Dufferin Medical Clinic & Walk-In

Not a good service.
They mentioned me walk-in needs to show up by 1pm. When I reached at 12 pm they mentioned the wait time may be 2 hours or so.
Felt lack of understanding in staff.
It will be a good idea to let patients/customers know on call before hand so they can plan accordingly. (which I made a follow up call to confirm)

Don't go there, don't waste your valuable time, waiting 4 hours for the doctor to only see you for 5 minutes, what is the doctor doing making his patients wait so long? The other thing is that the receptionists are very rude and impolite, they don't know how to take care of the patient.

Extremely bad organization. Waited for more than 2 hours but people after me without appointments were called in earlier than me. The receptionist keeps saying “you’re next” but let’s in 10 patients before me. No proper communication either.

The front desk staff are rude and dismissive. I was recommended by a friend but I had to switch family doctors because the front staff are the problem not the practitioners.

This place is horrible and dirty for young children this rood woman wearing black glasses she sounds so rood nobody talking to her roodly says you can just leave after she put my kids and I in a nasty room with a big leak damages that looked like pee stain over our heads so I left and do not recommend this place to nobody customer service has gone down hill in Toronto

I have known Dr. Duchastel for 16 years and great companionate dr.and listens and understands patients needs.

**reposted after mysterious deletion. I was DISCRIMINATED against on Sept 13,2022 by the front desk Filipina Secretary. I was using my old Red and White Health Card

Which the Ministry says is Valid until Sep 30,2022.

I am a visible minority and Was told that my card was Stolen.

Even though I presented my drivers licence along with the card.

Then her partner jumped in and said, That, "Oh well the system says your card in particular isn't extended"

Really? I was so appalled. That I just left and went straight to the Ministry to get my updated Green Card, Where The friendly staff informed me that the Secretary's there are full of S#HT and my card is completely fine.

Me being a born Canadian found the whole ordeal quite funny.because they obviously judged me because of the colour of my skin and what they believed to be my citizenship status LOL

I didn't have the energy to prove to them "How Canadian I was" and why on god greens earth would I or anyone steal a health card.but I found out after wards that apparently thats a thing for undocumented people. NEWS To ME.

Anwyhoo Shame on you TITA.you shouldn't be quick to judge people.because i'm sure you don't like when born Canadians discriminate against you.

Which I could have pulled that card if I was a petty person which I am not.

Well we all know that Karma has no expiry date!

I understand you need to keep the remittance money flowing for the people back home.so you're job Scared. But you need to slow down and think about how your comments of accusing someone of STEALING without any proof may come off.

It was embarrassing and demeaning.

And before anyone starts.with the remittance comment.i'm married to a Filipina so don't even go there.

PS. It was a medical emergency that's why I went with my red and white card. I had an appointment with Service Canada later on in the week to get my new card.before the Sep 30th Deadline.

This clinic has denied medical attention to a Canadian in need presenting proper identification and having a medical emergency.

The front desk staff were professional and attentive. The physician I saw was great too. I was the 5th patient in line and was there for approximately 1.5 hours.

Front desk staffs are very rude. I never see this kind of bad service in Canada. The doctors don't care that much about the front desk service. You can see years of bad comment about front desk service but there is no improvement. Patient entry and providing service is corrupted.

Dr. Mahboob is exceptional, not like other doctors I have visited he takes the time to make sure every possible procedure is done to ensure correct diagnosis. Doesn't rush you and follows up on his word. 5+ stars

The office was late in opening they say they open at 9: 30 but they did not open until almost 10. I came in as a walk in but they do not have doctors available for walk in patients until 11: 00. This information should be posted so that people know when they come to the clinic.

The worst clinic i have ever visited.first of all, its dirty.they do not listen to you and rush you.front desk is rude and unorganized, and unprofessional

Find some other walk-in clinic. They will waste your entire day and never ever respects appointments. Go to Westside medical for faster checkup and friendly customer service.

Dr. Mahboob is a friendly dr & I have seen Dr. Duchastel both dr are amazing staff is very helpful & nice i don’t mean to be pointing or even say nationality but with respect the 3 Philippine ladies need to stop speaking their language in a work place because if a question is asked they talk between themselves in their language than tell you the answer which isn’t right. But the other 2 Staff there are phenomenal keep up the great work.

Doctor refused to give me x-ray for my back pain. Refused to hear anything I had to say about my back pain and told me in 120 second examination that the problem was not in my back but in my feet after 3 other doctors diagnosed me with spinal stenosis.
You have to pay for parking and if you're lucky the doctor might be in.
Don't waste your time with Dr. Mahboob, find a doctor that cares and doesn't want you to come back for each issue separately so he can make more money. Now I have to get my bloodwork done at another doctor because the nurses won't release the info to me.
Avoid this office, it's depressing, it's dirty and the staff make you feel really uncomfortable and they make you feel like they're doing you a favour by seeing you. Too bad there's no zero star selection.

Disgusting conditions. Terrible customer service from the front desk ladies, literally no empathy after telling people they have to wait “2-4” hours to see the doctor. My mom came in with an ear infection and needed her prescription; we waited 2.5 hours and were told there was 3 people ahead of her. 2.5 hours later and 4 people in and out still to be told there’s STILL 3 people ahead, I’m not sure where these 3 people were or what was going on but we had to leave without being serviced. Never experienced such poor, classless behaviour at a walk-in. It was unkept, dirty.the women stand behind the desk talking instead of upkeeping the facility.

Go to Westside Clinic, we were in and out in 20 minutes. It was clean, they were kind at reception. Do not waste your time here!

Dr.takes more patients than he should. People are waiting for hours. They mix walk-ins with appointments, or who knows what they do, but it's a mess.

Customer service from the staff is very poor, they are almost annoyed that they have to do something. They don't have appointments, arrived 9am then I got told to come back at 12, came back at 12 have now been sitting waiting again for 45 min.

Additionally they don't take walk ins after 2pm so seems as they only really work from 9 to 2 and they expect you to sit here the whole day for a 20 min consultation

Please don't use this facility, this is NOT acceptable service

They've renovated and have improved their wait system. Dr. Mahboob is the most caring doctor I have ever encountered. A rare breed of medical professional that actually knows what bedside manner means.

Great Staff, very Professional, pleasant and accomodative.

Dont go there. Worst experience ever. Front desk will lie about wait time. It's not a walk-in clinic so if they have alot of patients coming in they'll bump you down. They said 1 hour wait ended up waiting 2h30. Dr. Mahboob, didn't listened to what I was saying, just assumed a bunch of things even though I was saying this did not apply to my personal situation & asked alot of questions not linked AT ALL to the reasons why I visited the clinic in the 1st place. Stay away.

My colleague got into an accident with rusted screw into his hands. So he went this clinic to get tetanus shot. But first time they turned him down because he didn’t have appointment then second time when they told him to comeback at 4: 30 they put in 5: 30 in the book. That’s very unacceptable. What if he gets infected from the rust. Very bad look

Dr. Mahboob is amazing and will genuinely provide care for patients, he deserves 5 stars.but sometimes the front staff are not very understanding of mental illness/chronic illness and how it affects the human. It is also annoying to have to wait over an hour or two with an appointment already booked, it is hard when youre already ill and anxious. They seem overworked perhaps or are trying to fit in more people than they comfortably can. I recommend reducing the # of patients a day. Or having family doctor hours separately, or hiring a new doctor to see just the walk-ins so the others can focus on their chronically ill patients who need longer appointments. Again I reiterate that Dr. Mahboob is a good doctor and doesnt condescend and explains why he came to the conclusion he did, I am generally happy with the service I've recieved here

I have seen Dr. Dushastel a number of times and has been very helpful with his diagnosis. The front office however could be a bit more attentive to clients. Overall, satisfied with the practitioner.

You will wait here for hourrrrrrrrs! And they will keep telling you that there is only one person ahead of you lol it's a joke. Definitely go somewhere else unless you have the whole day to waste.

Worst doctor ever takes like 5 hours to see like 10 patients wasting tax payers money do your job properly no wonder you have 2.8

The old doctor too old, Duchastel seems off on many issues, moody and can be helpful on another day and Dr. Jackal the next. He told one lady it was all in her head, refused to accommodate her with a specialist and she ended up having a cancer op.after he neglected to listen or help.
He is not stable enough to trust to receive competent medicine. Really bad Dr, (Full of EGO) who can appear capable but you will be disappointed! You cannot Fathom how my friend suffered because of this Dr ignorance! You will have many lifetimes of karma to pay back!

Time to retire.before you harm some more people mortally and increase your karmic debt.

I've been here a few times and I've always had a great experience. Doctor was very helpful, kind and actually listened to what I had to say. Will definitely go back if I need to.

The staff works quite hard and are always busy but they'll make the time to ensure you're taken care of. A special shout-out to ZORA - she went above and beyond to help me out. -D. Knight

Unfortunately, I had to come to this walk in several times in the last month. The doctor is a very nice man and seems to be competent, however the way the office is run is extremely unprofessional. In order to be seen within a reasonable wait time you have to be the first in line for the walk in. If you’re later than that you’re looking towards an hour wait AT LEAST! The front desk staff are not very polite and and seem very unorganized. Go somewhere else if you need a walk in clinic.

UPDATE:

Just finished. I was the 4th person to be seen and it took me a grand total of 2 hours. I was the FOURTH person in the line. Ridiculous.

Don't go here for a Walk-In. Horrible wait times and rude receptionists who don't seem to really know anything. Not worth waiting.

The exam room was filthy with stains on the wall and dust on the counter. I could actually see that the "cleaner" did not bother to remove the items on the counter, but wiped around them - gross! Reception staff seems to take a lot of time to get things done, even though there are many of them. Dr Mahboob was very keen to send me for a full check-up even though I already had some recent results with me. I got the impression that it was all about the money. I left before they could get my blood work.

Dr. Mahboob is wonderful, he's very thorough and sends you for every test in the book to rule out any concern and to insure you are in perfect health.

But the front desk staff needs work. Customer service is terrible. They are very rude, they have no sense of organization or communication with the patients. I find that they skip patients who have been waiting long to allow patients who just walked in to see the doctor first. I have waited over an 1 hour for my appointment just to be told that the person who walked in after me was seeing the doctor first, meanwhile their appointment was scheduled after mine. Trying to call to make an appointment is horrible, they never answer the phones. It's taken me 2hrs and multiple back to back phone calls in one day to finally have someone pick of the phone to make an appointment. There are 4 people sitting at front desk, there is no reason trying to get a hold of them should be that difficult. I've noticed while waiting in the waiting room the phones are ringing and they rarely answer and just continue to have a conversation amongst themselves while the phone rings continuously

Doctor Pankara is a caring physician who was willing to listen and help me. I was at the clinic to see doctor pankara and she went through me medical and family history, was examined and further requisitions given for tests that were needed. I was not rushed, cut off, or dismissed and I was treated with compassion and respect. I left very pleased in the overall professional manner I was treated. I look forward to make her my family doctor. Three days later I was in her office to review my test results and on my arrival the staff was very polite on the phone and upon my arrival prior to. They were overall very welcoming and not passive or rude at all. I did not even have a chance to finish filling out the patient forms when I was called in to be seen. I recommended Doctor Pankara to most of my friends and family and they had an overall high satification with their visits to her office.
