Dumfries Conservation Area

Good trails, nice and flat for the most part with a few rooty areas. Homeless encampments in a few areas restrict our family exploration but otherwise its a good area with lots of options. Dog poo on the edge of the main trails is a bit of a problem so watch your step!

Also, stop picking up your dogs poo if your just going to throw the poop bag into the forest! You're better off grabbing a stick a flinging it off the trail then sealing it in plastic.

Lots of trees, trails. Lovely place to go for a walk. Has a large lot for parking. It does not have washrooms or a picnic area. Easy access to, as not too far from Hespler Road.

A beautiful conservation area in the middle of the city here in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. There is no desegregated playground for children at this location, but seems to have a small jungle gym set inside the dog park fenced off area that is there for children to use but I’d inside the dogs free roaming off leash area? So yes this park is very dog friendly and an appropriate spot for dogs to be and there are 2 picnic areas but the one picnic area closest to Dunbar street has no picnic tables just a roof covered Shelter with no seats or tables at all. Also there are technically no restrooms either, the YMCA has bathrooms inside their facility right next to the Hespler road entrance/parking lot/ picnic area but technically it’s a separate business and entity.

It has a nice trail to walk, benches to enjoy quality time with your family in the lap of nature.

Want to explore more of the place, quite a lot of litter along the trail we walked though.

Great for hikes and a very nice gravel path for bikes or wheelchair. Also have some side trails which are great.

Definitely a beautiful and super peaceful area to explore with endless trail systems.

Wish I didn’t have to write a bad review. Always loved walking my dog here but after my last walk I don’t think I feel safe enough to come again. Too many grocers carts and cans everywhere. I was walking with my dog deeper in the woods and someone started making clapping and clicking noises. Couldn’t see where they were. I could here the branches breaking as I was hurrying to get out of there. The sun was starting to set and it was getting dark. After someone started calling out at me I ran out. Unfortunately this wasn’t the first time this has happened now. With all the reports of people being dragged off trails I’m too nervous to go back.

It's a nice park with varied terrain. There is a large mostly flat grassed area and then also trails through a forested area too. Main parking is okay, not real large. I only saw porta-potties no actual washroom. Nice place to spend a few hours. Picnic, hike or both.

Visit this park weekly to hqve coffee with friends. Portable toilet available that is always clean. Picnic tables and a pavilion available.

Very nice trails. Mosquitoes were fierce at 8pm so put on bug spray. My dog Callie enjoyed the pine trail in the deep forest. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful place to get a little lost, especially with your four-legged friends! Definitely a hidden gem as I've driven by for years and only stopped in recently.

A great place to go for a nice walk in the city. On my walk today, I saw a deer hiding out. Many different trails to explore.

Really beautiful for a walk through the woods, never knew how close nature was to where I live. Definitely recommend, however I wish they would clean up near the trails more, quite a bit of trash especially near the creek ravine

Nice trails in wooded area and surprisingly surrounded in residential area but wouldn't know unless you come out at one of the paths!

Fun walk on the trails today. I had time to kill while waiting for my car to have an oil change so I went for a stroll to find a geocache. I didn't find the cache but it was a nice quiet walk along the trails.

Its a beautiful park very vast in size. But its pathway is not wheelchair friendly or Walker friendly so be prepared for a healthy challenge if you are like me in a wheelchair

Mostly for cricketers as there's a large open field where they come to practice or play fairly regularly. Some small trails to walk through with the kids and tables to have a meal. Which is what we did. We often buy food from around the area and due to the restrictions on indoor dining, decided to eat outdoors. This is a perfect location for that, during warmer weather. It's centrally located, close to conveniences but is small and sparce. If you have young children bring your own fun, have a picnic and let them play in the field.

Wonderful long walk through a valley, then a forest and then up and down hills. Excellent loved every moment.

Beautiful place to go for a walk with nature right here in the city. Be careful at night though, that's when the coyotes come out a hunting. The have to eat too and they were here first.

Wide expanse​ of trails of all widths and terrains through folluage and woods also of a large variety.

Please carry a bug spray if you’re planning on taking a hike through Dumfries.

On the other hand, it was a wonderful experience taking the trail with so many species/ecologies to explore. Loved it.

Wonderful small conservation area right in the heart of the Cambridge. An oasis!
Gemreay place for a romantic walk or to get away and bushwhack or walk some trails. There is some older geocaches there as well

it has a hood parking so not problem to leave your car. The view is amazing. Totally recommend

Stopped by for lunch. Very clean and well maintained park. Some new sitting areas have been set up. Has never been crowded when I've been here.

This is the best park for playing cricket also there is cricket peach are available on this ground. And also you can sheet here and best for exercise

This wonderful park is a forested part of the city with trails and lends itself nicely to a peaceful walk. Minutes away from the mall and everything else it's existence is a great surprise.

Fun open spot. Our dog Piper was loving running through the fields. Not sure that would be possible in the busier season when there are more dogs and people.

Great for walking. Wide open areas for family gathering, playing soccer, football, cricket. No play equipment for children.

Great place for short walk and picnic but all the cigarettes butts by picnic tables make me lose a appetite
