Drupati's Roti and Doubles - Ajax

Love the Doubles. Would give them 5 stars if the manner in which they dish it up (particularly for a take away) wasn’t quite so uncivilized. Impossible to eat without making a huge mess. The amount of sauce they add is never consistent either. It would be great if each roti could be rolled up separately like a wrap with the chana and sauces inside so it doesn’t all spill out like it does now.

Always fresh. Always great taste. But 4 stars because I feel like daal poori and paratha has no salt. It’s very bland but still taste fresh. I wish they would season it better their paratha and daal poori.

Delicious paratha and curry but I ordered goat and pretty sure I got beef!? Will be back for breakfast sometime!

They have several locations throughout the GTA. Usually get the boneless chicken roti but today, I was craving some doubles.

Freedom to pick your level of spicy-ness, choice of cucumber and tamarind sauce. Honestly it was good, the doubles were stretched out a bit but nonetheless, the flavours were complimentary to one another. $3 per Double, picked up 6, not too shabby and doesn’t break the bank.

Amazing hospitality and tasty delicious food. We tried Double, Fuluri, Alu Pie, Dalpuri and they gave us complimentary curry to taste. I recommend this restaurant.

One of my go-to places for lunch, about once every few weeks. I get the chicken roti. I also like the chicken doubles. Nice lady at the counter. There is tables but more like a take out vibe.

I had placed an order over Skip The Dishes not realizing I had place the order for pick-up. I don't drive and the owner called the see if someone was on their way to pick up the order as they were about to close and just wanted to make sure someone was on their way and how far. I explained to her I had thought I had placed the order for delivery and that I don't drive. I felt so awful for the mix-up. She ended up asking for my home address and personally hand-delivering my meal as she was heading my way anyway. NOW THAT IS FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! In all my years of using Uber Eats and similar platforms have I ever had this kind of service. Not to mention she gave us a whole bag of phoulari for free! Thank you so much! We will definitely be ordering from you again, cause on top of the great service the food was AMAZING! Great flavours!

Had bake and smoked herring! Terrible dry: no veg cooked with it, didn’t add pepper sauce like I asked. Horrible! Will never go back

When ever I got my food it’s always so fresh and delicious. It’s 5 stars all the way for taste. I wish they had a better place for the dine in. And longer closing hours. We r night owls.

Shady Business

Double check your receipts when ordering at this place, there could be random extra items that you are charged for. I ordered some dinner for take out and was charged for extra items that I didn't order nor were they in the bag. I noticed too late when I got home and when I called them they stated that if a previous order is in the system that does not get processed it may end up on the next order. Sounds very shady to me, and a sad way to try and earn extra revenue.

The doubles are amazing and they offer whole wheat paratha, which isn’t available in any other West Indian restaurants I’ve visited.

This is an excellent place to get your spicy food. The doubles are fantastic. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable. The store is clean and well lite. I usually have it to go but you can stay and enjoy as well.

I can always rely on their food being of great quality and taste. They exceeded my expectations today when they sent a consolation gift with my husband because he told them that I had to cancel my flight to Trinidad due to illness. Thanks for your great food, Trini warmth and kindness.

These are the best doubles I’ve ever had! My brother lives in Ajax and I make him bring them to me in St. Catharines when he visits.

This is my favorite roti place in Durham region. Not too soupy, good amounts of meat and potatoes. Roti shells are top notch.

The doubles are amazing! Found Drupatis through word of mouth at work and always grab doubles when I’m in Ajax. Goat doubles - so delicious.

I'm a regular patron of Drupati's scarborough and decided to try the Ajax location. I had to put up with a very rude cashier and waited for half an hr for my food with was served cold and tasteless. After being treated this way I won't recommend this place!

I ordered doubles and curry chicken for Drupati's for me and my coworkers. We all got sick. The curry chicken was so terrible didn't cooked property. I was so disappointed with the food. I will never go back there.

Eaten here a couple times, and it's pretty decent if you're craving some West Indies style roti. But it seems prices have been inching-up the last few months

Delicious tamarind chutney/sauce in the doubles! You have to eat it in the parking lot. Lol the bara don't travel fabulously.

We tried the polite recently and were hooked. Ask for a double side of tamarind sauce and be prepared to just drink it. Lol

It has gotten expensive but you can't find a better quality Trinibagoian food in Durham region.

Jerk Chicken with Rice Peas & Curry Chicken gravy soo good. Mild Spicy and When you try the chicken you feel mouthwatering. Best Caribbean food in the Ajax.

Was there a change in management recently? The last couple of visits there has been a noticeable difference in food preparation. There is way too much Dahl Puri, the goat filling I had was dry and tough compared to what was tender, juicy, with the right amount of gravy. The food tastes like it was made by an angry unhappy person. Which is too bad. We used to enjoy the food here.

Yesterday I visited this restaurant for my vegetarian meals, I ordered a variety of dishes and let me tell you the food was tasty (fantastic) and wow the portion size was more than sufficient for my family and I we enjoyed every bite.the service was “A” class, I highly recommend this restaurant to the public.

Had a awesome experience in this place with my kids. The food arrives quickly and the customer service is just good. Prices are affordable.

Friendly and understanding people here. Willing to accommodate to your special requests when ordering. Reasonably priced items.

We ordered aloo chick pea doubles. There was way too much curry powder on the roti, absolutely no taste in Aloo chana.
We also ordered mango doubles. It was full of mango pickles that was not that much edible. Roti was also not completely cooked from the edges. It was our first trial. Never going back.

The doubles are good, so the food we have tried so far is not the issue. Customer service is the issue.

The people working here are rude. They act like it is an inconvenience for them to take your order.

News flash: The people who are ordering from you are keeping you in business.

Be thankful at least that you have customers especially at a time like this.
You need to treat your customers with respect. Your food is good, but in my opinion not good enough to excuse your customer service.

1st time here, got the boneless curry chicken and dahl pourri roti. It was good. Will definitely go back to try something else!

Was not my favorite place to eat, food was costly and person cashing out not friendly. The food was missing some ingrediencies, not very tasty, not sure if I would eat there again. I would prefer Roti Hut or Mona's any day.

I prefer this restaurant very much.theres a different atmosphere. The cuisine is great.the service is effective and the crew is friendly. The pay is honest. I highly recommend.

Drupati's doubles can't be touched, so good, but it seems since I last there, they've changed their curry or something. I just picked up a mini curried goat rot, a mini chicken roti and two doubles. Doubles were great, but the roti? Flat, tasteless and underwhelming to say the least.

I'm a born and raised Trinidadian and this is the closest doubles I've tasted to a road side doubles from Trinidad. I will travel back to Ajax just for this doubles. Tasty

The worst Doubles I've ever had in life! The Doubles are so flat and paper thin, that I wouldn't even consider it Doubles? ! It should be call sometime else. I would discourage any one from buying Doubles from Drupati's until they learn how to make REAL Doubles! PERIOD!

Went in to order and stood there for 20 minutes and no one took my order very unorganized and Unprofessional they couldn't even tell me to wait a min or 2 just got totally disregarded

This is an amazing place for Caribbean food or Trini cuisine. Try the goat roti the best thing ever.

I ordered for take out here yesterday. The Jerk chicken was way too chewy and not upto the mark, the goat curry was good and the fish curry was a complete disappointment. They had literally put in like 2-3 teaspoons of curry in their, I was wondering what did I pay for?

Cheats plain and simple. I ordered the boneless goat curry at 715pm today march 14 2020. At 7.40 pm I got a courtesy call saying they forgot to tell me they close at eight so nice of them to remind me to pick up my order. At which point I said my son is on his way to pick up. He comes home with the food and lo and behold Drupathis packed me chicken curry and my daughter was so looking forward to goat as she never tried it before. Disappointing if they never had any left they should have told me. Cheat scapes will not reconmend them. My very first take out order and a very bad first impression

Chicken roti was dry and would have benefited from a little more sauce. The chicken itself was very good, i.e. Large pieces of white chicken meat.

Doubles were sweeter than I am use to, but were still delicious.

I walked into this restaurant a few days ago, upon entering, the lady at the front was on the phone, I patiently waited until she was finish, she hung up the phone and was looking everywhere but at me, when she finally did.she said nothing.she looked. I looked.she then finally said “hi”. I said goodmorning.
I excused her attitude to maybe she is distracted or whatever.
I asked if she had Bake and Saltfish. I placed my order and paid.
I waited and waited, she kept popping in and out from the back.then finally another lady came with a brown paper, and ask who ordered Bake and saltfish. I responded that I did (there was another customer in the restaurant).
She looked at me, left it on the counter and walk back to the back of the restaurant.
I stood there waiting, and waiting again.assuming she went to grab pepper, a plastic bag, something.
The original lady now returned with the other person’s order, she then said.ur auder ready u kno.huh.is it the FLIPPING ORDER SITTING ON THE COUNTER THAT NOONE HANDED TO ME OR TOLD ME I COULD GO AHEAD AND TAKE.
God knows why I had my daughter with me. I remain calm bc didn’t want to create a scene and embarrass her, but i was fuming inside!

They certainly need to work on their manners over the phone. They put you on hold without even telling you, are short and get your orders wrong. For instance today, they charged me for an order of polori and lo and behold, I didn't get it. This is not the first time, I just thought I'd give them a 3rd chance. This business has such good potential, they just need to work on customer service and attention to detail, a it'll be a stellar place.

Not a big fan of Caribbean curry and roti but this roti was really good. Still not a fan of this style of curry but for those who are I highly recommend this place. With this roti I did not mind the curry.

Overpriced and stale. The food is not fresh, and extremely overpriced. Purchased cake and the next day it was covered in mould. Don't know how they can have that stuff on the shelf.
