I had a great overall experience with my midwife team (Geneviève, Melanie S, and student Jenny!) at East Ottawa Midwives. Early in my pregnancy I had some abnormalities show up on tests/scans and they were so patient, understanding, and compassionate answering all my questions. Every appointment I had with each midwife helped me make the right choices for me and my baby.

When I was in labour, the birthing team was incredibly encouraging and empowering. Everyone had their role in the room and made both me and my husband feel so comfortable and cared for throughout the process.

The best part of being followed by the midwife team was the postpartum care. Not only were they so wonderful with my baby but they supported me through the toughest moments. It was an emotional experience but they provided me incredible direct care as well as referred me to all the specialists I needed to succeed as a new mother.

THANK YOU once again, ladies. You are all amazing at what you do!

It has taken me a while to write this review because I needed some time to process the ordeal I went through. I was basically traumatized by one of the midwives with worst case scenarios (knowing full well I spent 5 years and went through IVF to have this baby). I have never in my entire life, faced the amount of body shaming in a medical space as I did here. And that is saying something. It was assumed due to my weight I would have GD (I did not) and I was against testing (which I'm not). For a space that should be safe I felt the complete opposite, I left my appointment in literal tears. If you want compassionate care I would advise going anywhere else. I could sense that I wasn't wanted as a patient and my birthing hopes weren't going to be supported. Surprisingly enough I had more holistic care from an OB they referred me to.

Will not ever be going back here. Full on fear mongering.negativity.and made to feel horrible the entire experience. Body shamed and only told 1% worst case senerios. Horrific service. Also made many mistakes (postpartum) and made me feel like a bad mother. How some of them are still able to work there baffles me. Find someplace else for your pregnancy needs. The midwives I had were the worst. Stressed me out the entire time and throughout the birthing process. Avoid this place. I hope no one else has to experience what I did.
