don't seem as though they have any regular maintenance throughout the day, wait times in the evening are a joke.

They provide services without issue in my experience, but be prepared for an uncomfortable stay if you have to wait around.
