Duffy's Famous Fish & Chips

Fries were cold and so was fish
And I some how paid 96 bucks for 2 fish and chip meals a kids meal and 2 soft drinks and 1 coffee
The fish and chips were listed as 16.99 and the kids meal was 7 bucks
Needless to say I won't be going back

Unsure about the food but I didn't want to give it a low score because the rest of Duffy's is a DELIGHT. Having a girls' weekend in Southampton and came across Duffy's after dinner. They were having karaoke night and the place was rocking! A friendly crowd and responsive bar service, what more could you ask for? And no, I won't be posting any karaoke photos:)

Not sure about the food as we were ignored at the door. Waited fir 5 minutes ti be greeted. Staff looked at us but never came over. Wasn't even busy.

I had no food. The bartender was great and friendly. This was karaoke, and there were people from Toronto and Hamilton. Everyone had a rocking time, and I loved singing.

Got there at 5: 15 on Sunday, August 13, and the restaurant was only half full. We waited for 15 minutes only to be told they aren’t taking anymore tables. The sign says they are open till 8: 00. We are a polite, mature couple. Didn’t need to be made to feel like we aren’t deserving. Won’t go back, what a sour reminder of what Southampton locals are really all about.

Four of us went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was quiet, not a lot of customers. After a 30 minute wait we asked about our order. Told it was over looked. Server couldn't be bothered to tell us. Waited 45 minutes for our food. No management in sight. Fish and chips was delicious as was the garden salad.

Fried fish was good and our service was great. Would definitely recommend to come check them out

Food is amazing and price is fair. Staff are polite. Highly recommend this place. We really enjoyed everything we ordered

Fish and chips were limp with no hint of crispness in the batter. Fries appeared to be frozen and then deep fried and again, limp.
Front door was wide open and the result was a hot dining room with an abundance of flies to swat and and wave away. Not pleasant at all.
The staff were young and friendly but inexperienced. We had to ask for all the basics including the condiments, cutlery which was not supplied even after the meal was served. We had to go and ask for it. And the bill was not supplied until we got up and asked for it as well.

Super cute place.apparently they have live music which we didn't get to see.the food took a little while to come, it seemed to be slightly understaffed.when the food did come it was tasty and fresh.we got the bbq chicken wings and the haddock fish and chips.both were scrumptious and are recommended.

Rude server and waited over 20 minutes to try and order food and just ended up leaving. Dont bother going here.

Duffy's might be famous, but not in a good way. Tables were filthy, ladies bathroom stalls didn't lock & plumbing was routed through the ceiling to drain into the sink. But worst of all was the food! We had the 'famous fish & chips' - both fish & batter were completely unseasoned, fries were unsalted, cold & mealy (from being thawed & refrozen multiple times). We were there on a Sunday afternoon - not busy, just lousy. We definitely won't be back.

Went for the fish and chips and we enjoyed it. The fires were great. The service was also very good.

My first and last time at Duffy’s. Server was pleasant and quick to take our order. We had to wait 1 hour to get our food and that was after saying we were leaving if it wasn’t on the table in 5 minutes. Good (fish and chips and fish tacos) were soggy and bland. In the end we were not charged for our drinks and our server wanted to pay for our meal but we said no as it wasn’t her fault. Washrooms were scary dirty. Never again.

Server was so disinterested in helping, she was rude and didn’t even come back to see if need more drinks, forgot part of one of our orders ab when asked said “ o yeah I forgot that”… recommend maybe using a pen an pad.
Chicken tacos are not tacos, using the same chicken you serve kids in chicken finger an fries meal is not suitable… or at least try an find pieces that would fit a small tortilla (even when black burnt).
Fish had a pile of grease in plate you could refry it in. Wings had minimal sauce.
Can’t get over how much was wrong with our meals. Not even going to talk about cleanliness of place. Will not return.

Went in for lunch and will never go back! Service started out okay snd then the wait was lengthly but to make matters worse our waiter seemed interested in doing anything but getting our food to us. We could see food sitting in the window to be picked up and he was cleaning tables, ringing in bills, sitting and having a break, and then going outside to visit friends. I finally had to ask another waitress if that could possibly be our food. She said oh likely. I will go and get it. We honestly would have been better off if she had left it there. The fish was so overcooked you could barely chew it. Combine that with the fact that it was cold and sitting in a pile of grease it was anything but good! The portions were ridiculous for the price. When asked how we enjoyed our meal we did not sugar coat it. The response we got was that they appreciate criticism. I am pretty sure he missed the point completely! Sorry Duffy's we won't be back.

My husband and I stopped in for some fish and chips during our ride, and stopped to see the open sign was lit, parked and tried the door, it was locked! 4: 15pm and it’s closed so thumbs down Duffy’s, we wanted to be your patrons but you failed: (

I want this place to succeed but they make it so hard to support them. The food is essentially all frozen. Not a problem in itself, but considering the ever-increasingly prices and the ludicrously small portions, you have to ask if Duffy’s is just ripping off its customers. Our fish and chips yesterday consisted of one very small piece of frozen fish and about McDonald’s medium portion of fries. Not only that, but it took 35 minutes to cook in a restaurant with about three other tables occupied. Please - increase your portion sizes to provide better value, and drastically reduce wait times. I know you need to turn a profit, but small portions and slow service is not the way to do it. If fish is so expensive, at least serve plenty of fries and maybe some in-house baked bread rolls with salted butter. Make an effort to get food to tables in no more than 10 minutes. If you do this, I promise you will make more money and fill the empty tables.
