This place was extremely busy today, so I’m not faulting them for the long wait time, but the staff working there were extremely unprofessional to everyone waiting. Anytime someone would go up and ask a question for clarification, the staff at the front desk would brush them off or respond very rudely. At one point, the lady at the front desk said she “wasn’t taking any more questions and didn’t care what people did”.

The technician I had also missed my vein the first time and punctured me twice, leaving a pretty big bruise on my arm. I only went to this lab because it was directly below the doctor I was visiting, but I’ll be sticking with LifeLabs from now on.

I went at about 9 am and the wait was no more than 20 mins.
Lee was amazing! Very polite and very gentle when drawing out blood.

I've been going here for more than a year, more frequently during pregnancy because of all of the tests. This place is WALK-IN only, they do get busy. I'd suggest coming to line up even a few minutes before they open if you can. I haven't had luck calling, they get so busy. Sometimes you can check in online before coming to see approximately how long your wait could be.

But once you're in, they are efficient, nice, and very good at doing the blood tests.
I even had to do a 2 hour glucose test, where they had to draw blood every 3 hours (one at the beginning then once an hour later and another hour later) and I didn't have to wait long for my turn because they are organized.

The worst lab ever. Spent two hours, blood work couldn’t get done after two puncture, they did ECG even though my doctor never requested just so they can get data to their cardiologist & there was no washroom so couldn’t so urine analysis. All in all 120 minutes for nothing. At the end I requested for a different person to try and take my blood & it worked but they didn’t not like that I asked for somebody else.

Had the most amazing experience at this Dynacare location, the staff were experienced, patient and kind. The line-up can’t be helped and that is not any reflection of the people who work there. It’s just a busy location at times.

Tried calling a bunch but got no answer whatsoever.
And the one answer I did get was no one actually at the phone, it was just picked up and left off the hanger

Their wait system on the tv doesn’t work. I waited an hour and twenty minutes on a Saturday to get my blood drawn. I also was left with a huge bruise and irritated vain afterwards which has never happened to me. The inexperienced technique of my blood being drawn is the most concerning. Save your time, go anywhere else.

Don’t come here. It is chaotic. I registered online. Checked in when I came in, told them I had registered online. Said it would take 10 minutes. I’ve been waiting 40 minutes. My name disappeared. They blamed me saying I hadn’t told them I was registered online. In the time I’ve been sitting here I’ve seen one person give up and leave saying she’ll just go to the hospital. They don’t listen to the patients; patients have specific questions but they answer half the question. One person asked a question and the person said she couldn’t answer and gestured to the back and said “ask the girls”. Two people asked to speak to the manager, separately, and were told there is no manager, they are all equal. There’s a reason the overall rating for this location is so low.

I come to this location whenever
I need blood work done, and normally it's good, today however something seemed wrong, I am now feeling a pain/weird sensation, in the arm they took blood from, and there is blood pooling under my skin. It felt like this person pushed the needle through the whole vain.

I was hesitant to try this location after seeing so many less-than-positive reviews, but I eventually decided to go as it was a short walk from my home (as opposed to visiting the one near Christie Pits.) Every time I've visited it's been a pleasant experience. All the staff are lovely and efficient and a little funny. Sure, there's a bit of a wait sometimes, but that's only really happened once and it wasn't even that long. Don't let the negative reviews scare you. I visited throughout 2022 and never had any issues. I also liked that I could book an appointment online, but as of Fall 2022 that option seems to have changed (?) which is the only annoying thing. Going to try and reach theme via telephone.

I've been here twice in the last few months and had a very positive experience when having my blood drawn. Maybe I was fortunate but I never had to wait and was seen immediately and always had a friendly chat. Then I went for a third time and there was someone working at the desk who I've not seen before. I don't mind wait times but the dismissive attitude and refusal to answer reasonable questions is off putting. I watched her literally pretend not to hear what someone was asking. I imagine similar experiences might be the reason for the terrible reviews! I think she is maybe just exhausted but the approach is not really helping.

I had a very bad experience with a very rude staff. There was this Indian lady on the counter when I arrived. I asked her about how much it's gonna cost as I don't have health card, and she snapped at me for no good reason in a very rude manner. My appointment was 2: 50 but my turn came around 3: 40. Gross time mismanagement. The same lady came to draw my blood. She was totally engrossed in gossip with this other white girl while doing the blood work. They were talking continuously about how her boyfriend is coming and will be meeting her dad for the first time.blah blah. I have a genuine fear for syringe so when she took out the syringe, my fear showed on my face, and guess what.she yelled at me and said "BEHAVE" in a very rude tone. She was bad at her job, couldn't take out the blood in the first time, and then took my other arm for blood. All while being rude to me and gossiping. I don't recommend this place if you value your time or don't like rude behavior.

Been to this location multiple times.
Usually great wait times and staff.
However the last visit has left a sour taste.
Online it showed all walk ins and no wait time. I showed up they advised I could wait but they only were doing appointments I asked to make an appointment but they advised they were switching next week to walk in only.
They were unable to provide a wait time. But I ended up waiting over two hours. Had they told me it could be a long wait I would have come back the following week. There was not any reason they could not have told me it would be a long wait based on the number of appointments they had and other walk ins.
Secondly over the two hours I waited some staff were exceptional and very understanding of people's frustrations. One particular staff member was rude to all patients and walk ins it was unfortunate to watch.

I personally had a really positive experience here. The staff were extremely friendly and personable, the facility was clean and wait times weren't too bad. I did arrive 20 minutes early and was seen about 10 minutes after my scheduled time. I booked online and took a printed requisition with me. I will use this location for all my future blood tests. Thank you for the positive experience ladies.

I was looking for a lab within walking distance of home to do a blood test for my 9-month-old infant daughter. After calling around, the Dynacare customer service centre gave me a "somewhat confident" indication that this location is capable of handling infants. I booked and showed up for the appointment. After a wait, I was told that the vials they use to draw samples for infants had expired and they were unsure when the next shipment would arrive. They said they would call me so I could return and try again. This alone was an indication that this location does not see infants that often.

They called me about 3 business days later, and I booked a new appointment. This time, I showed up to a line (5 people long, for an appointment-only location) outside the door in the August heat. They were running behind, and were rushed, flustered, and stressed.

After waiting about 30 minutes, we were called up. No instructions were provided - this was my first time taking my daughter for a blood test, and needless to say, it was challenging to keep her calm. Given the small size of their office, I was surprised that I had no idea where to go, where to sit, and where to put the stroller. Communication was poor. The experience felt like a Tim Horton's drive-through - impersonal, no details, and speed was of the essence so they could catch up their appointment backlog.

They could not find a vein in my daughter's left arm, and she obviously cried and fought them while they tried. Staff seemed uncomfortable and lacked confidence with infants. When I asked when the last infant they tested was (see above point about expired vials), they said "yesterday", and I was then told that I was agitated and asked to leave because I seemed unsure about proceeding.

Having been there twice in 7 days now, with no test to show for it (it's a 20+ minute walk), I pleaded with the front desk to try again, perhaps on the right arm. Common sense prevailed, and the staff managed to take a sample. I had to push for this - it wasn't easy. They do the blood tests right in the hallway, so your infant is in for quite an experience.

Overall, if you're bringing an infant here, be sure they're well rested, have had plenty of fluids/food, and be confident around the staff. You'll be the one making them feel more comfortable, not the other way around. They get 2 stars because they managed to take the sample, and were receptive to my feedback on the way out. There must be a better place though!

UPDATE - after receiving the results a few days later, it turns out the sample they took was not usable for analysis (possibly damaged during collection, transporting, etc). I'm reducing my rating to 1 star, since there's nothing positive to say about this facility. Will seek out another lab to try again.

Good experience here. I booked online ahead of time and uploaded the requisition form from my Doctor directly to them. The staff were professional, pleasant and efficient. I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I made the mistake of not drinking enough prior to my blood test and my first technician was unable to find a viable vein due to my dehydration. She was very gentle and tried to warm my veins with warm water but after a few tries I had to try again with another technician. Another technician gave me warm water and was also very gentle and we were finally able to draw the blood I needed after my first vein collapsed. The wait was efficient and I was able to be seen a bit earlier and given that I was not ready, the experience was great. I will definitely return and come better prepared in the future.

Good place to get lab work done. Staff is polite and efficient. On top of that my results were excellent. My family doctor informed me my vitamin D level was 72 ng/ml. Take that Covid.

Easily the worst laboratory testing experience I have ever had. You book a time online but that means nothing. There was a looong line outside in the rain. Felt bad for old people who had to stand. It was 40m past my booking, and they came out to say they were going to close the clinic without saying why. Please don't go here. Don't support this place.

I booked my appointment and uploaded my requisition online, very easy. Arrived early to my appointment, they screened and welcomed me in. I warned the nurse that I'm prone to fainting with needles, she had me lay down and kept me talking as a distraction, it worked! Really lovely experience!

Staff are very patient, I've seen them have to put up with very belligerent/non-compliant patients. They're very kind and obviously over worked. There was a bit of a wait but I can't blame staff for that, management should add another person and patients should be more considerate.

I had a very positive experience at this Dynacare location today! The safety protocols and professionalism of the staff made me feel so safe and comfortable while getting blood tests done during the pandemic. This location is currently by appointment only, so the waiting room is not crowded at all. The staff was very kind and calm, and I was in and out in 10 minutes! I would highly recommend making an appointment at this location if you are nervous about going for blood tests during the pandemic.

They are SOOOO slow to do anything! I waited almost an hour and a half for basic bloodwork, the check in system they have is a lie it says 20 min wait but it’s definitely not 20 mins! Just go to LifeLabs where your actually in and out of there in less than half an hour don’t waste your time here

Went in for bloodwork - my veins are often hard to find (the nurses usually have to try 2 or 3 different spots) but Antonia did a good job. The wait times on the screen aren't accurate though.

First they gave me the wrong container for a sample then gave me a different container for a second sample and after several calls to no answer and going in to the 27 Roncesvalles location after over three weeks and no results to my dr I am told the second container was also the wrong one for my tests so it hadn’t been done. They didn’t even have the decency to call me and let me know. Meanwhile my daughter is stressed out not knowing what’s wrong.

I do not recommend this location. I went to do a glucose test I had to drink a liquid and wait an hour for it to digest. After 50 minutes I had to go to the washroom because I'm pregnant and I asked the lady can I go to the washroom because I just drank the glucose drink. She said sure go ahead and as soon as I came back from the washroom she called my name and said you need a urine test. I'm surprised that she didn't pay attention. The staff are kind of rude and customer service is not that great.

Avoid this place (unless you have lots of time to waste). After registration today the timing screen gave a 15-minute wait estimate; 45 minutes later we gave up. To add insult to injury, one receptionist was downright rude to my 15-year old son. Given their client base appears to be primarily old folks and new Canadians, they must think abysmal service will be tolerated. Not.

Do NOT waste money on the Dynacare Plus that they sell for $25 a year.
It is a waste of money and time.
Inefficient and frustrating to try and sign up for, they take your information and then it all has to be entered again with the pin code, then they may send a letter of confirmation, but dont hold your breath.

Other clinics provide this access for FREE.

For a lab with such low reviews this is the best lab I've ever dealt with. I've had bloodwork done for myself and my child here and they do a fantastic job. Quick turnaround for both results and wait time.

I agree with the positive comments when I went for my test but the nightmare began after! They said they’d send my report to my doctor in 3 days. Guess what? It’s been 10 days and they haven’t sent my blood reports to my doctor AND they don’t answer the phone!

I've used them for 20 years. Great staff, reasonable wait times and the results get to my doctor within a couple of days. Why all the complaints folks. Stop going at the peak times. They even supply a "best service" time chart. Easy.

Wait by the counter to drop off the slip for nearly 10 mins. Lineup is incredibly slow. Delivery men come in and shout on the phone. Irritating alarms sounds and no staff turn them off. People waiting were all very frustrated and displeased.

Today was my first experience with Dynalab and this particular location. While the wait was long (~50 min) I understand that is just part of the deal with medical visits. My low rating is due to the poor communication by the staff (no description of wait time or expectations), the complete lack of instruction or direction (where to go, where to bring the sample, what they were doing to me), the less than professional demeanor (being told I could "go pee pee now for my pee pee sample") and the fact that you have to pay a subscription fee to access your own medical results on line. They were kind enough to tell me that Life Labs does not charge for that "service", so I will probably visit them the next time I need this service.

I usually never write reviews but I feel I have to defend this place from all of the low scoring reviews. The staff was nice, the wait was a little long it's true, but it was not unreasonable, the blood test was done quickly and left no bruise. If people go in with a sour attitude, I'm sure they'll be met with an attitude in return - these lab techs are people too! Kindness and patience goes a long way. Would recommend this lab to anyone.

I’ve tried to keep coming back, but this was my last attempt. They’ve already misplaced my blood sample once and the last two times I’ve been here the wait time has been unreasonable and messy. Today I got in 10 minutes after they opened and the wait times were at over 40 minutes. One woman had to sit at an empty reception desk for almost 10 minutes as she was waiting for someone to come assist her.

I wish this place was better as it is the closest lab to my house. But I took my health card and requisition form and I’m gonna have to try somewhere else.

I came here for bloodwork the other day and the ladies who work there are super nice:) there was only one lady working when I came in, responsible for checking people in and taking blood. At first I was thinking I would be here for a long time (it was an hour before they closed). There were many people in the room when I came in but she got through the patients ahead of me quickly while helping the people at the door as well. Another lady came out after and took my blood and she was very friendly as well. This Dynacare is closest to my house so I will definitely be back if I ever need bloodwork. Thank you to the ladies working on Tuesday March 26 at 4pm:)

Ugh. The wait times here are absurd. At least double what it says on the check-in screen and everybody working is operating so slow. Waiting room is packed on a weekday so I can’t imagine a weekend. Go to Lifelabs up the street instead.

Don't usually write reviews, but.

I recently visited this clinic with my partner for some routine blood work. We called in advance to check wait times, but there was no answer. No problem, we’ll just head over. The overflowing waiting room could have been a red flag, but maybe they’re just a busy clinic.

To check in, we get in line, which is really more of a confused mob near the front doors. Eventually, we are informed of a long wait, which could be expected but really, nothing could have prepared us for the dystopian test in human patience ahead.

Most people around us already seemed a little annoyed and we soon figured out why.

As we sat, the staff would occasionally call out to the waiting room, asking patients for something that they had already provided. That was basically the extent of their communication and otherwise they seemed indifferent to the tense atmosphere.

The major first slowdown occurred when the computer system crashed while they were trying to enter information. Shortly after, a young woman wanders out into the waiting room, holding her urine sample, confused and embarrassed. As they inform her to put it in the discreet basket at the back, I wonder if perhaps that information wouldn’t have been useful to her in advance. Oh, and when I say discreet basket, I am referring to a trash bin on a step stool in the middle of the hallway (pictured). They were a staff of three but honestly it seemed as if things would run smoother if they just handed out syringes and sample bottles, letting the patients take a crack at doing the tests and using their apparently baffling computer system.

Behind the desk, the internal speaker of a computer blasts a soft rock playlist that I can only imagine is titled “inspirational ballads” - though none of the songs were identifiable. One had a chorus which went “What a wonderful day it is” over and over.

Several times, a nurse would ask out loud to the room, “Whose urine sample is this? ” The general disorganization of the clinic seemed to reach a peak when, on one occasion, they were calling the name of a patient who it turns out was already getting blood taken in the back room.

After the clinic closed and we continued to wait, multiple people were still coming in off the street, but rather than a simple closed sign out front they opted to verbally tell everyone they had been closed “for a long time” without apology. Eventually they got fed up and locked the door, though I admit I wondered for a moment if they were locking us in.

Photos on the walls are stock pictures of happy, smiling seniors and families drinking soda in the sunshine. Perhaps, they didn’t have to deal with Dynacare that day. Maybe they, unlike the unlucky people in this still packed room, had never heard of this place.

I noticed that the phone never rang, so obviously it’s either not plugged in or they are intentionally ignoring it. I have a suspicion about which one. At least now I know why we didn't get an answer when we called to check wait times.

Finally, the blood test came and honestly that part was quick and easy (hence two stars), but after witnessing what we saw I can safely say this place is uniquely dysfunctional. It’s pretty obvious that they just need to switch out the front desk staff with friendly, competent people but honestly, it’s so bad I almost don’t want it to change. You have to experience it to believe it.

Lab is accessed through the pharmacy in the lobby, not clear at all.
Receptionist is not friendly. Expect to be ignored.
Waiting time is 30-45 minutes.
My advice is go somewhere else
