A very decent place to have an equally decent buffet.
To begin with, the restaurant is very well laid-out, with three pretty large rooms tucked away in three different areas, and hidden from each other. The ambience of the place is commendable, including the various statues, figurines and wall decorations. The dishes offered are varied and prepared pretty well. The servers are hard-working and courteous.
My only two peeves are, first, that the beef was too hard, and needed a lot of chewing and, secondly, that there isn't enough light on the flight of steps leading up to the entrance door. Those are probably the two reasons this location will get a 4-star rating from me instead of a five.
East India Company is by far my favourite place for Indian food in Ottawa! The food is always so good at both locations and at their Winnipeg location as well! The service is excellent. I highly recommend!
Amazing place to eat, fresh naan, amazing butter chicken. I returned regularly here until I tried the seafood curry and got a mouthful of mussel beard, the staff shrugged after I notified them that the mussels weren’t washed properly and I have not been back since.
This was the worst lahori malai platter I ever tasted from East India. This was my 5th order via Uber Eats from them so far but, could NOT even eat one piece of this platter. The chicken was not cooked properly and did not even had a regular smell
I enjoyed meal alot over there …. The best thing of this restaurant is chilli naan this naan is best for the spicy lovers however drinks are best over there
We chose the buffet, and it included a good variety of dishes, all very delicious, including appetizers, mains, and desserts. Good value for the lunch buffet. Beer selection could better is the only suggestion.
Food was terrible.dhaaba chicken was bland. Garlic naan was burned.bad experience Took my Nigerian friend for experiencing Indian food and was totally disappointed with the food. Biryani was tasteless rice with dry lamb. Not coming here ever again.
Do yourself a favour AND DO NOT GO. It was the WORST food experience ever. I will never go there again and do not recommend anyone going there. Almost seems like a scam- The chicken smelled- you can tell all the food was leftover. Although the service was decent, everything else was bad. The chairs were dirty, the tables were also so dirty (which didn't make sense cuz they were vacant). The carpet was so old and dirty, you lost your appetite trying to eat.
I visited this restaurant with a colleague who has lived in many parts of India and we both found the quality and variety of the food excellent. Our only disappointment was there was no naan which would have made the meal complete.
BEWARE - These folks charge for an indian dinner staple - bread, on top of the price of the buffet.so add $10 to the price of the buffet per person. The buffet selection is reasonable and the quality is ok.
We had a wonderful evening to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing and the staff were superb…they went beyond to fulfill all our requests. We will be back!
I had high hopes from here just going by the reviews. We tried lunch buffet on a Saturday with family and it was not good. Food especially coconut, tomatoes chutney were stale. The mushroom curry was stale. I had never had a single experience in a diner where they serve stale food. Service wise it wasn't good either. There was long wait for the Dosas and the the serving person was overwhelmingly busy being the only one serving all the customers. I hope they value honest reviews and make changes accordingly.
