I specifically want to mention Dr. George Spanos. He's extremely gentle, kind, compassionate and caring. I had been neglecting dental care for several years, and was somewhat anxious about going to a dentist. The entire staff is friendly, insightful, understanding, knowledgeable and professional. I have had extensive work done and I am beyond pleased with their services. I would recommend this dentist office in a heartbeat. I can smile with confidence and eat without pain now. Thank you!

Went in for a simple check-up & cleaning. The dentist assumed I had insurance (without asking) and so recommended several unnecessary services (i.e. Replacing multiple fillings that were perfectly good). I had to pay over $800 out of pocket for this unnecessary work just because they thought they were scamming my insurance company.

There is no way for me to reply to the office's response except by editing the review. I'm 100% certain this took place at Durham Shores Dental Whitby location 617 Victoria St W. I have the invoice to prove it. The dentist did not "force" treatment on me, they told me it was necessary when it wasn't, and I made the mistake of trusting them.

Dr. VALERIE Silva gave unprofessional, unwelcomed advice that was overstepping her boundary and had
nothing to do with dentistry. What shocked me the most was that she doesn't know what causes staining in children's teeth. SHE
thought it was caused by food. I usually take my daughter to other dentist but they were fully booked but she was available in the ext 2 days so I had to book with her. WORST mistake. Never going back there again.

A horrible experience all around. After informing me that I was covered under my insurance, I was told AFTER my appointment that I was owed the balance of my uncovered cleaning. The girl at the front desk remarked that it happens quite often, and that if I (the patient) does not pay, they will be forwarding my bill to collections. I am still paying it off now.

Been coming here for more than a decade and have never had a bad experience. The entire staff makes the best of a visit most of us aren’t looking forward to.

Tooth extracted and l got infection.
Then they put bone in extracted area so l can get implant, and l waited 1 year to get implant. Today l learned the bone is not good to be able to get implant!
I dont recommend anyone, dont waste your time and money on their unprofessional dentists.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I would not recommend this place, especially for small children. My son had his first dental experience with Dr. George. He became very anxious and scared when Dr. George started using the motorized cleaning tool in his mouth. The Dr.tried to bribe him a couple times with a toy but was clearly annoyed my son wasn’t cooperating. Instead of explaining and trying to calm him down, he walked out of the room dismissing us without saying a word. Perhaps he was having a bad day but he was extremely unprofessional and rude which left a terrible experience for us.

BREAKING THE TRUST OF YOUR CLIENTS:
After (2) TWO YEARS of wearing BRACES…. MY DAUGHTER’S teeth are PERFECTLY (ALIGNED).
ORTHODONTIST is FOR PROFIT over CLIENTS…Daughter NEVER received any UNNECESSARY extensive/invasive DENTAL PROCEDURES that ORTHODONTIST DEMANDED (got upset and wanted to STOP treating my DAUGHTER after I REFUSED) :
1. TOOTH EXTRACTION (Denied)
2. JAW SURGERY (Denied)

I recently found Dr. Valerie during covid times and she has been great. I switched from my dentist of 15 years to her because she's that good. She's so professional and kind and takes all your concerns into account. My entire family goes to her now and she's just so wonderful. All the administrative staff are always pleasant and professional too. Definitely recommend!

I have been coming here since I was four years old & that was ten years ago. The staff here are incredible, especially the ladies in the front. They make you feel like you’re a part of the family, which is super friendly. Dr. G and the Hygienist staff are great. As a kid, they would show me all the different tools & explain what they did, so if I had any fears, I wouldn’t be scared. They were constantly checking in to make sure I was doing great or Needed a break. They have TVs so you can watch whatever like cartoons they used to have special ear phones to when I was little.

Fast forward to now, they explain things in specific detail, so not only can I understand what is happening with my oral health, but I am learning new things from the process.

I can’t rate their fees yet, as my mom pays out of Pocket for it.

Overall, the experience is welcoming and friendly.

Today was the first time coming to Durham Shores dental. I was greeted and welcomed by the staff. Also, the setup was seamless everything was able to be done before arrival. Mari was my hygienist and she was wonderfully patient and explained everything she was doing. The staff is awesome at Durham shores dental. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist

Had an amazing experience at Durham shores Dental today. Dr. George was absolutely incredible as well as his awesome assistant.
I called them this am at 10 and they were able to fit me in for a procedure that wasn’t easy but it was done by 3 pm.
Nicki as a wonderful treatment coordinator was able to get me the help I needed.
Having worked in the dental field I can tell you there’s nobody that could’ve been any better.very appreciative,

We had an amazing experience today. My daughter is 8 and super shy. The Dr, assistant, and front desk were all amazing in making her feel comfortable. Thank you for making our first filling as smooth and easy as possible.

I have been coming to DSDC for years and have always been exceptionally satisfied with their work. All of the staff are extremely friendly, the office is phenomenally clean, and their work is impeccable. Anytime I've had an urgent dental matter they've seen me as soon as possible. I have had my husband and step-son roster as patients, which is a testament to how much I appreciate this office.
