Please review my review before booking a road test
Regards to everyone,
I had a drive test today with any middle eastern old guy. I did every freakin thing as per instructions, followed all rules and regulations did not oversped turns and lane change as per instruction, like every freakin thing. The instructor failed me saying that my observation at the intersection did not met the ministry requirement. After I ask him at what point he felt it, he changed the topic to another problem saying that i did not checked my blind spot while lane changing the last time. I swear to god i checked my blind spot atleast 2 times. Before changing. After replying the same to him he tried to get out of car after failing me in test. I dont know what problem these guys have or idk what ministery pay them personally but the instructor needs some good instructions. Because their assessment is not FAIR.

I took my G test here today and had the best experience. Instructor was calm and instructions were easy to follow. 10/10 recommend for anyone wanting a place to take their road test.

Try and get another centre if you can in my opinion.
This one is dirty and busy, examiners gave me confusing instructions on my G test and failed me because the other driver came up behind me to fast on my merge, even though I made it into the lane safely before they got to close.
I’ve had my license for 5 years and I drive daily. I have to start from G1 now because my license is expired.

Waited for over a half hour for them to tell me I can’t take the test today. Extremely disappointed.

MOST RACIST INSTRUCTORS DO NOT BOOK YOUR DRIVE TEST HERE IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOUR.complain about the behaviour of the drive test instructor. The instructor was behaving rudely since the beginning of the drive test and i felt he was being biased towards me, which could be because of my race. He failed me on my drive test and have the reasoning that i made observational errors and made an unsafe lane change, which is completely false. When the instructor asked me to make a left lane change on express hi-way 400, i made sure that i have proper left indicator signal and checked my blindspot and made sure that there was enough safe distance from the vehicle in the left lane. I made the lane change successfully and safely. But the instructor failed me saying it was unsafe lane change even though i gave proper indicator, checked my blind spot and made sure it was with a safe distance. I am 100 % certain that if i would not have changed the lane, he would have failed me saying i was not confident enough. Also, i did not make any observational errors as i always checked surroundings and made sure i move my head so that the instructor knew i was doing so. I am extremely confident that of there was an unbiased instructor instead of that person, i would have passed my test.

But i was failed by him. He was going to walk away just by saying that i failed the test but i had to request him to stop and tell me why he failed me. I have been driving for almost 5 years with a clean driving record and gave my test confidently and accurately. I was shocked when he said i didn’t qualify and just tried to walk away. He was being racist towards me i could feel that as i am from south Asia.

Highly recommend for G test here, the route was quick simple and easy and the examiner Tom was also super friendly during the test duration.

Extremely rude driving instructor, yelled and cursed at my friend taking the G2 test, failed my friend for a mistake a different driver on the road made and was on his PHONE while he took his test.so unprofessional.left my friend confused and upset.waste of money.

The people working there are amazing. So patient. 4 stars only bc the space is too small for the volume of people it serves.

If you get Jackie (tattoo lady with deep voice) as your instructor, you will fail by default. She grabbed the steering wheel and yelled even though there was no issue! She was extremely rude and failed for nothing! Find another job!

I got my G2 here (after having a really bad experience at the Newmarket location). On December 28, I completed my G exam with Tom. He was early (my appointment was at 9: 19 am, and he came a few minutes earlier. I was so impressed because so many negative comments about people waiting! I didn't wait a single minute. The sign in process is very clear, you walk in, go to the kiosk machine, put in your license number, your car model, colour, plate, then receive a slip with a code on it. You go back to your car and wait inside your car for your examiner to come. Tom was so polite and cheerful. He greeted me, explained what I had to do, went through paper work and put me at such ease. We proceeded and completed the exam. He is a great examiner. He doesn't act like he's the police, he treats you like a human. Faleminderit shume tom! I hope your manager sees this! You are an excellent examiner!

I was nervous initially for my G test but Maddy was my G road test instructor. She is amazing person, very professional, friendly and patient. I passed my test. I highly recommend barrie test centre for G test.

Waited half an hour after my appointment after being told to be there half an hour before and instructor was rude

Amazing experience. I had Mandy as my instructor for my G2 and G test. She made conversation with me both times, as she saw how nervous I was. Gave me great constructive feedback and was sweet as pie! Thank you Mandy Also, thank you to all staff as everyone was super kind and helpful!

Avoid this place at all costs. The examiners will find any excuse to try and fail you and take your $90, we've had this happen twice. Beware. Nice money making scheme the province has going. The two different examiner's I had also are impatient, rude and can be verbally abusive. Try another location, this one will just take your money. Very disappointing to say the least. They expect you to show up 30 minutes before your appointment but if they're late somehow it's okay and no one bats an eye. Somehow their time is important their anyone else's. They'll berate you for it too. The examiner's must have got up on the wrong side of the bed. They don't seem to like their job and/or just don't like people in general. Very rude and condescending behaviour.

Should evaluate the female instructor with the neck tattoo. Lots of bad reviews about her. There's got to be a reason.

I live in Innisfil so for me it made sense to book my test at this center. I can’t speak for everyone but I personally had a great experience here. Mandy was my examiner and she made me feel comfortable and at ease despite the anxiety I’ve been feeling ALL week before the test. At first she seemed very tired and uninterested but with a little conversation and kindness, she was a delight. My advice to anyone going for testing is to just be kind, ask your examiner their name ask them how they’re doing. Take a deep breath and remember to stay calm because they will also feel calmness from you. I passed my G today and Mandy helped me stay relaxed with clear instructions. Thank you Mandy! Huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Passed my G test today after so many hurdles. Kudos to the great guy who was so friendly and professional throughout and made me comfortable with the exam itself. All examiners should be like him. So cool. Thanks for making my day and my Christmas this year. Cheers to him and Barrie Drive test centre.

I had a G test at this location. I had an appointment at 11: 22 am. I did my registration and waited for examiner to get me take the road test more than one hour in my car, but I didn’t see any one come to get me. Then I went to ask the people work in the office. They said they are short 3 examiners today that why they are so behind, I have to wait one hour or one hour and half more. I agree with that situation, but why they didn’t let me and others people know they are late and how long I have to wait when I go to check in at the office. I am so upset about that. I wasted my time more than one hour free without do anything. I won’t go back again to this location.

I do not recommend this place to do a road test. The examiners are very rude and are not professional, today I did my test and I made a mistake and they yelled at me, at that moment I was scared and did not know what to do

This place is a complete disaster always over crowded, long wait times. I'm a commercial truck driver they should try to have a dedicated service if possible.

Tom was great. I passed my G test. He made the whole process so nice and easy and gave clear instructions on the Highway too. Great guy! Thanks Tom!

Sohrab was my examiner and he is nice and polite that made me so calm and confident during the test. Staff at the reception are friendly.

Took my G2 over here, was really nervous at first but the location was fairly simple and straightforward. Worth the drive up from Toronto. The examiner are very patient and friendly, Jason was my examiner at that time. It’s very fair feedbacks!

I passed my G test today at this center. My examiner was a gentleman called Tom. He was very nice, polite and friendly and his positive attitude made me so calm and confident during the test. After my bad experience with previous
examiner, I was so lucky to have him as my examiner.
Also the front desk staff were so nice and helpful.

Very understanding and supportive staff. Both my tester Jason and the woman and the front desk were quite efficient and overall are excellent examples of customer service. Would recommend going to this location for any new driver!

Indian driving examiner very rude. Didn’t even answer when I asked how are you. Very rude and doesn’t know basic social adequate.

I went in mid afternoon on a Thursday to drop off medical forms for my licence. Took a number and waited less than 10 minutes. The people at the counter were great.

The worst drive test center I have ever seen. They told me to wait in the car as stand by for G test I waited in the car for 4 hours and when I went inside to talk to her she said she was looking for me but she didn’t find me and they said I was not in the parking lot! Where I can drive my car if she had my license? It make no sense for me. She was tattoo lady and tall blonde girl that she mark my car as gray color and I told her my car is red these two ladies don’t deserve to work there I hope they get fired.

What difference does it make having a nice test instructor vs a not so nice one. Last summer I went for my G, and the man told me beforehand it was okay to wear sunglasses. At the end of my test he told me I didn’t drop down from 80 to 60 fast enough, and he couldn’t really see my eyes so don’t wear sunglasses next time, and then got out of my car before I could even say anything. When I asked him beforehand about wearing sunglasses, I wish he just told me not to wear them then yes it’s fine. And I made sure to move my head a lot, check my mirrors, over exaggerate it if you will. I was shocked. Today I went for my second attempt at my G test, and the women was so nice and just had a different energy than the man if that makes any sense. It was like he wanted me to fail, and she wanted me to pass. I wish I remembered their names, but I don’t. But to that woman, thank you.

*AN EXAMINER SHOULD NOT BE YELLING AT YOU OR GRABBING UR STEERING WHEEL DURING YOUR EXAM*

I took my G exit test here and my test was scheduled for 8: 50am, and I didn’t even get to start driving until 9: 30. I don’t remember the name of the examiner but he was a middle-aged man with glasses, with a tan complexion. We got onto the North highway ramp and I was on the furthest lane from the merging lane behind a semi truck, the truck wasn’t speeding up and no car was allowing me to merge in front of them and my instructor began yelling at me saying things like “HELLO DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS? ” all because I was not able to merge in time.

When I finally got onto the highway, I was driving safely, checking my mirrors and blind spots frequently, and out of nowhere my examiner just grabs my steering wheel and swerves my car yelling at me “YOU SHOULD NEVER SWERVE YOUR CAR LIKE THAT” I was already upset and just wanting to accept a fail because I wanted to go home. I missed the first exit since I was not able to merge safely due to all the cars and he yelled at me once again.

This was my second time taking the test since I failed the first time due to minor mistakes, and I really wish I didn’t waste my second try at this location if I had known this was the examiner I was going to be paired with. I drove one whole hour from Toronto to this location with confidence I would surely pass this time, but from this experience I’m absolutely terrified to even want to try again after they made me feel uncomfortable and overall frustrated.

Disappointing. We checked in 40 minutes before G2 test & staff said an email of cancellation was sent. It was a lie. Also, she said there would be a call back within the next 2-3 days. Another lie as it's a week later. There's no accountability as now I can't get a hold of anyone. This should not count as an appointment towards my daughter. She was prepared, why can't they be prepared and run a business. We took our time to get there early as we live over 40kms away. Terrible service, no accountability. They should not have this centre if they can't keep appointments. Do your job.

Thank you Larysa I got my License today because of her. Thank you for accommodating me last minute. Instructions from examiner were clear and loud. Thank you both for understanding my condition and accepting me back for G road test.

Wait time was not soo bad better than other places. Instructors were all very nice and helpful going back for my G highway test.

The girl at the door is very polite and helpful same in entrance. My exam must be on 8 November but was cancelled (examiners feel sick). After cancellation they took my phone number and promised call in 2 days for new appointment. Nobody calls in 4 days and I decided to take another appointment online. Happily I got for 17 November. My Examiner was Stefen. I can't say he was rude his insruction was very clear and polite but he said mistakes which I didn't do. In Bryne drive street he said you are slow, speed limit 50 here. I told him there was construction zone begins sign, he said oh really, but he didn't like my answer and said me this is for another street. What? What does it mean it is for another street, this sign in the right side and in Bryne drive street corner how it can he relate for another street. I wrote complaint about it and they promised call me in 2 days. Totally I lost 2 times rent car amount (first for cancellation by drive centre) and 2 day offs. But hope somebody will call me and booked for another examiner. I know there are a lot of good examiners except some of them. As I guess nobody call me neither first time nor this. Don't know how they close my case without calling me

Passed my G test here and the examiner was very helpful with navigating me around the construction without making me nervous. I was also able to complete my test ahead of my appointment time, which was unexpected due to COVID.

Worst experience at this place as some of the instructors are sold out as they failed me by saying i didn’t look by turning my face on a green signal. That asian guy got commission from Asian driving school to fail students as this will lower confidence and they will take classes from them again. That guy failed my all friends one-two times

Beyond disgusted in the way I was treated by Melanie, didn’t even explain reasoning for failure instead just slammed my door:) asked for the notes and the only thing written was vehicle had to take evasive maneu on ramp, 400 is a one lane on the ramp. Wouldn’t recommend, instead ask for someone else the minute melanie approaches your vehicle if you don’t want to be yelled at.

I had a G-Full exam at 12: 30 today, but the examiner came at 2: 45. I think her name was Martha. When she sat in the car, she was extremely angry. I do not know the reason. Then she pulled back his chair and stretched her legs, constantly texting with her mobile phone. And I saw this behavior of hers with several people and unfortunately he spoke badly to everyone, while the other examiners were very kind and calm and did not stress the driver, unlike this lady.

I had G exam today. I was waiting so long.
After long waiting examiner came her name was MELANIE very racist and rude. She refused to take my test which has a camera installed which doesn’t work. I asked her for a chance so I can remove but she she didn’t give. But In the mean time another person’s tire was not good so he went to fix it and came back for the test. I was long waiting for road test date.

Don’t go here! Very bad experience with the lady named Jackie. Looks like colour of the skin matters a lot to pass the driving exam as well.

I had my g2 road test today. My bad luck that i got worst exmainer named "jackie" She was so rude and arrogant, and didn't give me good instruction and made me nervous. It was the worst experience of my life, sad thing is she failed on observing property. I did my 100% on parking turns and everything, but she decide to failed me. I have taken my full course my MTo approved driving school. This is very disappointing, as nowadays booking a road test is very hard and time taking. Exmainer should be polite and understanding that we are new drivers and should not fail like this when drivers is doing well.

I was so nervous about having to do my G test after what felt like constant rescheduling because of covid! (To no ones fault)

Finally my time to do my road test came and Melani came to my window and she was so nice. Huge sigh of relief. She got in the car and once we started talking, my nerves were so eased!

It was a pretty quick test, and the whole time, I was not nearly as nervous as I thought I was going to be. She was very professional & kind. I Definitely would want to have her again if I had to do any more road tests (but thank goodness I don’t)

BEWARE! This test centre will strictly apply rules they have not effectively communicated in order to cancel your drive test. They will do this purposefully to cancel tests at end of the day, and also arbitrarily. They will do this notwithstanding the fact that you may have waited over a year to have the drive test and over three hours past your scheduled test time. They have no respect for their clients, most of whom are young people with no recourse against this shameful treatment.

WARNING! The rule that they do not effectively communicate is that you must wear your mask at all times in your own car while waiting hours for your test. If you remove the mask to eat or drink and are spied by the wrong tester doing this, she will cancel your test. The fact of this rule is insufficiently explained (there are only small signs regarding masking while waiting and verbal references to wearing masks in the car during the test). The extreme consequence of being offside this rule is not conveyed at any time.

In our case, a tester who never had the courtesy to give us her name applied the rule. She cancelled the drive test late on a Friday afternoon. This happened to other young people around the same time. This rule is clearly being applied for the convenience of the drive centre staff, in flagrant disregard for their clients.

Driving instructer terminated my test because she said my car s ball joint needed to be replaced.last time i checked their not mechanics and my car was saftied a month ago horrible inspector do not thake the test with the lady wearing a visor

Mrs. Martha was my examiner. She was extremely naughty and nervous. She did not say hello and not only did it not reduce my stress but it also gave me a lot of stress. I am sorry that such a person was my examiner and I am not at all satisfied with the way she treated me. Thank you

This has to be the worst place to do your G or g2.these people are absolute joke.find a different place to do your g2/G license.i booked an appointment, came early, signed in and waited for 4 hours for them to tell me they forgot or i was cut from the list cuz of THEIR mistake.the one guy working there asked for my license, gave him it, he returned it.i wait (i hadn’t moved at all for the 4 hours) and i walked in and they tried to blame me that i moved my car out of place when i was still in the same spot sitting in my car patiently.they told me i might have to pay a fee again to reschedule.i am still waiting if i have to reschedule or i can do my test.:) so if you were to ask me, find somewhere else or make sure you ask every 15 mins why they haven’t found you.

I received my G2 today! Usman was my examiner and he was awesome! I was nervous when the test began but he made me relax a bit before I started my test. He clearly read out the instructions and he told me that I could ask any questions or clarifications that I may have but I had none at that time. So we started the test. It was drizzling a bit so I kept my wiper on low mode and told him that I would be comfortable with it and he said that’s better. He examined my left turns, right turn and noted where I stopped and how and when I made my turns. He asked me to do an uphill parking, 3 point turn and when we got back to the driving center, he asked me to do a reverse parking and a forward parking. Then he finally said I met the standards with good maneuvering skills. He said I am a great driver! Hearing it from an examiner is amazing! The best thing about Usman is that he gives clear instructions and he did not make me panic at all. He told me well ahead of time what he wants me to do- like ‘on the next traffic light, we are turning left’ - he told this well in advance so I was able to do my verifications properly, signaling and come to the proper lane for making my turn. He did not give any instruction at the last minute and make me nervous or panic. I think this is the best part in the test - knowing what you are about to do and doing it properly. He always said when you are comfortable make an uphill parking - so I was able to comfortably pick a spot and make it when safe. All in all it was a very good experience with Usman, with very clear instructions. He does note down a lot of points - I don’t know about any other examiner as I got my G2 in my first attempt and I feel I had room/space to plan and do the right thing on the road very safely. In my view, Usman is a very nice gentleman who tested my skills thoroughly but never made me panic or nervous at any point of time. If you get him as your examiner, you are very lucky! I hope this helps.

I passed my G2 test yesterday in first attempt and my examiner was Mandy she was very calm, organized and communicated very well and made me feel so relaxed while we had the test drive. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had! Thank you so much “Mandy” and I hope when I come for my G I get to see you again and I will bring my baby too. I would have never bothered to leave a review but you deserve a 5-star

I had a G2 test yesterday, and I passed. My examiner Usman was very polite and nice. He was thorough with his instructions. Consequently I didn’t feel nervous or anxious during the test.

Was here today for my G2.2.15 pm appointment and had to wait well over an hour and a half. The wait was worth it as the people there were really good. The examiner (Didn't say his name) was super chill and he made me comfortable right from the start. He was good with providing instructions and was super patient. I passed. 4 stars as had to wait a long time. Others had to wait well over 2 hours.

I had my driving test today. The drive test instructor (Mr. Usman) was really nice. He not at all made me feel nervous during the test. Very polite and well behaved person. Also, the lady at the counter was super nice and polite. Overall great experience.:)

Drove 8hrs to have instructor say you have great control and confidence operating vehicle yet failed due to advance being green then turning yellow as I was getting ready to turn left. Instructor failed me.thanks Ontario government!

GOD AWFUL! Do not waste your time. The instructors are biased towards literally anyone who doesn't meet their physical expectations. I had a female instructor who was extremely rude, and basically screamed at me because I slammed on my breaks when a man ran a red light and nearly killed us. She claimed it was the wrong course of action and I should have kept driving. She failed me based solely on this reason. -500000/10 complete waste of time, and clearly don't know how to drive.

Just back from renewing by BZ and staff was very nice and helpful, they have a good setup for working with COVID19, Well done folks!

No prior notification was given of cancellation of test due to COVID. I'd tried to call multiple times in the week before to no avail. Drove an hour there just in case and was turned around. No way to get in touch at an appropriate time. Very frustrating experience.

Friendly staff, and both examinors I had - for the g2 and full g - were friendly, professional, and willing to answer any questions.

Today I had a road test for class D
Initially she left for her lunch at 11: 30 then she came back at 1: 30 and I was told that she didn't want to continue with test.no reason my road test was booked for 2: 15. They canceled

The worst place the office it very disorganized the examiner for class comercial driver she isn’t professional and rude on front office don’t have any customers service. Drive Test need change all the personal staff are working there

Just did my G2 here, had an AMAZING experience. The person that did my test was so nice and calm, gave me ZERO anxiety. He knows what he's doing guys. Will definitely be coming back for my G:)

Horrible experience, 45 minutes late and the older “gentleman” seriously needs to be retrained as he is completely oblivious to what he is doing. Not to mention his constant coughing during a pandemic.nice.
While taking my G test he made outlandish claims about me not scanning enough. I couldn’t make it anymore obvious with my head movements every couple seconds, any more and I wouldn’t be watching the road at all. It was very clear that this is nothing more than a cheap way to make up some extra cash from being closed for 4 months. Now I can’t book another test till 2022.thanks buddy.

So badly.they failed me in the driving test without convincing reasons. I did not make a mistake and the teacher told me to book a new appointment

Still have no idea why others are having horrible experience. Did my written test, G2, and G test at this location and every time I had a great experience. Staff were friendly and quick. Took my G test on Christmas Eve and had no issues, passed. Didn't have to wait long at all for any steps (check-in, waiting for the test, and picking up my temp G).

This review is for Serco, the company that manages the drive test Centres across Ontario. I had my road test scheduled for today at Barrie but they turned me away because my postal code is in the grey zone. I did not get any email or any other communication regarding this cancellation. I am frustrated because I took day off from my work, took all the exam stress and only half an hour before the test when I showed up for the test they refused to take my test without giving me any prior cancellation notice.
Staff is really nonsense.
They have no sense to listen other. That lady should be fired. I had my proofs with that I live in Barrie, but she didn't listened to me.

This place is trash for drive testes, failed me for "Not stopping long enough at a stop sign" when he wasn't paying attention and i was there plenty long enough and then today i got failed for "not going fast enough around a corner" and not scanning enough through intersections without lights as if he wants me to break my neck each direction as im driving through it.

This place is exactly how Ontario represents them selves. This facility is not fit to handle the volume of population that goes to this facility. The government forces people from as far as midland to go here to get a drive test. If only things where more like alberta. Private registration offices. No wait times. No wait to do drive tests. Local people owning the registration company works out better. Rural communities able to get there drive test done. This Ontario government scam is one of the worst organizations in Ontario. I hope in the future this province gets with reality. I am extremely angered when I have to do business here. I now drive hours away to avoid this place and it is worth it.

Dont give your drivetest at barrie.they can just fail you for a very minor mistake.my experience was totally bad with this staff.

Hi had my G2 booked with this centre, I currently have downtown Toronto address on my license since i recently moved and did not have enough time to change my address. They refused to have me do the test and did not send me a cancellation.saying that due to Covid they are not accepting anyone for G2 test. When i provide my DL they should have seen my address and they should have notify those booking to beware that tests may be cancelled due to postal code.the woman gave the security guard my licence and told him to explain to me, she was white. I am brown but I do speak English. I dont understand why she couldnt explain this to me and why the security had to do her job of explaining to me that I cannot do the test today. I paid 80$ this is inclusive of rental and gas to go for this appointment. I did not expect this.

My test was on a Wednesday 10: 13 AM, center was relatively empty. Staff was nice, instructor was a gentleman and very polite. After test service was also good. Got my temporary license quickly as well. Really depends on the situation at Drivetests, you cannot judge the whole center by behaviour of mere 2-3 people, if you are friendly everyone is friendly.
