Worst lab and worst experience. They rip you off, the patient has to pay $11 to see the results. It's covered by OHIP. Why ask for money for a service already funded by the government? I will go to Life Labs because I can see my blood results for free

Horrible place, Racist and Prejudice, this is professional field, If you don't like to work go get a job in another field. OMG they don't even look at you, as well they have no knowledge of what they are doing.

I had a blood work and ECG at this lab. Despite being busy the wait times were not so long. People especially the nurse Hamdiye was so nice. She did my bloodwork and ECG gently and informed me with the steps.

The people here are very nice and helpful. I’m one of those light-headed-maybe-faint people when getting blood drawn. They offered me an upgrade from my seat to a nice medical bed, never had that offer before! Didn’t have to show my CAA card or anything. 10/10 would get blood drawn here again

Absolutely horrible. I constantly wait 2-4 hours for get my blood work done. Disgusting. Let Trudeau or Ford wait 2-4 hours to get a blood test!

Few people working here do not have accountability of how to work in a clinical atmosphere. When we came to check-in, my wife is 8 months pregnant and rather wishing the customer and trying to help, rather it is important for the staff to discuss about old employee and her behaviour when she worked in clinic was more important for them than attending the customer. Only stars is for the lady who took blood samples was nice and friendly

Backlog created unnecessary wait for results. Results were not ready in due time which meant we were unable to discuss results at my Dr's appointment. It does seem well organized and it's a good location with parking. However, I had to pay for a test and they didn't realize it until the needle was uncapped so I had to go back to the front and do the whole process over again.

With the understanding that you need to be savvy about when you go and checking in online before choosing to go. It can be well organized. It's clearly a popular place and often booked up with folks available waiting despite not taking appointments. Plan to spend at least an hour and if you are here early (for those fasting) even longer. I like that the screen shows you what position in the queue you are. Sometimes there were enough people waiting that there weren't seats available. Study the wait time patterns online a bit before picking when you go. It can be a dramatic wait time difference.

This is a _very_ busy lab and you should be prepared for that. I need to fast for my blood work, and hence go first thing in the morning. This means a long line and corresponding wait. Despite that I have always found the staff doing their best to get things moving as fast as possible. Keep in mind the pressure they are under and you won't be disappointed.

Today there were only 2 women working in the blood services lab. My initial waiting time was 108 minutes, but quickly wound down to much less time due to the efforts of Jamie and Trish. Pleasant and efficient.

Given the volume of lunchtime patients, Angela at the front desk and the team behind the scenes handled me like Champs just now! The new app allowed me to check in and receive a text when it was my turn. Waited at home for 90mins while the queue moved and was in and out within 10 mins!

I checked in online and they were running late so I still had to wait when I got there. I sent my requisition online twice but they couldn’t receive it. The staff weren’t listening to my concerns and didn’t know how to do out of country requisitions. They only had an old one on file from last year. I waited for almost an hour for them to tell me they couldn’t help me that day and that I needed to print it myself elsewhere.

I have been using this location for at least 10 years now. Although I sometimes feel frustrated when I have to wait but the fact of the matter is that people who have come first will be served first.

Staff is generally friendly. There are a couple of rude people but that is probably true for any organization.

Worst experience I've ever had. When I checked in the wait time was 1 hr. After waiting an hour and a half, there was still at least 40 mins wait. I have a busy work schedule and had to go back to a meeting and one staff member was rude about situation. I would never recommend this location.

I am a 16 year old who recently got blood work today and I can say that no one should be treated as I was. Firstly, I was accused of changing my bloodwork papers, which were altered by my doctor. Then, had to convince the lady of my innocence. I was also a topic of gossip amongst the staff as my mother heard them talking about me and my situation. On top of this, I was lectured on how kids my age are the reason that Covid is still here. I know this is a very hard time on these workers, however it does not excuse their behaviour.

I bought my 80+ year old Dad in for routine blood work. First time, we were turned away as we didn't make an appointment. Second time, we came at appointment time, registered and were sent outside the building to wait. The wait time was 40 mins, and we stayed outside for about 20 mins. There is no seat. People are leaning on the concrete flowerbeds. There are seniors using walker, just stand against the wall. After we waited inside for another 20 mins, it was our turn. Then we were told the requisition is expired! Called the clinic and they cannot give a new requisition without seeing the patient. The senior couple before us were turned away as well, their requisition form was incorrect.

I'd strongly suggest the lab to change their procedure. Check the requisition form at registration time please. Don't let people wait for a long time then point out the problem and send them home.

Please bring some chairs outside for the seniors while they wait.

If you can avoid this place, do it! I’ve had to go for blood work every month this year and each time I have to wait 45-2hr, even with an appointment that I scheduled 2 weeks prior. They are super unorganized and always having issues. I had no choice and had to go there but if you can visit another clinic don’t hesitate. Save your time!

This place is so disorganized. Every time I try this location you can guarantee more that an hour wait. Even when you book your appointment 2 weeks in advance. Would not recommend this location to anyone that is trying to keep their day organized.

Such a chaos in this place!

Staff are awfully unorganized and moodless and it’s really pointless to book an appointment cuz eventually you have to fight to get in.

Avoid this branch as much as possible.

If you have an appointment, they get your work done in a short time even if it’s a busy day. I always make appointments here when anyone in the family needs a lab work.

They improved their online booking appointment now. Very easy. They are much better than before. Everything is more organized. I give them now 5 stars.

Old:
I booked an online appointment this morning before 8 AM. It said my waiting time was 115 min. It went up and up until they closed and sent me a message that they are closed. So their online appointment is a BS. Very disappointed at them.

You need to book an appointment for this location. It's 5 days ahead waiting. But if you can stay up late at night and keep checking. Someone might cancel. I was lucky to get a cancelation for 8.45am spot

I went there yesterday because there website says they do walk ins, when i got there i was told by the receptionist that they don’t offer that service, but when i told her that the website says they do offer walk in service, she quickly changed her answer and said they only do walk ins in the morning, when i went back today as soon as they opened they took my health card and told me to go home and to send my requisition to them online, so i went home and tried to do exactly that, but you can’t fill out a requisition without your health card# i called them to explain the situation and they said they could print it there when i came back for my appointment, when i got back i had to wait 30 min in line with people behind me getting served first only to be told by the receptionist that they don’t offer to print requisitions and i had to wait another 10 min for them to find my health card, on top of that i didn’t hear the conversations but at least 4 people got turned away while i was waiting in line.overall terrible experience, i’d recommend bio lab in bells corners, much friendlier and professional reception.will not be going back to dynacare kanata, or at least not until they fix their receptionist problem

Had a scheduled appointment for 2pm, got there and checked in inside, & then had to go back outside to line up in 30 degree weather with masks on — no big deal. 20 minutes pass, then the young girl who was at registry proceeds to tell people behind me in line to go ahead inside first — I’m a very patient person so I still wait. 30 minutes go by and she finally speaks to me & it’s to say that they don’t have an active requisition & asks me if I want to call my doctor. That’s when I lost my patience, I was checked in & waiting in line for “thirty minutes” and it’s not until way after my appointment I get notified about the issue. I should have been told about it from the beginning when I first checked in, that way I could have been waiting in line while contacting my doctor. The way the situation was handled as last minute was enough to make me walk away & now I will never go there again. Just such a shame because the nurses inside are actually quite good, too bad reception doesn’t know how to actively go about a problem. Don’t go here, eagleson is better.

Understaffed & poorly organized! Maybe just a bad day with missing staff but phlebotomists were doing most admin work, delaying medical work. Staff who were there were great but running 40 min late. Need a better system to serve walk-ins as well.

Booked and appointment to get my blood work done. When I got in, the girl “accidentally” canceled my appointment. And had to wait for over half an hour for someone else to correct my information in the system, and when I asked, she just said you need to sit there and wait. Used to be my go to place whenever I need blood work but this will be my last time! Don’t know what they did, but it’s gotten worse!

I was here with my 8 years son for his blood test. This location didn't have the check in online feature, so I expected there might be a long wait. But the test is going super smooth. I was there 10 minutes ahead of my appointment, and my son got his blood test done almost right on time. The staff are nice and friendly. A big thank you for all your efforts during the pandemic!

I don't understand why I ever bother making an appointment, as they are never running on time. Today, I visited and they were running 1hr behind. My previous visit, they were running 40 minutes behind.

Made an online appointment and was told I still had to wait outside for a minimum of two hours! What's the point of making an online appointment? All this for a urine test. Much better service at Life Labs. I won't go back to Dynacare.

I visited this location to do a pregnancy 1 hour glucose test and the staff were fantastic. I was given the sugar drink immediately and waited exactly 1hr to have my blood drawn (as is required). I was feeling like I might faint in the waiting room while waiting for my blood draw and the staff quickly helped me to a place where I could lay down, and continuously checked to make sure I was ok. I was extremely grateful for the wonderful care given how terrible I was feeling. All in all, by far one of the more positive blood test experiences I've had.

Awesome experience from start to finish. I booked the appointment online for 8: 30 AM. I arrived the required ten minutes before the appointment and was warmly greeted at a reception/pre-screening desk. They took my requisition form as well as OHIP card, confirmed the details then politely asked me to wait and they will come to get me. They did at exactly 8: 30, I briefly waited in the waiting room then had the blood work and ECG completed. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and professional and who would have thought this should be a pleasant experience! Well done Dynacare and thank you for being there for us.

Such a terrible place. It used to be very well managed but now they turned into a disaster they seem to not have any control over the online booking and how to manage people. Staff was so rude and they have no control over anything.

Very chaotic. In processing is a disaster. Staff seem to be disorganized, on edge and very stressed out. After disinfecting a spot to draw blood, the nurse proceeded to rub her (not disinfected) gloved finger over the vein before proceeding to insert the needle.

If you check in online and it says 2 hours, add an hour or two, they serve the walk-ups before those who pre registered.

I made an online appointment as soon as the clinic opened. Initially there was a 2 hour wait time which quickly diminished to 30 minutes. I arrived at the clinic about 8am and was out by 830am. The staff was efficient and friendly. A good experience all round.

Terrible experience for me to do the blood test in this location! Waiting outdoor in line at the temperature 0°C for 1 hour. The system shown that the estimate time was 100 minutes when I checked in on line in the morning, however I had to spend an extra 2 hours in the lab. It took me 3 1/2 hours to finish the test in total.

Horrible experience. I've been trying to get blood work done for 7 days now bc I lost some of my peripheral vision. Im a physio, and right now it's tough to take time off but I took the afternoon off to get blood work. Across town for 180 mins everywhere. I'm ok to wait, but when I have 60 mins left they cancel it last minute.

I woke up this morning and tried to sign up from 8: 07 in Barrhaven. Online check in full. I jumped straight in my car and drove there in my pjs, 1.5 hour outdoor wait in the freezing cold. I wasn't dressed appropriately, which was my mistake. I signed up for Katimivic by 8: 25 bc it was the only place in town that were still were taking online. When there was 40 mins left, I started driving over. With 19 mins left I'm in the check in line at 12 pm. A lady comes in and out and talks to ppl on the side which I thought was the walkin line since I'm standing in the online check-in line. I get a text saying its closed and sorry for the inconvenience. So I went to ask and wait for her to come out and its 12: 05 pm. She said if I dont have your paper. I begged which I have never done before that I've been trying for a week and I really really need this. I just stood in the line labelled checkin and she was very rude. If you're in health care, empathy is important or it's time to get out.

My suggestions:
1. If checkin says 15 mins and you close in 1 mins, than make it clear so ppl dont drive across town. Put in bold "Must arrive by 12".

2. There must be another way that checkin can be done where it's not requiring you to stand outdoors (It's only going to get colder). The system before listing your # in line seemed to be a better system (but I also don't know its flaws). Possibly upload requistions so you know what's being done.

3. Standing in line, I came to learn that lots of locations have recently closed making it super difficult to get testing and lots of ppl shared the same frustration.

I learned that I can pay to have it done outside of your house which is likely the way I'll go. Previously, I thought why do that when it's free but all the gas and time wasted makes. I wont have to take another half day and wont have to deal with rude behavior.
