Had my New Year Eve dinner here. Compliments to the restaurant for a delicious dinner. Charlie for an amazing and professional service. Highly recommended
We are regular customers that have been going weekly for a few years now. The Whitby location is unparalleled when it comes to our experience. The portions are always extremely generous and the food is fresh. The staff as well are exceptional, especially Kris! He is the heart of the restaurant and always takes care of us every time. He is the best!
Been to this location multiple times for lunch and my server Alex is always amazing. She always remembers me and welcomes me back. Food is great and the restaurant is lively but never to loud making conversations easy.
I have been to this location multiple times, on varying days and times in the day (lunch, dinner), and have endured the same issues. The server was great once but other times I have found them impatient and without manners. The female bathroom has been dirty, with one clogged toilet and the other the seat slides like it’s about to come off and the toilet paper dispenser was hanging off the wall. I reported the issues and months apart they still aren’t repaired. On my most recent visit, there was what seemed to be a manager wearing furry slip on slippers while working and pants that left nothing to the imagination showing the texture of a thong. She was only interacting with other staff hanging around at the bar and doing minimal work. There were multiple non employee looking people hanging inside the kitchen not wearing proper attire either. At one point I went to go use the bathroom and there had been cleaning chemical sprayed on the doors, sinks, toilets and other high touch areas but there was no person actively cleaning. She had left and eventually came back to wipe. This is unsafe as no one should be touching this chemical and could be harmed, like a child. The floors of the restaurant were covered in food and my visit was well after dinner rush where some areas could have been swept. We asked for a booth and the hostess cleared and cleaned one for us but left the table and part of the bench quite wet and laid our menus in it. We went and got napkins to dry it as we didn’t want to sit or put our hands in the wetness. The food came out and was overall good, and was the best part of our visit. This location needs work and training.
Got take out. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs-the standard. Absolutely awful. The spaghetti was crunchy in spots, the meatballs didn't taste like meatballs (packaged) and very little sauce. Threw most of it out, for fear of getting sick. Waste of $25. Zero stars.
EDIT: I came here today after reviewing them before and was a bit disappointed. It took 10 minutes for our server to come over to take our drink order. My Pina Colada was served in a wine glass. I said nothing about that. The "Jumbo Shrimp" pasta had no jumbo shrimp so false advertising, I said nothing to the server about that. Brown lettuce tossed into my salad, I sad nothing about that. They've gone back to using cheap margarine for the bread instead of real butter, I said nothing about that. The server started off nice but seemed to change her tune when I asked why my daughter didn't receive her salad that comes with her meal, yet my husband and I received ours. She gave me some snooty response about it being a family size salad and that we can share, yet my husbands salad came in the same size bowl for him only. She seemed really defensive and offended that I would even ask. She should be able to answer a simple question without the snotty response. I could have complained about a lot more but chose not too. I see another restaurant that is slowly losing it appeal and quality control. Disappointing experience today.
(OLD REVIEW, SEE ABOVE FOR MOST RECENT) My family and I just went back to this East Side Mario’s for the first time yesterday since they reopened last week after months of being closed down. New owners. Excellent service, fresh delicious food. Just goes to show how sometimes a new owner who takes pride in their restaurant makes a world of difference. Our meals were hot and fresh and tasted amazing. They also now offer real butter for the delicious bread they serve, got rid of the nasty cheap margarine that used to be served here before new ownership. Quality control for sure and the place is spotless, so bright and clean. Will be back with my family often.
I had a fantastic experience at East Side Mario's, all thanks to Tim's exceptional service. From the moment we walked in, Tim greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided excellent recommendations. Tim's friendly demeanor and efficient service truly enhanced our dining experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Thanks to Tim, it was an unforgettable evening at East Side Mario's.
Our server Nicole was so amazing! She was really kind and always looked out for us if we needed anything. In addition to being an amazing waiter, the service was super quick and the food was delicious! Was overall a great dinner out with friends:)
Our family dropped in on Toonie Tuesday. There were four of us. Our friends joined us unexpectedly a little after we had received our appetizers. The hostess and serving staff were more than happy to accommodate a move of tables, and were fast in taking their orders. The food was fast, hot, and tasty. It was also affordable as we took advantage of the kids eat for a toonie deal! The service here is always wonderful.
If there was an option to give Nicole 10 stars, I would! Her level of friendliness, attention to detail and general caring for my family's meal was recognized by myself, my kids and husband. She seemed more like family and we felt so welcomed. I am sure the staff knows how great she is but I wanted to take the time to recognize her efforts that were above and beyond. Janine, Nicole is OUTSTANDING! Thank you for making the Double Birthday celebration special tonight.
