We had an issue with the colour of our cabinet bed not being what we ordered and without hesitation they not only swapped it, they also paid for white glove pickup/delivery of the new bed.

I live in Alberta and I must state that the service was quick and easy! I ordered my futon mattress online and I had an email within 24 hours confirming my order with delivery details and a tracking number. As for the futon, I purchased the 8 layer budget and found it was still excellent quality and I feel confident that my guests will have a good night sleep:)

This store doesn’t honour its return policy. Assume all sales are final.

I tried to return a mattress that I’d ordered, but hadn’t been delivered to me yet. No one had told me the sale was final. But the owner, Laurie, told me that my order wasn’t eligible to be returned. I explained that it was too late to be telling me that but he somehow disagreed, and added that he could “throw it back” at me and ask why I bought a mattress I didn’t need.

Obviously, they can’t have it both ways: either they take returns OR they admonish customers for breaking their commitments.

At reputable stores it’s made clear to me when a sale is final – usually the salesperson flags it at checkout, and it’s also noted on the receipt. But Laurie said he can’t tell the customer every time an item can’t be returned (I don’t know why; it’s four extra words: “This sale is final. ”)

The staff also listed a bunch of irrelevant things (my order was heavy and they’d needed to move it around; they’d need to store the mattress if I returned it; customers rarely return mattresses; they’d spent time talking to me in the store; etc.) as if they were reasons to not honour their return policy.

After three frustrating phone calls they let me return the mattress, but charged a cancellation fee instead of issuing the full refund that their policy promises.

I got the frame, mattress, and cover from this store completely online, sight unseen. The whole experience was great. The futon is really beautiful and sturdy - I intend to use it mostly as a couch and the mattress I got for it turned out to be more comfortable than many of the couches I tried. We had a few delays that couldn't be helped but I was always kept informed about what was going on and what the timeline was. They even helped me bring it inside when it was delivered. Overall great customer service and product, highly recommended!

Got my first shikibuton, could not me happier. Super comfy on my platform bed, received it in days. Staff was knowledgeable and patient with my questions. Added bonus, all natural materials, made in Canada.

I have shopped at this store a number of times over the years and have always recieved A+ customer service. They act like they are genuinely happy to have you as a customer.

The owner was so nice and his products are very good quality. Love the futon and base we ordered.

There is a wide variety of futons and frames to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable and patient.

Don't deal with this company. They will take your money and tell you an order will be coming within a specific time frame. Then when that time has passed they expect you to contact them to find out there is delays that they can't control. Poor customer service all around.

The product is amazing, I am sleeping soundly and comfortably. My order took a lot longer to come in but it was expected due to all the covid restrictions.

I'm happy with my futon. Excellent communication and fast response times. I was a little disappointed with the cover I ordered. It was not surged inside. I do have pets and I will be washing it frequently and didn't want loose threads all over after washing. I'm also worried the cover was not pre washed so I hope it does not shrink. I did inquire prior to my order if the seams on the cover would be surged and I was told yes, but that's not what I received.

The futon is excellent. They treat you like a person and make sure you get what you asked for. Highly recommend this company.

We bought a very basic bedframe here about six months ago- service was great and the bedframe went together relatively easily. Zero complaints after using this bed for some time. Nothing squeaks or moves. Miles ahead of an IKEA or Structube bed for about the same price point. Everything is real wood and hasn't needed any re-tightening.

I was able to get in and out in 5 minutes. Was looking for a new futon cover, and we were able to find what we wanted, so far quality has been spot on. My only disappointment was the selection for covers was not good at all. Might have been 10-12 colours. Like I said we found something that was better than acceptable, just not what I had hoped for. I would consider shopping here in the future.

My husband and I just purchased a Canadian made futon frame and mattress- it is so hard to find Canadian made products these days. We are incredibly happy with the customer service and are looking forward to receiving our purchase.

This futon is great! It's very comfortable, lightweight, and the fact that it's stuffed with eucalyptus fibres mean that it doesn't trap body heat. I've had a really comfy sleeping experience! The service was very quick, even in spite of the restrictions placed on businesses during the isolation period, and the option to pick-up from the storefront was easy and convenient.

I was absolutely shocked at the quality of futons that this company provides! I'm quite impressed with the products, the pictures on the site are great, but the quality really shows in person. I'd definitely buy another futon from this company.

Great quality product, super comfortable mattresses. I was considering between the Celeste Sun Eucalyptus. But I purchased the Japanese Shikibuton with cover in the end.

I cannot praise this store highly enough. East West Futons provides a level of customer service beyond any I've encountered elsewhere, and the quality of product is amazing. I ordered a futon for my studio that was meant to be mostly a chair and occasionally fold out into a bed. It was a bit of a rush order, as my mother was coming to stay the following week, and we needed a bed for her. After I placed the order, an employee called me to let me know that the mattress I had ordered would not fold properly into a chair. She spent several minutes helping me to find a better option. When I realized that it would take a few weeks for the order to arrive, she went further out of her way to find a solution that would fit my time frame. This included sending me several images of another (cheaper) model. She also spent extra time helping me to settle on a fabric for the futon cover. She also arranged to have the cover shipped separately, as that needed to be made to order in Montreal and would take a few weeks. It was the weekend, and the owner wasn't there to do the return and new order, so she let me know that it would be handled first thing Monday. And first thing Monday, I received a refund to my account along with a new purchase order. The order shipped right away, and made it from Toronto to Calgary in record time - it arrived Thursday morning, just in time for my mother! We love the product - a Spacely - which is the perfect solution for a small studio, and the cover, in Dylan mist, is really beautiful. Thank you East West Futons for being so fantastic!

Had been searching for awhile for a quality futon mattress. Many reviews on the internet detailed chemical smelling futon mattresses - I knew I didn’t want that! I live 3.5 hours away from East West Futons and I have never set foot in store however, through phone & email I was easily able to order a quality all cotton futon mattress and they shipped right to my door. And best of all when I opened the package - no chemical smell. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful and took care of everything! I’m one happy customer! I highly recommend to check out this store! Thank you!

Location might seem remote but as far as I saw among other brands of futons, this brand seems the best! One important thing worth to mention is they work with Sealy, use Sealy products on their futons! Worth to check the store!

Great service and a super futon. The salesperson Trevor was so kind and helpful, it made the whole job of finding our futon very relaxing. My father slept on it last night and was saying how wonderful the mattress was this morning!

Awesome place to get a futon mattress, friendly and comfortable, was never made to feel rushed or you have to buy. Bought my mattress here and will return again.
